Foundation Room Boston

If you're willing to buy a ticket to a show, you mine as well get the Foundation room if it's available. It is expensive to become a member but sometimes you can add it on for $20-$30. I find myself wanting to spend as much time in the Foundation Room as I do the venue floor while there. The decor is phenomenal, psychedelic, and the pictures are just a fraction of the splendor. Theres plenty of space to settle in with a large or small group here, and there's even a deck! There's TVs throughout the rooms with stage on display. Also separate bathrooms and bar from the main show. (drinks are cheaper downstairs though)

Love the bar/nightclub before and after concerts. The menu is pretty good and the dj’s in between are pretty cool. Love the classy, upscale vibes while at the bar. Being able to grab a drink 10x faster than folks inside of the venue during concerts is an incredible perk. One of the best parts about going to House of Blues in Boston is enjoying the foundation room.

I am a Central MA-based wedding planner, and with my company, Core Events Co. I worked with a fabulous couple to host their wedding at the Foundation Room Boston. To say we were completely and totally blown away by the service we received there is a vast understatement. My client's original venue was a horror show of terrible service and awful communication, so we decided just a few months out to switch gears and find a new venue. The House of Blues kind of fell into our laps since my clients are both amazing musicians and love the overall moody vibe and atmosphere of HOB. We worked with the event staff, Madi & Meaghan, who were both so caring, attentive, and intuitive to all of our wants and needs for the event throughout the entire process. There was never a question left unanswered, and it truly felt like we were one united team working together to pull off an incredible night for our clients. I will add that this was not your traditional wedding, as my clients got legally married during COVID and wanted to have an epic celebration with their friends and family, who flew in from all over the US & Canada. Planning something like this in under 4 months normally would be a trick to pull off, but with the help of the HOB staff, it was an easy and enjoyable process from start to finish. The day of the event went so flawlessly thanks to the entire HOB staff. The event was 3 months ago and we are all STILL reminiscing about the delicious food, atmosphere, and the fun we all had planning and executing the wedding. I cannot recommend this venue enough. If you're looking for a unique, fun, and unforgettable venue in Boston, your search ends here. It was truly an experience I will always remember! Thank you HOB TEAM!

I went with my girlfriend to dinner before a show. We ordered different drinks but neither drink had any alcohol. My drink cost $15. It was supposed to be a rum and coke but there was no rum. My girlfriend had a cocktail with gin. I strongly dislike the taste of gin but when I tasted her drink I could not taste any gin. Then we ordered food. My girlfriend ordered the cajun pasta . It tasted good but barely had any chicken or sausage. I ordered a burger. I requested it be cooked medium. It was barely cooked so I had to send it back. It took several minutes for me to get our waitress' attention. My girlfriend finished her meal before my second burger arrived. This burger was cooked medium rare. It was still undercooked but I ate it anyway because the show was starting soon. The undercooked burger tasted fine.

Aidan/Kenzie were great. Awesome spot and awesome service.

Waste of money. They tell you that you’ll get early access to the venue and then you end up being let in AFTER people who didn’t purchase The Foundation Room. Had I known this, I would’ve never wasted my money on it. They shouldn’t false advertise or have their staff lie to patrons if they’re just going to have security hold you up.

What a great find this place is. Great food, staff. For a small upgrade if your going to the House of Blues you get access to this gem. If you want a burger and fries go somewhere else.

The venue itself is great and a perfect add-on to your show ticket and the drinks are great but I wouldn't recommend eating here. The food is a bit pricey for what you get - though not exorbitant by any stretch - but the quality is subpar. None of the 4 meals or app we ordered were very tasty, and some were just yucky. Lots of much better restaurants at similar price points in the area that won't leave you unsatisfied or with an upset stomach.

When my partner upgraded us to VIP tickets for a show at House of Blues I was skeptical if it would be worth it. But it totally was! The Foundation room was stunning and unique. Going upstairs the walls are covered with beautiful quilted fabric. Upon entering you are greeted by a shrine to Ganesha. The bar area is full of dark wood, stained glass and features a fireplace. The whole ambiance is one of luxury and comfort. There's also an outdoor area overlooking the street if you want views of the city or to get some fresh air. The only letdown was the food. We ordered appetizers and entrees. It took forever to arrive and my burger was dry and overcooked. I would recommend go for the drinks and the ambiance not the food.

Huge portions, food was yummy and filling. Our waitress, Maya, helped me find a mocktail since I can't drink right now that still made me feel like i was having a night out experience. We arrived early and were able to also enjoy the lounge area after dinner and before our show, which had enough vignettes for all of the patrons.

Overall the service experience in the foundation room, as well as the quality of the food, was awful. I bought tickets to this show with single-night foundation room access months ago and was severely let down. I called the venue several hours prior to the show and was answered by a very friendly woman on the phone. I asked if it were possible to eat before the show in the foundation room restaurant with only single-night access, and she said yes, absolutely. "Just speak with the hostess at the dining room when you arrive." She went on, "you can try to reserve a table on OpenTable if any are still available, but they're definitely not necessary, as tables open up you'll be able to get seated." Great! Sounded like a fun night in store. We arrived, dressed up and ready to go before the opener even came on. We went straight to the hostess and asked about getting seated or putting our name in and she practically laughed in my face. She Said "unfortunately without reservations it won't be possible to dine in tonight, but we do have a lounge food menu and you're welcome to order off that." I said ok great, do I just order from the bartenders? Or from you? She goes "no, there is a server on the floor and he will come up to you. I'll let him know you want to order food." Ok, great. We got a couple drinks from the bartender and found a seat and decided what we were going to order from the lounge menu. It was then that I started to realize something was wrong. Servers never came up to us, and everyone in the room was complaining. One customer said they had ordered food over 45 minutes ago and it hadn't come yet, so he went to the server and said "I'm sorry I'm going to need to cancel my ticket man, the opener is coming on." Finally after a ton of waiting, we got the attention of one of the extremely frazzled servers rushing back and forth across a not-very-crowded foundation room. Told him we wanted to order food and he was like, "ohhhh, well. Just need to warn you. The kitchen is EXTREMELY backed up and food is taking awhile." I asked, how long is awhile? He said, "oh easily 30-45 minutes." I said well, is there anything that we can order that is quicker to make and will come out faster? He said "sure, the charcuterie plate will be out in less than 5 minutes," and apologized he didn't offer that to begin with. I said great, we'll take that, and a couple more drinks please. Well, the charcuterie plate took way longer than 5 minutes, closer to 20 in actuality. And our drinks never came. Asked a different server about our drinks and he said I'll have to tell your server. Then our server walked by again 2 or 3 more times and we finally flagged him down and said hey, can we get our drinks? He goes "oh, I'm sorry you guys ordered drinks? Remind me what you ordered again?" We reminded him, and asked for a couple napkins and some utensils since our charcuterie plate came with nothing. Finally got the drinks, still no napkins or utensils. Those came when we were almost finished with the charcuterie plate and the main act had started playing on stage. Now I'm pretty upset at this point. There were other patrons, including foundation room members who were complaining also. As to the quality of the charcuterie plate itself, it was really, really bad! The grapes were mealey and wrinkly, one of them was almost ready to grow mold. The yellow cheese cubes had a suspiciously high amount of white powdery stuff on them, that also kinda looked like mold. The salami looked absolutely like it was going bad, and it smelled bad too, so we didn't touch that, and the prosciutto was kinda dull and gray looking. All in all, there was a small amount of edible food on the plate that we reluctantly ate. Not acceptable for a $23 charcuterie plate. I've had better charcuterie from the gas station honestly. We couldn't wait to pay our bill and get the heck out of there. Still tipped well because, who knows, it probably wasn't the servers fault. It felt like bad management and understaffing to me. What a terrible experience. The foundation room used to be good. What happened?

Amazing beautiful location...early entry to venue...coat check...was worth it alone for the bathrooms

While I love some things about this place ....the fundamentals are lacking. The food is wildly overpriced for a strange menu with small portions that are disappointing. It seems they are having an identity crisis and are not sure what to serve? The service was very spotty in the dining area as well. So I guess I would recommend not eating here and going here only for cocktails and the pre party and post concert party. The place is amazing for this. No line, lots of bars, great places to cozy up and sit. Also have great DJs playing as well. The takeaway is.....super fun place for drinks and fun. Eat elsewhere.

Worst customer service ever! I was treated terrible! I was an invited guest of a member. My friends and I received attitude from the front staff when we walked in and continued throughout the evening. The staff was borderline hostile. Growing up in the service industry I would never treat a customer as such. My family owned a restaurant for 64 years so I know.!

Made a reservation for after a show, which was confirmed in an email. When we arrived, they turned us away at the door claiming there were 2 private parties. Horrendous that a business would allow you to reserve a table then turn you away. It was a busy Saturday at dinner time with the Red Sox playing, and we had no other options at that point. We left the city hungry in search of dinner elsewhere. Horrible way to do business...stay away!

I've been here twice for a show and it is definitely NOT worth the $30 supplement per ticket! (I seem to remember paying $20 the first time.) Yeah, it's cool-looking with the tapestries and the couches are comfy, but that's about it. We went to a show last week and there weren't many people in the Foundation Room. I noticed a waitress go to some sitting areas to take drink orders, but she didn't come over to us. The bartending area left a bit to be desired. I stood in front of the bar, clearly intending to place my order. The bartender talked to the two women by me and it'd be one thing if he was chatting while making their drinks - but they hadn't even placed their drink orders yet and he was talking to one of the women about her kids and her custody issues! Come on. Get your flirt on during your own time. I finally went to the other bartender once she was free. After the show we decided to hang out a bit and wait for the crowds to thin before hitting the T. There were three bartenders behind the bar and two had their back to me the whole time as I waited to place an order. They were going over something at the cash register while the one working bartender scrambled to fill drink orders. Also, forget about access to the mezzanine - you have to go one flight up! I'm not really sure what we paid $60 extra for. We definitely didn't feel like VIPs or "special." (Sorry, HOB, but I wouldn't promise that you'll "enjoy nothing less than rockstar status" to those coughing up $30 to sit on a couch and be ignored.) My husband wasn't feeling well so it was good to know that there was a comfy place for him to hang out if he needed to sit down. Otherwise, we'll skip the Foundation Room in the future.

The worst!! We went at 5:30 (with reservations) and they tried to sit 4 of us on two couches with a coffee table for dinner. We asked for a regular table and that was clearly a huge imposition (per the hostesses face and reaction when we kindly asked for a regular table). She was kind enough to accommodate us after a "meeting" with the manager (FYI...there were a ton of open tables). Once we were seated it took 20 mins to get our drink order and 40 mins to put in our food order (it was not busy). We ordered dirty martinis and they tasted like a glass of straight olive juice. One hour and 30 mins later we finally got our food...which was not entirely correct. The Mac and cheese tasted freezer burnt (to prove my point it was cold in the middle), the quesadillas tasted like old chicken (and cold in the middle) and the hamburger was completely over cooked. The waitress was nice but never came to check on us. My husband ordered a beer that never came but did show up on the bill. After dinner we thought we would grab a drink at the bar (not sure why) before heading to Fenway for our concert. The bar was not busy but it took at least 25 mins for the bartender to address us. When she asked what we wanted we started to place our order (4 very straight forward drinks) and she made a hand gesture like "yeah yeah what else"....we were so shocked and appalled. Not to mention the entire place smells of incense...like reeks and of it! No wonder this was the only restaurant with reservations available on a concert night! I would rather eat chewed gum off the street than step foot in this place again!

The Foundation room at Boston's House of Blues is a unique bar and dining experience un to itself. The atmosphere is subdued with a Buddhist and Indian decor. You can sit up at the bar or in a nice chair in front of a fireplace. There is a small dining room and a private dining area off the dining room which also has individual booths beautifully decorated. If you are attending an event at the House of Blues in Boston, I highly recommend spending some time in the Foundation Room.

Did not enjoy the experience, not worth the money. This does not give you access you VIP areas, despite being "a VIP experience." Staff are rude and unfriendly.

This is based purely on the service/quality of beverages. If this review were based on the decor, it would be much higher but I have subscribed to the 'pig in a prom dress' philosophy. I went for the BYPA Masquerade ball last night which was actually quite lovely. Kudos to the group for a good night. While buying a round of drinks for my friends, the blonde bartender I worked with was pretty rude to me. I tried to make sure I didn't overwhelm her since I was ordering 5 drinks but she said to fire away only to be cut off rudely with an 'OKAY STOP' after listing about 3 drinks. Whatever, perhaps she was overwhelmed. Later when I go back towards the end of the night, I was ignored for about 10 minutes while the bartenders weren't actually serving anyone but rather putting glasses away. (none of which were used for my cocktails) The blonde from before finally comes up to me and says something. I tell her what I want then she walks away completely ignoring what I said. I eventually flag down another guy who basically throws the two glasses of water at me I asked for but ignored the order for the other cocktail I wanted. I was so fed up at this point, I demanded to close my tab and for the first time ever, didn't leave a tip. I understand there were a lot of people there but YOU'RE BARTENDERS IN FENWAY. You deal with this volume every weekend. The amount of people in the room was no more overwhelming than any other douchebag weekend in the Fens. There's just no excuse for service that bad in ratio to drinks that expensive. Also, any cocktail served in a solo cup should NEVER cost more than $7. NEVER. Especially the lousy cocktails they were making here.

This is an event room separate from the House of Blues used during charity events or you have to be a member (which is 2500 per year) or know a member and you can get access to the room. Really impressive decor and quite over the top. Think MTV house meets Bobby Trendy (you remember him right, the Anna Nicole designer?!). Plus Velvet pillows, velvet wall paper, purple velvet couches with rhinestones... did I mention Velvet? There are two rooms, one that is a sitting area that will typically have hor d'oeuvres dujour, ya know a few couches where you can chat with that girl who is out of your league ....or the main room with the bar with the same girl...wait ...where did she go...oh she left already?

We visited the Foundation Room last week for a Miguel concert at the House of Blues. This was my first time visiting the Foundation Room, but I've been to HOB lots of times. I didn't try a ton of food, I only had the sweet soy tenders, which were flavorful and pretty juicy. The atmosphere was warm, chic and loungy. It was also hella dark in there which didn't help when I tried to get a good look at my food and the decor. Service was great, though. The hostesses were friendly, attentive and made sure we knew where to go once venue doors opened. The bar staff (Bryson and Annabelle) were really cool and down to earth! They were friendly, attentive, and held great conversation while they worked. My time at the bar was great! Now for the downside. As a guest at the Foundation Room, why did it take security 5+ minutes after 7:00 to open the doors to the venue? I wanted early entry to get front row positioning, and had to squeeze my way into second row, and I just barely made that! Come on, guys! Come on. Patrons need a membership to get into the FR as is, should we not be treated like VIPs? I attended the FR to avoid the lines, and lounge in style, but for what we spent at the bar, we could have had a whole meal down stairs at Crossroads and still got in early if we timed it right, which I've done. It defeated the purpose, especially for people like me who plan their concert experiences out. The show was dope, though. Miguel...*swoon*

We have had such horrid " in line" experiences at House of Blue AKA House of Rules, that we bought two passes to the Foundation Room. For 20.00 pp you get access to a very cool Middle Eastern decor multi room hot spot for food, libation and quick access to the Mezz level. Food is nothing to write home about but the staff are great and the romantic cozy booth was amazing. We will fork over 40.00 again just to get out of that insande

The Foundation Room is all about love. Music moves us to love. Food is something to be loved. And literally, the Foundation Room is covered in love. The walls are adorned with pieces of Indian wedding dresses. The decor is a feast for the eyes. It may be expensive to visit prior to a concert... but if you want a night of ease and love, this is a good place to start.

This place is what I imagine the inside of a Gene's bottle would look like. Plush, dark/dim lighting, gold & earth tone coloring... very fancy. I was here for an event, which is probably the only way I will ever see the inside of this place... for events... because it is members only, and I think the memberships start at about $2,000. I will say for an event space, this is quite nice. Lots of seating, passed hors d'oeuvres were delish, and the staff was very helpful. This place can be a bit of a maze when you're heading back to the restrooms, so don't feel bad if you get turned around... a number of people (myself included) had to take a moment upon exiting to look around and regain bearings before heading back into the main room. Very cool space, and glad I had the chance to see the inside. I'm fortunate that I'm going to be attending an event here next month as well, and can't wait to go back!

August 2010 Wedding Reception Party. Great location on Landsdowne Street. Decor is Eastern with tapestry walls and statues. Lots of seating, lots of standing, nice bathrooms, friendly staff, full bar, great apps and desserts. There are about 4 different spaces to hang out in, which was nice as the live band was rather loud sometimes. Easy access to HOB downstairs, though we went to a hotel after wards to top off the night. Not sure I would bother being a member unless you have a good use for the space that year.

Had an amazing experience with the foundation room! Nicole Der Ananian made sure we had the absolute best time that we could. We had come for the Greta van fleet show and we were able to skip the line, have some drinks, and get into the venue before the gates opened! The after show was great as well having somewhere to get drinks and continue the great time!!!

The ambiance was pretty cool, very over the top. It was nice to get out of JP and see something a little crazier. The rooms are like a maze, and I love how you can find private places to get away to. The DJ who was there the night I went really stunk, they actually played "jump around" by house of pain... in 2012.... I also found it a little awkward how it was really just dancing in the middle of the room, rather then a dance floor. +1 for free coat check (at least with the cover). That was highly appreciated in the cold Boston weather. The bouncer was actually crazy nice, A+ to him. He made waiting in the cold slightly more bearable. One of our bartenders was clearly enjoying his job and dancing along to the music which I got a kick out of, he was also super friendly. The drinks were waaay overpriced. This is Boston, not New York City. I understand we were at Fenway, in a fancier establishment...but the level that the drinks were prepared at were not up to standards for the price. It's basically the bartending skill of your local pub for the price of an upscale bar/restaurant. Between that, the dance floor, and the music, it's enough to strip the place of two stars. Definitely solid for an interesting night out at a place that has a different look then most.

The Foundation Room is a beautifully, appointed and comfortable room that is part of the House Of Blues in Boston. It has an Asian/Indian theme and includes some antiques that are thousands of years old. Some of the walls have been adorned in a tapestry of scarves - just beautiful and elegant. Private dining is available here, as well as function rooms for use by foundation members. There are a myriad of sitting areas - in front of a fireplace, couches, curtained off dining tables, etc., as well as a bar for those with access to the Foundation Room. My wife and I got a chance to check it out courtesy of one of the Foundation Room hosts, Jonathan Lewis. You could not ask for a better ambassador for the experience and the foundation. He was kind, funny, outgoing, and incredibly helpful and generous with his time. And most of all, he was wonderfully welcoming. This is a man who really knows the meaning of service, and, at the same time, we came away thinking that we made a new friend. While for a number of reasons, we won't be becoming a Foundation Member (which allows a slew of benefits), you can get in the room for the evening for an additional $21.50 per ticket. If you want to feel a bit special while attending a concert at the House Of Blues, I highly recommend it.

I LOVED this place. Seriously, finally a place that has everything I'm looking for for a great night out- * Fantastic decor- very Middle Eastern/India inspired. All of the walls are covered in tapestry, it's so cool. You really feel like you're in someone's house- in a good way * Good drinks, not too expensive (a vodka tonic was $8.50) * Great music! Good European club hits to dance to, which caters to my every desire. Very classy not Euro trashy majestical place

Friendly staff, beautiful lounge but for paying $20/ person to get in and every entree not he menu basically being over 25 bucks I would have expected a bit more .... Being in Boston etc. the ambiance of this place is obviously what you're paying for so make sure you check out each little cubby in here. The only thing that I ate hat I would recommend, and I would say its a MUST get is the brisket sliders. Had they offered that succulent meat dripping with amazing gravy and sauce as a main course, I would have ordered that and been ecstatic.

I thought this place was great. Really impressed by the decor. Came upon it by utter chance as I was looking for a good place to take my sister and her family on our weekend to Boston. Found it and got a coupon on Restaurant.com , I have to say the place blew my mind. LOVED the decor, and the food was excellent. Highly recommend it (but bring the coupon! .. can get pricey)

What a cool place....too bad the staff wasn't. Some serious attitudes and laziness at play on the way into the club. They turned us around in circles and were very unorganized. They just seemed like they couldn't be bothered helping us. Which surprises me, because it seems like a sick place to work. Then they said we didn't have tickets... not the way to treat paying VIP guests. Except for one really nice hostess who got our tickets and VIP wrist bands, everyone else on the way in was terrible. Including the bar tender. Despite the bar being empty, she seemed annoyed and took way too long. No smiles there. I know we're not members, rock stars or part of their entourage, but come on. Don't let miserable people ruin a cool and unique spot in Boston. We don't have many places like these! Hopefully someone takes notice, makes some attitude adjustments, and finds a few solid people to join the staff. Shouldn't be that hard to find after all...

It's alright, I really dig the hallways to hidden-like rooms, but the bar staff can be hit or miss. Sometimes great, sometimes a real pain in the you know what. The food is good either at the restaurant or the apps available otherwise so that is a saving grace of sorts. But here is why they get two stars. In my opinion, Boston's foundation room is one of the weakest in the chain, it's alright, but it's not excellent. And, if you become a member, Boston has it's "own" pricing tier. Their beginning membership fee for local Foundation room access is actually $250 more than the Second Tier membership fee of the other Foundation Rooms which give you nationwide access to all Foundation rooms. So, tip to the wise, if you decide to become a member, do it at another House of Blues, as you will get National access to the foundation rooms, including the Boston room, for the price of just getting local access here. So they get two stars because it's random if the staff is going to be nice, and because their pricing tier is obnoxiously snobbish and gouging in it's approach.

As a current Foundation Room member I would like to share my opinion of the venue and staff. My membership has been by far, worth every penny of its annual dues. From the first inquiry that I made to Jonathan Lewis (VIP host) about the Foundation Room Membership my experience as been stellar. I have been thoroughly impressed and well taken care of each and every time I attend an event at the House of Blues. Jonathan Lewis has been the ultimate VIP host. He has gone above and beyond my expectations to treat me like a greatly valued, VIP during my dining experiences as well as my attendance to the many, many concerts at House of Blues every year. He has made my guests and I feel like royalty during every visit. I enjoy my membership but without Jonathan's superb hospitality and attentiveness I can honestly say that I would not have continued to renew my membership annually. What a wonderful VIP host who takes Foundation Room membership to the next level.......

I was lucky enough to join my girlfriend last night at The House of Blues in Boston. I wasn't feeling well, but decided to go anyway. What a good decision! We parked feet from the golden doors, and entered into a world of cool funky goodness! Jim Belushi, Johnny A and the Uptown Horns, James Montgomery Band, members of Boston, Santana, Aerosmith, and the Joe Perry Project. What!!!!!!!! What a joyous overload of talent! Yes please, I'll have more! More they did, one pulse slamming, chest resonating performance after another. The Music, atmosphere, and people watching was exquisite! Thanks Ann for the night and for the pick you caught from Johnny A for my bass player son Jameson. He's into different music with his band Conforza but he loved the pick! In all a perfect time!

I would not pay $2500 per year to become a member of the Foundation Room, but the Foundation Room sure is a wonderful place to frequent (free after certain HOB events and if a member invites you). I came here after the Remember Haiti Concert/Fundraiser at the HOB and just had a great night. Some of the performers at the Haiti concert initially played a short set, but then a DJ came on board (more hits than misses with the songs he spun). And it was fun to dance on carpet! Drinks were good but most notable for the generous portions. The space is gold and red lush, lots of rooms and nooks, ornate chandeliers, low couches, Hindu sculptors, South Asian art and tapestries. This place evokes a certain level of intimacy. You feel almost like you are at a party at someone's home, albeit a very ornate and well decorated home, just dancing and hanging out with a group of friends. I must befriend a member, so I can come back here very soon.

I have been to the HOB Boston a few times but this was my first visit to the foundation room. We were in town for the weekend and some friends invited us to join them. We were very impressed with the vibe and decor. However, we were blown away by the staff. One staff member in particular, Jonathan. I talked to him a few times and was very impressed with his professionalism as well as his willingness to help in any way possible. He seemed to know every answer about anything in Boston. I watched him handle different situations with kindness and respect. I am a smoker and I stepped outside several times and saw him in action. He called me by name every time. I decided to test him so I saw him introduce himself to someone and waited 30 minutes or so and asked him there name. Of course he remembered. He was the highlight of the evening for me and I hope HOB realizes what a gem of an employee they have!

Fantastic experience ! The decor was great , oriental rugs and Hindu gods everywhere! Nooks and crannies, winding hallways and private rooms, feel like a celebrity for the night!

I went to a show at House of Blues and the Foundation Room last night with five of my friends and we all had a great night. The Foundation Room has a really cool lounge-vibe with a cozy feeling, and the decor is beautiful. The bar is nice, there is also a restaurant, but I did not try the food there. This is my first time at the Foundation Room and I will say that I would definitely go again because of the excellent experience we had. Jonathan provided exceptional customer service to me and my five friends, he remembered all of our names and was personable, funny, kind, and helpful. He is the reason that I am writing my first review on Yelp! And he is also the reason that I will recommend The Foundation Room to other people. He's a gem! Thank you Jonathan for a great night!!

I recently obtained a Foundation Room membership and have been pleasantly surprised. I love it there. The staff has made me feel like this is a home away from home for me. Andrew Chery has been by far the most outstanding person I have met on staff. I recommend anyone thinking of becoming a member to definitely do so!

This place is really cool. Impeccably decorated and it really has a cozy feel. Most of the staff is really friendly and attentive, and if you can get in here for an after party after a show at the House of Blues, you just might bump into some of your favorite artists. The drinks are pricey and there is a cover charge usually but they also have live music some nights which is fun. The atmosphere and proximity to House of Blues is why I'm giving them four stars. They have food, but I only had drinks so I can't speak to that. Check this place out if you are in the area, it's worth checking out at least once!

This is the kind of place I never want to leave. Plush couches and ottomans, a cozy fireplace, interesting wall decor that makes you want to run your hand along it to feel the texture, beautiful rugs and fabrics, and best of all, flattering lighting. Feeling swanky and sophisticated, all I wanted to do was swirl a glass in the palm of my hand. Drink prices are sky high, but you kind of ignore that fact since you're in a place that makes you feel like you've become someone who nonchalantly waves money around, letting it flutter onto the bar without a care in the world. Who wouldn't want to feel this way every so often?

Having been to the Foundation Rooms in New Orleans, Chicago and Los Angeles, I had a few clubs to compare. Handwoven gujarat covers the walls of all FDR's. It's beautiful and a trademark. "Torrey M." has posted some lovely photos - but not of the club in action. Though I am not a member, I was able to pay + $20 on top of my show ticket to gain access to the FDR. Interesting feature considering basic membership is $5,000 per year for one (1) cardholder. My friend and I dressed up, business casual. We figured there was a dress code. Not the case at this club. Several people wore flip flops, shorts/jeans and baseball caps. I realize this club is focused on the Red Sox, but it was not a game night. Nice & cute bartender, but when I ordered a Singapore Sling, what I got was gin + simple syrup. Wishin I could've brought a go-cup from Eastern Standard. Music selections didn't complement the genre in the music hall or the decor: Lynyrd Skynyrd, America and Rolling Stones with talky DJ between every few songs. Don't get me wrong. I love the Stones, but aside from the fancy decor, I felt like I was at a sports bar. The bathroom was kinda trashed too with a lot of paper on the floor and the counter soaked. Reminded me a bit of NOLA's FDR on Halloween night at 3 a.m.

I came to the house of blues here in Boston and having worked at the one in New Orleans and Los Angeles wanted to check it out. Had a great time with friends in the foundation room and Megan Simmons was our waitress who took very good care of us. We were a rowdy bunch but she was a pro and we will be back and will request her next time. It's people like her that I am happy to pay my foundation room dues.

We were waiting in the block-long line for Dada Life last night, with all the newly-minted college freshmen (that's what you get when it's an 18+ event) and a very nice lady pulled us out of the line and directed us to Foundation room. That probably saved us 30 minutes of waiting. 30 minutes we spent drinking. The drinks were not, as many reviewers have mentioned, at all expensive for Boston -- especially on an event night in a venue. We were able to hang out in the uncrowded mezzanine area, and when we felt the need to get right in the middle of the floor, the stairs led right down to the GA area. Definitely the best HOB experience I've ever had, and I've been a dozen times or more.

Worst drinks and worst bar service do not go to the blonde behind the bar. The drinks were watered down. Asked for a little more alcohol and she refused to pour. Worst service.

Went here the other day to celebrate a special event with some friends. Very interesting look to the place. Had kind of an older 40+ crowd hanging around there being boring. Waitresses not cute like other bars, very serious employees. Beers $7+, my buddy got 2 shots of patron which was $45, which is ridiculous. We ended up leaving here and going to Jillians, much better time. The only good thing about this place was the hilarious older gentleman running the front door checklist, that guy was the man!!

Blehhh. If the Foundation Room in New Orleans is the Ruth's Chris and the Foundation Room in Chicago is the Morton's, the Foundation Room in Boston is the Burger King. And that might be pushing it, because no matter what you order at the bar, you are not going to get it your way - right away. The music was bad. This is the House of Blues people, at the very least you should play good music in your foundation room. But no, 80's rock rules Boston and Elton John and Journey were the high points. I am sure there is more to say, but it is just boring, just like the this place.

Food: Gross. Cold apps. Dry pasta. Undercooked meat. Drinks: One was great tasting, but had a serious lack of booze. One was strong, but tasted like vomit. Atmosphere: Needs a pick-me-up. Carpets and tapestries were quite raggedy. Service: Joke. Waitress would visit the table across from us 4-5 times for every time she visited us. Slow with drinks. Bad explanations. Planned to give (for the first time ever) a 10% tip, however we were automatically charged 18%. Everything about this place was over-priced. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Gorgeous and exclusive. Not the best Foundation room, but a good one. Fun on game nights, but wish that they didn't always eliminate the good food options and replace everything with crappy hot dogs. Amazing private rooms, good servers and bar tenders. Awesome for special events or a just an over-the-top night out. Amazing ambiance. So gorgeous. P.S. my server Mia took wonderful care of me and my party in our private room. She even got non-alcoholic drinks for the babies in our group (private function before regular bar hours) and tons of wine for us "babysitting." She was super cute getting birthday surprises together, too!

Wow, this place is one of the coolest bars i've been to in Boston. Made even better by the tunes of DJ Ryan Brown. Someone become a member and invite me more often!

It's really beautiful inside but drinks are outta control overpriced. I guess these are the *perks* that come with this VIP deal @ Foundation Room. A single redbull & vodka will run you $14 bucks per drink, beers are $8, a shot of whisky is $10 bucks.. be prepared to spend a lot of money on drinks.

Griffin, security manager. Able to leap talk buildings in a single bound. Seriously though, possesses the ability to discern the problem customer from those who may contribute positively to the experience of House of Blues, all within the standard corporate operating procedure. The hospitality here was perfection right from the start! My girlfriend and I based our whole trip to Boston around the concert we saw last night. Not knowing the venue and what to expect, I went on yelp and was glad to find some tips from some other yelpers. If you have dinner or hang out at the foundation room you can avoid a long line at a sold out show. We bought the standard general admission tickets, but there was also a dinner option that we didn't choose. This didn't seem to matter as we walked up to the foundation room where we met Jonathan. The most courteous, he showed us around the whole room which was beautiful and explained to us the advantages. If you're going to see a show at the house of blues it's the best way to go, a private bar and bathroom, and couches to lounge a relax on. He then walked us up to the bar and introduced us to Derek, one of the bartenders. Derek took care of us with enthusiasm all night. The show was great, we were able to hang out in the foundation room after and was able to meet the artist! Jonathan, Derek, and all of the staff really made us feel like royalty when we were just a couple in our mid 20's that we're excited to see a show. For that I am extremely grateful.

Valentine's Day Dinner from Hell! First off: I am pretty easy to please and almost never complain about anything at restaurants - I don't like to be annoying and realize that wait staff has a stressful job. However, this experience was so bad that I just have to warn others. Service: Our waitress was extremely slow and would offer to refill drinks or bring us bread, and then return 20 minutes later empty-handed, then remember what she had offered, and then another 10 minutes come back with it. Terribly slow service. Drinks: They were out of the wine I asked for (it took them 20 minutes to let me know) and so they replaced it with a different kind, which was good. However I couldn't try it the first time they served it to me because the glass was really, really dirty with lip and finger stains. I alerted the waitress and she said, "Oh, geez, we've been having a problem with that lately." (Yikes!!!) To their credit, they gave me the glass for free, but it made me wary of all the other dinnerware I was given. Food: Terrible. I ordered the lamb, and the waitress recommended it medium-rare. I said that was fine - like I said, I am easy to please - and it came out basically raw. Extremely red. I decided to try it because again, I don't like to give people a hard time, and it was the consistency of jelly. I'm hoping you can't get as terribly sick from eating raw lamb as you can from eating raw chicken or pork. Yikes. My husband had the steak which was just OK. The waitress highly recommended the veggie of the night, steamed green beans, she said it was "extremely delicious", so we also ordered that with dinner and I can't figure out how anyone with a tongue or mouth would think those beans were "extremely delicious". They were overcooked and not seasoned at all - AT ALL. The best thing we ate was probably the bread they brought out 25 minutes after offering it. The waitress then told us about the dessert menu, highly recommending one of the items (which I happen to love), so I ordered it, and then she came back to tell us that they had also run out of that. Overall it was pretty bad. Terribly slow service + dirty wine glass + raw lamb = saddest Valentine's Day Dinner ever.
