The Fork & Spoon in New Braunfels is a fantastic brunch spot! The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. There was a bit of a wait for a table, but it was definitely worth it. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is friendly. Highly recommend for a laid-back, tasty meal!

Google
Went here for brunch and ordered the Jillian Eggs Benedict. It was so very delicious and totally worth it! What a great place for breakfast. Excellent service. Highly recommend this place.

Google
Service was just as great a the food, I'd highly recommend this place for a good breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Just make you feel good. Great job guys keep up the good work

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have visited this place numerous times and the service and food have been consistently on point! On this particular visit, William was our server, and he was excellent. He made sure our coffee was never low and was incredibly hospitable and attentive. My go-to meal is the Scott Schnitzel with oatmeal, and it is always delicious and satisfying. Highly recommend this spot for great food and fantastic service!

We went in for breakfast a couple of days ago. The customer service remains very good—our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and clearly working hard while managing multiple tables. She has been there for years, and it shows in her professionalism. Unfortunately, the food quality did not match the service. I ordered toast and two eggs over easy. The barely toasted toast arrived without butter, and the eggs were cooked very quickly, bubbled on top, and overcooked rather than over easy. They also lacked seasoning—salt and pepper would have helped, but I had to get up and look for condiments, including jam. We also asked for salsa. My partner ordered biscuits and gravy, which were just okay—not bad, but not memorable. The coffee, however, was below average and lacked flavor. I believe upgrading the coffee—perhaps offering better quality or flavored options—could really improve the overall breakfast experience and increase repeat customers. The cream was sitting out, and I later went home with a stomach ache, which made me question whether it was warm or possibly spoiled. Overall, the staff is still friendly, kind, and welcoming, and customer service remains a strong point. However, since the new owners took over, the flavor and quality of the food seem to have declined. I truly wish the food matched the level of service and what this place used to be. At this time, I’m not interested in returning, but I hope improvements are made because the staff deserves it.

Google
We all had a wonderful meal. The service was great prices were very good.. I do have to say that we each ordered a pastry and they need to up their game on their pastries. We ordered a cinnamon roll. It was $8 and really? I wouldn't have given you 50 cents for it and a cherry Danish. My friend took one bite, didn't go well, that was it and a cheese Danish NOPE. I think just stop serving those!!! That said the meals were delicious!!! Give it a try.You won't be disappointed... The jager schnitzel with mushroom gravy and the spatzal, was delicious!!!

Google

Google
This restaurant has been a family favorite of ours for well over ten years. We don’t get there as often as we’d like anymore, but when we do, it’s always felt special. We planned a visit today (New Year’s Day) and didn’t mind the wait, it’s always been worth it. Unfortunately, this visit was very different. I ordered my usual, something I’ve had many times before. Both my husband’s eggs and mine were severely underdone, to the point of being unappetizing. The green chile grits were completely unrecognizable, watery and lacking any flavor at all. The cream sauce on my crepes was overwhelmingly sweet, throwing the entire dish off balance. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I was genuinely shocked. Consistency and quality have always been what kept us coming back, and this experience felt like a complete departure from what we’ve known for years. I considered mentioning it to our server, but the restaurant was very busy and, honestly, I was too upset in the moment to have that conversation without it coming across the wrong way. I hate to say it, but after a decade of loyalty, this visit left me questioning whether we’ll return.

Yelp
Got there and the wait wasn't too bad. Around 15 minutes. Lots of seating inside! Ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict, stack of pancakes, and Chicken Fried Steak. First of all, the huge stack of 4 pancakes was only $9. My parents and I could've just eaten the pancakes and been satisfied. Holy cow. They were massive. Also, the eggs Benedict hollandaise sauce was creamy and delicious. Everything was balanced well. For drink, I got the pumpkin spice latte. So cute and delicious. We had extremely good service. The food came out quickly and our waiter was attentive and kind. I would 100% recommend coming again. Great service, quality food, affordable prices.

Yelp
This place has wonderful food. I just wish the service was the same. Enjoying great coffee while my waitress was horrible! I still tipped her $5 mind you! I am a huge believer when you treat your customers like shit! YOU DO NOT DESERVE A TIP! It's a good thing I don't know her name! But she is blonde and skinny! If you get her good luck! She screams at you and makes passive aggressive comments and remarks! I took my boyfriend here for the first time and we will NEVER be back. The chips we got were not cooked all the way, and she made us feel like we were an inconvenience!!! Gordon Ramsay says people talk with there feet. And we did just that today, walked out as fast as we could!!! We couldn't even enjoy the restaurant because we were in such a hurry to leave! Thank you so much for the shitty experience!

Yelp
The food is amazing and every time we are in New Braunfels this is our go to for Brunch. They have great wholesome comfort food and I highly recommend it! Because they make the best dishes it is no surprise that you will have a long wait before being seated, but it is so worth it!

Yelp
This is the second time coming here. We love the Jägerschnitzel with red cabbage, Spätzle, potato salad and fries. The red cabbage tasted delicious It was very flavorful and homemade and didn't taste like it came out of a glass jar already premade. The potato salad was a This is also delicious but some of the potatoes should have cooked a little longer. I love the bacon in it. the closest German food we tasted so far. The Schnitzel is huge compared to other places.

Yelp
Came with my dog at 10am on a Saturday - Unable to review the food or anything because they were so crowded that they have everyone just sitting waiting at the patio tables, meaning if you have a dog and have to sit outside on their dog friendly patio there's literally no where for you sit/wait. Also, if you're going to have people waiting on the patio to eat - why not just go ahead and serve them out there? Seems like a completely mismanaged situation and they are not time efficient or accommodating for dog owners despite claiming to have a a pet friendly patio.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast or lunch in New Braunfels! Always crowded but worth the wait!

Jailene C.

Yelp
A gentleman was our waiter he was very sweet and attentive I didn't get his name but he gave us a really good experience for our first time. Food was very delicious plates were pretty big and definitely worth the wait!

Yelp
Omas plate with French toast was AMAZING! The coffees were a little too sweet IMO. The server was quick and helpful. The restaurant was clean and nice! Will be back.

Sami D.

Yelp
Please note this restaurant illegally charges a surcharge for using a debit card which is illegal in Texas. What's worse, the charge is preloaded on the bill before they even know how you are going to pay in the obvious hope you will miss the extra charge and just pay it. Stand up for your rights. If you catch a business in Texas doing this, point it out and cite this if they refuse to remove charge: What are the laws on credit card surcharges in Texas? Two sections in the Texas Business & Commerce Code prohibit a seller from charging a fee when a buyer uses a credit or debit card as payment. These laws are in Sections 604A.0021 and 604A.002, respectively. $500 fine!

Yelp
Overall a good meal! We got the Opa's breakfast, chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and potatoes. The potatoes are amazing!!! If you like german-inspired breakfast I feel like this place is good for you. Service was good too!
google avatar

Yelp
Came in for breakfast on Memorial day weekend. The restaurant was very clean and simply decorated. The service was quick and friendly. I had the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs and it was absolutely fantastic! This is probably the best Chicken Fried Steaks I have had while in New Braunfels! Would definitely recommend for a breakfast or to any CFS lovers!

Yelp
Came here on a Friday morning and it was surprisingly busy. Only about a 12 minute wait though. I got the Monte Cristo. I was impressed! It was a big meal and plenty filling. It was great with syrup on the side. Classic diner feel inside. Our server was a sweetheart and helped us split the bill. A nice quick breakfast.
google avatar

Yelp
Really good experience here. Great service and ordered the egg white veggie omelette with fruit. Super delicious. Inside was nice and clean with friend patrons. Highly recommend

Yelp
We came back to is for breakfast and if anything it was better than it was for lunch. The homemade pecan butter on top of their French toast is absolutely incredible. This time I had the Shott schnitzel and it's basically wienerschnitzel with Hollandaise sauce which is very tasty. The potatoes I asked for crispy and I got very crispy potatoes. It was a great place for breakfast. I highly recommend
google avatar

Sydni M.

Yelp
Super cute breakfast spot! Our waitress was super nice and we tried the French toast everyone was reviewing. The French toast alone was worth the visit. My salted caramel latte was good!

Carson C.

Yelp
The vibe is amazing in here and it smells really good. Our waiter was super kind friendly and helpful and respectful. This food was so good I have never had a Philly cheesesteak omelette and it was a 10 out of 10!

Yelp
While ducking out from the front end of hurricane Beryl, we checked into a New Braunfels diner. The kids love all day breakfast places and went straight to pancakes. I tried their German fare. I got the Texas schnitzel which was the fried port cutlet with a Texas sauce (cream gravy with onions and jalapenos). It was pretty good, not a spicy the Germans I know would be used to. The Pan Crepes was topped with a cream anglaise sauce with strawberries, pecans and powdered sugar. It was light and tasty. They also come in half servings making them possible as an add on. They do have a patio, which would be great in the mornings, but was being drenched because of the rains. While we were waiting, I also tried their carrot cake. It was ok, but went well with the coffee after dinner. Michael M priced an egg-cellent, server and was amused as we played Disney trivia with the kids. There weren't too many booths in the inside, and I imagine it is full in the mornings and for brunch on weekends. I looked at the menu I'd want to try more . It's a good spot.

Yelp
I ordered the bacon avocado omelet the food was so delish the waitress was amazing and the place was so cute it was a 15 minute wait but the food was worth it The location is next to micheals and they have a cute outdoor patio They have a bar as well loved this place will be coming back again

Yelp
To whomever our sweet waitress was, Terra (our doggie) is all better! We came here after spending a night at one emergency vet and then ending up at the animal hospital next door. Our sweet waitress saw how exhausted and bedraggled we were and made sure we never ran low on coffee! The service was attentive and reasonably fast for how crazy busy and full all the tables were. The food was hot, filling, and comforting. You can tell by the ambiance, food, and service that this is a local place at heart, with the goal of serving good food to people to make them feel good. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Cute place in New Braunfels. Wait time for breakfast on a weekend was about 30 mins which is to be expected. Inside was clean, nice. The back area had a fireplace going which is adorable for this time of year. Food was delicious did not take long to arrive considering they were pretty packed. Only thing that was not the best was the caramel late I had (not pictured). It could have been a little hotter, stronger and maybe filled up more than cup was. Presentation was good though in the mason jar with handle. They do offer water outside for customers. It's in a big container. I'd be careful if you drink from there. During my visit there were children opening it and putting their hands in it. It was removed once staff was alerted but who knows how long that was going on for. Definitely recommend. Just stay away from the water

Yelp
The salad was a hit, the veggie cream soup was amazing, the pancakes were decadent, sadly my turkey and avocado sandwich was disappointing but there was enough food to go around that I picked at everyone else's plates. Also, the service was great.

Yelp
When in New Braunfels with a hankering for great brunch food we ALWAYS eat at Fork and Spoon! Fresh food served fast in a fun atmosphere. Yummy!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and when I come here for breakfast, it's delicious every single time no matter what I get. This time was French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, and crispy potatoes washed down with a latte. Service is also top-notch. Get there early because they fill up fast and for good reason-they serve a darn good breakfast consistently.

Yelp
Met up with my friend at this place and of course since it was Sunday it was really busy. One thing to note is the Hostess telling me it was 50 minutes wait time which at that point we were ok since every place was going to be like that. However, not sure why she felt the need to spell it out for me as 5 0... yeah i understood you the 1st time..so that was a little off putting. The waitress we had she turned it around for me. She was very bubbly, friendlyand efficient. The french toast was AMAZING and the Montecristo sandwich too. Cute little breakfast spot.
google avatar

Yelp
A great brunch place ! The wait was a bit long but I would say it was worth it. My visit included my family of 5. The service we received was wonderful. I was able to take picture of our meals. Warm comfort food found here. A mix of German and American cuisine. This restaurant is actually pretty small but they make it work and not crowded. Something I loved was that the syrup for my pancake came in a warm bottle and I really enjoyed that haha. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because end of service the check still has a "credit card charge" from Covid. ( bring cash if you can) It's 2024 the owner should definitely change that.

Yelp
Bratwurst is great!. Service and ambience are great! Wife had chicken fried steak mmmm

Yelp
This restaurant is pretty good. Service is subpar usually. We like their breakfast and my husband loves the meat loaf. It is always packed. I wish they were open later.

Michael N.

Yelp
I visited when the restaurant was completely empty, so it was quiet and relaxed. I have seen people waiting outside to get in during the morning hours, so this is not usual. As I ate my meal other people did start coming in. The staff and hosts were all very pleasant and welcoming. I tried the Monte Cristo French Toast, which was good with nice flavors, but not something I would specifically come back for. That said, the menu had a lot of interesting options, so I would definitely return to try something different next time. Solid experience overall - 4 out of 5 stars.

Yelp
Today I split the Texas schnitzel and the Mediterranean skillet with my sister. Both items were absolutely delicious! The Texas schnitzel came with two sides; we got the cheese spatzel and the French fries. The cheese spatzle was like Mac n cheese but better. The Mediterranean skillet was the best thing by far!! The chicken in it was flavorful, there were lots of veggies, and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. The side of bacon was yummy & not too crisp. (I love soft bacon!!) I do have to say that the crepes my friend got were very small and the service was not very good. The hostesses were nice but our waiter was rude and didn't refill our water cups.
google avatar

Pritha A.

Yelp
What can I saythis is the perfect place to start your day with their very own blend of coffee, follow up with their "Everything Good", menu, I had their Crepe Pancake with their very own side order of fries! don't make me want to come back... got a long drive ahead. Thank you for making my day beautiful

Yelp
Been back here five times and man the service is exceptional. Food is great. I'm just proud to have a place I go and eat and enjoy my lunch.

Yelp
Fast service and great food. Never had a bad experience but much better to go during the week. Long wait on weekends!

Yelp

Yelp
Jaeger schnitzel cheese and veggies. Great place morning and night. Good service and I'm afraid under served at night. There wasn't hardly anyone here.

Andrew K.

Yelp
Very excellent , everything is very good. The seasoning is on point. The restaurant is very clean.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Great authentic food. Staff rocks. Can't recommend enough. Breakfast or Brunch for the win!!!!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
First time there for breakfast. Great friendly service. Amazing Mediterranean omelette and eggs benedict were wonderful! And the homemade biscuit, soft and flaky! Coffee could be stronger. Potatoes were way overcooked, but they took care of that. They're running a "temporary" $.50 extra per egg, so ... beware. Definitely going back!

Yelp
Not my favorite place to go for breakfast or brunch in New Braunfels for many reasons. The host said nothing to me when I had arrived. He sat me at a table. Morgan, the waitress, had arrived and took my order, french toast with sausage and bacon. I also added cherries. Food arrived. The bacon was cooked to my liking, not crispy and the sausage was also good. The french toast had a couple of huge scoops of butter. I removed the butter since I'm not a fan of it and poured the cherries on top of the french toast and drizzled some of the maple syrup too. The french toast was okay. I've had better elsewhere. Morgan brought me the check. I wasn't pleased about a convenience fee being added. The french toast also was overpriced, $12 and some change. I had paid the total and Morgan asked if I had wanted my change. I told her yes then she brought back my change and I continued drinking my water. Just a few minutes later,Morgan attempted to steal my change from my table but I quickly stopped her and said something . The host was not very friendly nor knew how to greet people. If you decide to dine at Fork and Spoon keep in mind that the restaurant tacks on a convenience fee.

Yelp
My daughter and I were visiting antique shops in the area and decided to grab a bite to eat. We searched for breakfast spots, and found this place. Not disappointed at all... nice place and great fast service.
google avatar

Susan A.

Yelp
Great spot for a hearty breakfast. Akin to a diner vibe with friendly service and generous portions. The food came out hot and fast. Cozy, no-frills atmosphere that feels welcoming. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Doretta W.

Yelp
It has been a long time, but they have not missed a beat. The service was friendly and fast. The waitress knew the menu well. I could not decide between breakfast (they serve all day) or lunch. Well, why not both? I ordered a half plate of French toast and a small Waldorf chicken salad. The French toast is thick, and the custard has amaretto in it. The chicken salad was creamy and very tasty. Loved the pesto vinaigrette. The prices were very reasonable.

Yelp
I had a really amazing experience at this spot and I'm super happy it has new ownership. David, the chef was super nice and provided excellent customer service. Being German, I asked if their Spätzle were homemade prior to ordering. The waiter said yes, but I let my doubts fool me and ordered something else instead. I guess the Chef and owner, David heard about it and came out personally to bring us our food and at that time he asked if I would like to sample the Spätzle, because they are homemade. I was really impressed by that and they were absolutely delicious. The food was great and I am very picky when it comes to my German dishes all the staff was inviting and just provided exemplary customer service.

Yelp
Stopped here last weekend for brunch. Food was delicious. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. Description said Italian style meatloaf, not sure what that meant but it was great. It came smothered in a mushroom brown gravy and 2 sides. The green beans were cooked perfectly with bacon bits and onions. The kids had breakfast. Couldn't get pictures it was good so fast. Pancakes were huge, soft and fluffy. Will definitely be back to try more on menu. Service was good, had to wait to be seated but didn't mind, just walked around nearby shops.

Yelp
Since we weren't going to be able to get together for Easter, my wife and I decided to meet up with our son and his wife in New Braunfels on Saturday. Our youngest son went along for the ride. When we picked them up, they said we were going to the Fork and Spoon. They did not take reservations or have a wait list, but we only had about a ten minute wait on the patio in front of the restaurant before being called to our table. I need to say that I really liked the menu. They had so many delicious choices, including a full breakfast menu that you could order from all day. I opted for jagerschnitzel, a favorite of mine. I upgraded my sides to spaetzle with cheese and Bavarian potato salad. I liked everything, but next time I will get the regular spaetzle. The cheese was a little too much for me. My youngest ordered a different schnitzel that had a sunny side up egg and hollandaise sauce on it. He said it was great. My other son and my wife got the Monte Cristo off the breakfast menu. It really looked good, but it was not fully battered and fried the way I like Monte Cristos. Both of them said it really was a delicious sandwich. My daughter in law ordered french toast, which looked amazing. I would definitely go back to this restaurant. Like San Antonio, New Braunfels has restaurants opening all the time. We almost always go to new venues when we visit. Still it is nice to remember places like this for a revisit when the opportunity presents itself.

Yelp
Ok, I was hungry and couldn't take the pic of my Chicken Fried Steak BEFORE I tore into it! Tracy was our server and described the CFS when asked as a hand battered and dipped delight! She had me at hand battered! My wife and I go to Fork & Spoon fairly often but have never tried the CFS. I had the breakfast plate which was CFS, potatoes, two eggs and a biscuit. I added two strips of bacon as well. Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs Plate 9/10 - the CFS was VERY good!! It was a thicker cut of tenderized meat (which I like) that was really hand breaded. The flavor of the meat and crust was excellent. Fairly tender and not over crusted. I'm a CFS snob and this was one of the best ones I've ever had! The eggs were ordered over medium and they were spot on. Potatoes were tasty. The biscuit came out fluffy and hot. Bacon is always good there! Service 8/10 - Tracy always takes care of us when we are in her section. Always friendly, attentive and smiling. To be fair, everyone that has ever waited on us there is the same way. Atmosphere 8/10 - we love sitting by the fireplace in the cooler months. Very cozy. If not by the fire, the booths are comfortable. It's got a charm to it that seems inviting. Overall 8/10 - we definitely recommend Fork and Spoon as a must try restaurant in New Braunfels!! You won't be disappointed with their extensive menu options.

Yelp
If you haven't been to Fork and Spoon then go immediately! I had heard about the French toast and decided to try it out with my Dad. We came about an hour after they opened on a Saturday morning, but they already had a 25 minute wait which will tell you something. We were seated pretty quickly and the server was super nice and helpful with telling us about the menu. The French toast is made with their I'm house challah bread and it's delicious. I got the chicken fried chicken breakfast plate and I ate every last bite. The chicken batter was light and crispy and everything was full of flavor. I will definitely be back to eat here!

Amanda A.

Yelp
Not kid friendly AT ALLLLLL!! Don't recommend if you have kids ! The cleaning lady told us the managers had been watching us on the cameras and to have our kids not playing or walking around when absolutely nobody was in the restaurant, which is the creepiest thing to just have managers watching and then having their servers come tell us that kids cannot walk around or play
google avatar

Melissa E.

Yelp
First and probably last time going here. The food was ok but the service was what was not great. After a 25 minute wait (which was expected), 4 of us ordered breakfast food. My daughter and I ordered coffee and water, my son ordered a soda, my bf ordered an orange juice and water. Only 1 water came. Not a big deal, but we attempted to flag people down at least 4 times and the staff walked completely and directly by us without even acknowledging the polite hand up and the "excuse me". You shouldn't have to repeatedly try to flag somebody down to get something you ordered in the first place. We also wanted a soda refill and waited til we were almost done to get that, because our server did not check back or have his eye on our drinks at all. We were never offered warm ups on our coffee, which I've thought is kind of standard for a breakfast place. Our breakfast was $100 for 4 of us. The food was ok but won't be going back to pay that much for ok food and not having the basics with the service.

Yelp
Pros: - The food was good. The french toast was perfectly moist and had a melt-in-your-mouth flavoring. The eggs were fluffy and the bacon was crisp on the edges, while being soft towards the center without the edges being burnt. - They use nice/premium to-go containers, which are plastic vs. styrofoam and arguably more sustainable due to their ability to be re-used. - Food wait times were much more accurate than seating wait times. It seems like they over-quote seating wait times, which I guess it's better to over-estimate than under, but see point #1 under cons. Cons: - This place has obviously overgrown this location and it's leading to a pretty bad customer experience because they stay on a wait (minimum wait time I heard quoted was 30 minutes, extending up to 60 -- we were quoted 45-60 minutes initially). When you have available space in the shopping center, the owners should be considering moving to an appropriately-sized space as you can't truly measure how much business you're losing walking people who can't/don't want to wait. For reference, we were attending a movie nearby and couldn't wait but decided to eat our meal in the lobby/waiting area. It was colder this day, so the inside waiting space was overly packed and the people who chose to wait but couldn't find seating indoors, unfortunately had to wait outdoors. Even the bar only had a single seat. - There's no combo with a french toast, eggs and bacon. That seems like a pretty basic breakfast combo. Yet there IS one for pancakes (the Fork and Spoon Plate for $12.49). That mean's you'll spend $14.49 to make the Oma Plate (1/2 french toast, eggs and potatoes) similar to this basic combo. Because of this, I did a 1/2 order of french toast, bacon and eggs (see next point). - Everything is charged A LA CARTE. So that $14.49 for the Oma plate just referenced is before a $1.00 surcharge ($0.50 per egg) and before adding $1.50 per slice bacon (subtotal $18.49). Because of the way the menu is laid out and the fact that I didn't want potatoes, everything al a carte was $1.50 per slice of bacon (x2 slices), $2.50 per egg (x2 eggs) and $6.39 for 1/2 french toast, which is one slice. Subtotal $14.39. - Employees don't know the menu. Asking about substitutions, etc. the employee was unsure about a lot. She essentially had to try to ring it up to tell us if combinations were possible and/or the cost which reveals that this a la carte setup is just as counter-intuitive for employees as it is customers. When the tap-to-pay wasn't working, the employee was also unaware that the handheld pay terminal had a slot for chip-based pay. - The employee helping us also didn't mention the rewards program, which has a 10 point bonus + your tab subtotal (1 point per $1) just for signing up. The rewards program scale is also severely slanted. You have to spend $100 to get $5 off, which is not that rewarding TBH.
