Fosters Freeze

It was a nice experience. The food didn't take long to make and everything was fresh. My daughter ordered chicken strips, which came with French fries. The chili cheese fries are "Everything"!!! For $50.00, we had 1 double cheees burger combo, chicken strip combo w milkshake, chili cheese fries, and a cheeseburger ( just to give you guys an idea)...

I've never had it in my life, got invited to try it, I looked at their posters, and tried their promo Cherry twister. It was a delicious soft serve ice cream. Employees were young but attentive with fast service. Overall a nice experience along with a fulfilling soft serve taste. Bombtastic !!!

Me and the family decided to stop here on our last day of vacation and it was amazing! I had the boss burger and I can confidently say it was one of the BEST burgers I have ever had. The friendliness of the workers was awesome too, highly recommended eating here.

Love this place. All the ice cream goodies are amazing. My vegetarian daughter and her boyfriend said the garden burger is the best they’ve ever had. The fries and chili dog were way better than I expected. Service was super friendly.

I wanted to eat a simple hamburger and ended up at Foster Freeze. It’s an old building but I like older establishments with character I was planning to sit at one of the outside tables but it started to rain. The burger was good,crisp lettuce,fresh tomato. Fries were okay. Parking in the rear. Friendly employees. The food was good for what I paid under 9.00 for a combo. I only regret not buying an vanilla soft one

I love staff working here. They are amazing. Their smiles made my day. So, I wanna thank them. Of course, the ice creem I had was also great 👍

Ice cream selection is great. You can never go wrong. I love the ice cream, and the different creative was the have to make it.

i’ve never seen one of these before, i thought it was like a local dairy queen but apparently it’s a fast food chain of its own. but this place was cute! i got a cookie dough twister which was $7.75 for a small 🤨 but it was good 👍🏻

OMG! A med shake is $9 + What happened??? Used to go to the one in MDR back in the day when the shakes were $4. I understand inflation but when a Shake Shack shake costs $6.50 , YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!!!! My fav place now done with. Hard pass!

The best ice creams in town! I have been going to frosted freeze since the early 2000s. Have taken my kids there too. Must go place!

Ice cream flavors are fresh and not too sweet unless you choose sweet toppings. We ordered cherry brownie foster, banana foster with Reese's peanut butter foster and a Oreo foster. Service was great! They were preparing to close and still helped us, and were still pleasant and helpful. Ambiance is the same like all Fosters Freeze joints - clean, plenty of parking and tables to stop and enjoy your desserts. Will make this our usual spot for ice cream!

The staff were super friendly and my twister was made quickly. Tasted to good! The size was also perfect. I ordered a small and it was around $7 and hit the spot.

Without a doubt, the greatest swirl of soft serve ice cream I have ever received. It's as if the ice cream gods descended from the heavens, whispered sweet nothings to the machine, and blessed it with divine swirly perfection. I will go the rest of my life, and possibly into my next reincarnation, comparing all soft serve swirls to this one.

I heard this is the original location. I'll stayed in the wood all my life and finally decided to walk here and try this place on a summer day. It wasn't too packed when I came. When I pass by this place it's always people here. I never saw this place empty. I ordered the chicken strips combo which came with fries and a drink. I also ordered an Oreo milkshake. Now the milkshake just didn't do it for me. It was more of a thin consistency than thick. Next time I'll get the twister because the milkshake idk...... unless you like a thin consistency shake you'll like this. The food was amazing! The chicken strips were really good and so was the fries! Service was good and the food didn't take long to come out. I'll come back especially because it's in walking distance from my house. It's outdoors only seating which is perfect on a hot sunny day in LA.

A staple of the community that has great prices, good ice cream and great burgers from what i hear.. my wife and i have been coming to fosters freeze since we were kids. Sadly this location and Torrance are the 2 remaining locations remain in our area.. the service is always good to stellar here. Case in point as I'm sitting here writing this review an elderly man in a wheel chair ordered food and could not open his bag of food. So one of the employees came out opened his bag for him so he could eat and drink his shake. Now that's service. Apparently this gentleman comes here often and they do this for him every time.. melts your heart for sure. The noise level is loud here because of the proximity to the street, so don't expect a quiet environment. But if you're in the area I recommend Fosters Freeze for a quick sundae, soft serve or twister plus many more options.

This is my first choice chicken sandwich when I want one, lettuce is always crisp.I would eat one everyday if I could.

Accidental and great experience. My wife was coming to pick me up from UHaul across the street. UH closed for the night, so I came here to wait and decided to have dinner. Ordered a fish sandwich and a cheeseburger, both excellent. Fries perfectly crispy. I also ordered a soda water, which had just the slightest tinge of Mountain Dew/7up essence. Vibe was friendly from both the staff and the families who came in to get there dinners and hang out at the benches. Mu son attends college in town and I'm going to bring him here when I come back to visit - what a way to experience south central for the first time!

This is the first Fosters freeze and I stopped by to check it out. There have been little updates made to the restaurant. I ordered a single vanilla cone. The flavor is Great and the cone itself is good. The ice milk they use has a good texture and flavor. The employees are nice and the paito seating is nice to watch the world go by.

This place never fails me I love it here the food is delicious I got a spicy chicken big boss which comes with an onion ring lettuce tomato mayonnaise and American and Swiss cheese, I had replaced my american cheese with a double Swiss and added grilled onions and pickles it was so bomb ! And extra toasted bun of course Although I didn't get to get my shake this time but this place is bomb !

Okay this has to be one of the most fun finds in LA I've had yet. As someone who CRAVES Dairy Queen (which is like non existent in LA) this was what I needed. So many fun menu options but the Oreo twister was irresistible. Being from the east coast, little soft serve ice cream stands like this are so common, yet I never see them in LA. This is just super dope and I can't wait to go back for more treats

Fosters Freeze is truly a classic burger and soft serve joint from the past. This location is actually the very first Fosters Freeze that George Foster opened up back in 1946. This place dishes out some great burgers and fries. My personal favorite is "The Big Boss" you can't go wrong with this classic burger with 2 types of cheeses, bacon, onion rings and that famous "Fosters Sauce". Just writing about it makes me want to go pick another burger now. What's so great about the burgers here is that they have a real fresh & home style kind of quality to them not like the typical burger chains that most of us are all to familiar with. But once you've had your burger get ready for the real reason Fosters Freeze is still in business over 70 years. Those magnificent frozen treats!!! They have such a great variety of tasty sweet treats that it is always a challenge to make a choice. My top choices #1 - Hot Fudge Brownie Twister: vanilla soft serve mixed with brownie chunks and hot fudge served in a cup. #2 - Hot Fudge Brownie Parfait: a tall cup with multiple different layers of vanilla soft serve, hot fudge and brownie (all separated) with a dollop of whip cream and nuts to top it. (As you can see I like my fudge brownie) #3 - Chocolate Shake: your classic shake that's great when your on the go or just feel like having something simple yet satisfying. When you feel like treating yourself to a quick delicious and fun meal, come check out this blast from the past.

Hey, want to give a shout out this place was closed however they serve me in a couple of my friends the lady was very nice and accommodated us, which is where I would definitely come back here again thank you all I was craving that ice cream. I had the Oreo cookie twister. My friend had the cheesecake twister and my other friend and the brownie twister good job you guys.

Although i didn't stay for long the guy who took the order was very nice, and waited like 2 minutes for my milkshake. Got a large which was around 11$, while a little on the pricey side it was very delicious. Definitely coming again.

This place has amazing service, delicious food, and for a small business they do great on all charts!

Best soft serve ever. I was so sad when the one in the marina closed down, was glad to come across this location. Makes it worth going to that area tbh.

First time coming by, ordered the big boss, spicy chicken sandwich, chili cheese dog and some fries for good measure. Compared to fast food it's above average but nothing really did wow me or has a special taste. It's not something I see myself craving or going out of the way for unless you are looking for a sweet tooth fix. They have a lot and I will be coming back to check out the tipped cones and other soft serve specialties.

You have to try the Famous farm burger, I tried it with no onions but let me tell you that is a full meal you only need to eat one, and the rest of the day is taken care of I found it very nice and clean, the service was really friendly I had to wash it down with a Diet Coke and some of your delicious french fries. Definitely has a classic feel to it but at the same time I found the options for shakes and Frosty's the biggest reason to come back... And I will LOL love this place!

So happy this place is still open. Grew up with Foster's Freeze. Ice cream choices are substantial. I love the little fried burrito. Onion rings are good. Support family owned businesses, please!

This is for the ice cream. For good if you like soft serve. It's classic. I usually get the root beer freeze. Not the root beer float, but root beer freeze. So good. Also tried the ice cream vanilla cones. Always good! Service can be spotty as they can get very busy especially in summer months. To be expected I guess. Ambience. It's an ice cream place. Nothing to brag about.

If you're looking for an ice cream or fast food establishment that hasn't changed in decades this is the place. It's rare and unique in a good way, given all the upscale expensive ice cream parlors there are these days. Fosters soft serve ice cream shops are hard to find, nostalgic and inexpensive. Great neighborhood establishment.

Fist of all let me just say the lady who helped us was a super hero haha! I'm so sad I didn't get her name. She took down all our requests like a champion: Extra peanuts on icecream, extra peanut butter in twister, extra whip cream here & there, adding graham cracker, etc. and she offered extra napkins multiple times. It's the little things that make customers feel special! Such attentiveness! We got chocolate dipped vanilla soft serve on a cake cone with peanut sprinkles, banana twister, & Reece's twister. All goodie yummy items matched our expectations. Bless the employee who made our experience exceptional! Wish I could mention her by name :(

This place is great customer service the best very nice I recommend the porfeit not sure how it is spelled but very good the young lady very nice greets customer with a nice smile friendly makes a great dessert. Haven't tried the food yet but that's next. I got a sweet tooth so I plan to try all the desserts Lol just not at one time

Had the best chili cheese burger and and fries (while hot) the other day. It was actually really good.

The service was awesome. Food was even better. This is like a go to spot after a smoke sesh. They got ice cream twisters/blizzards With a good amount of choices in candy,snacks,and fruits with vanilla and chocolate ice cream only. Still undeniably good worth the trip. gotta check it out this place been here since 1946. The vibe was chill. :)

Great burgers and nice staff! Love their fries too. Everything was clean and everything we had on the menu tasted great. They are fast too but meals are individually prepared after you arrive.

It is 104 degrees outside and your kid cannot stand the heat! You ask "Ice Cream?" And well the rest is history. You already know where to go for such a craving! Love the convenience of this place. There is rarely a line and the cashiers are always nice and attentive. They have plenty of parking spots right in the back or you can park in the street.

So many amazing things to choose from stop by and satisfy any craving you may have. This is the Original location.

The orange freeze is the reason to stop here. Reminds me of the old Arctic Orange shake at McDonald's. Overall an old time hamburger stand experience

I would post a picture of what we ordered but we were too hungry for pictures. We decided to stop at this spot after getting off a long flight and are very happy we did. We ordered a classic burger, the chicken sandwich, chili cheese fries, and a banana raspberry smoothie, all of which was super delicious. The workers here were very nice and prepared our food quickly. It's nearby the SoFi stadium so if you're ever in the city for an event there I recommend coming here!

Been coming here since I was a kid and it's never failed me! I almost always come for the ice cream (which is amazing) but recently had the Big Boss burger & that was so good! Top tier food.

Grew up in the OC going to the Buena Park Foster. Moved to LA and kept going, but it closed down a couple years ago. I then went on a run and found a few, but this one was it! Friendly staff and make the Big Boss meal just like I want it! They even know my order, and they call me out when I don't go for some time haha

Love coming here, especially for banana splits. This place is convienient you just order and go. The staff here is really nice too! Brings childhood memories!

I've lived down the street from this place basically all my life and I barely came here for the first time today. The offer root beer floats, sundaes, banana splits, parfaits, ice cream cones, burgers, hot dogs, etc. little tiny spot off la brea but has yummy ice cream

A classic hamburger shack with possibly the best burger in Los Angeles. Do not come here with high expectations on salads It is an old fashioned burger stand with classic shakes and ice cream deserts. Very much so the best burger you will find in a very long time.

This place I suspect has fake fosters freeze ice cream, got two cones the other day, did not match up with other fosters freeze at other locations. Wasn't creamy like original fosters freeze, ice cream wasn't bad overall but I don't think it was the real stuff. It didn't feel or taste like fosters freeze.

Solid hamburger spot the malts and chicken sandwiches are excellent and you always get a good amount of fries

Really great food and friendly people. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it had a lot of chicken! The fries are really tasty and crinkle cut which makes it better to eat.

I went to buy ice cream, I would have given them a 5 star review but the customer service was awful...we waited with no one at the register for about 3 min and then the lady worker came from the back, she had an attitude towards us like we just asked her to work for free.

Love supporting a small business. Not to many of these anymore. Spoke to the owners Sister. So sweet and held a beautiful smile the whole time. Got the regular as when I was a kid a snickers twister. Don't ever close this place.

Holy cow this place is awesome! A little tiny place but their ice cream is SO DAMN GOOD. First time here and the staff was pretty nice, I ordered a vanilla cone and my BF ordered a vanilla sundae and dang I can't get over how good it was. Rich, tasty flavor! His sundae was also perfect with a good amount of peanuts and fudge topped with a cherry. Can't wait to come back ! :)

The Fosters website boast of a 65 year anniversary with the 1st location being at 999 S La Brea Ave, but on their site it's listed as 999 S.La Brea "Blvd" - The contact link was non functional so I called the main office in Rancho Cucamonga. Some idiot hung up on me as soon as I asked if this was FF - I called right back got voice mail and this is what I told them - That store has been there for 65 years and you don't even know what street it's on - There's no such thing as La Brea Blvd in LA. So I gave them a 2 star rating for their crappy customer service web link and lousy attitude on the phone. Back in the 70's I had friends that worked at the location on north La Brea ave in Hollywood - that location is no longer with us. The peanut butter and banana Malt was my favorite - the burgers and fries kind of sucked - hot dogs were good but everything was over priced even back then - The manager was selling fenced Kenwood and Pioneer car stereos for 50 bucks a pop brand new thru the back door - always some kind of riff raff in Hollywood

Good spot for a simple milk shake. The small size is actually 12oz and it was only $2.50. Cash only!! Got the cherry milk shake. So milky and sweet. Very casual place. Don't expect much from the workers, and everything is good.

No star !! Absolutely NONE!!!!!! I will never go back to eat there !!! I was standing in the window as he took my payment after ordering !! Jesus!!! It's unbelievable what I seen !!! 3 roaches on his grill and the counter behind him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nasty !!! Dirty place !!! They also have food all over the floor !!!! ThTs the reason why they have roaches !!
