Food was incredible, I would equate it to Bavarian inspired dishes with a modern twist. I also liked that the ingredients were mostly locally sourced. The day we were there, they were a little understaffed but the staff were trying. Our food took longer than usual but still not overly frustrating. On the atmosphere side, we had a huge table with many young kids. They ended up opening and closing the dining room door every few minutes and running around almost knocking over the waitress. Nevertheless the dining room is nicely decorated and have a nice view. Would recommend.

Bavarian cuisine. Very good food. Small menu, excellent service. Nice to combine for a day trip outside Munich. Pick a sunny day since it has a very nice veranda with view towards Starnberg lake.

Great food! I had the pleasure of dining at Forsthaus Ilkahöhe and was blown away by their lobster soup. It was rich, flavorful and had generous chunks of lobster throughout. The soup was perfectly balanced and the overall dish was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend giving it a try!

For us, this is one of those places you keep on coming back to. The great thing about the Ilkahhöhe is that you can simply sit in their beergarden and enjoy some basic but great food after a hike - or you can come here for a great evening (that is at least what we did several times) in a beautiful ambiance in their main restaurant. The latter was renovated just a couple years ago and features a nice balance between modern and traditional look. The personnel is very attentive and the food has been fantastic on every occasion.

Really good restaurant where you can discover a lot of different meals and drinks. Mostly local food, but really tasty. The place is nice. I was visiting the area around, and finally i got a really good surprise to eat in this restaurant. Thanks a lot to the people working there. And the prices are really acceptable. That was ok to come by car too.

The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and a small beergarden. The terrace has a simple menu, while more sophisticated dishes are offered inside. The crowd can be sometimes too hipster but otherwise it is ok.
