The 15 Best Restaurants near Tuscaloosa and the University of Alabama | Eater

"Located in the Alamite hotel, co-owned by head football coach Nick Saban, Forte gives Tuscaloosa a taste of France. Executive chef Jacob Stull’s menu combines flavors from a brasserie and a steakhouse with high-end cocktails and a curated wine list. The menu includes seasonal must-haves, like beignets with pumpkin spice sauce, as well as carefully selected mains, like octopus a la Creole. Combined with a sleek interior, Forte is worthy of any national champion. If you can’t stop by for dinner, the restaurant offers a brunch menu that’s just as fancy." - Jen Bowman

Food was ok but took a long time to get there. Then the pasta was swimming. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here but if I am staying in hotel then I’ll come again.

Sophia was an absolute rockstar! Fantastic service and fantastic food. Best service I have received in my life. Staff was incredibly personable and attentive! I order the steak frites, the steak was a perfectly cooked medium rare. If you are in Tuscaloosa, look no further than Forte! I cannot wait to come back here.

The restaurant was nice and cute but we couldn’t hear our conversations over the loud band and we sat right in front of the patio door which was freezing every time someone would open and close the door. Our drinks took 30 min to get and our food took over an hour to get. The steak frites was chared and black and some of the pasta dishes were over cooked. I don’t know if I would go again and I saw the reviews were low so I should have known what to expect:(

In town Saturday for the football game and came in late. Wasn't sure we'd get our party of four in but it was great. Was seated outside and everything from the atmosphere, food and service was awesome! Special thanks to the hostess who got us seated! Will be back next time.

Staying here for the Thanksgiving holidays and decided to dine in. I highly recommend the pan-seared salmon with risotto and asparagus, I have been a lot of places with this similar menu and it was Amazing!! Risotto cooked to perfection and pan seared salmon was delicious and meaty!!

Decided to try something different. Tried the onion soup and some fries for appetizers. The entree was the duck and the lobster tail over rice. The duck was just ok and the potato cake was pretty much the same. The lobster was cooked just right but the bed of rice it was on was very undercooked. Top that with 2 adult drinks and a slice of cheese cake. I was out of about $160 gave the waiter $40 and we left and went to directly to Wendy's

I have been to the restaurant on multiple occasions. The experience has always been positive. I was very much blown away by the octopus. The chef cooked the octopus to perfection and reminded me of dishes I have had while living abroad. The dessert menu is also to die for. The souffle was amazingly rich and tasty! I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants a taste of being in Europe (without having to fly there).

Me and my fiancé traveled out of town to try this place for our anniversary and me and him were very disappointed with the food. The chicken parm was overly crispy and dark on the outside(which it was probably fried in old oil) and slightly pink on the inside(which made us feel like it didn’t hit 165 degrees before they served it). As well, the bolognese wasn’t anything special. The sauce wasn’t well distributed throughout, it was just resting at the bottom of the dish. We had the crème brûlée for dessert. Unfortunately, the crispy sugary topping was way too thick that you couldn’t eat it with the custard without breaking a tooth and the custard was way too sweet. The service was great. Shout out to Faith. She was very kind and charismatic. I gave the atmosphere a 4 star because the music didn’t match the decor or environment at all. Overall, it was way too expensive for the quality of food we got. We told ourselves that if we come back to Tuscaloosa we’re definitely going somewhere else.
