This is not really a buffet. They have few hours they have buffet. The food wasn’t really good. I order fried rice it was so salty. Like they poured salt on it. Only the egg role and meat in the fried rice was good ! I added the menu. I won’t be going back there! Everything was more than $15. Would have had chipotle for less! Good luck

I worked all day and just wanted to come home and eat anyways that didn't happen.. i ordered 12 wantons they came with no cream cheese in them, I ordered 3 two pack eggs rolls and only got 3 total they charged me for 3 packs, they strongly batter everything and nothing is even in the inside can't even taste the chicken, egg rolls, pot thingys or wantons.. The pepper steak combo might as well have been just green peppers and onoins. Not at all what I expected for the money I spent.

Their general tso chicken is sooo yummy! And I love their noodles! Best in town if you ask me! The owners are so nice and went above and beyond to make sure the food was to my liking. I highly recommend going to fortune house for the lunch buffet!

My recent experience at this was unfortunately disappointing. While my first visit was positive, my recent takeout order of the number 10 (that included the sweet and sour chicken) was missing the essential sweet and sour sauce. This omission significantly impacted the quality of the dish, as the chicken and wontons were dry and unappetizing without it. Furthermore, I was nearly charged for a full order of wontons that I had not requested. I had specifically asked for a substitution of a pork egg roll for a cream cheese wonton. It was only due to careful attention to the cashier's entries that I noticed the additional $10 error she almost charged me. I am disappointed that my dinner was ruined due to these issues. I believe that accurate order fulfillment and attention to detail are crucial for a positive customer experience. Food is okay, but pay close attention to what is in the bag, if you order take out and also what they're charging you as they're NOT cheap! 👎🏾

Google
I’m really sad to say that it was the worse buffet I’ve ever had. Very limited selection and all were either deep fried or the color brown. The cream cheese in the wontons was the size of a nickel. Maybe it’s just my preference, but the chow mein was made with spaghetti noodles. Overall, the quality and selection is extremely lacking for a buffet that costs $16.99.

Google
Our go to Chinese place. Consistently good. Nice selection on buffet. Fair price too!

Google
We had the buffet there this last weekend not sure maybe end of buffet or if that’s just how it is every time but we did not really enjoy the selection or quality. It was an all you can you buffet but it’s very few choices to choose from. Rice and noodles were a no go for me only thing I really did like were the pork rolls they were very good! It was around $60-$65 for the three of us was not happy with buffet and things would need to improve for me to go back.

Google
We ordered off the menu because we got there later and they were taking the buffet down due to it not being busy. HUGE portions, fresh and flavorful food, friendly and prompt service, a really great experience all around! The fried dumplings were the best i’ve ever had. Also had the orange beef, kung pow chicken, and fried rice. You know how nice it is to get fried rice that’s actually made fresh and not the same old stuff with frozen mixed vegetables? SO GOOD!! With an appetizer, a house plate, a chicken entree, a fried rice entree, a pop, and a (good) tip, our total was $85 and we have enough for at least two or three more meals for two people. Definitely our new spot for Chinese food!

Yelp
The food is amazing. They also have an all you can eat buffet. The service is great. Also, a very nice and quiet ambiance. Eat in, or take out, I love this place.

Yelp
Best sweet and sour sauce The egg rolls are #1. Love the fried rice and of course the main dishes

Yelp
Interesting vibe per phone. Crossing my fingers - will let u know what we think of the food and what the in person impressions are ... stay close

Yelp
I ordered takeout- just chicken with vegetables. I asked if they could make it with white sauce instead of brown- they said they could. When I later opened the bag, I found it was not only brown sauce after all- but it also had those little globs of MSG or whatever in it. The vegetables were severely overlooked, and it just didn't taste right. Not even edible. And the best part- they gave me no utensils or napkins or anything. I would've thought that several months into the 'takeout only' era that restaurants would have this down to a science... I recommend looking elsewhere for Chinese in Fargo-Moorhead.

Yelp
Haha, these reviews crack me up. Yeah, occasionally the service leaves a bit to be desired. The owner, I believe, can be a little blunt, but everyone else is super nice! They make the best Mongolian beef (and have a nice not too vinegar-y sweet and sour sauce) and we loyal customers keep coming back.

Yelp
Got yelled at by a stout helmet haired lady when we looked at the menu because we were undecided about the buffet. She, with a combination eye roll and look of anger and utter disdain exclaimed (direct quote here) "WHY YOU NO WANT BUFFET!?!". This was clearly not a question, but an accusation on her part. We sat in disbelief for a minute and decided that we were now too uncomfortable to eat there. We paid for our drinks and left. Not sure what her problem was. The lady that seated us was very nice.

Yelp
The service is not very friendly at all. Borderline rude, kind of felt we were bothering them. We arrived at 6:45 pm on a Friday and the buffet was pretty sad. Nearly empty trays of what did not look very appealing. Had a sample of a few of the trays and that was enough. $28 for the two of us. 2 stars only because the place was clean and warm and the Coke was good. Was quiet too, we were the only patrons ( not surprising).

Yelp
Food is reasonable for Chinese food in Fargo. Service is rather slow, they seem overwhelmed. Not open on Sunday.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Chinese food so I just knew I had to come to this place next to the fargodome. I was only customer here the whole time I was eating. The staff were nice. I was seated quickly and served quickly. The food was good. I got the shrimp lo mein and the shrimp was great. It was lacking some flavor but I always drown my Chinese food in soy sauce so I didn't really mind. If you're a big Chinese food critic you may not LOVE it but I would definitely come back again :)

Yelp
Limited food and worse service! However, the price of lunch is high when compare with other China restaurants!

Yelp
In the world of chinese in Fargo, this is among the best. Both of my visits were flavorful and well cooked. The price was fairly average for an entree. I haven't tried the buffet yet, but it appears to be modest in size, but well stocked and maintained.

Yelp
You would think that a Chinese buffet would have a decent selection. But sadly you would be mistaken if you come here. One line with a small and dry and tasteless selection. The service was horrid. As if I was bothering them. Though it did give me an authentic feel to the Chinese experience. I felt like a peasant feels in China. And I sympathize.

Yelp
This is the closest Chinese restaurant to me so I finally decided to try it out. The food is good but the selection is limited. You won't get the bigger variety that King House Buffet has. The small space of this restaurant can make it hard to maneuver when you're at the buffet. However, the fact that this place has good fried rice AND it has wonton soup (King House Buffet has only egg drop and hot & sour) makes this place worth eating at.

Yelp
Our family finally found time and closeness to trying out this buffet; the last one (we think?) to try in the F/M area for us. We're on the far south side so making it up much past main is a rarity. Overall the place is pretty nice clean; but it is small, very small. Unfortunately that affects the amount of buffet space they have, and therefore they had the most limited selection of any chinese buffet in the area. There is almost no cold buffet -- just diced pineapple, vanilla and chocolate pudding. Plus another two full length (side to side) vats, one with pretzel-tied flakey pastry and another with basically wonton shells without anything in them, dipped in honey with sesame seeds on (I will admit they were tasty). That left a total of about only 12 half-sized vats for all the hot food, about 1/2 to 1/3rd the selection of elsewhere, two of which were rice. This was disappointing; we never realized it was so limited. Everything tasted okay, but the few items with sauces were way too boiled down, leaving a sticky, clumpy gelatinous coating on everything rather than a smooth but not runny flavorful sauce which took away from the core item. What was there was flavorful enough, but just not enough selection on the hot and lack of cold options means we probably not be making a trip up there again. Lunch on a Saturday was $10 PP after tax + $6.30 after tax for a child; the same price as King House down town that has about twice the hot selections and a fair amount of cold selection. Therefore I need to only give it a 2 star mostly due to selection, vs. the 3 star for quality/appearance.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst Chinese restaurant that I have ever eaten at. First of all, we were brought a tea pot that had lukewarm tea and only 3 small cups left in it (obviously this teapot had been at another table before ours. When our tea had run our, we had to ask several times for more before we were accommodated My son had the buffet. When we filled his bowl full of Won Ton Soup, the noodles were mush, and there was hardly any broth in the soup pot. I ordered the Broccoli with Garlic Sauce. The garlic sauce was red and thick, similar to the taste of sweet and sour sauce. There was no garlic flavor whatsoever. I ate 2 bites and told the waitress it was not garlic sauce. She did nothing to remedy the situation. She also gave me the feeling that we were burdening her with our requests. We will never eat at this restaurant again.

Yelp
Best generals chicken in town, always order from these guys! Great service and there always seems to be a little extra in the take-home bag.

Yelp
I wish I could give zero stars. I was recommended this place by a co-worker; he'll hear from me in the morning! There are 6 meat dishes, one bowl of plain white rice, one bowl of white rice with soy sauce called fried rice, one bowl of decently seasoned lo mein, and 4 bowls of snacks (cookies and fruit). The selection was terrible. Bland chicken drenched in store bought sweet and sour sauce, along with sadly cooked steak and peppers. After sampling everything on the buffet line, we angrily paid $21 for 2 dinner buffets and left hungry. We ended up going someone else to eat. Save your money, time, and gas. Fortune House should be renamed Misfortune House.

Yelp
Pretty good food. We come in and get the buffet to go. I have ordered the chicken fried rice a few times and that is really good. Not a huge fan of their wontons or egg rolls though. Definitely a nice Northside convenience!

Catherine M.

Yelp
Excellent, well-prepared Chinese food can be enjoyed at Fortune House. Having dined at Chinese restaurants all over the United States, including in Los Angeles and New York, I can attest to the quality of the food available at this eatery. The buffet selection is not huge, but the offerings are pleasing to the palate and some to the waistline - quite a few dishes with meat (chicken, pork, and beef) and with veggies that taste fresh - not overcooked or overseasoned. Staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. Look forward to my next meal at Fortune House.

Yelp
Very best Chinese food in Fargo. Great menu with lots of choices. Has a really good noon buffet. The lunch crowd is always large. It's also a family owned restaurant , features classic quisine.

Yelp
Best of its kind in all of fargo. Always tasty Rice both fried white consistent every time excellent same with the low mien. While there are many other options for this segment slurp your soup lick your lips with best vegetables around. Always a good variety of chicken pork and beef I'm always happy to go there always looking forward to next visit there. Happy they were strong enough to survive the terrible construction on 19th ave just a testament to there strong food! That is after all why we go there food. I would encourage all to visit here. The city and mostly construction company should be thanking, honoring and advertising for these owners for the traffic they created on the worst planned construction project iv ever seen. They stayed productive in the Malay painted walls upgraded decor changed out small wares these owners should be in business and folks should reward them by being and becoming a loyal patron through this time and never being any of the complainers like some of their neighbors true American sprit with these folks I salute them by visiting them multiple times a week
