Iconic State Fair Corny Dog Stand Distances Itself From Similarly Named New Pop-Up - Eater Dallas

"Fletch, founded by Jace Fletcher Christensen, is a new pop-up serving deep-fried 'fine stick food' and claims to differentiate itself from Fletcher’s Original State Fair Corny Dogs. Christensen, the great-granddaughter of one of Fletcher’s co-founders, emphasizes the differences, noting that her pop-up does not use Fletcher's recipes and offers an expansive menu including The Funnel Cake Bar by Fletch." - Amy McCarthy

Very fast working and knowledgeable. Helped time my muzzle with ease and gave very important information.

I have a Springfield XDM 9mm. I needed to swap my sights out for Trijicon night sights. He agreed to do it for me even thought they were difficult. A day later he calls me and tells me that he broke half of my front sight off upon removal and managed to get it out. But to install, he had to grind down the stake ridges to get my new ones in. I asked him if I could at least get the cost of replacing down a bit because I planned on keeping the original sights and he replied with “No, you’re lucky I didn’t charge you more.” He was very condescending the whole time and I was just shocked because I chose this first local gun shop because of all these reviews. This is the first review I have ever left anyone in my life. I’m glad to hear everyone’s experience was great but I definitely couldn’t say the same.

Fort Fletch is the best hands down. Very knowledgeable about firearms. If your looking into building an AR or anything related to firearm this is the man to talk to.

Google
He did an outstanding job installing new sights. Forewarned me that there could possibly be minor scratches due to the install and made me fully aware of what "could" happen. To my surprise there were absolutely no issues. No scratches, no anything negative. They were also slighted in perfectly. I spent a few minutes talking with him in general. Really nice guy and very knowledgeable about his trade. I won't hesitate to go back

Just picked up my Model 50 shotgun that stopped cycling shells after my 12 year old son forced the barrel into the gun when reassembling the gun several years ago. I hunted with this gun as a kid. Fletch had to manufacture a tool just to repair this gun and it now works flawlessly. I could not be more pleased with his work. I will recommend him to all my hunting friends. He is a no nonsense kind of guy and he is very knowledgeable on all types of guns. I gave him a number that I was willing to spend to get this gun repaired and he charged me way below that number. Rarely do I walk away from doing business with someone and feel like I should have paid more. Don't hesitate to stop in and check out his business. His Fort is a pretty neat little gun shop.

Google
Great place to get your guns worked on. I took a stock S&W 15 to him to get customized and he did an awesome job. Fletcher (owner) took the time to explain the pros and cons of different triggers, grips, hand guards and all other parts to make sure I got the parts perfect for me. The store is between Mansfield dam (lake travis) and Steiner Ranch. They also have a good selection of guns, ammo and parts for sale.

We inherited a few old guns. A out of state family member wanted to restore them and we needed to ship them legally. He was able to complete the forms and ship to another dealer out of state that was near the family. This is a minimal transaction and a headache. Fletch never made me feel as though he was doing a favor (he was) and I learned something about the guns (old winchester like rifle). This is a local small business and I would highly recommend supporting him .

Google
As someone looking into purchasing a firearm I called to ask a few questions about the buying process for 18-20 year olds specifically about the new bill that was passed earlier this year I figured who better to ask than people more educated than me. After asking I was immediately met with a mocking and “fed up” tone as if I knew the answers to the questions already. Im not sure if it was busy in store or if he understood the question . Eventually I was able to get an answer for a question but during our exchange he informed that they don’t sell to anyone under 21 which by all means that’s your policy , I just couldn’t find anything on the website saying this had i , I wouldn’t have called to begin with . I’m sure this place is a great shop , just not for anyone under 21 :)

Yelp
Good owner, good service. Helped me a couple times when I needed something "out of the ordinary"

Yelp
Best AR shop this side of the Mississippi. Fletch is the man. This is a shop for the true connoisseur and beginner alike.

Jeffrey E.

Yelp
Fletch knows his guns and always a fair price. He helped me finish my rifle. I can definitely see myself buying more guns through him. My oldest son was the one that took me in the first place and he has bought several guns from Fletch.

Yelp
I went in there today looking to buy a deer rifle and pick up a few AR parts. It's always been a good place in the past for small AR accessories and simple gunsmithing. I wasn't thru the door more that 2 minutes when the owner and some guy sitting in a chair accused me of being an FBI agent. It definately was not a joke. My response to that was to walk straight back outside again. Does this owner always immediately insult his customers? I will certainly never shop there again.

Yelp
Fletch is extremely knowledgeable. Great little place you might drive right by but look for the cool shack house!

Yelp
We inherited a few old guns. Out of state family had interest in restoring etc. He was very helpful and transferred the weapons to a dealer near the family. He is a very nice person, with great customer service and I learned a lot just going thru the process. This was a small transaction of filling out forms and shipping but he took all the time and I never felt as though I was a burdern despite the fact it was probably not worth his time.. I would highly recommend supporting this small business.

Thompson G.

Yelp
Fletch, the owner, is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I needed help with some 9mm ammo and he quickly gave me some relevent information. I was able to purchase exactly what I needed and was on my way in 15 minutes. Highly recommend. Thank you, Fletch!

Yelp
Got my Commiefornia complaint AR freedomized at Fort Fletch, it was done quick and the gentleman doing it explained the process which was surprisingly easy.

Yelp
Owner or employee that was there was a rude, condescending individual. Customer service should be priority # 1. It was as if you didn't have a wealth of knowledge about firearms, you were beneath him. Wasn't wearing a mask, too.

Carl K.

Yelp
I bought a gun in another state so it needed to be shipped to a store in Texas where I am a resident for pickup and background check for which they would receive a fee and potentially future business. The owner never responded to the emails from the store where it would be shipped from or my voice message for that matter. It's ok if you don't want the business but extending the courtesy of a response would have been appreciated.

Yelp
One of the most unique fun stores I've ever been to. A small little 'fort' on the side of the road that you'd pass right by without knowing it's there. When you walk into this small shop, it's amazing how much the very knowledgeable owner has packed into every corner. Stop by, be ready for an education and to buy some guns you didn't think you were in the market for.

Yelp
When it comes to shooting, folks are into the sport, hobby, or competition and others even like to hunt. For me, it was not about just about purchasing a gun itself, but the peace of mind that comes with it. Knowing that I have an equalizer to protect myself and my family always has been more beneficial and confidence-restoring than therapy after an assault and two home invasion attempts. (NOTE: You should always receive training and safety instructions first before purchasing and handling ANY firearm! See my review on Texan Defender.) When it got to the point where I was too fearful to walk my dog in Steiner Ranch suburbia land, I decided that this was getting seriously ridiculous. I obtained my TX CHL and headed down to Fort Fletch. Fletch, the Owner, was just awesome. First of all, I was excited to see that we had a local firearm shop so close to my home, because a lot of the others were a decent drive away from Lake Travis/West Austin. However, I did not have to sacrifice service for location! He was extroidanarily patient with me, ordered exactly what I wanted, and then was very happy to accomodate me when I changed my mind on the Glock 19 and opted for a smaller Ruger instead for convenience. Even though the Ruger cost less, he pointed out that for the sake of convenience and ease this pistol may be a betetr match and that adding yet another 9mm to my small collection may be redundant. Even though I am a very eager beginner, Fletch explained the pros and the cons and the intricacies of each option. He spent about two hours with me! We went through all the add-ons I asked about and even went into detail about the many various kinds of ammunition and their purposes. I was not patronized or looked down upon. His prices are very fair compared to other shops (some items a bit more, some were less). It was GREAT balance of being well informed/advised without being pressured or upsold. Fletch was more concerned that I had the best match possible for my lifestyle and what I planned to use the pistol for. I would be completely comfortable bringing some of my girlfriends here (we are starting to go to shooting ranges on ladies night!). Overall, the BEST experience I could have hoped for and as long as it doesn't change, I am a customer for life. Even if I move to south austin next year, I will drive my butt all the way out here again to give Fletch my business.

Yelp
A cool little spot that specializes in ARs and AR accessories. I popped by on my way to the range to get a last-minute riser for my optic. The prices were reasonable and the owner (Fletch?) was refreshingly honest about his recommendations. He let me open up and try several risers until I found one that worked. I like supporting local business, especially when they're 5 minutes away. I'm certain I'll be back, as my AR addiction grows.

Yelp
This is a small but packed shop. Fletch is extremly helpful with a vast amount of knowledge that he is more than happy to share. He helped me with two of my AR's helping chase down two issues other shops failed to fix. Hands down the best place to go for AR's in the greater Austin area.

Yelp
i have stopped in this place a couple times. The owner is very different. Last time i went in it was pretty packed the owner looked at me like i was the devil. I asked if he had some ammo and he snapped and said no. So i left i probably will not buy anything from here again. I am going to by another ar 15 but not from him. Customer service is very lacking at FT FLETCH. Wont be back

Yelp
Fletcher is an asset to the area, I'm pleased to have discovered the Fort! Thanks for the great service and information.

Yelp
Stopped in today, was really looking for a place close to my house that I could use for transfers. Asked the guy in the shop how much for an transfer, didn't get a straight answer... Something about it being pretty steep if it was something he could get, I guess he is not interested in doing transfers. Disappointing, but fine I suppose. Asked about a price on something in the case that did not have a price, and he told me "it's around x I think"... Really am I bothering you, can a potential customer really not get a straight answer? It's a shame because they are so close to me, but I don't think I will be back.

Yelp
Fletch helped me ship A gun as a gift to my brother in California. He was very helpful!

Joe J.

Yelp
I stopped in to the little Fort Fletch gun shop out of curiosity. And I found the owner, Fletch, to be personable, very knowledgeable, and quite helpful. He's an AR-15 genius. After about ten years of working with him, I've bought a nice deer rifle with a scope he mounted and bore-sighted, a great classic pump shotgun, a nice AR-15, and a wonderful over-under shotgun. Fletch gets wonderful marks from me and from his other customers, some of whom I meet as I visit. This is a local business that deserves our support, and he reciprocates with excellent service.

Yelp
Stopped by to look for a handgun for an upcoming LTC class.Fletch was extremely helpful showing me a few different models and I ended up getting a Glock 19.It was great asking questions and getting straight up answers from an experienced dealer. Will definately be back for more purchases!!

Rodney K.

Yelp
The owner's very helpful and has veteran knowledge. Has a great capability to do custom builds and any other mods on an AR platform or otherwise. Plus if you're goin fishin it's located next to the only good baitshop in town!

Yelp
Exactly the shop I was looking for - near my home, expert advice, small business rather than a big box corporation, selection that suited my needs. I made my first TX firearm purchase here and expect to be back for more. Thanks Fletcher!

Robert A.

Yelp
I've bought and sold here and love the place. Highly recommend it. It's a very honest and "come as you are" business - zero pressure - answers any questions you have and some of the best prices I've seen. He doesn't BS you and is focused on making you happy. Awesome place.

Yelp
Fletcher's customer service and pricing are outstanding but his patience and honest advices are beyond words! Thank you for taking care of me as if we are family - I really appreciate your excellent work!!

Mike J.

Yelp
Fletch is awesome and very knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all of my questions. Highly recommended.

Yelp
First of all, I gotta say, if your driving the speed limit southbound on RR 620 you can easily miss this little gem, the place is tiny, but some of the best things in life come in small packages. I stopped in a couple of days after they opened, and let me tell you, if your a fan of AR style weapons, you'll be like a kid walking into a candy store. The very knowledgable and attentive owner builds his own AR's and also stocks OEM sporting and home defense weapons. The ammo is reasonably priced and the selection is good. I purchased a rifle and optic from Fort Fletch and I'm very happy with the service I received and the product I purchased. I will definitely be stopping by often.

Jj D.

Yelp
Coolest little store. Didn't have what I was looking for and they ordered it for me within couple days

Joe C.

Yelp
Easy to zoom right by, but this place is a find. For a small shop they have great selection and very competitive prices. In addition, Fletch is very knowledgeable and helpful. He has been a great help to me in getting my firearms shipped down from the People's Republic of Illinois to Texas. This place has won my business for sure!

Yelp
Always nice to find a knowledgeable gunsmith who does good work at a fair price. I've had two AR lowers built here and the work has been execellent. Jobs are finished quickly and always willing to chat about new ideas. Great Shop!

Eric N.

Yelp
Super honest and cool owner. Reasonable prices for AR-15 assembly, and you can be sure that it was done correctly.

Yelp
Very nice and informative owner. Good selection. Glad he's near my neighborhood! Thanks Fletcher!!!

Jessica B.

Yelp
I heard about Fort Fletch from my boyfriend. I was in the market for a new handgun that would be concealable on my body versus in my purse. Fletch was great! He knew what I needed better than I did. He showed me how easy it was to conceal the right handgun on my body even when I was wearing jeans and a tight fitting t-shirt. Even better, he didn't try to convince me that I needed the most expensive gun in the case. Right off the bat I felt like he was really trying to meet my needs and not take advantage of my girlie lack of knowledge. Definitely check this place out!

Blake G.

Yelp
A+ business, good selection, fair prices, and exceptional customer service. It's easy to blow your budget out on a custom AR rifle. Inflated industry prices and brand hype abound in this realm. Fletch takes the time to explain exactly were your hard earned money is being spent in each component: what's functional, what's a myth, and what is purely an industry trend. These days it can be hard to find an honest, stand-up business. This is one!
