Austin Food Truck Discada Tacos Reopens After Car Crash | Eater Austin

"A Round Rock golf course slated to host a charity tournament on Thursday, November 11 that pairs teams from local Asian restaurants led by their owners; the event carries a trophy for the winning team, a humorous work-for-a-day penalty for the losing owner, registration and sponsorship options, and a fundraising goal of $50,000 to benefit each restaurant’s charitable feeding programs." - Nadia Chaudhury

We had an awesome time at Forest Creek Golf Club today! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The course was in great shape. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were well maintained. We’ll definitely be going back!

Google
Forest Creek Golf Club is the best course in the Austin area! From the scenery to the staff, every time I golf at this course it never disappoints. The clubhouse burger and beer selection is to die for, I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for an incredible Texas golf experience.

Google
Fantastic experience here. Course quality was great for price and public course. Got a free small range bucket and lunch with green fee. Starter, staff, and Marshall all friendly and helpful. Pace of play was great. Electric cart with gps help and topographic information of greens. Don’t have anything bad to say.

Google
Forest Creek Golf Club is a special place. Every aspect of golf is included here. The course is challenging, but not overwhelming The staff welcomes you like an old golf buddy and the people who golf here are friendly. I met two guys who had paid memberships at another popular course, but drove a little further to play Forest Creek GC because they manage the number of golfers on the course much better here so the experience is much more enjoyable. Their practice facilities are my favorite. They have a dedicated pitching area from 30 yds out, an enormous undulating putting green which is so challenging that I can practice my putting for two hours and not get bored Their beautiful driving range is bordered by a thick forest. It is a public course so they use artificial turf mats. Out of all the courses in the North Austin area, I chose Forest Creek GC's Junior Academy as the place to begin my grandson's formal golf training. He loved the coaching staff and Coach Josh in particular. It is a lush green course during the spring time. During the hot summer months, it is my favorite place to golf during the twilight hours. I choose a day where it is 99° and falling at 5 pm. It is a peaceful place with a literal forest of trees to provide shade throughout the round. The pro shop is well supplied and the cafe is outstanding. The food is VERY good and there are lots of delicious options. I always eat there before or after putting practice and a round of golf.

Google
Course is always in great condition... played here several times. Unfortunately, the pace of play is always 4-5 hours. Our last (and final round) was 4:45. The marshals simply do not enforce pace of play. A shame. Better options around for your $.

James

Google
The management at this golf range is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful toward guests. The overall attitude and behavior are not what you would expect from a place that promotes relaxation and recreation. On top of that, the manager (Josh) allows a dog to roam freely around the golf course and even inside the dining area, which is disruptive and unsanitary. It gives the entire facility an unprofessional atmosphere. I would not recommend this range until management improves their professionalism and maintains better standards for guest comfort and safety.

Google
Good and bad. Course in good condition, pace of play was as expected, and no cart girl. On the turn, the bar and grill told us they closed at 2pm and it was 11:15isham. We finished at 1:10pm, walked in and they closed. If the told us they closed at 1, then I would have ot my food and drinks after 9. I know its Thanksgiving, but tell us you close earlier so we can get our food.

Google
Best greens in Austin area. Great golf course!

Rich P.

Yelp
Excellent value for the money, greens and fairways are in great shape! Clubhouse food is decent, all the carts came with iced bottled water.

Yelp
Ain't nothing like waking up on a saturday and having a tee time at 7:45 am. The greens are nice and green. No yellow in any of the 18 we played. I have to say one of the nicest courses that I've played on. This place is a bit pricey but well worth it. The carts come with gps and let you know the yardest. Cart girls cones around about every 3 holes to see if you need anything. The food is good. This place I will definitely keep golfing at.

Yelp
This is a wonderful challenging track. FC went through a major update a few years ago and it shows. Playing from the correct tees will provide you with a good challenge. Even though it is still early in the season the fairways provide great lies and the greens are in excellent condition. Their fully equipped carts with GPS keep the game moving along. The practice facility has also been improved with a grass driving range, large putting green, and a good-sized chipping area.

Yelp
This golf course is phenomenal! By no means am I a pro player. But man they are in the 21st century with their golf carts. All their golf carts have GPS, they even notify you if you're taking to long to play. They tell you the distance to the hole you are playing on. They will shut off on you if you choose not to follow the course rules with the grass. They provide you sand to assist with the up keep and damage from swing your clubs. On the 9th hole you can call ahead to get your food or beverages ready for the next 9 holes. The staff here are great and friendly as can be. They will provide you some great pointers too if you ask them. Overall, this is one of the best golf courses I enjoy playing on.

Ryan R.

Yelp
Well kept golf course, greens were pristine the day we went. Be ready for a fairly difficult course to play, some tricky holes with lots of water, sand and forests to keep you on your toes. Ample choices on the alcohol selection, and an even better selection back at the club house. Landsharks were one of my top choices. Only played 9 so can't vouch for the rest of the course but they were some of the most interesting holes I've played, great layout on this course!

Ben S.

Yelp
What an amazing job Kempfer and City of Round Rock have done. This was always my most beloved course, but lets be honest the City and the Managers before had let things get pretty bad. The rebuild, the care and maintenance and pace are just amazing. Thanks guys
google avatar

Gabriel G.

Yelp
great experience. staff amazing, they set the tone of a good golf experience course in great condition, very smooth greens. I have a tough time with no. 9 hole and 18. if I could just get past those two holes I would leave with a good feeling. great practice facilities pretty good food at the snack bar. Nice play to just hang around

Yelp
the worst management and customer service ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have never before left any bad reviews to any companies or places, even when they would do a bad job. but this one is the most horrible place i have ever experienced in 32 years of my life! staff is extremely rude, disorganized and terrible at communicating!!! if there would be an option to rate minus 5 stars, i'd rate them that!!! highly and extremely and very much so do not recommend forest creek golf club!!!!!!

Yelp
Don't go to Forrest Creek golf club, especially on Wednesday nights if you don't want to contract COVID. I've yet to be at an establishment with such relax rules on masks and distancing. Everyone seems to be doing their part except Forrest Creek. I will not be going back anytime soon.

Byron O.

Yelp
Best bang for you buck, $40 after 4pm. Great course, kept in great conditions and staff was friendly! Would definitely recommend!

Juan T.

Yelp
The staff were very friendly but the course conditions are horrible. The green conditions are horrendous with huge patches of dirt. Definitely not worth the price. After reaching out to management all they said was "they have a bad spell of algae" yet they don't adjust fees or give you a heads up of current course conditions. Really felt that management was taking advantage of non members. Do not recommend for the price.

Yelp
Haven't been here is 25 years but can't wait to go back. Played Friday 1/20 at 11:30. The staff here is AMAZING! Lived in Austin my entire life and have played pretty much everywhere and the folks at Forrest Creek are the friendliest ever! From the pro-shop guys, to the starter and marshals and on into the grill just a wonderful experience all the way around. Course was in great shape as well. Your green fee includes a small bucket of range balls, free sausage wrap and a beer, plus entered into a raffle! Played like sh** but it was a fantastic time all the same. Thanks y'all for a great experience!!

Yelp
Had not been to this course in a couple of years. Always liked it but thought it was a little pricey. Well my son got me to go back out for a twilight round of Flog on Saturday. What a great day. First off, the course is doing some over seeding for the fall but that really only affected the tee boxes if you were actually playing golf. They had the markers at the front of each tee box - who doesn't want a few yards given to them on each hole? But the thing that caught my eye and feels were the greens. Not sure what the Stimpmeter was on those bad boys, but they were as slippery as a sheet of ice. FAST! While that makes putting that much more difficult, it sure felt like the true actions of the greens were in charge and not a myriad of bumps, scraps and shoe marks. Very nice round on a very nice day. Thank you FC.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a Monday with the purpose I'd doing 2 things: hitting a few range balls and checking on a membership for 2021. Usually you have to get out of your car to have a bad impression but I just barely did before being stopped by the Chief of The Cart Barn alerting me "we're closed, got a tournament today". Okay, that's fine, but "what about the range?" It's closed, tournament today". And that's also fine, because I could never join there. Of a club selling memberships for $$$$ closed the course for a tournament, okay, that's not uncommon. But if you can't use the practice facility when you're having a tournament that leaves me out. Plus, the interpersonal skills of the guy, and his attitude, leave me and my family out. I didn't realize I was at Cypress Point. "No GOLF here, no practicing, no help...no SOUP for you, either". Amazing. Sources: "Forest Creek GC is hosting the US Open today. Don't even ask. They're having a tournament, and because it's the Round Rock Glee Club Open, you can't leave the parking lot.". Not a great impression.

Yelp
I like the updates to the course. It was extremely busy while we were there with friends from out of town. Lots of trees and the greens were new but a little slow. That weekend the course appeared to be flooded a little. Made it very difficult to walk with pushcart. Don't over water. I was hoping they would update the driving range and especially the fairways. Still too many overhanging trees as well. One should not have to contend with an overhanging tree limbs from tee box. The course has been improved but I don't view it as a $60-80 golf course. Might be best to catch a late afternoon. Tee time off of golf now or something. Single digit handicap.

Yelp
Read the reviews before you hopefully don't go here. Forest Creek has been my favorite course in this area especially since the renovation! I actually moved out of the state but came back to visit. During my visit I decided that I wanted to take my friend who has never golfed to the best course that I could think of. We were paired with two other men that were also playing a leisurely game of golf and were very nice. Unfortunately me and my friend's experience turned out to be a lot less than great. Although the group behind us had only caught up one other time (and if they would have been backed up we would have let them play though) the marshals came to talk to me and my friend four times. We kindly explained each time that we were fairly new to golf and that we were trying our hardest. We were even dropping in and skipping holes because we felt pressured. Telling a beginner "you're holding up the line so you need to play faster" is not enjoyable nor does it help that person play faster. We are both young Hispanic men with tattoos, and we couldn't help but feel like the marshals were only talking to my friend and I out of our group and additionally the people in front of us that we kept catching up to. Moral of the story, don't go here if you're POC, or not a fucking pro at golf because the "complaints" behind you get directed at whoever "seems to be holding the line." Btw we were stuck behind another group the entire time and the marshals never addressed them. Tell the marshals they should get a job at the DMV instead, maybe they'd be more helpful there

Yelp
I grew up playing golf in Palm Springs California and I believe I am a pretty reasonable person. I have played 100's of courses in my lifetime and have never been treated so poorly as we did today. Playing at Forest Creek GC today was by far the worst experience as a group of golfers could have ever had. We literally had put together several foursomes to play today and at $63-$74 dollars per person you would expect that the staff would be at least friendly and courteous, not at Forest Creek. All of our foursomes experienced the same harassment at every hole, the marshals have no idea who is paying their salaries. They came up to us on almost every hole and asked to play faster. Where are you going to go if you have a group in front of you? The Marshals continued to be at almost every hole and shot we played, if not in direct eye shot definitely in the peripheral. At one point they asked one of our foursomes to skip a hole only to have them have to wait to tee off due to the group in front of them. We all paid to play today 18 holes not 17 and we all came out the enjoy our Saturday but it was not going to happen. Even asking the Marshals to give us space they responded with a stern "No" at one point picking up players balls in play. We even went into Pro Shop at the turn and asked them to get the Marshals off of us but the just ignored the request. I have played at Forest Creek for the past 12 years and today marks the last time many of of will play there again. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TERRIBLE DAY AT FOREST CREEK!

Taylor P.

Yelp
Love this course, I have been playing there for the last 15 years. My wife has also accompanied me for many rounds there as a spectator without any issue. We booked a morning round on 11/7/2021 and the guy in the pro shop informed me that she would have to walk because I did not call ahead to let them know I had a rider and they didn't have enough carts. This dude must have been on some kind of power trip because when I went back into the pro shop to tell him to cancel our round, he was snapping at another patron about the price listed on the website vs what he was being charged. A quick website search showed the customer was right. Again, golf course is great but this is far from the first complaint I have heard about the staff.

Yelp
Awesome golf course, especially for the money!! I'm a member of a club and been playing golf most of my life, and to play a course of this quality for $50 (which includes range balls, a sleeve of balls, lunch, and a beer!) is a crazy good deal. Wish I lived closer, but I will be back for sure. Course is in great shape and it's a terrific layout.

Yelp
My company held a charity golf tournament here a few days ago. It is a private golf course located in the Forest Creek neighborhood up north in Round Rock. The location and property were beautiful. The course was super green and looked like it had been well cared for too. We used the club house for registration, silent auction, dinner and awards ceremony and it was a good fit for the amount of people we had. We had about 18 teams, which was around 75 golfers. Lunch was provided to the volunteers and I had the golfer's club, which really hit the spot! The crew that worked the concession area also did all the catering for the dinner part. They seemed well organized and did a great job at ensuring everything was brought out, stocked well and cleaned up. If you are looking to host a golf tournament like this I would definitely recommend considering this course!

Jeremy S.

Yelp
If you are a beginner Or a slower player, don't bother with this course. They will rush you nonstop making the game not enjoyable, and don't even do it professionally. Then they will feed you a line like "rule of thumb play at a slower time" which isn't right . You shouldn't be required to go at a time that works for them. Your money is as good as someone that has been playing forever and flys through the course. However here that is not the case. If you are a beginner learning or someone with issues that cause you to move slower they don't want you to play on your time but rather when convenient for them. Would not recommend this course to anyone, due to its staff and management. On a good note it is a beautiful course with great greens and challenging play, just don't expect to enjoy it if you are a little slower, they will give you the rule of thumb talk.

Yelp
What a thinking man's course! Sharp dog legs every where. The renovation to this course is FANTASTIC! Super smooth greens, beautiful fairways, lots of blind or semi blind tee shots. My foursome fell apart during the week but the staff at the club worked with me all week. By all means get the package deal, green fees and cart, small bucket of balls, sleeve of srixon balls, and a sausage wrap or hot dog and soda or draft beer at the grill! AND a raffle ticket for gear ranging from shirts to clubs depending on the day! FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY! Oh, did I mention I EAGLED the par 4 15th!‍

Dorian T.

Yelp
The course is decent but the golf superintendent or the course process needs definite improvement and refining. In an age where customer service is so important, sub par experiences like these are unacceptable. Being asked to rush when the group behind is more than entire hole behind is beyond unreasonable. To make matters worse though are when individuals do not listen want to listen to reason or common sense. You're in a business with customers, at least treat your customers with respect.

Brian R.

Yelp
Nice course with a friendly staff. Course was in pretty good shape, greens were great, tee boxes were in good shape. Had a great time golfing with my son. I recommend giving it a try.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
I thought the staff was great and incredibly kind and accommodating. Unfortunately I would struggle to recommend Forrest Creek, especially on a weekend. There was a tournament on Saturday and I think a couple of serious errors were made in how the tee times after that were managed. We had a 10:17 tee time and arrived at #1 at 10:15. There was no one on the tee box and had not been for about the past 10 minutes. So let's assume the last group came through at 10am. Unfortunately the starter waited until 10:25 when the final tournament group came through. This means that this particular group was playing TWENTY FIVE minutes behind the group in front of them. The starter had us wait for this last group to tee off. This was totally unacceptable. We were stuck behind this group an average of 10 minutes per hold. That's right, TEN minutes we would wait to tee off each hole. I watched them spend 25 minutes in the fairway on one hole. By the time we reached #5 we had been playing for almost TWO HOURS! We asked the group in front if we could play through and they lied by saying "we have been waiting on the group in front of us". I called BS. There was no other group in site. We finally drove through and skipped a hole. The next group we came across was on the green of #7. Again, so disappointed in the way they managed this tournament and subsequent groups teeing off behind them. We finally bailed out at the turn after 3 hours on the front nine.
google avatar

Kent S.

Yelp
I wanted to like this course. I read earlier reviews about a country club like feel. That must have been awhile ago. The first clue should have been when the starter said that they are going to pour a lot of money into the place and replace all of the greens. There is a good reason for that. The greens aren't really greens - they are more like concrete that might be painted light green. After chasing us around for the first five holes the ranger said you might as well just play the two putt rule once you are on the green! Well now I wish the pro shop would have told us that before we shelled out $52.00 for the round! Until they lower the price or do the renovations stay away from this course.
google avatar

Dave B.

Yelp
Very nice layout since they did the upgrade in 2018. This is a very nice course, not too tough but can be challenging if you don't place your shots properly.

Shane M.

Yelp
The course recently got $5M in renovations and it shows. Course conditions are much nicer and traps and greens are fantastic. We got a sleeve of balls, free range balls, a cup of chili, and a $1 draft beer with our very reasonable greens fee. Hard to beat that deal! Ranger was upfront about keeping pace of play and they have clocks every few holes showing you if you're keeping pace. This is great because it avoids the dreaded 5-6 hour round.
google avatar

Shea S.

Yelp
This has to be the scariest name for a golf course. I want nothing to do with forests or creeks when golfing, but Forest Creek is certainly a great place to play. Although Texas droughts often remove the creek element, this course can be pretty challenging (especially when windy). The layout is fun, and at times nicely creative, leaving you with some interesting decisions of whether to go for it or not. Even under tough weather conditions, I've found Forest Creek to always be in pretty nice shape. I've been playing here every now and then for over 10 years, and still enjoy coming back. Most recently I played FC as part of a charity scramble tournament, and they ran it wonderfully. Certainly a good option for hitting the links in the greater Austin area.
google avatar

Enoch L.

Yelp
My friend invited me to play a round with him up here. Yes it is a bit far from central Austin but not too bad on a Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect and the greens were well groomed. All the employees were very friendly and the venue was well maintained. Not much elevation change in the course but definitely some doglegs and water hazards to keep you thinking.

J K.

Yelp
$10 "Large" bucket of balls is equivalent to Small anywhere else. No ball baskets near the dispenser, had to hunt then down. PA speaker outdoors is very poor quality, was blaring, and it was impossible to understand what was being said. Chipping area was nice and very large with a nice green.

Eric W.

Yelp
Course is ok.. range balls are fairly new, and chipping practice area is nice. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because during the COVID pandemic, half the range was occupied by a cornhole tournament with tons of people wearing no masks. This left very little space between the people on the range who were actually there to play golf. Why the hell would you host a cornhole tournament on a golf course?? That's like people bowling on baseball field. Message to management... move the non-golf social events off the course and practice areas and let them play elsewhere. There's tons of land out there around the course, especially for large unmasked groups that don't care about giving others COVID.

Yelp
I've played at Forest Creek many times over the years. It's always been a decent, respectable track. However, since I started playing in their Central Texas Amateur Championship a few summers ago, my opinion has drastically improved. From what I can tell, this change in overall attitude and level of professionalism is a result of Head Golf Professional Matthew Marx's management. My experience in the Cen-Tex Am the last few years has been worth the entry fee without a doubt, and the same goes for every weekend round in between. That is, however, until this year. There was a new, older "gentleman" who was in the shop during the event. In what seemed to be a frustrating situation for the regular staff (who still handled everything with patience and professionalism), this guy, seemed to be on a mission to do everything his way. From the passing out of cart keys, to handing out range balls, and everything else along the way, he did everything opposite to how it had always been done, and was clearly set up for prior to the event. He was rude to the players, their family members who came to see them play, and to his co-workers, without concern for who heard. Any question anyone had, he seemed to give them this blank stare, and then say something either rude, or completely irrelevant to what they asked. It was truly surreal. Now, even with this guy, I would still highly recommended Forest Creek Golf Club. Their prices are about the same as the Austin Muni's, but it's a much better design and the conditions, especially the greens, are much better. I still plan to play in the Cen-Tex Am next summer, but I hope it's fully back in the hands of Matthew Marx and the regular staff. If so, I'll bump my review up to 5 stars!

Jimmy H.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing place to play, great place for a competitive or just to have a good time(the pace of play is better than average, around 4 hours, usually less). The service in the pro shop and restaurant is exceptional. A great price for the experience you receive! Out of the course selection in the Georgetown/ round rock area I would definitely recommend this place over teravista country club or the other surrounding courses.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Nice place if you are looking for a quick tee time accommodation. Staff was friendly, course was in decent shape.
google avatar

Fife D.

Yelp
First of all, the course is located almost in Canada. Who lives up there anyways? The green fee is pricey, and they dont serve liquor on the carts. Worst of all, the head pro (Chuck) is a major a-hole who wouldn't let us play a five-some on a slow Saturday when we begged him. We even told him we were all family in town for a wedding and he still threatened to kick us off the course. Without Chuck, I give them 3-Stars. With, they are lucky to get 2.
google avatar

Valere R.

Yelp
Out on the course today. Paid 52.00 per person and they came through to tell us to hurry up because they had a tournament starting. Well great but we paid a decent amount of money and you overbooked your morning. That's not our fault. I shouldn't feel rushed when out golfing. Takes the fun away from it.
google avatar

Adam C.

Yelp
This is a beautiful golf course and fairly challenging. It also has a bit of a private club feeling to it. There are a couple of really good holes. My favorite is #16, a dogleg right par 5 that is in the shape of a horseshoe. I've not walked the course yet but I can tell you that it is mostly walker-friendly. This course is also affordable.
google avatar

Bill W.

Yelp
I am a beginning golfer I recently used the golf pro at Forest Creek for lessons. I felt the quality of the instruction I received was absolutely excellent. Jeff Dayton, a PGA pro and the new manager of the course, was a fantastic instructor and he provided me with multiple building blocks for learning the game. I bought a 5 lesson pack that covered all areas of golf and I also received videos of my swing along with detailed analysis to really dissect the mechanics and point out areas that needed work. The course itself where I took the lessons was once struggling but has found new life. Since KemperSports took over the management of this facility, the maintenance of the course has greatly improved, as has the attitude and friendliness of the staff. The greens really suffered under the old leadership and the city has now undertaken a massive reinvestment that should really put the course on a level equal to or exceeding the other courses in the area.
google avatar

Lairah T.

Yelp
What can i say about the course. It is an amazing course to play on, it is full of challenges but you can over come them. Beeing a novice player i found it to be challenging but great fun. The greens where amazing, and very well kept up. I can't wait to to go and play another round of fun golf. Thanks for my greatest birthday party in a long time. I highly recommend this course if you haven't played go and try out your luck like i did today. Thanks for everything that i experianced today, this course will allow me to play a lot more in the near future. Once again it is a great course. GO PLAY!!!!!!
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
Went for the first time yesterday. Was very fun & peaceful! Although I would not recommend for beginner golfers... Learned that one the hard way.

Travis W.

Yelp
This place is the hidden gem of Austin/Round Rock area for golf courses and friendly communities. The staff is fantastic and service has good food and drinks. The pro shop is super friendly and the course has a stellar practice area that stays open a little later than others because they have stadium lights over driving range and practice green. I really like what they do for youth group classes. The staff is seriously great. They have trivia nights, cornhole competition, it is a great place to meet other friendly folks in the area. The course itself is a trail style golf course that meanders through a neighborhood with some low areas, creeks and water sheds, the outer rough and beyond has a good barrier thick with trees so it doesn't feel like you're in someone's backyard. The course was re-done a while back and is in great shape. I am happy to call this place my home course. Even if you live on the other side of town I recommend taking the time to pay a visit this golf course and tee it up. If you're living in the area, definitely consider a membership.

Yelp
Beautiful public course near Austin. Fairways and greens were in perfect shape. Challenging but not too tight. For the money, definitely one of the best deals in Austin.

Ralph O.

Yelp
Forest Creek is a GREAT layout because 1. The wide-ranging tee box choices make the course playable for anyone but provide plenty of challenge for those that choose to play the tips. 2. It makes the player think before hitting. Your choices actually matter here. 3. It tests all aspects of the game fairly equally and demands different types of shots (distances, shapes, trajectories) to really score well. You'll likely use all the clubs in your bag. This combination of factors make it a course that I can play often and not get bored with (in contrast to some of the other nearby courses). Condition varies from good to excellent through the course of a whole year. The practice / warmup facility is excellent and convenient. The value is good compared to our other area courses. Membership options are good but a bit too pricey for me to take advantage of.

Yelp
We played Forest Creek Saturday April 7th and were anticipating an enjoyable round, however it turned out to be anything but. The course conditions were certainly not what we were used to from Forest Creek. We played Falcon Head, Terra Vista, and Avery Ranch in the previous week and the condition of those courses was superior. I must say that Forest Creek usually is on par with those courses but that was not the case this time. The greens were very slow and the ball hopped quite a bit. The fairways also could have been in better shape; they were rough and had many dead spots. But this was not the worst of it. We had a 3:07 tee time and finished at nearly 8:00. This slow play was understandable given that this was the day before Easter. As far as we could tell we were the last ones on the course. We were a threesome but were joined by a single on the last couple of holes. Having completed our round we drove to our cars and unloaded the carts. By this time it was pretty dark. We drove the carts back to the cart return and parked them near the back along the wall, across from the kitchen (there were no other carts there). The kitchen looked closed, all of the chairs were on the tables but we went in to see if we could get a refill, which we did then we left. About 20 minutes later as I dropped off my brother I noticed I didn't have my wallet. I had left it, my cell phone, a Bushnell GPS/Rangefinder and my Ray Ban sunglasses in the cart. I immediately called the pro shop but there was no answer. I left a detailed message about the missing items. I was sick about the loss and later that night I sent 3 emails to the 3 email addresses available on Forest Creek's web page. In the morning I called the pro shop and talked to the Chuck, the Head Professional. I truly expected to hear that they had the items that I left in the cart and that I could come get them as soon as I wanted. I suppose my worst fear should have been a sympathetic Forest Creek Employee telling me that they had not located them. I got neither. After I gave my name and before I could manage to explain why I was calling Chuck lashed out at me telling me he had read my email and that he had looked for my stuff but couldn't find them. He immediately started to berate me about leaving them in the cart and how it wasn't their responsibility. I told him I didn't appreciate the harsh lecture and just had some questions about who would have seen them last. Chuck continued his assault. He angrily told me that there were a lot of people on the course that day and anyone of them could have taken my things. I tried to tell him that as far as we could tell there wasn't anyone around and we were the last golfers on the course. I further tried to explain that on the 16th hole my Brother in Law went back to retrieve a dropped glove which he found on the 13th tee box and didn't see any other golfers. Once again I was berated and told that no one there would keep anything found in the cart. However in my opinion what seems obvious is that someone who handled the carts that night or in the morning found the items. I think this because first it appeared that no one else was around. It was dark enough that I couldn't see the items in the cart as I drove it to the cart return area. I had parked it along the wall so the combination of dark and being so close to the wall I believe would exclude someone casually walking by from seeing the items. They would have had to intentionally be searching the carts to have seen all black items, in the dark (black cell phone, black wallet, black GPS/ Rangefinder case, and black sunglass case). Naturally I can't prove who took my things but I can make some logical assumptions. Also if I can't prove that a Forest Creek employee found the items then Forest Creek obviously isn't responsible for them but it would have been nice to be treated courteously and professionally by Chuck instead of being yelled at. I can't help but wonder if this has been an ongoing problem and that's why he was so defensive and rude. I am part of a threesome that over the past 6 or 7 years has made Forest Creek our primary course that we play. As I said earlier the course is usually in great shape and it is a challenging and fun course. The pro shop staff is usually friendly, professional and courteous. The cart and concession girls are also outstanding, so it is a major concern that when I lost nearly a thousand dollars in the cart I was treated the way I was. I don't know what the future holds but I'm not sure if I want to golf at a course that treats regular clients the way Chuck treated me. I would love to hear from anyone else who had a similar experience.

Yelp
A bit outside the Austin city limits but definitely worth the hike up north. We bought a deal on golfnow.com and paid $35/person for green fees, cart, and a free beer. The staff was very welcoming and we teed off on time. The course was in fantastic shape and fairly challenging with a lot of tree cover. I would have given this place 5 stars but couldn't do it mainly due to two things - no cart girl during the round and had to pay for range balls. All-in-all, I would highly recommend.

Yelp
I've worked in the golf industry for my entire career. Never have paid to play on a course with such horrible greens. Basically ditches in the greens. They tried to cover with dirt with probably made it worse. Greenskeeper should look for a new job. Layout is fine but you can't even finish a hole the way it is supposed to be. Just rough in general

Yelp
1st time here. very nice course. walkable but has moderate elevation changes. so you will get yo7r exercise in. greens and tee boxes where top notch. greens where slow but approach shots did not grab. very weird combination. but once that is figured out real easy to shoot low. just play smart. no need for driver every hole. even on some of the par 5s. leave driver in the bag. of i am ever in Austin again i will be back.

Yelp
I shouldn't let the cat out of the bag, but this place is just too good to keep secret. Absolutely the most professional and courteous staff you'll ever come across anywhere! The course itself is pretty challenging, but I'd say it's also very fair. This course never gets boring, and has always been well maintained, regardless of the season. The only drawback that I can think of are some of the locals (folks who live on the course) who sometimes are a little cold to the newbies. Other than that, you'll probably have a hard time finding a better course for your golfing dollar.
