Fresh, hot and very authentic dishes. Sometimes I find it hard to get egg fu young at other restaurants. This place has it and I had the chicken egg fu young. It was a huge portion of this favorite and delicious !

For as long as i can remember, my family has eaten here. Even 20 years later the food is good and filling. And the servings are always impressive. The whole restaurant is clean, ignoring how boring the decor tends to be.

Google
I drive from Shallowater fairly often just to pick up their food, one of the few that offers a combo plate. Always hot and fresh and delicious. Large portions.

Google
Orange chicken and seasame chicken, both, hot and tasty, egg drop soup, had nice flavor. Had take away. Resteraunt is ok, but definitely better food than atmosphere. I've been here about 4 times this year, will go back!

I haven't stopped by here in years- I am so glad that I did. Great egg drop soup and I love these pork wontons. Gret portions for this price!

Google
Hands down by far the best fried right in Lubbock, you can’t tell me otherwise. The people there are always so friendly. I have never sat down to eat there, but the restaurant always looks clean. Food is always super hot and comes out really quick. 10 out of 10.

Yelp
Well...situated between the light-Head (donation) and the BK that's been here forever sits a small and semi-secluded Asian / Chinese diner. I do not say restaurant because it would appear the sporadic customer-base limits staff. The lack of music and long walk give : a crowded line an opportunity to glance at Art and menu items... slight rush to order. World piece this (together) with the $1.95 Jumbo drink price & assume there are occasional rushes. I was 2nd in around 4:53ish...orders 2 sides & 1 ready by 5:03. Probably small staff a reason behind clutter (vacuum in plain view, unstocked drinks, hastily wiped counter tops and fragments along carpet - straw wraps, etc.,etc) BUT !!!! The cook's ability (with butter) for their fried rice (beef-main) is to be appreciated; as I am also a Fan for Manteca (Spanish for butter)...distinct flavor. I ordered the Vegetable Fried Rice & it's grocery store style : the portions are not the tiny-1/64th bits but more Tex-OK homestyle (large & what a Vegan seeks) A searing pan and separate cook of (the) vegetables would likely draw out zest and more flavor : let's be honest...vegetables are a delicacy (can my carnivore side been noticed, yet? Heh) Broccoli is 8/10 on flavor, onion & cucumber need separate pan (!) Again the vegetables with a separate cook would significantly improve the fried rice texture due to the higher water-content. I had also received (my) 2nd plate after a small 3-plate order, so a slight rush in preparation, the browning (of rice) for initial plater much better. 35w (Watt bulbs) for the ceiling would likely bring more appeal - with overhead fans because a light aura or encircle of (fan) areas would make for a more evening-environment. Napkins a bit on short-order and I went trough 2 for an overfilled & lightly flooded drink lid... Tables and booths are atleast in good condition. I will leave review at 4/5; but this is a single order, 5 P.M. on Tues order.

Do not eat here I got terrible food poisoning Thursday and I'm still recovering today.

Yelp
Ordered online and food was promised in 35 min, but was ready a little early. I arrived around 20 mins after ordering and witnessed the order being assembled for the next few minutes. So the only negative I have is the egg rolls tasted old especially the meat in them. I thought the medium (quart) of Hot and Sour soup was excellent the wife thought it had too much black pepper. My food was devoured before the camera could capture it. I had a 3 entree combo w fried fish, sweet & sour pork, and Almond chicken. The fried fish was good but there is better around Lubbock, the pork was good. The Almond chicken was different than I have had at other places but was good. My wife had happy family she states it was "alright" the bite I stole was good but she mostly didn't care for the abundance of celery. I guess I should of let her order her own or at least I should of read the description. My son will have the general Taos chicken when he gets home. The bite I swiped was good. All portions were sized for a hungry person, with enough for leftovers (except my own.) This is my second visit to this neighborhood family owned restaurant. I will be adding them to my rotation.

Yelp
If I could give this please, zero stars I would. I ordered food last night. All of the chicken was burned and hard to chew the grease tasted old and in less than an hour we were all sick . Terrible stomach pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea!! Threw all left overs away !!!

Matt B.

Yelp
Sweet and sour chicken, and fried wontons we're both burnt. They must have left them in the fryer too long. I really liked how easy it was to order online, but the food was not up to par. I wanted to like this place but the dry fried food takes me down to 2 stars.

Kaleb R.

Yelp
a cockroach crawled on my hand when ordering, i couldnt get an 2 entree plate for some reason.

Yelp
It's ok. Need new carpet and clean their chairs. I've had better.I'll keep looking till I'm satisfied.

Rebekkah P.

Yelp
I have no idea how anyone could not love this food. They accommodate my needs when ordering and they make it fresh. I think this is the best Chinese food in Lubbock and I've been to Asia!

Yelp
I ordered the pork fried rice, and it was amazing. I have looked for great pork fried rice for over ten years, and it wasn't until we ate at Fortune Cookie Chinese Restaurant, that i found a Pork Fried Rice that was to die for. We are now regulars and look forward to many great meals! Outstanding staff as well!

Yelp
New owners....place was filthy, food was HORRIBLE!! Ordered Sesame Chicken...my broccoli was ice cold...told them about it. Got some lame excuse... Will NOT go back....
google avatar

Yelp
First and last time trying. Awful. No seasoning on anything. Fried dumplings fried to a crisp with straight soy sauce for dipping. Happy family had three rubbery shrimp. Chicken tasted boiled. Frozen egg rolls and plain white rice the best part...only soy sauce included. To top it off not a single fortune cookie.

Yelp
Our favorite Chinese place in Lubbock! Everything we've had has been great, online ordering is easy, food is ready quickly. Currently I think the dining room is still closed for COVID, and they are still requiring masks, which is great to us! I love their wontons, probably a little too much. I ordered veggie fried rice today and the container was packed so full I'll probably get 4 meals from it!

Emma Z.

Yelp
I ordered the shrimp lo mein, which is huge and the price is very cheap! Very good !

Yelp
This is authentic Chinese food. Perfect. The rice was cooked perfectly, and I don't know why it's yellow, but if you want typical American Chinese go to PF Chang's. The potstickers are the best I've had since being in China. The egg roll was delicious. It's curry egg roll, which isn't as popular as other egg rolls, but I loved it. The jalapeño chicken was very flavorful, cooked perfectly, and the orange chicken is the best I've had in Lubbock. I also had a side of hot & sour soup. Very good, but would like it a bit more spicy, but that's my preference. This is a locally owned & Chinese family owned restaurant doing good things- go support it.

Yelp
First off the lady who works the front is so incredibly rude it's enough to not have you wanting to go back. Secondly the food is really not good. The fried rice is bland and strange yellow/orange in color. The sweet and sour chicken was okay some pieces of chicken were really good and others were dry and over cooked. The sauce that went with it was watered down and also bland. Overall it was a pretty unpleasant experience.

Barbara M.

Yelp
We use the takeout service and have for the last year. Prior, we would use the dine in and takeout service's. We usually order online and it's always ready when we get there. Everything is always greatl. They are always very happy to see us as well. This is the best place in Lubbock for Chinese food and great service.

Wayne C.

Yelp
We ordered cashew chicken which did not have the normal brown sauce on it. We also ordered orange chicken and it was flavorless. We also ordered white rice for both orders and got fried rice for each. One of the cooks had hair hanging down in his face and he kept pushing it back with his hand. Until they get their act together, we will not be going back. We are from the Houston area and expected better.

Yelp
Worse Chinese food I ever tried to eat. Hot and sour soup had no taste. The fried rice was mostly scrambled eggs and nothing else in it just terrible to look at. The pineapple chicken was partly to hard to eat and was not pineapple chicken it was sweet and sour chicken without the sweet and sour sauce. Spent $50 and it all went in the trash

Yelp
This restaurant used to fare about 3 stars (although my husband would rate it higher). Made the mistake of eating in the restaurant vs. picking up a to-go order and this was a mistake. The restaurant was filthy. Floors had food and wrappers all over. Tables were not wiped down. (We had to skip 4 tables before we found an acceptable one to eat at). The soy sauce containers were grimy. Only 1 dispenser had napkins. I didn't finish my food nor did my husband. I won't eat here again.

Yelp
Good Chinese takeout! It's always fresh with big portions. This place is family ran and it shows. Lots of unique things on the menu as well.

Yelp
So I went to this restaurant after a decent amount of time not going there. I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce and I got soup with shrimp the Pork fried rice was not fried rice it would steam rice through in with food coloring. I tried to call to fix the order nobody there speaks English or broken English. Do not recommend this restaurant but if you have to go make sure you check your order before leaving.

Jacob T.

Yelp
If you are even considering going to this place then please change your mind. You would be better off going next door to Green Gorilla and eating Juul pods for dinner. Even if you have already ordered and sit down, I highly recommend taking your losses and go home before consuming this shit. I ordered the spicy chicken and it destroyed my insides. The rice was dry and flavorless. Random pieces of chicken were ice cold and I had to drown everything in soy sauce in order to force it down my gullet before my gag reflex kicked in. The egg rolls were filled with green goo and dripped with grease. The people were nice so I guess that's a plus. Have a good day:)

Yelp
Quiet atmosphere, simple straight forward menu. Food is average tasting and fresh. When drivinf, enter and exit from the East side not the South Loop side. Other driver are hungry to provide something to do for your insurance people...and maybe the local hospitals.

Yelp
Fresh cooked Chinese food, one of the few in Lubbock. Good staff, good food. Authentic cook staff.

Yelp
Just not awesome food. Friendly enough, but the chicken was tough and the fried rice was bland. Not terrible, just not special.

Yelp
Disappointed. My husband and I went there Friday night. It was after 7:00, the dinner rush over. We both ordered to Beijing beef. It was like no Beijing beef like I'd ever had. It was covered in a slimy textured sauce that was completely off-putting. The rice was good, and the egg roll was excellent. The area we sat in was filled with dirty tables and smelled like someone had left a dirty diaper nearby. We were there at least 45 minutes, and no one cleaned off the table despite how slow business was.

London A.

Yelp
This food was terrible! I spent $30 on food I had to throw away. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The chicken has a terrible taste and it was served over a huge bed of wonton chips. So you get less meat than you actually pay for. Which in this case was okay because it was nasty. The fried rice was flavorless and the egg role...don't even get me started. We also ordered fried dumplings and I almost threw up. Not to mention when I called the lady said it was too far of a delivery because they are too busy, when I only live 15 blocks away. She then tried to make me pay cash and I refused. Overall I wish I could give a 0 rating and stop EVERYONE from wasting their money.

Yelp
This place is awesome for Chinese Food. Their food is tasty and not all sweet like the other places. You can tell that it's fresh because the vegetables are not dark and old like they've been sitting for a while. The Shrimp and Walnuts is delicious!

Sharie D.

Yelp
The worst food ever! Our normal place is closed on Mondays so we were going to try something new! NEVER AGAIN!
google avatar

Nelson L.

Yelp
It was decent. Spring roll was good, beef broccoli was fine (broccoli slightly crisp, beef tender), lo mein was decent (noodles cooked just right), and chicken fried rice was tasty. I guess it matters what you order here. Worth stopping by if in the area.

Yelp
I've searched long and far for a good quality egg drop soup and finally found it at Fortune Cookie. I've ordered in and taken out but have always had quality service and delicious food. Though I can't boast to trying every item on the menu, I love their dumplings, sesame chicken, lemon chicken, wontons, and of course egg drop soup. Thank goodness I was introduced to them and don't have to settle on mediocre chain restaurants for my Chinese food.
google avatar

Matt W.

Yelp
Food is descent for a local Chinese food place. Better than the nation chain food. Chicken lettuce wraps were better than Pei Wei and cheaper. Rice was ok and egg roll had a curry taste but was ok as well. I would go back if I want fast causal Chinese food.

Yelp
WORST CHINESE FOOD EVER!! I ordered sweet and sour chicken - all I got was chicken strips.. Co worker order the Sesame chicken and she got sick. Plus they over charge for their food. My total based on their website was under $9. Yet it was $12 when I got it. Their egg drop soup is more like a thick disgusting substance in a cup. NOTHING WAS GOOD ABOUT THIS PLACE.

Chrystal H.

Yelp
I totally enjoy take home from Fortune Cookie. My husband likes the Vegetable Fried Rice and Spring Rolls. I like the Sweet and Sour Pork and Chicken Chow Mein. The family is so friendly, and they all pitch in to get things done. This is family at its best.

Brandi R.

Yelp
I have been coming here for many many years and have never had one problem. The food is wonderful and the staff is always very friendly. I do miss the old owners but the new ones are great. Food is a 5 service is a 5!!!

Yelp
Best Chinese food in town for a great price

Yelp
This is literally the worst chinese food I have ever had. We stopped because it was close by and now we both dearly regret it. I got the chicken and broccoli meal and he got some kind of sweet chicken along with a chicken fried rice to share. His meal had literally 4 small pieces of chicken and the rest was little chip things with sauce on them, it came with an egg roll which tasted like it had been sitting for a week. My chicken and broccoli was 90% broccoli and the chicken wasn't even done. The chicken fried rice was more like "half cooked chicken, boiled rice, and chicken flavoring". Everything about this food was just disgusting. We have both already been sick. Do not EVER order from here!!!

Will H.

Yelp
Once was a great restaurant. Not any more. Portion sizes are now smaller and they charge for drink refills that you must refill yourself.
