Wow I’ve never had a staff member react so rudely to feedback. Came to the cafe (which is our regular spot) to have a coffee and do some admin at the weekend. We ordered a coffee and then got told we can’t have laptops out at the weekend. 99% of cafes have someone using a laptop (work or otherwise) so it should to be very clear before someone sits down and puts in an order that they can’t work in that cafe. When we gave this feedback to a staff member they were pretty rude saying “what do you expect?? Us to tell every single person that walks through the door?!” No I just expect you to take the feedback - or even acknowledge that this is an order from higher up, not to get defensive. A simple solution would be to put a sign on the counter at reception. Or to give people a timed slot if you’re worried about turning other customers away? I wouldn’t have ordered otherwise, and it’s lucky I hadn’t yet ordered food. So disappointing given it’s an amazing cafe otherwise. Forno team - it’s worth considering this is your Limehouse customer demographic and you really are in the heart of a young professional residential area - it isn’t the Ritz Carlton where people expect pretentious hospitality rules!!
