"Mikkeller Oakland, the tasting room and bottle shop focused on the famous Danish brewery, is no more. The Rockridge bar opened in 2016, taking over the former Trappist Provisions space — a smaller offshoot of popular Oakland beer bar The Trappist. But the ownership remained the same and still does today. Now, Mikkeller Oakland is transforming back into Trappist Provisions. That means a broader selection of Belgian and Belgian-style beers will replace the narrow focus on Mikkeller, but the sleek, minimalist aesthetic isn’t likely to change much." - Janelle Bitker

Meh Mikkeller bar. The tap list is quite small and they didn't really have anything on that I was excited about. Not sure why they need this location in Oakland when just across the bridge is another Mikkeller bar with a much better selection of beers. And still can't get small pours...

Small, hip, Scandinavian designy space, neat selection of rare and tasty beers, a bit pretentious but pretty cool. Not a place I'd spend a lot of time sitting and drinking, but neat to check out. Nice that they serve halfs.

Place is awesome. It's not the place you go for a wine-and-dine date, per se, but it is exactly where you need to go if you're looking for a beautiful, golden Belgian brew. They have around 10 taps and a hug bottle list, and the pour isn't even that expensive. I also really like the location, which is far less intimidating than where the Trappist is located in Oakland. The staff here was also very chill, and super knowledgeable! I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

This is my new favorite spot for beer. The bartender was by far the nicest person I've come into contact with. The beers I tried were so good and left me feeling really groovy. The selection is awesome and I love the overall atmosphere of the place. I came here on a nice date & I will definitely be coming back!

Small and cozy place to step in and grab a beer. I was disappointed with the lack of selections from a brand so known for their top tier beers. Also this might be the first tasting room I've been to that doesn't offer tasting flights of beer. Really? I have to get a full pour of each beer I want to try? That was the one thing that got me interested in coming here since Mikkeller is usually overpriced and it would've been a good way to try more. Oh well, at least the single pour was pretty good.

Stopped here on my visit up north. It's a great little spot. Amazing selection of beers. The person on staff that day wasn't very helpful, but the ambiance is very laid back and chill. It is kind of small, but this is a must stop if you find yourself in the area.

So happy to have come across and visited this tasting room and bottle shop on our way through California. The beers themselves were pricey (bottle shop), but they are a good alternative if you don't stop through Mikkeller Bar in San Francisco or Los Angeles. The only reason I gave this aesthetically pleasing location a 4 and not 5, is because the bartender was less than enthusiastic, awkward and slightly rude to talk to. My excitement was evident, and he made no attempt to reach out and make the experience memorable for me. That being said he guided me find some of the right bottles after some persistent questioning. Will be back, but look out for the bartender.

One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. Always a fascinating array of European and American beers on tap. I love that they always have a few sour and funky beers on hand. It's a great place to chill, taste, and gab
