Not so many of these places left any more - a local second hand bookshop with a good selection of first editions, signed copies, and so forth. Some emphasis on local history works. Not a large shop - really just a front room and a back room - but plenty to keep one occupied for a good half hour or longer. Reasonable pricing.

Lovely little bookshop in the heart of Chiswick, a must visit when strolling at the weekend, especially if you're hoping to find a hidden treasure in its many literary corners. A treat!

Trading from an appropriate 18th.Century building that adds gravitas, a veneer of authenticity and authority. A quirky survivor of an almost extinct species; the suburban antiquarian book shop. Seemingly touching base with most genres with variety and scope seemingly only limited by space constraints. The emphasis expectedly on first editions, the recherché, obscure, limited editions and collectibles. Both committed Bibliophiles and the general reading public more than likely to ferret out something of interest here. Staff unobtrusive - knowledgeable, helpful and engaging when approached. Expertise, experience and enthusiasm the ethos here, in abundance.

Stumbled across this beautiful antique bookstore tucked away in Chiswick and will definitely be back. I feel like you could spend hours browsing through antique books. Such a unique collection of books from a wide variety of interests.

This book shop is truly a wonder to lose time in. Although it isn’t large it contains an incredible amount of material. I even found a book specific to my interests. The prices are very reasonable and the owner is very kind. I always look forward to the opportunity to return.

If any of you know that show 'Black Books', then this shop will be reminiscent of the one in the show. It is a lovely shop which reminds you of a simpler time. They have lots of books, antiquarian and rare books, fine bindings, children's illustrated and first editions, prints, postcards and ephemera. It feels crammed but I don't mind this when it comes to books because it adds character and uniqueness to the shop. You can also take any old books and exchange them, or even sell them. It's like adding to a library were the smells of moist paper and wood are enticing and overwhelmingly delicious. (No, is not food but it really is special) It also helps that this shop is one of the oldest in the high road, dates back to 1800s. Being what the books are can make them expensive, for instance a 1930s alphabet and image book in french can cost £48, but you can find cheaper books like Joan Miro's Sculptures for £17. Even if you don't want to buy anything the sense of history and longevity is palpable.

The best bookshop in the world. As i grew up in Chiswick i was taken here at a very young age. As i have grown so has my appreciation for this very special bookshop. Many classic, sometimes expensive books in here including many first editions of Ian Fleming. Stepping in here is like stepping back in time and i try to pop in every time i'm in Chiswick. I hope it's here when i have a son and i can take him round just the same way i was. Great childhood memory.

They had a sale on brand new Mr. Men books. I collect Mr. Men books, therefore, was able to score some UK only versions of the books for a pound each which is $1.58 Canadian. Normally in Vancouver these books new cost 7 pounds. The inside of the store is cramped, semi organized but not much room to browse. Mostly older titles. Fair prices and good customer service.

If you love books, you'll love this place! The gentleman at the counter was very polite and helpful in finding the book I was after. It is definitely worth a visit if you're in the London area.
