Salad Slinger the Green Room Departs From the Ford Building This Week | Eater Detroit

"It's last call for the longtime downtown Detroit lunch staple the Green Room, which will bid farewell to the Ford Building this week after operating there since 1996. I report that owner Steve Zuccaro told Eater in January the restaurant’s lease was set to be terminated by the building’s new ownership, Zaid Elia and Matthew Shiffman (who co-own Parcin Campus Martius). Zuccaro had hoped to relocate, but the high demand and rent hikes in downtown Detroit have made finding a new lease difficult." - Brenna Houck

Greatest restaurant Greenville has ever had! Disregard other reviewers with 1 star that then rate Golden Corral 5 stars...unbelievable Food here is world class. If you don't want to spend money for great food and service...stay home! The other great thing is that the restaurant is not pretentious. Dress however you are comfortable and come with a good attitude...it improves from there. I have spent far more and not been as impressed as I was here. Reviewing past pictures and menus...I love the seasonal and theme variations...keep up the great work. Service was outstanding. Wine menu and cocktail choices were well curated. (If you are on a budget, share a couple of small plates and a dessert...you'll have a great experience and be out of there for under $100)

Pimento cheese was truly delicious and bold. The ribeye was large and delicious- cooked to perfection. The appetizer and entree game here justifies the price- some great options.

Ordered the duck fat fries, ribeye and wife had the red snapper. We ended the night with the smores and their take on all the dishes were wonderful. Portions were good, food was cooked perfectly and service was wonderful. No notes honestly, will be back forsure

They should aim for a Michelin Star. This restaurant is worth going off route to experience. I’ve been hearing about this restaurant ever since family moved to the area, but first dine there this past week. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy, the staff are friendly accommodating, but the food was exceptional. My son was disappointed that they had run out of wild boar and Black Forest cake but he was well distracted by his seafood/butternut cream pasta dish, starters of crispy brussel sprouts, soft shelled crab, and beetroot and apple salad; daughter-in-law enjoyed her pork belly bao buns, house cordon bleu on creamy farro with asparagus; and the toddler had very tasty crinkle-cut fries and chicken nuggets; I had a nice prime rib on very crisp smashed fingerlings and purple potatoes, and pear and fig salad. The table shared the Bischoff cake - a perfect ending! Cocktails were equality creative. Well done, Ford and Shep.

Great place, awesome service, my server Heather was the BOMB. super attentive and great suggestions. The space is super inviting, modern, but homey. Big open space, indoor, outdoor, event space. Just absolutely all around a great great vibe. The food itself was delicious. The cast iron snapper was filling and flavorful, the deviled eggs were delicious (however the "caviar" on top is being not super generous to what one would expect for caviar). Really would suggest these two dishes. Where the wheels fell off was the honeycomb, brownie dessert thing. That was honestly terrible. So bad that this place was easily a five star review, but that brownie was the last thing I tasted and was remarkably awful. I'd highly suggest this place to anyone, the food and service are amazing. I will be back here. I will not be getting the brownie, and I suggest you don't either.

Really great experience. The food was really good, awesome cocktails, and a very attentive server! I live in Raleigh but from Pitt County and what a treat Ford+Shep was during my visit “home”. Definitely rivals comparable restaurants in the Triangle. Can’t wait to go back. My local cousins already have!!
