Dallas Restaurant Openings to Know in February 2025 | Eater Dallas

"A food-truck-to-storefront success story with a small-menu café format focused on American favorites — from steak to grilled salmon — accompanied by straightforward, seasonally changing sides such as potatoes au gratin, green beans, and mushrooms. It serves lunch, brunch, and dinner, and is noted as a place to get a solid cheeseburger." - Courtney E. Smith

Originally on our list but expedited after a friend's referral with glowing reviews. Dish 1: a 16oz ribeye with mashed spuds and an extra side of asparagus. Dish 2: rack of lamb with mushrooms. Desserts: banana pudding and flan. The ribeye was seasoned to perfection with bourbon cream sauce which is a supercool combination. For the record, the ribeye easily stood on its own as one of the best and somehow this bourbon cream still found a way to lift this high quality protein a notch. The rack if lamb was no traditional lamb, its Texas seasoned and fire grilled. Move aside you amateurs as this rack of lamb is fit for the gods. Paired with either the red wine demi or bourbon cream sauce. Red wine demi for tradition, but branch out as the bourbon cream successfully elevates the lamb further than its traditional red wine partner. The made in-house desserts are fantastic. These treats will soften the hardest critics of post meal indulgences. The service is some of the best you will encounter in Fort Worth. They know the menu, they know the processes, they know the flavors, and they know the textures. What are you waiting for? You will not be disappointed in any way!

The best kept secret in Fort Worth. From the time you enter you can feel the peaceful Vibes Ms Terri is So nice, Staff is outstanding, Chef is amazing, The Salmon my favorite, comes out hot and cooked to your liking. Google
This place is phenomenal! Our server Terry was amazing!! The red snapper with the red sauce is to die for! The sautéed mushrooms were delicious! All the food was full of flavor! We tried all 3 of the desserts & the crème brûlée was my favorite! However, they’re all spectacular! We had an opportunity to meet the owner/chef Tony Chaundry! He’s a very nice guy & wow can he cook!!!!!! We will definitely be returning to try another amazing dish!

Google
Fort Redemption is a hidden gem, minutes away from the Fort Worth Stockyard. Amazing ambiance, great food menu, and full bar with a quality wine list. The brisket is delicious, and I can not emphasize this enough... HAVE the Salmon Bene 🔥🔥 Place is privately owned and has great service, led by the owner, who is always making his rounds to meet guests.

Went to Fort Redemption today for brunch with some girlfriends. I absolutely love the wall coverings with the pink flowers. The restaurant is visually beautiful. Our waiter Jeremy was amazing. He seemed to be the only server on premises, and he took great care of us. They have a wonderful espresso martini. The brisket breakfast tacos were delicious. I would definitely return to Fort Redemption.

Google
Friendly staff and great food ! You can taste the passion, quality and love in every bite !!! Highly recommend. Also the staff is really friendly and easy to talk to. We were a party of two we ordered the burger and the salmon and they were both on point. My burger was cooked to order ( I would’ve liked it more done but it was great regardless). And the desserts were awesome ( see photos)

Google
Nothing short of phenomenal! New favorite Fort Worth Steak house! The best steak we’ve EVER had - and we eat a LOT of filets! Both side sauces were amazing, but to me, the red wine deli was sublime. Tony, the owner, spent time talking with us about history, current ingredient sources, and his experience and philosophy on serving delicious meals at very affordable process. Clarisse made our cocktails and they were perfection. Menu is limited - intentionally - and that IS the RIGHT approach for this neighborhood gem. Highest quality food and very reasonable pricing make this place a must try and a favorite. Try it once and you will be back for more. The same meal (cocktails, entrees, salad, and after dinner drinks) at a “high end” steakhouse would cost minimum of 50% more.

Google
Wednesday is a burger special, burger was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the jalepeno Mac and cheese was amazing as well. Inside was very nice and the staff was friendly. I can imagine dinner is amazing giving the work they put into a lunch burger!

Yelp
We were recommended Fort Redemption by our food friends and I can see why. The place is in a shopping center. You wouldn't know a wonderful place like this existed if it wasn't for word of mouth. We came on a Friday night and there were 2 other parties there sitting at the tables. There were a few at the bar and one couple that came in when we left. Walking in felt like going into a loft. The space was open, but it also felt homey and the seats were VERY comfortable. So comfortable that my husband, before we left the restaurant, said "sit on my seat". The seat hugged my butt very well. We were greeted by Chloe. I LOVE HER! She is an amazing server and so friendly. She gave us great wine recommendations. I love a girl who's knowledgeable about her wine! She even gave us a card at the end of service with a recommendation for another wine. She is truly fantastic. We ordered a charcuterie board, the lamb chops (recommended by our friend), sirloin, banana pudding and flan. They were all so tasty. The rub on the sirloin and the lamb were delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection! The portions and price point were really outstanding. I ended up taking my 2 of my lamb chops home. I asked Chloe the best way to reheat it. I did what she said the following day for dinner and it was still juicy. Did I tell you that I absolutely love Chloe??? I wanted to write this review to rave about this place to drum up some business for it. I want to see this place succeed. Highly highly recommend this spot for a nice date night or just a night out with friends. You will not be disappointed. Oh and on Wednesdays for lunch, the burger is only $10 and I heard it was the best burger in Fort Worth, according to my foodie friends.

Yelp
I have never been disappointed with this place. My husband and I happened upon Fort Redemption on a Sunday night after a long event weekend, and it was legitimately exactly what I needed. Atmosphere is inviting. Staff is down to earth and honest. Owner and his family are kind. Food is fantastic... uncomplicated menu with the best options at great prices. I still look forward to going with my husband to this spot on a date night. We have been back numerous times since our first Sunday date night and EVERY TIME they bring consistency of high quality to the table.

Yelp
We were excited to try Fort Redemption during our visit to Fort Worth! If you're looking for a good steak, this is your place! Ours was cooked perfectly rare! The sides were fresh and you can tell that thought and passion go into everything that comes out of the kitchen here! Our waitress was fantastic and informative! My favorite part though, is how involved the owner and chef is. He came out to make sure we enjoyed our meal, walked around and chatted with everyone and makes everyone feel like they're family. This is the kind of local place that if we lived close, we'd be at once a week. Not just for the incredible food, but because everyone there is fun to be around. We will be back next time we are in town!

Yelp
Fort Redemption is a simple menu that focuses on doing the basics well. This place is new only opening 4 months ago. We decided to try it for lunch and we were not disappointed. Our waitress was very polite and knew the menu well. I tried the Breakfast Burger and the regular burger. Both burgers were seasoned perfectly and both were incredibly juicy. The potatoes au gratin were creamy and very tasty. For dessert I tried the Banana Pudding which was the biggest surprise of the afternoon. This was layered very well and so far the best version of a banana pudding I've found in Fort Worth. They do have some things to iron out as far as a more user friendly reservation system because right now it's only by phone. But hey they are new and will figure it out.

Yelp
Thanks, Yelp, for yet another hidden gem - and this one only open for a short three months. Based on our visit, Fort Redemption is doing a lot of things right. They offer a small menu but don't let that discourage you. Every last thing we ate was spectacular: cooked to order, seasoned well, full of flavor and left us wanting more. I rarely say "every last thing" was great. We were impressed. Drinks: I asked for a margarita even though it wasn't in their menu. She made it like she absolutely made it everyday. It wasn't too limey and really well balanced. My guy ordered an Old Fashioned - spot on. Food: He opted for the rib eye and I chose the beef tenderloin. We shared brussels and saved room for their banana pudding (thanks, Yelp - you were right!). Sitting at the bar gave us a better vantage point into the kitchen. It's always cool to see all the attention and love given to a great meal, right before it's delivered to you. Chef Troy came out a little while later and chatted with us. This has been a labor of love. Sending our best wishes for continued success. If your meal is anything like ours was, Fort Redemption will be around for years to come!

Yelp
The remodeled space is nice - service was also very good. We went for lunch and the food was good. We would like to go for dinner or one of their many special events. We will be back!

Yelp
10/10 burger! Family owned and operated with deeelicious local beef. Thank you Toney, Terry and Braden for impeccable service and an outstanding experience!

Alan F.

Yelp
Food too expensive. Quality is lacking for amount charged. Place could be cleaner. Service was good with friendly attitude.

Yelp
This has been a great find in recent months, very thoughtful and energetic staff from the front to the back. We've enjoyed their dinner menu and brunch having a couple excellently prepared steaks and sides; and assortment of breakfast and fantastic desserts. Though the seem to run short on one of the options the two times I've visited.

Yelp
Chef Tony has passion and talent for taking French techniques like sauces and infusing them into Texan fare like cheeseburgers and steaks with gourmet sauces such as bourbon-cream. I keep record of phenomenal burgers where the patty flavor hits! This Redemption Cheeseburger is a huge burger with 1/2 a pound of beefy deliciousness! It clearly demonstrates a mastery of the culinary craft powered by passion. The same can be said about his banana pudding. Easily the best that I have ever had. I could go on like this about the brisket, tacos and sauces. I think you get the trend. The vibes are chill & the service is on point. I feel like I was lucky to be invited in before this place blows up and reservations have to made 2-3 months out.

Yelp
Service was amazing, the chef came and visited our table and the staff was great! The food... everything was perfectly prepared and delish and high quality. 5 out of 5!!

Yelp
Visiting from out of town, we found this place on Yelp near to a doctor appointment and feel like we hit the jackpot! Chef Troy and hostess/server Alanna made our lunch special with their great service and enthusiasm. Although the food is a winner all on its own, hearing the story of how they and Chef Tony welded the tables, built the partitions and literally put this place together from scratch was amazing. The stylish decor makes the meal feel special even when having a casual lunch. We started with an excellent espresso martini. The brisket jalapeño mac and cheese was SO good! The salmon and asparagus was cooked perfectly. The bourbon cream sauce is so tasty. And the creme brûlée and the banana pudding are must orders! I only wish I lived here to come more often.

Yelp
Exceptional steak! Cosmopolitans are insanely good! Service is outstanding and atmosphere is intimate and has a familiarity that is heartwarming. The owner is the chief. Highly recommend. The steak sauce is something that I could drink.

Yelp
Love this new spot on West Fort Worth. We had a group of six there for lunch. The Ahi tuna, brisket tacos, and cheeseburgers (ask them to add some brisket to your burger) were all top notch. The brisket was moist and tender and delicious. The mac and cheese was some of the best I have had. Our server was extremely attentive. I look forward to going back for brunch.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
Food, Ambiance. $$$$! though. Went to lunch, I had the steak and wife had (don't recall) but I think it was good. Expensive however, but unique experience.

Linda E.

Yelp
Just went for brunch. Can't wait to go back. The place looks lovely now. Three of us were able to have conversation without yelling at each other. Split the salmon and brisket Benedict's (both preferred the salmon). Breakfast tacos pronounced top notch. I don't even like banana pudding and theirs was wonderful. Cocktails were delicious. Just a super new place.

Yelp
In from out of town. Came in for Dinner with my son based on the amazing Yelp ratings and.. well... unbelievable. Best experience ever!! The 8 ounce filet mignon was the best I've ever had and I've had it all over the country. My son had a massive 16 ounce ribeye, and he too stated it was the best he had tasted. The presentation and cooking was beyond anything I can describe. The mashed potatoes were perfect with a hint of pepper, and had me asking for more. Let's go back to the steaks. The steaks and their preparation was very special, with a specific taste that the best. The steaks were moist, cooked to perfection and prepared like you would expect from a 5-Diamond award winning restaurant. The service: the owner and chef came out to personally check on us and our dinner experience. That alone was a treat! The wait staff made us feel as though we were the only patrons there, and the service was beyond expectations! The venue: while located in an unassuming strip-like mall facing the road, once you open the front door to enter, you are transported to decor and an experience that is A+++ in every way. This establishment is predicated on 3 things: An amazing food experience and journey, A+++ service from EVERYONE, and food prices that are probably 1/2 of what they would be elsewhere. In short, A+++ food , ambiance, and service fit for a king, with prices that don't gouge, and literally make you think they are in error they are so amazing. This is my new Go-To when in Fort Worth or Dallas. If you want to be wowed, come try this food and service experience, they will treat you like family and leave you with a full stomach, happy heart and money left in your pocket. I'm confident that you too will be hooked. #BestEver #YouCantGoWrong

Yelp
A dedicated owner with amazing food in an atmosphere appropriate for anything from casual to upscale dining! The service is individualized and spot on. The brisket and ahi tuna are awesomely unique with juiciness and flavor that lingers in impressively pleasant ways. I have to make a special note on Tony's way of searing ahi that is refreshingly different than the typical sesame seared, Asian style that seems to be the go-to for most places. I like my ahi rare, and it was made to perfection. It is lightly seasoned and has a subtle smokiness that truly allows the natural flavors to come out without overpowering any of them. That is passion and art in food, not easily accomplished or perfected, and is quite impressive! The brisket is amazing. Slow smoked the way he thoughtfully perfected it on the precursor food truck of the same name, you can't go wrong here either. With brunch, lunch and dinner menus that may seem on the smaller side, the variety remains impressive and allows them to perfect every dish to your tastebuds delight! I highly recommend Fort Redemption whether you are stopping in for a drink and something small to eat, having a full meal alone or with friends, or ask Tony about catering options he can customize for your event or occasion!! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Another food truck converted to brick and mortar. Great new place to enjoy a great steak -totally want to go back and try the lamb

Ashley E.

Yelp
We tried this place on a Sunday afternoon. The brunch menu is very limited but nonetheless, the food was amazing! Best burger I've had in a long time. I also highly recommend the jalapeño Mac and cheese. Service was also great. The staff were very attentive and polite. We will definitely be back to try more options in the menu.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Best steak we have had in years, and be sure and have the banana pudding for dessert, it's wonderful! Our server was named Bree, please ask for her, she's great!
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Went for lunch and had the brisket jalapeño mac and cheese. It was so good! Our server was attentive and quick. I will definitely go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious food, great service! Glad I followed the online reviews to give this place a try.
google avatar

Ian M.

Yelp
Great food and great service. The recommended burger had great flavor. A 1/2 burger is filling but tasty for sure.....Mac and cheese was creamy and a tiny kick with the jalapeños. Definitely recommend trying it out.
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
This place is a gem. Quaint, yet sleek and modern, and excellent service and dining. Great value for the high quality as well. I've had the bone in ribeye special and the rack of lamb (which were some of the best I've ever had). My wife said her filet was also one of the best she's had. What I appreciate most is that the owner/chef has developed the right size menu that he can execute well, instead of trying to offer too many things.
google avatar

Angel H.

Yelp
We came for brunch and the menu is small, but that's what probably makes it so tasty because they can devote their efforts to these dishes on their brunch menu. Everything tasted amazing. The waitress that tended to us was awesome and had a great personality, and we enjoyed visiting with others that checked on us during our visit. Brunch was great, but I'm betting their dinner will knock your socks off. Can't wait to go back for a steak and some bourbon crème sauce.

L W.

Yelp
We had heard the lunch and brunch were fantastic. However our dinner was only okay. The service, food and ambiance were okay but a disappointment. Definitely not the quality we expected. We will try it again during the day with hopes of an improvement.
google avatar

Genifer B.

Yelp
So much noise and foul language emanating from the kitchen, it made the burger (which was an expensive version of food truck fare) inedible. It was difficult to determine what this place was meant to be - fine dining, upscale casual or elevated comfort food. I am going with comfort food, but it lacked the panache of a sit down restaurant. The service was forgettable, except for the spicy kitchen repartee.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
My husband and I had breakfast tacos from their weekend brunch menu. Truly excellent service and food, great green salsa.
google avatar

Diane G.

Yelp
Came in for brunch. Absolutely delicious breakfast. Brisket is amazing. This is definitely becoming a regular stop for us.
google avatar

Anne W.

Yelp
We, 8 of us, went for brunch yesterday and it's pretty hard to please us all but there was not a one of us that didn't rave about their meal. The ambiance was lovely and the service was impeccable. I had the eggs Benedict with brisket and it was seasoned to perfection. No salt and pepper was on the table and there wasn't a need for it. So please taste before, you will not need any. We will be back soon. A tremendous experience, thank you.
google avatar

Donna S.

Yelp
Wonderful newer restaurant. Amazing food & drink served by the best people.. No matter your dining choice it will be a pleasant one!
google avatar

Bruce T.

Yelp
Showed up right around lunch and was greeted and had a great table. Was there for a biz lunch. Got the brisket mac & cheese and my biz partner had the brisket sandwich. Sometimes, it's really hard to find great brisket, even here in Texas, but they nailed it! Some of the best I've had. Will definitely be a return eater!

Sunny B.

Yelp
Fort Redemption had good food, but the overall experience just didn't quite hit the mark for me. I had a burger, and my husband had a steak--both were pretty nice, but the ambiance was off. The space is very small, so if you don't have a reservation, expect to sit at the bar and overhear every conversation around you. It's not a bad spot, but it's also not my first choice. If there were no other options, we'd consider going back, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
google avatar

Barb C.

Yelp
We ordered the cheese and meat tray as we enjoyed a glass of wine and a cocktail. It was very good (despite the fact my husband was missing crackers or bread). We also tried the mushrooms and brussel sprouts which were Excellent!! Tony, the owner and Troy came to talk with us. Teri the waitress was kind and helpful. We will definitely return.
google avatar

Donald W.

Yelp
Just off Camp Bowie in this small shopping center is a beautifully decorated restaurant with a modern spin and small menu our waitress was super sweet and knowledgeable we followed her recommendations and I have to say the rack of lamb was delicious the au gratin potatoes were good but I really enjoyed the brussel sprouts my wife had mainly sides and enjoyed each of them equally and now finishing it off with a little banana pudding hope you enjoy as much as I did

Elyn M.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Such a hidden gem. The menu is easy to get through and, so far, everything we've had (lunch, brunch and dinner) has been exceptional. Hoping the dinner menu will expand some, but that's a small complaint. Everything is fresh and scratch made, so a limited menu makes sense. Always look forward to going back. Very friendly staff and good cocktails as well. Atmosphere is simple but very comfortable. Great when you're running out for a quick bite or for a special date. I really can't say enough good things about Fort Redemption. Plus, the prices are amazingly reasonable.

Linda T.

Yelp
We tried the brisket mac n cheese and the brisket tacos. Loved them both. Server was very friendly and helpful. We look forward to going again!
google avatar

Trina C.

Yelp
Wow! Went in for a late lunch. I ordered the cheeseburger and hubby ordered ribeye. It was amazing. The staff were terrific. Only been open a couple of months. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Avery H.

Yelp
Fort Redemption now has a brick and mortar! They were a food truck and have planted roots off Locke with a beautiful space. The hostess was fabulous sharing wonderful information about the restaurant! Family owned and everybody was friendly! The brisket tacos are the best and have so much flavor. The jalapeño mac and cheese is amazing and so are the potatoes au gratin and brussels sprouts! I haven't had anything I didn't love! Great local spot!

Peter H.

Yelp
Had a great meal. Had the special for the day. Red Snapper. Cooked perfectly. Cocktails are wonderful. I'll be back. Appreciate the conversations with the owner Tony and staff member Terry. Sat at the bar. Excited to return. The decor is great and the restaurant is very clean with attention to detail.
google avatar

Zoe M.

Yelp
Staff very welcoming. Restaurant beautifully decorated. Everyone so attentive! Steak cooked perfectly. Nice wine list. 10/10. Make a reservation to ensure you can be accommodated - it really helps them out! Lovely experience - highly recommend.

Vianei B.

Yelp
THE BEST! Brand new place - we have gone to brunch twice and returned for dinner in less than two weeks. Truly exceptional food across the board and very well priced. Phenomenal burgers, decadent potatoes au gratin, top-notch steaks (the bourbon cream sauce is to die for), creative eggs Benedict with smoky brisket, lovely tiramisu, creme brûlée and pumpkin pie, the list goes on. Generously sized mimosas and Cosmos, sophisticated selection of wines by the glass, beautiful ambiance (don't let the strip center exterior fool you), and wonderful service, often with a welcome from Chef Tony himself. Convenient location off Camp Bowie near I-30 but easy to miss - PLEASE support this hidden gem!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm forced to write at least 85 characters so here we are, but this place is super good and not expensive

Miguel R.

Yelp
Loved our dining experience. We decided to come here based on fellow Yelp reviews and they were spot on. Loved that the menu is not overwhelming and what they offer is terrific. Our server Dani was fantastic. She was very engaging and attentive . Meat and cheese board great way to start off. Lamb chops and banana pudding are a must try. Cocktails and wine list are also great. Definitely getting your best bang for your buck here. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
Great dinner !! Best burger ...steakhouse quality and super tasty tenderloin with sauce!! Banana pudding there is my favorite . Well be back

Candi A.

Yelp
We went here solely looking for banana pudding for my nieces birthday and saw multiple good reviews. Staff very welcoming. We sat at the bar for desserts only. Small restaurant and very nice/clean. Don't notice it is a restaurant from the name/location but navigation will take you there easily. Bar area was comfortable, has a lot of options. Pudding with a few too many bananas for me but good flavor. Will definitely want to go back to try food.

Larry N.

Yelp
2 friends and I had lunch here today. We all thought it was a great experience. I had their chicken enchiladas and my friends both had brisket tacos. Loved the food...service was fast and friendly and the interior of the restaurant was very nice. We're all anxious to go back for lunch AND for a first time (for us) dinner. If you like local, well run restaurants, you'll love Fort Redemption.

Pat M.

Yelp
My adult son and I ate lunch here yesterday. We went early and were the first ones there. I ate the 1/2 pound brisket because I am on the carnivore diet. My son had the brisket sandwich. Both were excellent! Serve was good. Prices are very reasonable. We will be back. Be sure to try them.
