Yelp
Well...situated between the light-Head (donation) and the BK that's been here forever sits a small and semi-secluded Asian / Chinese diner. I do not say restaurant because it would appear the sporadic customer-base limits staff.
The lack of music and long walk give : a crowded line an opportunity to glance at Art and menu items...
slight rush to order.
World piece this (together) with the $1.95 Jumbo drink price & assume there are occasional rushes.
I was 2nd in around 4:53ish...orders 2 sides & 1 ready by 5:03.
Probably small staff a reason behind clutter (vacuum in plain view, unstocked drinks, hastily wiped counter tops and fragments along carpet - straw wraps, etc.,etc)
BUT !!!!
The cook's ability (with butter) for their fried rice (beef-main) is to be appreciated; as I am also a Fan for Manteca (Spanish for butter)...distinct flavor.
I ordered the Vegetable Fried Rice & it's grocery store style : the portions are not the tiny-1/64th bits but more Tex-OK homestyle (large & what a Vegan seeks)
A searing pan and separate cook of (the) vegetables would likely draw out zest and more flavor : let's be honest...vegetables are a delicacy (can my carnivore side been noticed, yet? Heh)
Broccoli is 8/10 on flavor, onion & cucumber need separate pan (!)
Again the vegetables with a separate cook would significantly improve the fried rice texture due to the higher water-content.
I had also received (my) 2nd plate after a small 3-plate order, so a slight rush in preparation, the browning (of rice) for initial plater much better.
35w (Watt bulbs) for the ceiling would likely bring more appeal - with overhead fans because a light aura or encircle of (fan) areas would make for a more evening-environment.
Napkins a bit on short-order and I went trough 2 for an overfilled & lightly flooded drink lid...
Tables and booths are atleast in good condition.
I will leave review at 4/5; but this is a single order, 5 P.M. on Tues order.
