Nice place to enjoy the local food. We had a quick bite to eat and it was really tasty. Reading a lot of negative reviews of the place. Yes, some chefs might try to scam you. But almost every food stall has a menu with the prices on it. If you think it’s too expensive than try the next one or try to bargain with them. It can get really busy though, so you might want to keep a close eye on your personal belongings. All in all a really nice experience and a nice one for about an hour or so. Have a small bite and after that just go into Stone Town to enjoy the rest of the night.

An excellent way for a community to come and stay together is beautifully displayed in their sharing of a meal and spending quality time with each other. A lot of activity, very well attended and it's right by the Indian Ocean. I got to sample quite a bit of different foods and fairly priced. Great way to spend an evening!!

Best seafood experience in Stone Town and Zanzibar altogether. The range of variety available in this open stall market was amazing. And it was cheap, compared to what restaurants would offer. Tasty and fresh, this is a cultural phenomenon not to miss. The night market bustles with everyone trying to sell their wares. Shawarma and local pizzas with sugarcane juice were also on display. Do NOT miss this experience. You won't regret it

You can't afford to miss out on Forodhani while in Zanzibar. Best time to visit is in the evening at around 6pm. That's when you get variety of food being sold at affordable prices, except the sea foods.(kind of expensive) but that's relative. Don't forget to try out their shawarma and sugarcane juice. Also, that's where the famous jumping spot is situated.

Came for the night hype. They sell almost similar food inside: zanzibar pizza, barbecue, shawarma, sugar cane juice, juice, urojo, and coconut. The zanzibar pizza looks nothing like pizza but it was fine. The brochette/barbecue looks like precooked and not fresh. It was a okay tho. Good place to pass the evening and watch the sunset while enjoying local delicacies.

If you are someone who likes to know the culture and mix with locals while experiencing their cuisine when visiting a place then Forodhani is the right place for you. The food market is opened everyday from 5:30 pm and you will be welcomed by so many people who will be telling you about their foods so as to win you to go eat at their spots, you really need to be patient with this. The most famous food to try is Zanzibar Pizza (please do make sure you try this), a lot of sea food, Zanzibar mix and fresh fruits. Well food prices can be crazy too as they treat everyone as a tourist. If you're a lover of sunsets then have your camera ready.

One of the must visit experience place to be while you are in zanzibar.. Street food, sugar cane juice special and many other local delicacy. Fare price and a cool breeze by the beach and as you munch your snacks.

We came here during the evening to have a walk and try local street food from the food stalls. The people advertise their stalls in a really aggressive way which is quite tiring after a few minutes. You can find plenty of seafood options, crepes and shawarma. I am not so sure about the hygiene of the food served as I tried only the shawarma. You can eat here very cheaply.
