I’ve never taken the time to write a review for an airport before, but I feel compelled to share my experience. During my recent travels, I discovered something wonderful that I hadn't noticed before: two chairs offering massage services. These chairs are a thoughtful addition for anyone seeking relaxation before or after a long flight. I can’t emphasize enough how much I appreciate this small yet significant detail; it provides a comforting and enjoyable escape amidst the hustle and bustle of travel!

Google
Fort McMurray is a small but very nice airport. Its clean and modern and has at least one large restaurant and few other food outlets. Staff here is very nice and rental car desks are just as you leave security so you don't have to leave the building. Good airport. Its small so I know they won't have covered parking anytime soon, but it would be nice to have at least rental area covered.

It’s great. Except on Saturday when Tim Hortons is closed. Earls is great for food.

Rush out to the airport so I can relax in the restaurant before my flight and they are closed until 10:00am. Might as well stay closed as far as I am concerned. Going forward I will ensure that I get here just in time to get through security and board my flight. Timmy’s didn’t even have what I wanted so that just confirms that I will eat before I come to this airport

Very clean, well designed, and organized airport. Staff is friendly and it’s not too busy. Try to get here little early, especially if you’re traveling with children, and visit the observation deck on the third floor. It is small but worth visiting.

I am a random traveler. Always had amazing experience at this airport. No big line up in checking counter. Excellent service with smiles from every airline staff. Security is so fast. Done in few minutes. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Very nice and neat and clean airport. Not much people around. Burger King, Tim Horton’s are open for limited time. However they offer free parking pass if you buy more than $10 or so. Earls kitchen, Tim Horton’s and convenient store are located in passenger waiting area. Washrooms are super clean. Lots of comfortable sitting area for passenger.

Google
They did not print my boarding passes, had to wait 20 minutes. Then they proceeded to "randomly" search all of us, which includes an infant. They scanned our infant with a drug detection stick. While we explained the flight boarding had already started, they continued with this absurd "random" search. For context, we were the only people left in line. This is the 2nd time I have been "randomly" searched at this airport. For further context, I'm a minority but a fully born Canadian. I hope I don't get searched randomly next time I come.

Google
If I could give this airport negative stars I would. Waiting over an hour and a half for luggage because there's two airplanes on the ground is absolutely ridiculous. You're an international airport for crying out loud. Do better

Yelp
Wow, the Fort McMurray Airport feels like an airport now! When I flew in, I didn't have to walk into the cold to get to the terminal and it was attached to a gate. Now, they have 6 gates, with adequate seatings, washrooms, and tvs. The seats even have cup holders too. The upstairs has self serve check ins and I went to the counter to get my luggage tag and put it on the belt. No line ups! Pre-security there's a gift shop, Burger King, Mary Browns, and soon to be opening a Tim Hortons upstairs. Downstairs there's a Famoso and it beside the luggage belt. There was a line of about 10 people in front of me in the security. It moved well until they had to take a swab sample from a passenger and all the others were left waiting for the staff to finish that. After security, there's a Jugo Juice, Starbucks, convenience store, and the only restaurant is Earls which can get busy. It's seat yourself but there's no sign so we waited until we were told we could sit wherever. Depending on how busy it is, it might be a good idea to be here at least an hour before your flight departs to ensure you get your food and time to eat it. The only complaint I have is that leaving the airport on the main level there is only one set of electronic doors. So after everyone has received their luggage, there's a wait to get out of the airport. Compared to the amenities and space of the old airport, this one is a great improvement! Won't mind flying into this airport again soon.

Yelp
I was impressed that this small airport had a above ground departures drop off and main level arrival pick up! No lines anywhere. You could probably arrive thirty minutes before your flight and be okay (if you aren't checking a bag). The only real restaurant is Earl's. Very easy to navigate. Bathrooms are clean. It takes about half an hour to get to the core of town. And about 15mins to get to the other midway part of town (Sorry for my Fort McMurray geography ignorance).

Yelp
Straight forward airport. Security is usually quick. There's an Earls to kill some time before your flight. 6 gates total. Rentals are downstairs. The cars themselves are just across the street. Two baggage carousels (if I remembered downstairs correctly). Easy drop off and pick up.

Yelp
YMM has got to be the smallest airport I've been to in Canada. I didn't expect anything huge, but it was definitely smaller than I expected. I flew in on a Friday evening and flew out on a Sunday evening. This is probably the opposite of what everyone else does, because the airport wasn't very busy. There are only two places to get food in the airport - a Subway and a sports bar right next to it. There is also a counter before security where you can get a few postcards and the like (more expensive than the Discovery Centre gift shop). I used the online check-in for both of my flights and I didn't have any baggage, so I can't comment on the airline desk. There were only a couple of people in line when I glanced, but again, wasn't a busy time. Security was hassle-free. There are only two gates once you get past security. Food and drink options are the two vending machines. You'll have to walk out onto the tarmac for any of your flights. There are a bunch of chairs pre-security if you'd rather wait out there. I arrived an hour before my flight and I probably would've gotten there 20 minutes early and been fine. YMM doesn't have any international flights (except for Denver), so I can't see any reason for anyone to get here much earlier than they need to. This airport is pure function.

Yelp
YMM: The only airport where I've seen a a large group of men standing in the bar before 11am drinking bottles of Canadian like it's 11pm. It's small, it's male-dominated, it has turbo hand dryers in the washroom! (I kind of like it)

Yelp
If flying out of this airport, don't get there till like 30 minutes before the flight. The gates/terminal is so small, there is no room to relax within security. Now, if you are crazy paranoid in missing your flight, like me, then get there early and chill at the subway. But just be prepared to board like 5 minutes before your flight takes off. Also, stick with Westjet when flying out - bigger plane, more room, and more comfortable than most of the Air Canada flights.

Yelp
The CBSA officers are friendly when I came back from the U.K, they are efficient, kind, and the new revamping really made the place better. I disagree with the "No Security" or "Takes Forever" comments. I might be bias, being a native to the town, but honestly, there's not much to hate 'bout us. (For you Americans, we say "Gray", not "Grey", "Colour", not "Color", and we say "About", not "Aboot", neighbours.)
