The 34 Best Restaurants in Madrid, Spain | Eater

"Clara Diez has made artisan dairy producers the main characters at Formaje, her cheese shop located in the Chamberí neighborhood. She’s helped put many brands on the city’s culinary radar, getting them served in some of the best restaurants and bars in town, while spreading education about aspects of the cheese trade that had been long forgotten. A visit to the shop might include creamy Olavidia goat cheese, named best cheese in the world at the World Cheese Awards 2021; queixo do pais, a Galician staple; Hornkase, a raw cow’s milk from Germany that’s one of Diez’s favorites; and of course, manchego, Spain’s beloved cheese, which Formaje sources from Castilla-La Mancha. Know before you go: Pick up a souvenir from the gourmet selection of wines, gadgets, sauces, and cured meats." - Paula Móvil

Google
Absolutely charming cheese shop in Madrid! I only intended to browse, but Nisla, who was helping me, was so lovely, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Her enthusiasm for the products was contagious, and her recommendations were spot on. Thanks to her wonderful service, I ended up leaving with a much larger (and more delicious) selection than I had planned. A true gem of a store with exceptional customer care. Highly recommend!

Incredible cheese shop for cheese lovers! Love the combination of Spanish and French cheeses, beautifully displayed and wonderful help from the team member today who was quite the cheese connoisseur. They also have a bar code that you can scan from the cheese, if you care to learn more. Very sophisticated shop!

Best cheeses I have found in Madrid so far, with a lot of options, both common and more niche ones. The staff is extremely friendly and know their stuff, always ready to help. I recommend.

The place is classic and beautifully arranged. A selection of cheeses, jams and additional equipment for cutting and serving. We bought more than half a kilo of cheese for €25 more or less. The guy there is charming and explains with great love about each cheese. amazing amazing amazing

Google
Wonderful artisan cheese shop. The cheesemongers gave us a great selection of cheeses from different parts of Spain and France. Great price for the quality. I would definitely come back. Love the interior decor and also the story of the female business owner. Love to support small businesses! ✊🏽🌈

Excellent cheese shop, well curated, knowledgeable staff. I also purchased an artisanal Spanish butter I had never seen before and I’m looking forward to trying.

Beautiful cheese shop with nice employees. My husband loves cheese but isn’t familiar with Spanish cheese. They don’t really do boards or tastings but the shop attendant let us try a couple things.
