Cool little coffee bar with some really nice high quality blends. Just opened 7/18. Blends are roasted in-house by Brian, the owner. Coffee is a passion of his and he’s been roasting his own blends for a while using several different beans from around the world. The blends are available to purchase in-store, as well as online. They also have non-coffee options, alternative milks, pastries, cookies, and breakfast tacos from another local business. Indoor and outdoor seating, as well as WiFi. Another great small local business for the area - support local :)

Amber Wayland

Google
My regular place for whole coffee beans. They have a variety of roasts, sources of the beans, and great blends as well. Local business, very nice staff. The coffee in the shop is great - I really like the cold brew and their seasonal specialties. But my favorite is the whole beans that I grind at home and brew in a French press. It's spoiled us for all other coffee.

Google
Wow this place is awesome. As a coffee lover, I love to try new and local coffee shop. This place is everything! They brew their own beans, they make cute foam art so it makes for the perfect instagram post, free wifi and their shop is very clean! This hard to find this place from the road, since its tucked away in a shopping strip, but its worth your time checking this place out. I tried the bacon, potatoe, egg breakfast taco and its more expensive than usual places ($4) but its once of the best breakfast tacos I've had in this area. The California Summer Latte is a vanilla latte with orange bitters and holy moly its good! I can't wait to come back to this place.

Maria R

Google
Nice small coffee shop, we ordered a cappuccino, gingerbread latte, blueberry muffin, and lavender muffin. The cappuccino was on the acidic side, but the gingerbread latte was good. The lavender muffin had a hint of lavender. Wish they have more food options though!

Joy S.

Google
Really cool place! My husband and I attendes one of their FREE coffee cupping classes, and learned so many cool facts about what goes into roasting coffee beans. They are awesome people! Also we enjoyed our drinks that we ordered. Highly recommend!

Google
I cannot say enough good things about this place. This shop is everything you want in a neighborhood coffee house. Amazing staff, amazing coffee, and a beautiful spot. From the Imperial Market Farmers' Market to a brick and mortar shop, Richmond/Katy is lucky to have FBCR.

Sara Regan

Google
If you live in Katy and you’re looking for a craft coffee shop that can hold their own, this is it. Excellent coffee, great service, and good vibes / aesthetic inside. Location is great- close to Katy and Richmond.

Google
This is a quaint local coffee shop with warm decorations. Selection is limited but adequate. We had cappuccino and veggie quiche, and the coffee came with latte arts. ♥️

Joe C.

Yelp
Young hustler coffee They have morning buns here!!! Like NorCal style. It was delicious. The breakfast croissant was also good! And the breakfast taco (we got bacon, egg, and cheese) came with avocado too. The drip coffee was good too

Vanesa V.

Yelp
Haven't been back here in a while but service has gone downhill. Came in to use my buy one get one free drink birthday offer. But for some reason the guy said he could only give me buy one get one half off. If I had known this was the case I wouldn't have even came... Next he made both my drinks incorrectly. I had asked for no ice for my first drink but he forgot. I let it slide since he looked busy. My second drink I asked for hot but he made it iced. SMH. Drinks were still overly sweet even though I asked for less sweet.

Raffaela M.

Yelp
Love supporting small businesses. They have a large drink menu and delicious food. The service was great and the shop was clean and friendly. Definitely would recommend and will return.

Robert B.

Yelp
Have coffee available. Sadly there was no cold brew available when I arrived. Also $6 is pretty high. Unless it's north of 24oz of cold brew.

Cindy L.

Yelp
This is such a cute small cafe with a few tables for chatting or getting a bit of work done. The barista was super nice and friendly, and you can tell he really loves making drinks and seeing people love them! They offer a lot of variety of drinks, mainly coffee based! I decided to try apple chai latte with almond milk, and it is INCREDIBLE. There is a double shot espresso in the drink, so definitely be aware of that if you're expecting just chai! However, I definitely loved the taste of this drink, super unique and you get a hint of apple. Highly recommend trying them out if you love unique twists to your regular drinks! Wish they would bring back some matcha options though hehe

Diana C.

Yelp
What a great find! My husband's coworker recommended this place and I'm super glad he did. With a pretty expansive menu, it was difficult to choose just one drink! I ended up trying the Reptar Latte, which is a double shot espresso with matcha, milk ( I choose oat), charcoal and condensed milk. I'm not the biggest sweets fan with drinks so I ordered it with just a tiny bit of condensed milk. At first sip, it seemed a little too sweet for me but it was really good. It's definitely a caffeine overload but it was welcoming. The matcha provided a slight bitter taste but paired really well with the espresso. Everything worked well together. The breakfast taco was pretty good - I ordered mine with sausage, egg and cheese. Unfortunately my taco only had two small strips of a cut up sausage patty, that looked store brought, but it was good nonetheless. The salsa added great flavor to the taco. My son really enjoyed his croissant sandwich with egg and cheese. The croissant is not made in house, but it was flakey and buttery and delicious. The co-owner we met was super nice as were the other staff members. I would definitely recommend this local owned coffee shop!

Ambreen K.

Yelp
Space matcha - 8.5/10 Tully custard - 8.5/10 Blue dreams - 7.5/10 Reptar charcoal latte - 7/10 Egg and cheese bagel - 8.5/10 Cinnamon roll - 8.5/10 Cheese tequenos - 9/10 Young hustler has some of the most unique and flavorful drinks ive tried at a coffee shop. The only thing is that their flavors were very sweet so for those who dont like very sweet drinks, i would ask for less sweet. I enjoyed their breakfast items as well. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area!

Wendy T.

Yelp
I haven't been back to Young Hustler for a while! I got the iced pandan matcha latte with whole milk, less sweet, and I thought it was only ok. It was a pricey drink so I was kind of expecting a lot more coffee flavor. It was also not filled to the top ( which is ok if the drink was super good) and there were also green drops (I guess of pandan that was not mixed in enough) that was super green that looks artificial. Needless to say, I did not like my drink much. My mom got the iced Cafe Saigon with whole milk less sweet, but she said she really liked the drink and would get it again. I guess next time, I will definitely get something else! Nice cafe and staff overall.

Himadri G.

Yelp
Strolled in for an afternoon coffee, we opted for the Purple Ooze, Pandan Matcha, and Oreo Cream Latte. All were pretty good and quite creative drinks. The Pandan Matcha is one for folks who like the flavor of Pandan, but be warned it can be a bit sweet until you mix it properly! The purple ooze was a lovely blend that was balanced and the Oreo cream was as you'd expect delicious. The employee was very kind and helpful in selecting options. In the future, I want to try the Tubby Custard. The one note I'd like to make is that the tables are quite sticky, and it was not just one...but I'll be back! The place itself has about 5 tables of seating and was quiet for a Saturday afternoon. Maybe a hidden gem

Suelynn N.

Yelp
I came by to get coffee but my first two options were out for the day. My third option was their apple chai. It tasted like apple cider tea with a higher cream ratio. It's not bad but... i was disappointed that the other options were out for the day. But maybe it's because I came on a weekday instead of the weekend. I still want to try their other coffees since they have some very unique drinks. The staff were super nice and helpful. We had a positive conversation despite the lack of ingredients. The place is clean and there were some folks working there. This looks like a good study place with somewhat dim lights. Parking is free and out front but the lots kind of .. hilly? Like the parking lot for this place is on a weird cement hill. Theres also some construction on the lot right now. As long as you're not in a long car like a limo, I think your car will be fine. If you are a nervous driver, go towards the Lewisville drive as the exit/entrance. The other two tends to be more chaotic. Also, they had some chairs and tables outside. If it wasn't so hot, I would had brought my dogs over.

Kelly G.

Yelp
It was SO HOT in there I had to leave. So much for getting my work done. Really frustrating waste of time.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Tiny little cafe! Few seats, but it's usually not too busy/crowded. Definitely worth a try! Their Pandan Matcha is absolutely delicious. My husband got the Tarot Taro & it was also great! There's lots of parking available. I would become a regular if I didn't live so far T-T

Mackenzie D.

Yelp
The muffin role that I was got was terrible and hard!! Absolutely terrible. Also, the frappe that I bought was literally blended coffee that tasted horrible. The customer service was decent at best. I wouldn't come back here. I was the only customer there and she didn't offer to explain the menu or anything to me so I'll pass on this place.

Isabel W.

Yelp
while creative with their flavors, I do think that they lean quite heavily on the sweet side. If there's any way to ask for it to be less sweet (I would go at least half) I think it would fit my palette better personally. when we went, they only offered almond and coconut milk as their alternative which I unfortunately don't enjoy either. Beautiful drinks though!

Linda T.

Yelp
Great local cafe for study, work, date, get-together with the girls, or simply to read and enjoy. Music to not have awkward moments while you study or having a coffee date. Usually clean, except some tables can get messy from all the crumbs that previous customers, who don't know how to clean up after themselves. Their staffs are always friendly and helpful. Lots of new customers lately so don't be afraid to explore here! By the way, go here if you want to see their online menu (or scan QR code by the register): https://yhcshop.square.site/?location=11ea4e95cfef2eaea76c0cc47a2b1e8c Feeling Autumn season in Houston heat? Try out their iced pumpkin cream latte! Apple pie latte is not bad either but not my favorite. A must try, at anytime of the year is Pandan Matcha Latte. Sweet but flavorful and worth the money. Pastries are okay but prices are reasonable considering how big they are and the fact that it can keep you full. Prices are pricey but reasonable when compared to Starbucks, taste better and is run by locals. Good amount of parking spaces. This cafe has both indoor and outdoor seatings.

Shania C.

Yelp
This was a nice place to grab something to drink and sit and get on your computer etc .

Lily Z.

Yelp
I recommend their breakfast empanadas. I also ordered a hot latte, which I enjoyed. .....

Jordi C.

Yelp
Went there on a Sunday. There was only 1 employee(management issue) and I ordered the croissant with egg sandwich. It was overpriced and not good at all. The latte was alright but I do not suggest anyone to spend their money here.

Sara C.

Yelp
PERFECT place to come study/work/read Came on a Sunday to get some studying done and it's a great spot! The area of where this cafe is located is clean and seems new. Very quiet and enough parking for all the businesses around. They have a generic menu on the board and then they'll have a QR code for you to find all their specialty drinks! The music they play isn't obnoxious. Their wifi works well. They have bar type high table seating, regular table seats, and outdoor seating. The cafe gets great sunlight so the lighting is great inside. They do have pastries and other breakfast items like breakfast tacos/waffles/empanadas etc... They do have online ordering option. The barista here makes your drink fast so don't worry about waiting long. Today I tried their Cafe Saigon. I believe it comes with oat milk so the taste is more nutty than sweet. Even with the Yelp 10% check in discount the drink was over $7... so idk.. it was a little too expensive for coffee but it tasted really good! I would highly recommend this cafe!

Gordon C.

Yelp
First time here was decent it was a good place to study. Went again a 2nd time to do some work. When I got there no one was at the front until several minutes later. When he finally came out I'm assuming he was in the restroom because I heard the flushing noise and he was coughing a lot as he got out. Honestly I should've left but still stayed. What made it worse was as he took my order he was sneezing, coughing, and scratching his belly in front of me. Literally not joking at all lol and as he was making my drink he continued to cough and honestly after that I never came back. I stayed for 10 mins then left because the tables were super sticky even after I wiped it down with germx it was still bad.

Natalie T.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop with friendly staff members and delicious coffee selections. It was our first time there and we tried a couple of the pastries, it was superb - especially the almond croissant. Not too sweet, and with it warmed up, it had a nice flaky texture. I ordered the pandan matcha latte and my husband got the Iced taro latte. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back soon.

Angelina C.

Yelp
I was the only one in the coffee line and waited what felt like nearly 10 minutes to even get my order placed. I was very patient and didn't rush at any point. After waiting for a long time, I was told that there may or may not be enough ingredients to make my drink (why was I not told this while I was in line and instead told to wait several times?). I was getting a drink for my road trip (was in a rush) but at this point had already driven all the way here in excitement so gave it my best shot to wait it out. I would've appreciated if the barista at least took my order or told me about the lack of ingredients prior to the waiting. This place either needs better staffing or support if the sole barista struggles with the workload (I genuinely felt bad which is why I did not complain at any point). I even saw customers leave (they were also the only ones in line after I had placed my order and sat). The coffee shop itself was cute and seems like a nice place to catch up or sit for a bit. The barista was nice at the end when giving my drink and the drink itself was good. I was rather excited about the many drinks the menu offered! The experience itself was just unfortunate and I genuinely wish I had not waited that long.

Yasmine N.

Yelp
This cozy little coffee spot is quite the find! The drinks were a tad too sweet for my taste, and I do wish they had a wider selection. However, the staff more than made up for it with their kindness and respect. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxed coffee break, and the ample parking is a definite bonus.

Lauren R.

Yelp
Staff is super friendly and provide great recommendations. I got the iced tubby custard (Double shot of espresso, Tubby Custard sweet cream, with vanilla, and hazelnut). It is a unique and tasty drink. They have a great variety of drinks to try. There is plenty of seating to do work, study, or meet with friends. I can't wait to come back!

Top G.

Yelp
8$ for 3 shots espresso? Charged me $1.50 for ice? By far the most I have ever paid for an iced americano. Service and coffee was good. Overpriced.

Winnie G.

Yelp
I felt disappointed coming here because I saw good reviews about it. I won a $5 gift card here and that's why i had came to try it out. When we came, there was no one inside and we waited about 10 minutes in the front before a staff member came out. The drinks were too sweet even after I asked for 50-75% sweet and I couldn't really taste the expresso. We ordered the cozened indigo and the reptar charcoal. The drinks are expensive but I do like that they send you $1-2 off discounts from time to time and if I ever tried this shop again, I'd order the Cozened indigo again as it was really unique and good, but at 25-50% sweet!

Sharon P.

Yelp
The drink I had (a matcha latte with a pump of vanilla) was wayyyy to sweet. Please listen to the latest reviews here, I wanted to try this place because it's a local business and looked very cute! However, I just did not like my drink, thankfully the women at the front gave me a water cup after waiting for a while for someone to return to the front. Overall I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you're here for the aesthetics. The chairs were also kinda weird though, so it might not be the best place to sit and study, and the service was just okay. There are definitely better coffee shops to try in houston.

Joe T.

Yelp
Never judge a coffee shop by the exterior. Houston is a land of many strip malls and even though I try to seek out buildings with more character, they're unavoidable out here and shouldn't be slept on. This place is really cool on the inside and has an overall Hustle vibe with motivational wall art to start your day. They have all of the classic coffee drinks, as well as a solid selection on pastries. Definitely want to come back in the afternoon to try their savory items, like lumpia.

Emmy S.

Yelp
Drinks ordered : Pandan Matcha Latte, S'mores Latte the drinks were SO good and reasonably priced. This local business has unique flavours you can't find at other competitors. I found out about this business through instagram and I'm glad i decided to make a stop because both of the drinks we ordered exceeded my expectations. The interior is a minimalists dream! Super cute. The service was great and the cashier seemed to be very knowledgeable about the drinks. The croissant i ordered was soso but thats okay. I already cant wait to come back

Zanarah K.

Yelp
Great service and coffee shop local to Richmond Texas. Ask questions they can help with anything on the menu.

Al And Dee R.

Yelp
We have lived in the area for a year and this is the first time that young hustler coffee has come up in our search for a breakfast spot near us. Despite this fact, we are super happy that we found this place. We are NJ transplants and this cafe feels like home; from the food to the ambience. We ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant, the breakfast tacos, the Cuban empanadas and the tequenos. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted great. In addition to the food we ordered a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was decadent and they had alternative milk options which is a plus for us. Overall, we are happy we found this place and definitely recommend it.

Gin Y.

Yelp
This was such a cute and modern coffee shop, albeit somewhat small inside. It wasn't crowded on a Sunday afternoon. So, we went inside to try out their coffee drinks and food. Their butterscotch and Andes mint lattes were tasty. I added an extra espresso shot to mine. But, like most flavored lattes, it was a bit too sweet for me. Next time I come here, I'll try their americano, pour over, or cortado drinks. Oh, they do offer oat milk here. I am also curious about their Chaga drink. Apparently, chaga mushrooms have a lot of health benefits. As for their food, their cubano sandwiches were pretty good. The meat wasn't as flavorful and the bread wasn't as buttered or toasted as Brass Tacks' cubano. It was still a good sandwich, though. Their beef Cuban empanadas were a nice snack. I'll have to try their tamales, lumpia, and breakfast sandwiches when I return. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to this coffee shop. Come and check them out.

Jenny N.

Yelp
Came in and no one was at the counter. We ordered our drinks first and no one else was in the establishment. Then another customer came in and ordered their drinks and got theirs right away while we had to wait for our drinks even though we got there first and ordered first. Drink was spilled and dirty when handed to me, she didn't even try to wipe off the mess she did but wiped the counter after we took our drinks. pandan matcha latte was good. Taro latte was meh not the best, no taro flavoring at all just tastes like a regular latte that's purple.

FB F.

Yelp
After seeing this place tucked away, we finally got a chance to stop in. We aren't coffee drinkers, but love to try small local businesses. We decided to try a few different items and were pleasantly surprised. We had waffles, Venezuelan & Cuban empanadas, waffles and lumpias. We loved everything. The first bite of the empanadas reminded me of the homemade ones we ate from our neighbors house. They were delicious & the sauces are a perfect complement. After ordering & getting our initial items, we ordered additional food & it took a little longer than expected. I will say the service was good. The place was quiet with a few people on laptops or reading. It's quaint & there's additional seating outside.

Emily L.

Yelp
This is my 2nd time here & both times I got the iced tarot taro latte ! Love that you can actually taste the ube flavor & the drink itself is strong and creamy. The only downside is that its quite expensive.. over $8 for 20oz with no milk sub & using my 10% off yelp coupon. The menu has a lot of unique flavors & fun combos ! The shop is quaint with a good amount of tables & outlets for those trying to get a lil work done.

Mel E.

Yelp
Came here for the first time. It's pretty hidden, looks small from the outside but inside there is plenty of seating. It was quiet when I was there so it's nice for studying (they have charging plugs by every table, just something i noticed). The music was also nice, nothing too loud or crazy. I got a flat white and butter croissant. The flat white was around $5 and tasted really good. The croissant was $6+ which i thought was pretty overpriced though. Overall it's a nice place for coffee i may come back!

Ngoc L.

Yelp
Decided to check out this place with a friend in Richmond area. We can around 2pm on a weekday. It was fairly slow with 1-2 table occupied. Very chill vibe. Highly recommend for someone who needs to get their work done. Table setting is spacious. The staff that was helping me was very friendly and give their honest opinion on all the drinks/food. Very helpful. I would say the drinks are on the SWEETER side. I ordered both drinks with HALF sweetness... and it still quite sweet. So i would be extra careful with that. Had the taro latte and pandan matcha latte. Def. Liked the pandan matcha latte more. But both are good i would day.

Sharon W.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but the guy making my coffee had nasal congestion and wiped his congestion with his hands before making my coffee and his accidentally spit in my coffee while he was talking about his personal life. The guy was nice but I had to pour my coffee because I didn't want to get sick. Also, my iced latte was almost $9.

Vanessa N.

Yelp
I wanted to give this place a try since I saw that they had a pandan latte. I came here early in the morning and was the only one there. When I went to place my order, I was immediately greeted with the barista with mucus running down his nose. That immediately made me question the sanitation of this place. While I was placing my order, he was constantly sniffling and I couldn't keep my eyes off the mucus that kept running down his nose. At least excuse yourself to blow your nose or wipe it. If you're sick, at the very least wear a mask if you're going to make my drink. And to my disappointment, he was indeed the one to make my drink as well. While he was making my drink, the white cap of the bottle that contained the Pandan syrup fell off INTO my cup. He reached in to grab the cap and proceeded to continue making my drink inside the same cup, until I told him that I saw the cap fall into my cup and would like a new cup. He did agree to make me a new one, but I shouldn't have to tell him that. A drink has never felt more unappetizing to me before and if it wasn't for the fact that I basically paid $10 for ONE drink, I might've thrown it away. If you're charging $10 for a drink, I expect better. With better sanitation.

Tracy D.

Yelp
Right by the freeway, a little tricky to get to but plenty of parking. Staffs are friend and informative. I came here on a Thursday to work and it's pretty quiet. I love that they also sells food. Their coffee menu is extensive which makes you want to try everything! Cuban sandwich (4/5) Iced ube latte (5/5) - love that it still taste like coffee Saigon coffee (4/5) Peppermint latte (4/5) - taste like Christmas in your mouth! A little on the sweet side. Overall, I can't wait to go back and try out their other items.

Alejandro R.

Yelp
Very cool aesthetic inside with a vinyl station, artwork on the walls, a cool assortment of coffee brewing equipment, and succulents - very cozy. Good amount of outlets for those looking to study/work. Wifi works great. We tried to order the tamales but they were out so we got a Danish pastry instead along with a cappuccino and their signature iced pumpkin latte. The Danish pastry was toasty, warm, and puffy with a gooey cherry center. Very delicious and surprisingly filling. The iced pumpkin spice latte was a perfect cocktail of fall flavors with the essential caffeine fix. 100% would come back here again for this. The cappuccino was much less impressive - it was served just slightly warm and the foam was terribly textured. I suspect the milk wasn't warmed/foamed long enough with the steam wand. Served like this, I definitely can't recommend the cappuccino and can't really assess the cafe's beans they roast in house. Definitely will come back for the pumpkin spice latte and a snack, might try a different espresso based drink next time. Also there's a lot of available parking!

Brandye C.

Yelp
They have some interesting pastries types. The barista was friendly and asked if I had any questions about the menu to let him know. I tried a hot thin mint latte and it was very refreshing. I just hope they invest in better cups for the hot beverages cause it was very hot even with the cup sleeve. I plan to return with my cousin on a Saturday.

Karlo M.

Yelp
This place has good service, good drinks, tables are new, overall deserving of 5 stars.

Mynika C.

Yelp
Just here to update my review! As usual, Young Hustler is amazing. Great staff, great drinks, and great breakfast. Today I'm having an Iced Matcha Latte w/almond milk + espresso. I ordered the egg/cheese croissant sandwich as well. It shall be a great day!

Caiya M.

Yelp
Obsessed is an understatement! Amazing tasting coffee and hand crafted recipes! I come often and always love all the yummy drinks.

Patrick O.

Yelp
Stuck up coffee nerds. I ordered a hot chocolate, and the barista laughed at me. Very slow service and expensive.

Kristy S.

Yelp
I had trouble locating the shop as yelp directions led me to the Walgreens. I called the shop and a nice woman told me it was across the street by the dollar general and Christian automotives. Cute sidewalk seating, small but cute indoor area. Menu isn't extensive. My husband got the mocha iced. I like lattes. They had the typical syrups but I like trying special menu items so I chose the purple goop. I assumed it was taro and I was correct. The goop was slimy and gets stuck in the straw. It didn't mix well with the latte. It's slightly sweet and the latte was perfectly sweetened. Overall I loved it. The place had pastries like croissants and danishes, waffles, and a few Filipino snacks like lumpia. They ran out of spam masubi.

Meow M.

Yelp
A pretty dirty place, drinks taste very ordinary. Ok services. It's a very small place, not too impressive.

Zachary N.

Yelp
Great local coffee spot in Richmond Tx. Good vibes and great people. Pretty cool location right off of 99
