"It’s easy to miss Fortside’s tasting room, tucked into a small strip mall on Andresen Avenue, but locals flock here for reliably good brews like Orange Whip, a hazy IPA, and Couve A’licious, a dry-but-decadent brown ale. Brewer Paul Thurston took four trips to Goschie Farms in Silverton, Oregon for his Fresh Cut, a fresh-hopped hazy IPA, to get the right layered flavors of juicy grapefruit, lime, orange blossom, melon, and heady dankness. Eldy Prado recently opened his second El Viejon food truck outside of Fortside offering his own delicious take on Jalisco-style food like his mahi mahi fish taco and El Gobernador taco with shrimp, mozzarella cheese, and chipotle aioli encased in a crispy, grilled tortilla. El Viejon’s first truck still sits outside of Vice Beer." - Rachel Pinsky

Amazing find: Neighborhood brewery just crossing from Oregon to Washington side, with fresh beers and food truck (El Viejon) + super dog friendly. Quick tip - Surf n Turf Taco 🌮 Also, brand new 325kW Tesla Supercharger station just across the street.

Google
Impressive variety of beer styles on type . The queen of tarts wild sour was as good as any Belgium sours. The bourbon barrel brown ale had a very nice boozy taste but not over powered. Some beers are available to go, but unfortunately not the sour. Industrial warehouse vibe, friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating. Taco food cart next to them looked very good.

Google
This was our first time at Fortside Brewing. Great selection of beers and the bartender was awesome. The overall vibe was great. Also mentioning the food truck that served awesome tacos! I highly recommend their fish tacos! Everything we ordered went well with the beers we tasted! I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting great taps and tacos.

Google
Fortside is a great brewpub in Vancouver (WA), lots of tasty pours, comfortable seating inside or out in the heated patio. Thaddeus is knowledgeable & friendly, knows the beer and his customers. He let us taste a few till we got it right with the Couve A’licious brown ale for lunch. Outside is the El Viejon taco truck, served up quick & friendly by Evelin. Very generous tacos for $4.00. Try the al pastor with cilantro, red onion & pineapple.

Anita

Google
Beer was good, the taco truck was the worst it's ever been. Very greasy consume. They didn't put any cheese on the birria taco. 🤔😒 sad. The lady is a much better cook. Sorry guys.

Chris Scheller

Google
Great beer Great staff! Do yourself a favor and stop by for a cold one!

Dustin Dimicelli

Google
This was a nice brewery. Their beers were good and they also had a couple spiked slushees. The taco truck outside had some delicious seafood tacos.

Cynthia Saechao

Google
I'm not much of a beer drinker myself so I'm glad they had a couple slushee options! Visited for the first time today with my husband and we'd probably come back again. The food menu confused me a little bit because it said they had pork char siu banh mi but apparently it's a flavor you can choose for the nachos or burritos, not an actual banh mi (which is a Vietnamese baguette sandwich). Husband enjoys the beers and I think the blackberry sour slushee is great!

Yelp
Taco truck employees were kind, and honestly some of the best tacos I've ever had!!! The brewery...chill ambiance, I prefer low IBU as I don't like the pine tree taste of beers lol, the server was meh. Initially she had me sample a couple, I chose "say less" when I went back in for another she seemed uninterested and again for the 3rd, which is when I saw the rose and opted for that. She may have a crush on another patron as her attention the whole time as absolutely towards him..... I'll be back for sure, as it's close to my house and I genuinely like it but maybe a bit more enthusiastic bartender would be helpful, especially for us naive brewery drinkers

Travis W.

Yelp
We always drive by and never stopped (despite living their beer elsewhere), so we dropped in for lunch. The guy pouring was super friendly and knowledgeable, and there's a food truck parked out front with great tacos. A very nice and inviting space!

Robert F.

Yelp
Cool brewery, great beer and the taco truck is dishing out some fantastic queso. We were doing some brewery hoping around Vancouver and happened upon this place. The beer tender was knowledgeable and we ordered a flight of different styles to try. We also ordered chips and queso from the taco truck. The beers were good, the queso was great had a good little kick to it.. the chips were store bought but went well with the queso. Great space, seating inside and out and a steel tip dartboard.

Adrian C.

Yelp
I heard El Viejon food truck outside was one of the best in town. I had a birria burrito and was able to enjoy a nice bar area inside Fortside Brewing. Great selection of beverages in a clean and beautiful place. Thank you for providing a great environment for a single, older lady to enjoy lunch

Humam T.

Yelp
The brewery itself gets four starts because it's pretty cool with good beer. However, the food options gets 1 star. The food is weird. Weird is ok if it tastes good. We orders almost everything on the menu. The best choice was the pretzel. They have large parking lot with lots of spaces. I would go there to hang our and enjoy one of their beers, but I would not eat there even if I am starving... The bartender was very helpful and patient with us. Even the food guilty parties were helpful and nice, but please change the menu. We wanted to add tomatoes, but they did not have any...

Rose D.

Yelp
I'm upping them to 5-stars because they have consistently provided great, friendly service and a good variety of tasty beers for the past 4+ years since we moved to the area. The inside is nice, and they have a big covered patio next to the parking lot. Plus they have a taco cart there, so you can always get some delicious tacos or nachos to have with your beer (see separate review for Taco Spaceship). Cheers!

Paul B.

Yelp
Service!! IPA's that are great!! A food truck that is amazing!! Quiet enough inside to enjoy a meal!! Get here!!

J B.

Yelp
Great hazy friendly staff nice music cute rustic wood decor Clean Haven't tried the food but looks good

Jessica P.

Yelp
We recently moved to the Orchards area and we're a little saddened to leave our Portland breweries behind. We stumbled upon fortside while trying to find new regular spots in Vancouver and this is now our favorite by far! The taco truck is the perfect compliment to the space, serving tacos/nachos etc... probably my favorite nachos and I notice the proteins rotate. I think I had a Korean chicken nacho last time and finished the entire thing down to the last chip. The beer is great (I always opt for the blueberry sour and my partner gets the orange whip). The bartenders are friendly and super chill. They have a board where they keep track of beers that people buy for someone then next time they come in, so I'll have to take advantage of that and surprise my boyfriend when he pops in there after work one day. They have games and a comfortable low key ambiance that I appreciate

Sarah S.

Yelp
Fireside has incredible, unique beers, delicious fusion food and kind customer service! If you are into a chill vibe and good eats, stop by! Try the Rice Crispy Lager. YUM! The place is big and open. Great for group or a chill evening. Enjoy!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Unless you knew where to look, you could easily drive right by. Located in a parking lot (a ton of spaces to park!) across from the Winco. Super welcoming inside with a lot of places to sit. Drink where you can see where the beer is made. They also have a covered patio area out front (which is now much larger than it was a few years ago!) where they allow dogs. You can sit right next to the Taco Spaceship food truck. Service is from the bar but it was super easy to look at the beer board and order. Bartender was super helpful and explained several beers to us.

Constance P.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for awhile and it was everything I hoped and more. There was a recent post on Instagram with a lager and I finally got around to going. Amazing!! The lager was spectacular and the food from @Tacosfromspace is out of this word. I would go back everyday if I could. A wonderful ambiance. Great music and there are books about Clark County and I really loved the experience. Super amazing. The service was perfect and I will go back.

Mindy H.

Yelp
Very welcoming brewery with awesome staff and great selection of tasty beers. Food cart is excellent. Love having this spot close to home and visit them at least once a week. A gem of the neighborhood and of Vancouver. I visit them for date night, a treat with my kid, and sometimes on a date with my pooch. I love Fortside.

Mandy N.

Yelp
Decent lagers, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service is fast. Some snacks offered no main menu.

Ben C.

Yelp
After encountering Orange Whip & Rose Gone Wild at Chuck's Hop Shop in Seattle, it was a must to drive to Fortside Brewery. Not in a neighborhood area, but the down right neighborly service is there. Very welcoming and friendly. It is obvious these guys love what they do ~ sociable conversation sharing their brew thoughts and creative risks made the tasting experience so much more enjoyable. Savored all that was tasted and here are a few of the personal favs ~ Orange Whip, Rose Gone Wild, Sunshine Dreamin', Couve A'licious.

Kourtney E.

Yelp
Really cool spot with good service. If you like good craft beer, it's a must try in this area.

Katie A.

Yelp
Wow! Loved this place. After getting tattooed for almost four hours, I was craving a beer and some nachos. This was the spot to go to. Great beer and yummy food. Can't complain. I liked the outdoor seating option and felt welcomed. It did get pretty busy by our third round of beers on a Saturday afternoon but beats waiting over an hour in line to eat/drink at the McMenamins down the road. Next time I'm in Vancouver, I'll be sure to stop by again.

Steve S.

Yelp
Nice selection of beers, food came out promptly. Friendly staff. Would come back again

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Nice brewery! It's located in a typical brewery spot, a storage area. The inside in comfortable and they had a few TVs and a food truck out front. The beers here were good. I had a pink lemonade beer which was a sour but it wasn't too sour and definitely tasted like pink lemonade. I would definitely recommend this brewery for some good beers.

Kim K.

Yelp
OMG!!! My first Jackfruit taco!!! Soooo delicious!!! Incredible!! And the beer is awesome!! But these Jackfruit tacos... come on!!! Crazy delicious!!!

Andrea S.

Yelp
Great Kanaka Saison named for some fascinating local history. Also the street tacos were fresh and warm with perfect tortillas.

David G.

Yelp
Enjoying an Orange Whip given to me today by a friend. I like it! Will have to experience more Fortside brewskis.

June G.

Yelp
The bartender was so rude to us that I regret spending money here. My mom, partner, and I ordered food and drinks and he acted like we were a disgusting inconvenience. Maybe he was having a bad day but it was unacceptable. I'd have more to say about the food and drinks but the experience was completely soured by the way we were treated. The outdoor seating was a nice option so we didn't have to sit inside and feel uncomfortable. We will never go back.

Joshua E.

Yelp
So, came here because we heard good things. Beer and food was decent, however the bartender/dude who rang up the food was everything but enjoyable. We were met with immediate attitude and we were made to feel like our time was not worth it for him. Not sure if the homie was in just a pissy mood because of personal problems or what. But it was not a good experience. He was just an ass.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Love this local brewery! Great service and brewskiis , always a good selection on beer. The interior sliding door occasionally opens up to the outdoors which is awesome on a sunny day. Casual atmosphere. Be sure to come on Wednesday too for Wing Wednesdays ! Bomb food supplied by food truck Stanwich that's parked right outside ;)

Brock M.

Yelp
Incredible beer. Wonderful service. Cozy location. Discovered this gem while visiting my folks in Vancouver. I can't wait to go back.

Demitri R.

Yelp
Come for the Beer and stay for Taco spaceship on the weekends. The beers are top notch. Kanaka and Suede suit are my favorite. When it comes to tacos Snag anyone that you desire. Also El pastor and Jerk chicken really shine. Grab a seat and make a friend and play a board game. They are off the beaten path but only 12 mins away from downtown Vancouver. Now boarding a flight of beers. Destination= Your mouth.

Paul C.

Yelp
Teaching for the week in Portland and found this place close to my Air Bnb. A true brewery, nuttin' but beer (that's how I like 'em). If your hungry I saw a food truck in the parking lot. Good selection of beers, but a description of each would help an amateur like me. I like a good view of the workings of the brewing process and they provided a great one. They have great ambiance (rustic, airy) and I really enjoyed the Couve A 'Licious Brown Ale.

Julia D.

Yelp
Good beers, cool space with decor of dark wood and metal, and nice guy working. What else to say? A solid choice for a hangout sesh.

Alden C.

Yelp
A very nice brewery located in Vancouver, WA! Steve and I were on a brewery marathon and had a lot of fun! Since this was a marathon we had to regulate our drinking so we didn't get a bunch of different types of beer at any one brewery. On this trip probably the best porter I had was the one here. I had the Twice Baked Porter which was delicious and very warming for the cold, winter day that was going on outside. Staff was friendly and in great form! I would love to make a return trip!

Minh T.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try out some breweries in the area and since the lady and I leave nearby, we decided to try it out. I researched some of their beers before stopping by cause I was excited to check out the spot. The place is pretty chill. Service wasn't bad. Beer was tasty. I ordered the Kanaka ale since I'm a fan of the style. It's a Belgian/French according to their website. Nice and smooth with the right amount of hops. Just how I like it. The lady copied me and got the same thing after sampling one she did not like. We were kind of hungry and conveniently, there was a food truck outside (I reviewed it in a separate posting haha). Overall a solid, nice and nearby location to frequent in the future. They're dog friendly too! Kudos.

Megan N.

Yelp
I think they have a pretty good beer selection... just wish they had one or two ciders or maybe a wine offered as well. They don't technically sell food I guess... but they do have a taco truck outside that's pretty good! I like that they allow dogs and have some outdoor seating. Have never had bad service here...

Michael S.

Yelp
Couve A'Licious It's a lifestyle. It's an escape. It's a beer. Find all three at Fortside Brewing Co in The Couve. The Tap Room just opened to the public 3 days a week: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 4:00 - 10:00 pm all 3 nights. Other days, it's only open for private events. Olivia Z. and me joined a small group of local brew lovers for such a small event. It was Couve A'Licious. Couve A'licious is Fortside Brewing's American Brown Ale splashing a smooth 5.2% ABV and 20 IBU. If you're in Vancouver and not sure which beer to get, get a Couve A'Licious and embrace the Couve lifestyle. Zythological Pale Ale was an American Pale Ale from Fortside Brewing Company that was still relatively tame at 5.4% ABV and 39 IBU. It may not reach mythological levels, but it does reach zythological ones. I also tried pints from two other breweries. The first was a Wild Ride Brew Hopperhead IPA (6.7% ABV) and the other was an Upright Red Wing Lager (5.8%). They were good counterparts to the Fortside brews. Another cool local drink discovery at Fortside Brewing was their homemade Fortside Root Beer. If you like root beer, be sure to try this because it is definitely not that can stuff we are used to drinking. Fortside Brewing Company may be new, but it is another strong addition to the Vancouver, Washington microbrew scene. In fact, it's totally Couve A'Licious.

M H.

Yelp
What a gem in our backyard (figuratively speaking). They make one of the best stouts (well, actually two of the best stouts) and the taco truck is from out of this world (you'll get the joke when you get there). Great service every time I've been there. Don't be fooled by the location- these people mean buisness (good beer and good tacos)!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Good beer selection. Can always find an IPA I like. The taco spaceship is really great and so unique. Rotating tacos-today its pork bahn mi-fantastic. Love the verde sauce and the fact they have always have veggie options. Good service-yeah you are in a parking lot but it's chill.

David L.

Yelp
Researched this place and was thankfully able to stop by for a couple brews. The tap room is in the typical industrial area with a shopping center across the street if you want food. A very well-laid out room with a small outside area (two tables) fronts the brewing area in back. Service was friendly and the whole place screamed "sit back and relax". The Fortside IPA was very good, lighter than most and not as hoppy. Very drinkable outside in the warm sun with my book. But that was the warm-up for the Beast, the reason I wanted to stop by. For being a triple-IPA, I was ready for lots of kick and while the high alcohol content was potent, it was extremely drinkable and enjoyable. Too many places pride themselves on power and sacrifice enjoyment. But on this warm summer day, Fortside hit all the right notes. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area and I plan to be back. Only downside was not being able to take any home on the plane.

Casey M.

Yelp
Here's the frickin deal with Fortside..... I've been fighting myself because I love the beer here but every time I go in, it's just me and a few other fortunate souls lucky enough to be in the presence of superior beer. I owe these folks a review so it's pretty damn simple... Head to Fortside and get some beer. Growler or crowler you can't go wrong. Oh you don't know what a Crowler is, get your ass to Fortside and find out. All that aside, the beer is well thought out, and they don't brew you shit you're tired of. I'll tell ya this, enjoy a Flanders and follow it with a straight out of Yakima and you'll fall in love forever. Enjoy the low key atmosphere and hopefully someone brings in a cute dog while you are there. Also F Ed. F there is one person behind the bar... make yourself known. It's not that hard. Enjoy Fortside I'm sad to write this but the fine folks at Fortside deserve it. With a booming beer community in Da Couv. I'd put Fortside up against Loowit and Ghost Runner.

Debbie T.

Yelp
This is a great place Covid or not. Lots of outdoor seating in both sun and shade, some covered, plus large open overhead door to inside seating. Always a lot of beer styles, many of them quite good. And the Taco Spaceship is a must even if you skip the beer. Food is always super fresh and amazing. Often creative takes and always meat and veggie options. Some of the best tacos around.

Rachel Y.

Yelp
Should have come here before now this place is awesome. Great beer. Vancouvalicious brown ale is perfect on this fall evening. Check out Taco Spaceship too! Num!

Zakk H.

Yelp
I've been coming to this spot every once in a while since they've been open. I always want to try something new but always find myself drinking on their IPA or their Couve A'licious Brown Ale because those beers always hit the spot. The atmosphere is nice and its dog friendly so it's pretty cool to drink and pet other people's dogs. Overall, the beer is great, the food trucks are great and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommend.

Brandi K.

Yelp
I like this place. I like their beer. I like that food trucks hang out in front of the building and that they have big doors that open with outdoor seating. Most of the staff is great. I really like when Julianna is working. She really livens up the place. Gets people talking. Knows your order and has it ready for you as you walk through the door. Now that's service! The other girl? Meh. The beer here is great as is the atmosphere. I think this place would soar if they had their own kitchen. Hopefully that's been in the suggestion box and something they plan to work on in the future. Food trucks are cool, but I like going to a bar knowing I can order my food and beer all on one tab. I'll continue to come here kitchen or no kitchen.

Katherine V.

Yelp
Who knew this awesome brewing co. was hanging out in Vancouver next to a trampoline park? I was oblivious under yesterday when I met coworkers here for an afternoon drink. I hesitated at first, because I don't like beer. (Go ahead, judge away). But...they had a cider on tap! Yay! And not just any cider, Finnriver's pear cider, which is delicious. $4 for an 8 oz pour...I'll take it. On Thursdays they also have The Nomad come in and sell delicious hot dogs. I opted for one of these as well. Meat from a local butcher and buns from a local bakery...perfect! Also, featured toppings that sometimes sound strange but seem to work well. This afternoon's topping was a pickled ginger, wasabi, seaweed, something something (didn't quite catch it all...but it was good!). Bonus points because the guy cooking these suckers up was super friendly. Know that they accept cards but there's a $0.50 charge. Anyways, Fortside was the perfect spot to be on a warm summer afternoon. Try it out!

Rachel W.

Yelp
Yum Yum Yum! The beer here is always spot on, and my Portland friends are always suspicious that something so good could be from "The Couve." But yes, folks, that's right. The Couve makes great beer and Fortside is leading the charge. They have crowlers too...what's not to like?!

Juan M.

Yelp
Great beer and great decor. Cool place to chill and the staff is awesome. If you have kids like me, they're kid friendly. No food in house. They do food carts but call to see if they have anything that day otherwise bring your own food.

Rick I.

Yelp
Stop in here at FORTSIDE BREWING to a full house. No food but awesome beers. You do have the option to bring your own food..

Ellis B.

Yelp
Great spot I like the business savvy of the owners instead of spending 50k on a kitchen they got a food truck unfortunately when I was there it was closed but still very smart, also it's a industrial space which means they get the room they need to make beer as well as a tasting room dirt at about 8.00 sqft. versus 25.00, the beers are good and worth your time

S B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. They had an outdoor seating set up with a guest restaurant (Farm To Fire Pizza). Love the homemade Root Beer.

Don B.

Yelp
Well the beer is pretty good and we would have stayed for at least 1 more. But we didn't know this was a nursery school too. After 8PM and 3 uncontrolled kids running around and screaming. This is a brewery? Such a turn off.

Bobby M.

Yelp
Beer is top notch. And their salted carmel popcorn is killer. If you want a dinner you can find it close by.
