This Historic Resort & Spa Is an Idyllic Escape from Belize’s Largest City - Hotels Above Par - Boutique Hotels & Travel

"Located at the mouth of a river on the Caribbean in Belize City, this recently relaunched four-star property blends modern, minimalist design with a colonial heritage dating back to 1953 and a reopening at the beginning of February. The redesign introduces 34 newly renovated Courtyard Deluxe Rooms and Suites—with an additional 110 rooms planned over the next 12 months—and Penthouse Suites that feature a full kitchen, living room and sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea; all rooms emphasize great natural light, natural wood finishes and white ceramic touches. The all-white entrance and soothing neutral palettes throughout the lobby and guestrooms create a calm oasis amid the city’s bustle. On-site amenities include the K’IN Spa, which offers ecosystem-inspired treatments (notably the Seaside Symphony Facial with a high-potency marine mask) plus health-focused food and beverage options, a small plunge pool ideal for cooling off with a cocktail, a fitness center, a full-service restaurant-bar-lounge called The Treehouse serving breakfast, lunch and tapas-style dinners focused on freshly caught seafood and locally sourced ingredients (with in-room dining available), and an on-site marina that facilitates maritime adventures and personalized tours. With a sleek, sexy, modern vibe and knowledgeable staff providing farm-to-table dining recommendations and excursion planning, the property serves as a stylish jumping-off point for exploring nearby attractions; rooms start around $230/night."

Recently visited Belize and stayed at this beautiful Hotel. It's a 5-minute walk from the water taxi, which was so convenient. The warm welcome from the staff instantly set the tone; they’re not just professional, they’re genuinely kind and attentive. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained, offering the perfect mix of modern comfort and classic charm. Every detail, from the plush bedding to the thoughtful amenities, made our stay feel special. 1000000000000000000000% recommend

Albeit our stay started a little rocky as the driver, arranged by the hotel did not show up at the airport, leaving us to arrange transportation by ourselves, we had a pleasant stay. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. The food at the restaurant, even though a bit expensive, was also really good and so was the service. We walked around during the day and felt completely safe. The only thing we could lament is the Pool being smaller than it appears on the pictures but it’s still refreshing.

The hotel was clean, refreshing, smelling great. The staff i must say was courteous and helpful especially Jolene Dawson, Dalia the manager and Hector the bell hop. There were other persons at the front desk who were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Overall, the ambiance was so lovely that the cleaning staff and all were exceptional. The conference room that we utilized was spacious, clean and wonderful.

I had a fabulous time staying at this establishment. Every staff member I encountered were very friendly and helpful. From the hotel, I was able to walk to the port to catch the boat to San Pedro and enjoy the festivities of Carnival. Seeing the masqueraders in all their beautiful customs was especially nice.

Fort George hotel was beautiful! Located right near the water, walkable to restaurants and the ferry, clean and comfortable rooms, upscale bathroom fixtures, great pool, bright and airy courtyard, top of the line gym equipment, and great selection of desserts at the restaurant. The service was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and helpful. 10/10 would stay again

Beautiful new hotel We had massages but they were expensive and mediocre at best. The Pellegrino bottle of water was nearly B$25 which is pretty outrageous. For concierge pick up there was no response for one person, so she took a taxi from the airport. All in all it's a gorgeous new hotel, friendly staff, clean and it looks way better in real life than on the website. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you

I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were, new, clean and bright. They don't have microwaves or access to one but there is a mini fridge in the room. The front desk staff were pleasant especially Ms. JDawson she was the nicest. There is construction around the hotel but it didn't affect our trip. I don't get why people complain about it. It's not happening at night when you're sleeping. The hotel is walking distance to get to the water taxi, restaurants etc. The front desk can always get you a cab or shuttle if you prefer. There's also a restaurant on site, Treehouse. The food was good- nice sized portions, fresh, tasty and well seasoned. Jacklyn was our server a few times and she was great. Overall, if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Belize City, I recommend Fort George.

We only stayed one night but had a fantastic experience and would absolutely come back. We had an oceanfront room in the brand new wing across the street from the main building/lobby. The highlight was definitely the large glass window in the shower that opens up the beautiful ocean view while in the shower - a super unique feature that we loved! Dinner and breakfast at the onsite restaurant The Treehouse were both excellent. The grounds were very clean and well maintained, and we felt very safe in the area. Special shout out to the staff who were all spectacular - every single person we encountered was friendly and made us feel welcomed.
