Inside Radhaus, a Big New Beer Hall at Fort Mason from Biergarten and Suppenkuche | Eater SF

"Set on the waterfront's western flank, Fort Mason is a historic former army post operated by the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture within a National Park; I see it as a cultural hub that houses art galleries, the Magic Theatre, and frequent events such as farmers markets, food truck gatherings, and arts fairs at the Fort Mason Festival Pavilion." - Caleb Pershan

They did not charge it admission fee, but donations are gladly accepted. Small museum but very pretty.

Not bad for a free exhibit. Definitely worth the short trip to the top of the hill and 30 to 60 minutes of viewing time. It's comforting to know that there are still some people who consider preserving history a worthy endeavor.

This is a pretty neat spot! After being there you can definitely see why they picked this spot for a fort, you can see the entire town and the surrounding areas very easily. It's a self guided tour, but you can see how the rooms were set up and get have a bunch of history you can read about the place. Cool fact, MANY famous generals from the 1800s were stationed at this place, including Robert E. Lee. Overall, it's worth the drive, especially since the town of Mason is right there and also fun to explore.

The town of Mason is lovely. The view was beautiful The old timer at the The movie theater manager said it was something to see. It's a gorgeous view. It's historical very important to the area.

Self guided tour. Exhibits were accessible but many exhibits were difficult to read as the signs were worn and letters not visible. Building is not original and the exhibits were not displayed very well. The small grounds and deck was beautiful and a good view of the town below.

Incredible views. Standing in and around the fort, walking her grounds, you can really feel the history - hard to describe feeling that many other larger and more well-known sites are lacking.

Fort Mason is nestled a top a hill overlooking the historic town of Mason. This Fort was one of a few built here in Texas to protect the westward settlers and named after Lt. George Mason who was killed in action near Brownsville.

I like the fact that they fixed it with the plexiglass tour, you could actually kinda walk into the room and get a guy, really good view of the living quarters very well. Kept and maintained
