The 30 Best Restaurants in Boise, Idaho | Eater

"When people visit friends or family in Boise, they almost always end up at Fork. A sister restaurant to Alavita, also located in the Boise City National Bank building, Fork offers a wide-ranging menu of locally sourced dishes. It also checks a lot of other boxes: taco Tuesdays, burgers, and on weekends, buttermilk fried chicken and waffles or slow-roasted prime rib." - Scott Ki

‘Late Show’ Writer Kate Sidley’s Grub Street Diet

"A Boise restaurant ideal for sharing dishes, where the group tried many appetizers (the asparagus fries are singled out as amazing) and the author ate a large prime-rib sandwich that tasted great but was surprisingly heavy before outdoor activity." - Alan Sytsma

Great place for a date or just to meetup with friends. Food is high quality and mostly a different spin on the traditional and with locally sourced ingredients. Tonight, I had the burger, which I highly recommend. Wife got the rainbow trout which she was quite pleased with though the portions were too huge to finish. Desert we had the butter cake which was delicious but also huge. Nice atmosphere. Beautiful old Boise look situated right on the main walk street with all the other restaurants. It was a quick 2 minute Lime scooter ride from our hotel. Be sure to reserve a table via Open Table as it gets busy.

Google
4-stars all around. We decided to walk around downtown Boise. Frankly, I was impressed. They did a good job laying out the restaurants and shops around the university area. The Fork was American cuisine done with the farm-to-fork (table) principle. We ordered the wagyu beef sliders 🍔 the fig salad 🥗 braised beef 🥩 and their famed butter cake 🍰 plus cocktails 🍸 of course. All good! Wished we also tried the asparagus fries 🍟 😉 The service was attentive and just right. This is definitely recommended if ever you’re in the Boise area. There are other interesting restaurants there to try to.

Stopped in for lunch at The Fork and had a fantastic experience. We started with the grilled cheese and tomato bisque appetizer—super comforting, perfectly crispy, and great for sharing. For my main, I went with the smash burger, and it absolutely delivered—juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. It was a little on the salty side, but honestly so good that I think it should be a permanent menu item. The atmosphere is one of my favorite things about The Fork: set right in the heart of downtown Boise with gorgeous flowers surrounding the patio. We grabbed an outdoor table, which was perfect for a sunny afternoon, but the interior is just as impressive—housed in an old bank, with a cool lounge downstairs where you can actually sit in the vault. Our server, Ramon, was AWESOME. Super polite and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and keeping our water glasses full (which was much appreciated on a hot day). Overall, The Fork is a top-notch lunch spot—delicious food, excellent service, and a setting that always feels a little bit special.

Google
A great bar/ restaurant or maybe it's a restaurant/ bar. In any case you will not be disappointed as they hit the mark in both categories!! The chicken waffles will knock your feathers off!! The drinks will tip your scale! And the staff will delight you with good conversation.

Google
I tried the braised beef with a house salad. It was very good, not great. Quality salads, mixed greens. We also had trout, again very good. Also, salad with smoked salmon, very good and the roasted chicken was better than I expected. The outside seating was perfect. Service was good, waiter not much personality.

The wife and I really enjoyed our lunch visit here. Everything was solid, and the place itself is a really great space to enjoy a drink or dining experience. Wife got a lemonade cocktail and I noticed they had a great selection of local craft beers, and I chose the Sawtooth Idahome IPA. I am a cheesy guy by nature, so decided to have the fondue style grilled cheese with tomato soup. Wife chose the chop salad, and we shared the fries (the rosemary parmesan ones). Both were good, especially mine since I thought it was a good twist on presentation. I was told that I won the food battle for the meal. The atmosphere was energetic but classy, and I could see this place might be a lot of fun at night. Again, everything was pretty solid. I always explain my 4's (and try not to post any 3's or below, because I got on this platform only to broadcast positivity towards establishments), and I think we caught the salad greens on an off day, and we just didn't get the warm and fuzzy from the bartender on duty. It was efficient service, but was missing that welcoming, nice-to-meet-you service. But, this place is still a must stop for your Boise adventure, we definitely WILL come back the next time we are in town, and it is right in the heart of all of the fun on 8th. I highly recommend this place, and see you there (well, the next time we are in Boise)...

Google
One of my favorite restaurants when in Boise. I have visited for both business lunch meetings and with the family. Creative menu, great presentation, and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend!

Google
The best eggs Benny I have ever had! They were braised short rib Benny. The spicy Marg was spicy and delish! The burger was good, a bit over cooked for asking for medium. The atmosphere was nice, we set up a reservation for Saturday at 11:00 and did not need it. Overall the food was awesome. The server...why not great. Just slow and took his time. It ended up being a long brunch just because of him. We will be back!

Indica M.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was sooo good! The wagyu sliders were absolutely amazing! Beautiful building and very friendly and attentive service. 10/10 would recommend and we will be back anytime we are in town for sure!

Yelp
Came in for dinner on a week day after a day of driving and found this cool former bank, now a restaurant. We got seated after waiting about 8 minutes. We ended up ordering three appetizers. The sliders, the potato salad, and the Brussels sprouts. The potatoes salad is a pretty large portion for an appetizer. It's was perfectly cooked and topped with fried potatoes sticks. So it soft and crunchy. A nice touch. The sliders area basically typically slider. The 2 sliders were good just enough for us. The Brussels sprouts portions were also generous, the sprouts were well done and a bit crispy and tender, however the balsamic reduction was a bit too much. If you like them drenched in sweetness then you'll love it. I needed my slider to cut down the excessive sweetness. Overall, it was a pleasant dinner and I was happy with the generous portions. Our waitress was great and came by a few times to refill my water.

Yelp
The very definition of Boujee. I've lived in the Treasure Valley long enough to consider myself an honorary local. (Alaska is still where my soul belongs) and this restaurant has gone from fun and affordable to "expensive because in expensive part of town". Location: central Boise, rubbing shoulders with Ruth's Chris, Bittercreek and many long standing establishments that have been around since before the street was closed to auto traffic and before Freak Alley was just an alley. Competition is fearce for weekend dining. Restaurant: Interior is well lit. Exterior dining option is mixed with a lovely patio, but being seated on patio furniture for dining is not a comfortable experience. Seriously, ditch the wicker lounge chairs. Theyre falling apart and many of ours had sharp edges that snagged our Sunday church clothes. Menu: All fresh and local food. Food: All that fresh and local food is crafted into culinary abominations and gastric gut bombs. Chicken and Waffles used to be the star of the show here and really popularized this place way back when. It was one of the main draws. Now, boujee. The waffle is some corn bread abomination, overburdened by an over breaded chunk of chicken, topped with an egg. And inexplicably, resting in a puddle of spicy crema, topped with...... shredded parm? The syrup that was offered was way too sweet. Each bite I took was an inexplicable game of flavor roulette as I actively avoided the crema that seemed to get lost its way to finish a taco. What is going on here? Kids food ranged between edible and completely inedible because the burger bun was too hard. Service: slow and indifferent. Overall: Just because its "farm to table" doesn't mean that it'll be good. The flavor experimentation that's going on in the kitchen needs a cease and desist letter. Focus on freshness and known good flavor combos guys, stop trying to be something that locals dont want.

Yelp
I was visiting Boise and decided to stop by this place for lunch. Holy Cholesterol! This may be just a regional thing (I'm from the East Coast) but the food is served drenched in sugar, butter or fat. No matter what you order (except the salads, perhaps), it's served drowning in heavy cream, cheese or gravy. And don't forget the salt - pour in half a box maybe? I ordered the shrimp and grits and was shocked to find ground beef and melted cheese mixed with the grits. I never asked for this. When I was in Savannah, I had a traditional shrimp and grits and it was delicious. Here, it's like they're afraid the taste of shrimp or grits are too "mild" to stand on its own and overcompensate. The giant glob of orange and yellow on my plate seemed designed to blow a few blood vessels. As if the dish wasn't heavy enough, they serve it with deep fried cheese crisps on the side. This dish should have been called "cheeseburger shrimp and grits". My friend's beef ribs dish was also heavily salted and dripping in grease. Ditto my burger. We ordered brussels sprouts that were so sweet I thought they had been marinated in Pepsi. Any vegetables they serve are fried to high heaven and heavily salted, of course. I have high blood pressure and deeply regretted going here. I was fooled by the "farm to table" allusion, thinking it was reminiscent of East Coast artisanal places where the freshness of the food takes precedence, and everything is lightly grilled or basted. What a mistake. This is crude Paula Deen Diabetes Friendly Country Cooking, where mammoth sticks of butter and grease are mixed into every dish like candy. The worst kind of bar food, heavily fried and sauced to soak up the alcohol (sauce for the sauced). Ugh. My blood vessels are straining as I write this.

Yelp
Came to Fork on a whim! Everything was delicious! I had the bahn mi and upgraded to fries. My server, Becca, was a total delight. Helped me choose wine and let me know what she thought was delicious. She also gave me some fun tips on things to see Boise. I'm just passing through, but I had a great experience at Fork and would happily return!

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner while visiting Boise. This is our 2nd time to Fork, we stopped in last year while visiting Boise as well. We arrived about 1 hour before closing and the hostess sat us outside in a booth on their patio. The patio is situated right on the main walkway but is surrounded by foliage and flowers so the people walking by are not a distraction. It's very nice. I didn't catch our servers name but he was attentive and never left us waiting for anything. Unfortunately he must have been having a bad night as he clearly didn't want to be there. He never smiled and was a bit impatient when we asked questions about the menu. With that being said, he wasn't a bad server. Everyone has a bad day. We were not super hungry as we stopped at another restaurant prior for drinks and appetizers so we decided to share several plates. We ordered Moscow mules and a glass of wine to start. I will say the wine pour was a little small for the price of the wine. Asparagus fries- crispy and cooked perfectly. Delicious. Tomato Basil Fondue & Grilled Cheese - Delicious. I loved the way they serve the melted grilled cheese sandwich. Wagyu sliders. Really tasty but they were overcooked a bit. Fresh soft bun as well. Shrimp and grits. Could have used a bit more seasoning but the flavor was good and the shrimp cooked perfectly. Potatoes with crispy onions. Great! We liked the food and sitting out on the patio. I'm glad we decided to dine again at Fork while visiting Boise.

Yelp
First meal while visiting Idaho from out of state! Exceptional farm-to-table and locally sourced food! It's the real deal, friends. From the fresh produce made into a winter grain salad to rainbow trout. This salad has quinoa, farro, kale, red cabbage, dried cranberries, sliced almonds in a peach and bourbon vinagrette. Healthy and delicious! The Idaho rainbow trout is perfect--tender, flaky and tasty. Their signature warm butter cake is very popular for good reason. Vanilla ice cream, fresh fruit, warm butter cake w/berry coulis is dessert gold that just melted in my mouth! The hubby and I were well impressed with the food here and excellent service from Halle. We'd love to eat here again when in town. 5 stars! PS: the outside around them is pretty too with lots of lovely flowers.

Yelp
Good service and great food - the perfect combo. Really enjoyed the fried asparagus appetizer; huge portion and perfectly fried. Both entrees were very good and I recommend them both: Idaho rainbow trout (delicious, tender and fresh) and roasted half chicken (tasted like butter!) with Brussel sprouts.

Yelp
Great food, mimosas and ambiance. Asparagus appetizers were delicious and the wagyu sliders were outstanding! Thank you! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
I was in Boise on a work trip and we ended up at Fork for dinner on a Saturday night. We did not have a reservation but were able to be sat right away at the bar/island area. Our server was quick to take our order and was very attentive. I was not very hungry so I just got fries and a Diet Coke, but let me tell to, these fries were amazing. The rosemary was such a lovely touch. I would love to come back for the asparagus fries because they looked amazing. The atmosphere is a step up from casual but still relaxed. Fair prices.
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Menu selection is fantastic and we loved our dinner. We tried the Brussels sprouts and potato salad for starters. Wagyu sliders and ban mi. Everything was good. Matt our server was the best. He was attentive and helpful.:)
google avatar

Charmaine G.

Yelp
The only reason I give it a four star was because the wait was long. Although we sat at the bar for quicker service. The place is lively as expected. The bar area was really pretty. I had the Short Rib plate and ordered the Brussel sprouts. The Short rib was amazing. The Brussels were delicious. I had a glass of Huston's Rosé wine. Heaven on my tongue.

Yelp
We arrived on a Tuesday and the restaurant was full but we sat at a tall bar table which was perfect. It was a little loud but we could hear each other. We were served quickly. My girlfriends split the raviolis and they each had mixed house salad. I snuck a bite, loved the pickled onions and the balsamic dressing was delicious. I had the Bánh Mì and it was good. I'm use to a bun that is softer but the roll soaked up the sauce and the moisture from the sauce made a perfect complement. I have a cracked crown and it wasn't too hard. Our waitress was perfect. Our water glass was always full. I'm already looking forward to our next visit. Don't miss the Raspberry Clove cocktail!

Yelp
Really fun spot with creative options. I can't remember the last time I ate anywhere with such a unique version of otherwise common foods. In all my years of eating (and over eating), I've never eaten grilled cheese and tomato soup fondue style and I've never had asparagus fries! Not only did I have a great restaurant experience, I have 2 new favorite foods.

Yelp
Yo...this place is . Service was good, a bit slow in my opinion, but what made up for it was that the food was aaaahhhhmazing!! We got the Brussel Sprouts and asparagus fries for appetizers, and I got the roasted chicken with brussel sprouts and that was amazing!! Don't skip out of that butter cake either!! The inside was very wood and sage themed so very casual and dim lighted. Outdoor patio was a bit smelly so we opted inside. Other than that...id return 100%

Yelp
Everything from welcome to goodbye of our FORK experience was fantastic. We shared the fondue, asparagus, Southwest salad, and brownie. Everything was top notch, servers were excellent, and the environment was warm and welcoming. Do not eat here without ordering the tomatoes basil fondue, we had gluten-free and it was fantastic!! Will definitely be back...
google avatar

Yelp
So good! The butter cake is a must order. The food is always fresh and never disappoints!

Yelp
Loved this place. Everything about it. Food was excellent- I had the crispy chicken bacon sandwich. Bomb. My daughter had the grilled cheese fondue- she loved it. We sat outside and it was lovely. Our server was attentive, helpful and though it's irrelevant- beautiful. Would go back any time I am in Boise.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend the asparagus fries! Sit outside it's lovely!!
google avatar

Yelp
In the cutest part of town with perfect outdoor seating. We sat outside on comfortable furniture and had amazing service. Quick and our waitress was super nice. We ordered the fried asparagus after seeing everyone rave about it, and it was so worth it. Big portion for everyone to share and perfectly fried. I ordered the grilled cheese fondue and it was so good, it is definitely a must order. If you're looking for good food and vibe, this is your place.

Yelp
Great historic building in downtiwn Boise. Lots of character and decor. Chose to sit outside on this beautiful sunny day. Only bad thing was the flies. Not their fault. Server was excellent. Attentive and nice. Fried artichoke appetizer was good and especially the dipping sauce. Salmon chopped salad was delicious but the salmon is also chopped and a bit on the fishy side. Their version of the BLT was the best tasting dish. Fries were just ok. Needed more time in the fryer. Son had the burger. Said the cheese and everything else was flavorful but the burger patty needed more seasoning. Would try again.
google avatar

Savannah G.

Yelp
Food is good! Albeit a little expensive!! My husband got the wagyu smashburger and said it was very good but just a tad messy!! I had the seared ahi that came with some type of potato pancakes. One of them was burnt but the other was delicious. There's a parking garage nearby and it wasn't hard to get to. I liked the atmosphere at this place and the service was also good.
google avatar

April A.

Yelp
First time at The Fork. Inside is welcoming with tall ceilings and woodwork to make it a nice welcoming feel. Food was good and fresh for lunch.
google avatar

Hailey M.

Yelp
I LOVE this place. One of the best restaurants in Boise! First thing you need to know - order the butter cake!! Doesn't matter what else you do, you need to have the butter cake. It is the most beautiful, moist, warm, cozy cake I have ever had in my life. I don't have a picture of it because we always eat it too fast, but it's a beautiful yellow cake with ice cream and a berry sauce. AMAZING. Now for the actual food - I always get their house burger with their rosemary truffle fries. Absolutely amazing. I will never ever get anything else.
google avatar

Taylor W.

Yelp
Fork is at the top of my list of restaurants in Boise. I love that this restaurant uses farm to table ingredients and sources many of their ingredients locally. Some of my favorites on the menu are their red wine braised short ribs, the Idaho rainbow trout, or the BAM Sammy. They also have great shareables, namely their house chips, their asparagus fries, or their veggie of the moment. You can't go wrong with any of their food but my personal favorite is their signature warm butter cake. You cannot leave Fork without ordering it, it truly is that good.
google avatar

Stacey G.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Fork in a few years but I had two great back-to-back experiences so wanted to offer an updated review. Very attentive, fast service--and it was a Saturday night. My daughter loved her ahi and I had butternut squash ravioli. We liked our raspberry-based cocktail. And the butter cake... Just as good as I remember! I got extra points for bringing one home to my husband. He ate the whole thing!
google avatar

Todd M.

Yelp
I had this place flagged to checkout in Boise and boy was I glad I did. I love places that do farm to table. More importantly just focus on the food purveyors from their region. Fork has done that epically. They have an excellent menu I went simple tho with their Sammy that was just delicious with their own tomato bisque soup. The service was great as I sat at the bar and the location is even better as it takes up a former bank building.
google avatar

Max G.

Yelp
Brunch was terrific, and as expected in Idaho, the potatoes were outstanding. I had the Eggs Benedict, which was good, but the real highlight is their outdoor patio. It has great vibes, right on the main drag of Boise--perfect for enjoying a meal while soaking in the atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out!
google avatar

Nadine G.

Yelp
This place was so cool! It's in a really interesting building. It was converted from a bank, so I loved the historical aspect of it. The details of the place were really neat. For a table of 4 on a Sunday night, the wait was half an hour without a reservation. The food was totally worth it. The appetizers were amazing! Our favorites were the wagyu beef sliders and the tomato basil soup and grilled cheese. There was so much flavor in both. Just perfect. And tomato soup is such a staple that it's hard to mess up, but I think it's even harder to elevate it, and this place really did that. We also enjoyed the shrimp and grits and the pork belly Mac and cheese. We also really liked the urban burger with avocado and junior cheeseburger. The fries were good too. The butter cake was a bit too sweet for us and we kind of wished we had a better cake to toppings ratio to balance it out. But overall the experience was top notch. Our server was so great and went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed. She also was really patient with our kid and took the time to connect with him. We were all really satisfied with our experience and would 100% come back.
google avatar

Krista C.

Yelp
I loved Fork!! Came to Boise on a work trip, and this was such a warm welcome. I got the BCS salad and it was so delicious!! I got to try an Idaho Malbec which was excellent. I love how the menu features all local sources :) The staff was also super friendly and gave me recs to explore! They had beautiful outdoor seating, but I sat at the bar which was great for solo dining. Would love to come back here one day!
google avatar

Yelp
Server was nice and made a good recommendation for the birria tacos. Salad was so fresh, ambiance was relaxed/ businessy.
google avatar

Christine J.

Yelp
Came in for a family member birthday. Good service, food, and experience! The tomato basil, chicken salad, and butter cake were really good! They gave the cake as complimentary. The flavors were slightly different but enjoyable. Would definitely want to visit for brunch items! Interior is casual. Will come back!

Yelp
Matt rocked !!! Exceptional cuisine in an ideal setting. You can not go wrong with dinner /lunch It lived up to the hype Kind staff
google avatar

Yelp
Fork made my Friday night! The prime rib was cooked to perfection--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. And don't even get me started on the butter cake... unreal. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was just right for a relaxed night out. 10/10 would recommend. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I just ate at Fork moments ago and I had a pretty bad experience. I order the Southwestern salad with Crispy chicken. Unfortunately it had a big on it. I didn't notice until after I had a few bites already. I was nearly going to barf until I googled that they're harmless. But even then I'm still thinking about how I ate bugs. They're common on lettuce but come off easily by rinsing the lettuce first. (Learned from google). So I am still deciding if I want to be sick or not. I wasn't charged for the salad but also as I said I hardly ate any yet. Aphids the bug found in my salad usually live in bunches. So I likely did eat more. So I am still thinking about it. I did have the Pineapple Express which was a pretty bad drink. I ended my insect infested meal with butter cake that was pretty good. I only took a bite of the butter cake because I needed a clip for a YouTube short and I really wanted the famous butter cake to be in there. After a bite I pretty much ate the whole thing. The two stars are for the service and the butter cake. If I am back in Boise I won't return just because even with the butter cake I couldn't trust that they wash the fruit and I didn't enjoy the drink. I wouldn't have a reason to recommend either. Even with the yummy butter cake I wouldn't trust the fruit on top. Working in the restaurant industry myself I would have thought a manager would have come out and said sorry or at least tried to say they'd investigate why they have lettuce aphids. This could easily be fixed by washing the lettuce. Since there was no interaction with management. I was also charged for the other items I ordered so o can't say if someone else visits and has insects in their food they may still have to pay if they eat most or all of it. All in all I wish I hadn't eaten here and the bug has ruined my day just a bit because I will can't shake the feeling of bugs crawling on me now. Did I mention the butter cake was great!
google avatar

Amy D.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Service was good too. One of the best burgers I have had. Will definitely be back on my next trip to Boise.

Yelp
I was really excited to try Fork based on all the other reviews but sadly my experience wasn't great. I sat at the bar which is full service and even though they were packed to the gills they only had one bartender. It took approximately 6 minutes for her to make her way to me and maybe another 10 for her to take my order. I ordered the Urban Burger and that took a good 30-40ish minutes to come out. The burger was good, like really good. They actually seasoned their meat and it was really juicy. The food was absolutely 5 stars. I needed condiments and asked for them when my food came out but they never came and there was nobody on my side of the bar to ask again. I ended up just eating my food without them and when she came back a while later to check on me she realized she had forgotten. She offered to go get them but I was already done eating, so I declined. This spot has great potential based on the other teviews but I think they need more staff, or I just went on a bad day.
google avatar

Frank S.

Yelp
The service was good the waitress was attentive and refilled my drink frequently but didn't have much personality. The tomato soup was very good and the short ribs were amazing. I have to give the cobbler a fail though, it was not cobbler it was like a dry biscuit with apple chunks and had a weird spice to it. The prices were also not very reasonable. If the dessert was better and the prices lower it would have been a five star.
google avatar

Yelp
What a fantastic dining experience during my brief visit to Boise! I tried Fork after seeing their well-deserved positive reviews. We luckily got seated immediately and had great service from everyone, particularly from our server, Danica, who was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. I ordered the Saturday night special Slow Rotisserie Roasted Herb Crusted Northwest Prime Rib cooked medium rare with the brown butter mashed potatoes. The generously portioned prime rib was cooked perfectly, with a perfect balance of flavor, and the potatoes were creamy and flavorful. I paired it with a glass of the 2021 Juggernaut Hillside Cabernet (4 stars on Vivino, btw), which was so smooth and was an excellent complement to the meal. The wine offerings are extensive and impressive, but I learned they have a very reasonable corkage fee of $10 if you have something else in mind. I hesitated to go with dessert after such a satisfying meal, but I'm so glad I indulged and decided to go with the butter cake, which was incredible. Unexpectedly, they'd run out of vanilla ice cream and topped it with chocolate, and it worked well! Each bite was a gift to my taste buds. I suggest asking for this substitution if you're so inclined. All in all, I can't recommend Fork enough. I hope to return someday!

Yelp
Very nice ambiance inside with really good service. The old fashion was good and so was the 3 in the Chamber. I had the BCS with smoke salmon. That was really good and the price was right. The burger was also price correctly in my opinion and was very good. The steak was a little high in price and lacked seasoning. Try the fried asparagus. Those were really good as was the butter cake.

Yelp
This place was wonderful! We sat outside with our dog and it was so cute. Our server was lovely and so attentive! They had some amazing gluten free options!! Loved everything about this place

Yelp
We could have gotten a table only a 10 minute wait but we chose to sit at the bar. Service at the bar was amazing cocktails and brews served with a smile!

Yelp
Went here to celebrate late birthday and I will be back to celebrate anything ! The service was wonderful and atmosphere very inviting. I had their Pork Shank with risotto....so delish. And there I made sure to leave room for their yummy butter cake that I recommend to everyone. Thank you FORK for making my fork busy feeding my face with your delicious dishes.

Yelp
We had several of the wagyu smashburgers and fries they were excellent. The shrimp and grits and brussels sprouts were also very good. The service, however, was quite poor. Don't know if it's because we are a mixed-race family, but we were seated in the far back corner of a secondary room, we were not provided with napkins and silverware, we were not given a bottle of water to refill our glasses as literally every other table in the restaurant was given, and we had to flag down our server just so we could pay our bill. We can only hope this was a bad server as opposed to something more sinister.

Yelp
Fork is a go to for me! Great restaurant. Clean inside and clean ingredients! Food always tastes good and fresh. Servers are always on top of it and friendly. Gluten free here so went with "The B.C.S" (Boise Chopped Salad). Salmon on salad had a great taste and finished the whole salad. My friend got the Fried Chicken & Ballard Cheddar Waffle 'Sliders as she had gotten before and loved! Super delicious orange honey butter. I like that fork using local products you don't find places like that everywhere. Prices are decent too. We came on weekend around 12pm and was about a 20 minute wait, walked around some nearby shops until we got text that table was ready.

Yelp
I've been to Boise twice this summer and have eaten at Fork both times. So far, it's my favorite restaurant downtown. It's nice that they offer indoor and outdoor dining. The staff is polite and the food is served promptly w/o feeling overly rushed. The menu offers many options, from salad & sandwiches to seafood and hearty meat dishes. As a true Farm to table, they also source many of their ingredients & products locally. However, I so much love their pickled mushrooms w pea appetizer/salad that I think I'll order it every time I come. Similarly, the fresh rainbow trout is moist, delicate and falls easily away from the skin. They are delicious, healthy plates. Yet I am a sucker for dessert! The first time we chose the key lime pie which was phenomenal and this time we are the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. The bread pudding is served in its own little cast iron skillet which keeps it warm. It was amazing and definitely too large for one person. Too bad I didn't get a photo. Guessing I was too concerned that the ice cream would melt too quickly if I waited. Best to make reservations a few days in advance if you plan your go on a weekend day.

Yelp
Other than SOME rude staff, everything was delicious. Had the short rib, a prickly pear margarita, and the butter cake . Everything was delicious but the short rib did have a lot of fat, half of it was fat.

Yelp
Hope to update this in the future. We had a reservation for Saturday, couldn't make it so I made one for Sunday. Later, I called to cancel the Saturday reservation to free it up for someone else and confirm my Sunday appointment, and the woman I spoke to on the phone was very rude and left a bad taste in my mouth. As for now we still plan on attending on Sunday, but the horrible attitude has me considering other options as it seems like this place doesn't want/need customers.
