Cool spot to check out if you're in downtown Fort Worth. The Water Gardens are a mix of fountains and modern concrete design definitely a different vibe from your typical city park. The main waterfall area is fun to walk down into, and there’s a quiet pool if you just want to sit and chill for a bit. It's free, open to the public, and not usually too crowded. Not a place I’d go way out of my way for, but a nice stop if you’re already nearby or looking for a peaceful break in the city.

This water garden offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city. Its picturesque landscapes and lush greenery create a truly captivating atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy strolling along winding paths, admiring the vibrant flowers, and plants. The numerous fountains and cascading waterfalls add a soothing soundtrack to the experience. It's a perfect place to relax, reflect, and capture lasting memories.

The Fort Worth Water Gardens is a peaceful escape right in the city. The sound of rushing water is so calming, and the design is super cool and unique. Great for a quiet walk, photos, or just relaxing. A hidden gem worth checking out!

Google
Relaxing place to see different water and architecture designs. Would have been better if all water features were working as designed. Still work a view and walk around.

This is an awesome Fort Worth exhibit. I can tell you my family truly enjoyed everything about this. There is a "mountain" to climb. Overaĺl very safe and inviting.

I went to visit my son in Fort Worth Texas. He took me to this place since it was only about 20 minutes from his house. It's small but really nice.

Google
A great spot to visit and enjoy the scenery. I would recommend going around evening during the hot seasons to avoid the heat.

So we’re in town for a little bit and we were looking forward to a nice outside area. We were expecting something pretty different than what we had encountered. Many parts of the water displays were not on/functional, the water was significantly dirty: leaves, trash, flip flops(?), water bottles, etc.. It was pretty obvious that it has not been properly taken care of recently, I’d imagine it would’ve been a much better visit if it had been moderately taken care of.

Yelp
Review #5/25 for 2025 I will try to keep this short and sweet! This place is located next to the convention center and its free and open 24/7. Its a great place to come by on a hot afternoon and cool of with the water misting around. Sometimes you will see different vendors selling food like ice pops or sometimes you see food trucks lined up on the street for people to enjoy. The city of Fort Worth has free parking after 5pm in public parking meters and parking lots owned by the city are free.

Yelp
This place is magical. I first saw this on the map and thought, "Oh, that'd be interesting to check out.". But when I approached the main water garden, I heard a huge waterfall and was simply amazed by what I saw. I must have stood there for a good minute before realizing I had stopped in the middle of the pathway and other people were trying to get around me. Oops! I didn't imagine the water garden so deep into the ground, though it makes sense, given the scale of the falls. I explored the main water garden by taking the precarious steps down to the center platforms at the bottom. Some steps were smaller than others, so I'd suggest taking your time going down if you're afraid of heights. Down at the bottom, you could barely hear any of the surrounding noises of the city, drowned out by the raging waters of the garden. It was quite peaceful, either by yourself or with friends. I also checked out the other water gardens, though only the tranquility pool was open. This garden seemed the least visited as I only saw one or two other people there. Also very quiet, the tranquility pool provides an appreciated respite from everyday stressors. I found myself very relaxed, having the pool primarily for myself. All in all, it is a beautiful place to visit if you're nearby. It's next to the Ft. Worth Convention Center if you're ever in town for a conference!

Yelp
GAR! We parked, we trekked, we got all excited to see the famous Water Gardens...only to find out that 3 of the 4 falls were closed for maintenance! What a bummer. Now, maybe they do this every fall, but it's not like the water's gonna freeze in Texas in November--it was 70 degrees when we were there! Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely park, but when you're expecting cascading waterfalls and only get a sprinkle, it's like ordering a milkshake and getting skim milk. Moral of the story? Its not like you can call ahead either, its just a recording about booking the space. Just cross your fingers, or just bring your own water bottle and create a DIY waterfall experience!

Rachel B.

Yelp
Many of the fountains were off. No easy parking. Was confusing walking around and trying to get back to the street.

Yelp
This place is at the southern end of the core downtown business district. I had visited it years ago when I lived in Fort Worth briefly, but I did not recall much about it. We were in the area and had 30 minutes before a nearby lunch appointment, so we stopped by. We arrived around 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday. There were a lot of people around and it seemed safe at that time; I'm not sure what it is like in the evening, though. We were able to find street parking about 2 blocks away. It was free at the time (I think the parking meter said that it was free on weekends and after 6 p.m., but you should double check that if you are using a metered space). There are at least 2 entrances to the park at opposite corners. There appeared to be 3 different water features surrounding a small plaza in the middle. There were also stone-capped landscaping / walls surrounding the place. The first and most popular feature is a sort of inverted ziggurat where the water flows down into the lowest point. There are block stairs (no railings) via which you can access the low point and look up at the terraces. We descended here and checked it out. It was interesting but can get crowded. The next feature is a sunken pool surrounded by walls. You can descend a staircase and be at pool level. I think it is supposed to be a more serene setting. The final feature is a slightly sunken pool with spray heads at intervals, creating a spray level about 3 feet above the pool, along with shifting rainbows if it is sunny out. If you are in the area and have at least 30 minutes, this is worth seeing just for the novelty. Kids seemed to like it too, mostly for the opportunities for climbing on rocks or steps.

Yelp
It's beautiful. We go once a year just to remind ourselves of how cool this place is. If you want a free , calming place with lots of newer history, come check out the Fort Worth Water Gardens

Yelp
I took a trip to Fort Worth this past April, and spent a couple hours walking around the Water Gardens. I have always been a big fan of the old sci-fi movie Logan's Run, and the climactic ending was shot here. The Water Gardens exceeded my expectations. I was able to walk down the steps into the heart of the water -- kinda scary! The roaring of the water is exhilarating and soothing all at once. The quiet pool, on the other side of things, was tranquil and meditative, making me feel like Alice down the rabbit hole, with optical illusions making things look strangely large and small. Anyone who loves water should take some time to roam here.

Yelp
On a trip to Fort Worth, we stopped by Fort Worth Water Gardens on a Saturday afternoon. After finding some street parking, we walked over. On this particular day, the heat was sweltering but we made the most of it. Fort Worth Water Gardens is impressive for its water sculptures. The architectural designs and the way water is incorporated are a sight to see. There are several different works of art you can see so walk around and check them out while learning about each one. You can get through everything in a half hour or so. Fort Worth Water Gardens is on the list of the top attractions in Fort Worth on TripAdvisor. Check it out!

Yelp
Fort Worth Water Gardens is a beautiful and refreshing oasis that is conviently adjacent to the convention center and is free of charge to the public. We came through on a weekday during the winter months of Texas to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and just to relax and enjoy the scenic views the water gardens have to offer. When coming here, you can easily find parking downtown at the meters where you can go online and pay by your phone. There are multiple parts of the garden where they have different areas to view in this city park. This is definitely a place to take pictures with friends and family that will last a lifetime. The main attraction is by the Omni hotel, where you can take steps down to a water fountain and enjoy the glistening sound of the water flowing through the rocks. This is where the majority of the pictures are taken, and people simply hang out. There are signs posted throughout the attraction warning visitors to not jump in and swim, which I can definitely see a lot of this happening during the hot Texas summers. Overall, this free attraction is worth checking out if you're in the area with friends and want a break from the city and just to simply relax and keep your mind at ease. Don't forget your camera!

John B.

Yelp
Water stands out whenever you see any in Texas. Somebody in Fort Worth chose to build this novel piece of modern architecture with various water features below ground. Numerous signs state you can't wade or swim, which I guess is somewhat understandable given cleanliness concerns, but I imagine might be torture on a really hot day. There are some interesting sights. The angled structures remind me most of an artificial waterfall in Flint Michigan, oddly enough. This park is close to transit and downtown amenities. It felt a bit dated, aesthetically, but it was interesting. And the mist was refreshing.

Andrew S.

Yelp
This park is located between the Omni Hotel and the Sheraton downtown in Ft. Worth. I expected this place to be dirty and unkept. Surprisingly, it is clean, and it seems people who are there for photos respect the scenery and remains trash-free. There are people who will venture towards the falling water but no signs are posted to stay out of the water area. There is new construction going on around this area which should create a people gathering environment in the near future.

Robert B.

Yelp
Wonderful public park, the city of Fort Worth is really much nicer than Dallas and has more interesting places to visit with people who are much more down to earth. I've taken family to the water gardens a couple of times and can't wait to return. There are great places to eat nearby and on weekends, downtown is NOT crowded or overrun with pretentious crowds. It's quiet and peaceful. My wife and I love it and I can't wait to take my grandson for a visit now that he's a little older and will enjoy the area.

Kimberly D.

Yelp
I haven't been here in about 20 years and somehow it was more beautiful than I remember. Took the grandkids here and my grandson loved it, he was the only one brave enough to walk all the way down with me. It's clean, kept up and just amazing to see. It's a must stop if you're in the area of Fort Worth. We spent about 40 minutes there walking around and taking photos. Next time I want to go at night when it's all lit up

Samantha C.

Yelp
The Fort Worth Water Gardens was a nice public park with several gardens in addition to the famous waterfall. Parking was easy. We came on a Saturday afternoon, and although it was a nice day, metered parking was readily available (and free!). We spent about 30 minutes walking around the park.

Na T.

Yelp
cute area for tourists and locals to snap some great photos! we all liked the aerial fountain the best. its got tiny nozzels that shoots micro mists all over the water pool area - looks like fireworks!

Garry H.

Yelp
What an incredible place! I've known about the water gardens forever, but just never made it. Be sure to go in the morning to avoid the heat. My hats off to whoever designed and built this. I'm so impressed! The quiet pool is just that. Nothing happening, nothing exciting. Just peace and quiet to enjoy in your own zen full solitude. I'm not sure of the purpose of the aerated pool, but it's interesting. If there is a breeze, you get a nice cooling mist. NOW, the star of the show, the active pool! This pool is just absolutely amazing. Walking the steps down to the center of the pool is a must. To stand or sit at the bottom and look up at all the flowing water was just inspiring. I loved every minute of it! Please, please make the time to come see the water gardens. You'll love it!

Azsure D.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in DFW! There are several different water features. I read the reviews on accessibility- some are more accessible but the deep water feature is not accessible and is slippery. This is not for everyone to descend. Sitting and enjoying the sound and view from each level is soothing and stunning. It wipes out the sound of the city. You can meet other people, or bring a picnic. I love all three pools, each is special in it's own right. I find it a great place to spend with family, friends, and for a romantic moment as well.

Khadijah H.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy Thursday morning and it was still so beautiful and quiet. Definitely a must visit. You can go here to sit and eat or read. I believe you are able to get into the pool at the bottom of the garden but I wasn't feeling that adventurous lol.

Matthew W.

Yelp
It's ... Well, you can come here to take pictures, I guess. I'm sure there's something I'm missing, since this place has so many reviews and is featured on so many "must-do" lists of Fort Worth. Maybe it's more aesthetically pleasing at night or in the summer (when it's warmer?) However, it seems like a bunch of steps to climb. You don't need to climb anything, by the way. There are paths that meander through/around the perimeter of the structure. The water garden installations (e.g. Aerated or Mountain) don't seems to be necessarily exciting, beautiful, or interesting. The best water garden picture spot seems to be the one across the street from the Sheraton Hotel. Honestly, I'd spend ten minutes here just to say I've been here, take a few pictures, and leave.

Aiden B.

Yelp
Gardens is a great bar if you're looking for a chill vibe. Luda the bartender is super sweet and very attentive definitely recommend this place.

Amelia L.

Yelp
What an amazing place that's just a hidden in Fort Worth. The water canyon was just awesome fair warning though if you have vertigo be careful going down to the bottom. The whole area was fantastic to see we unfortunately got there late in the evening so we weren't able to see everything an experience it all. But the seeing kids climbing the Mountain was fun to watch the excitement inside was great to see especially now a days when kids are either on the phone or in front the TV playing video games. Next time we will come earlier in the evenings an bring our pups so they can get their energy out also.

Paul Q.

Yelp
One word, beautiful! I strongly recommend going during the week day, less people. This place is perfect for dates, family adventures and even solo missions! There are also a few places to eat near by, definitely recommend stopping by this place!

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Animal Crossing waterfall in real life. Probably one of the most beautiful and breathtaking things in Fort Worth... and it's free! Street parking might be free on weekends too, but double check. This is a place that I would love to bring others, and I've already recommended it to friends who will be visiting.

Len W.

Yelp
There is beauty in the architecture, the large trees and terrain and the calming sounds of the waters. It's free and open year around with easy walking paths. It's also in the downtown area and handy to the convention center, the train and bus center and other amenities.

Kristina H.

Yelp
I did not know we had this special space within the city that flows waterfalls all year around until I read a Childrens's book titled, "Night Night Texas" that my neighbors had bought! I've lived here 5 years, how could I have not known?? Anyway, today we decided was the day to explore the Water Gardens and WOWOWOW! The sound of the water was loud and calming, I just wished people would stop talking LOL so I could only hear it! I ended up just focusing on the water and nothing else, incredible moment. The walk down the stairs is a bit tricky because you have to look down to make sure your feet don't miss the steps, which caused a little bit of vertigo. Thankfully my husband was with me to assist. Also some steps were wet but the steps have texture from the rocks so it wasn't slippery. You have to wait for people to walk down before you can ascend again since the steps stents too wide, just take your time. It's a special time you won't get back. We found meters in front for parking and you don't have to carry coins to pay since the ap will take payment straight from your phone! Easy peasy. As we were leaving, a mariachi band started to play. This whole experience was amazing! I recommend you to visit, maybe bring a blanket and a picnic to stay a while :)

Robert C.

Yelp
This is my third and final visit here. Was hoping the lights would be on in the mist pool but oh well...still a pleasant experience.

Tanja N.

Yelp
Located on the south end of Fort Worth Downtown, Water Gardens is serene oasis located where you'd least expect one. It's easily accessible, with plenty of street parking around, and there are always people there. The gardens consists of three pools of water: the aerating, the quiet and the active pool. The surrounding surface if you decide to walk around is wet and some of the steps are smaller in size, which makes sharing those with few people at the time uncomfortable , so you'll need some patience unless you decide to visit in early am, which we learned firsthand always works the best. It is one of my favorite areas in Fort Worth.

Ava G.

Yelp
This place is absolutely beautiful. Came here at night when there's not as many people and the lights illuminate the gorgeous landscape. It's cool seeing water being displayed in so many ways. Great place for a calm date.

Harold M.

Yelp
Beautiful place, so fascinating to be in the middle of the city and such a relaxing location. The soothing sound of the water falls at the Active Pool made me want to stay for hours.

Michelle G.

Yelp
The previous reviews do not reflect the experience we had today. We are spending the week about an hour from Ft. Worth and drove here specifically to see the water gardens, especially the active water feature. There was NO WATER and the gates were closed. It was extremely hot and no notice that the features were closed. A very disappointing trip to Ft. Worth Water (no water) Gardens.

Scarlett P.

Yelp
The location was perfect to where I was staying, omni hotel. It is directly across the street. I sat next to one of the water falls for an hour just relaxing listening to the water and I did take my shoes off to feel the water. This is good if you just need to unwind and relax or have the family. The kids I saw playing loved it!

Siobhan D.

Yelp
Oh wow, this was a cool, beautiful, and free water garden with several different features: aerated pond, waterfall, and quiet pond. Sadly, no wading nor playing in the water is permitted. But it was a fun way to get in some steps today. I parked at a meter, only 75 cents for 30 minutes. I didn't feel totally safe after dark, so I left. Beautiful space though. Well done, Fort Worth.

Jessica S.

Yelp
A magical water garden in the middle of the city. Take some time to explore and enjoy it.

Michael L.

Yelp
Went to downtown Ft Worth and found this gem of a place. It's peaceful and well thought out by the city of Ft Worth.

Semaria S.

Yelp
this beautiful area was located across from our conference hotel. I wanted to use the fountain area for team photos. Little did we know there was so much more than we could see from street level. It's a nice space to decompress. The pools are amazing photo backdrops as well.

Guy H.

Yelp
Another Ive reviewed in the past that has disappeared? This is a water feature ( fountain ) built into the ground. You are able to decend a cement staircase into the bottom center. There, the outside world is cut off and your submerged in the sound of falling water. A unique experience not to be missed if you are in Ft Worth Texas.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Nice place to sit and walk the displays. Instantly a relaxing and cooling effect being near the water. Even though somewhat crowded, there were plenty of places to sit and enjoy the water installations.

Thao N.

Yelp
Not going to lie, this is really cool. There's nothing going on once you step outside this water garden area, no trendy restaurants within walking distance. But this is something fun to do in the meantime while trying to figure out how to kill some time visiting Fort Worth as it's a pretty small town. You can actually use the steps on walk down, just be careful as some steps can be wet. I don't think you need more than 30 minutes here. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

Randie L.

Yelp
Fun spot in downtown. Super close to the train and bus station. Short ride from North Richland Hills on the TEXRAIL (an amazing local rail system from Fort Worth downtown to DFW airport). I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it's always a neat little getaway. Interactive art + Power of nature. I brought my young kid here for the 2nd time and my toddler nephew for the 1st time. They loved watching the water flowing and walking the staircase down was a milestone in bravery.

Emily P.

Yelp
It was a fun experience and nice stop as we were doing things in the area. It's completely free, which is always a plus. It would be a great place to take pictures or it just enjoy the water and relax. I loved the little oasis they had surrounded by trees.

Linda A.

Yelp
Such a unique water garden. At first I thought it would be slippery to go down. It turns out to be very safe to go down .. the steps are not too far apart from one another... Definitely should check it out!

Jann E.

Yelp
Beautiful public park! Something for everyone at this iconic set of gardens. Recommend wearing good shoes if climbing down into the waterfall garden.

Patrick P.

Yelp
If you are looking for something cool to see or do in the Dallas Fort Worth area then look no further you have found it. The water gardens was definitely cool to see and you can walk down into it. It won't consume your whole day and took us about 45 minutes total to visit. It's definitely neat to check out if you like unique things. Best part also is it's free!

Kris B.

Yelp
*No water running currently due to COVID* It's still a great area to relax and take in some scenery for a little while. Families were out, people were riding bikes, taking pictures. There is tons of space to walk or let the kids run around. If you are planning a day in Ft Worth you can check the website to see if water is back up yet otherwise plan around it. Plenty of fun things to do and explore nearby.

Billie M.

Yelp
The Gardens were very pretty and relaxing. The majority of the pumps were not working and have been down for at least 9 months. It would have been spectacular if they were all working.

Rintu M.

Yelp
Great nature spot to visit in Fort Worth. Come and cool off by the water. Kids will love the waterfall area

Amanda W.

Yelp
I don't really have anything bad to say. I stopped by early in the morning. It was cold and raining, so it definitely was not crowded at all. It is a fun concept and I'm sure would be great to sit and hang out on a day with nice weather. I did not venture down the steps, simply because everything was wet and I did not want to take the chance of slipping. But I would definitely like to go back and visit again.

S L.

Yelp
Cool concept and interesting location near downtown. I had higher hopes that there would be more to see and it would be well taken care of. It was very old looking without much to really see. Seems like something to check off your "to see" list, but I wouldn't return. Would have been 4 stars if it was better cared for. Disappointing overall.

Shunda B.

Yelp
Such beautiful area - I highly recommend visiting here. Very simple, free, and peaceful. If youre brave enough and not clumsy then I suggest going down the stairs into the falls - unfortunately I was unable to go all the way down but due to I had my mom - we did go half way. Make moments so you can remember later.
