"Head to the top of Mandalay Bay to hang out in the House of Blues’ Foundation Room. Pick from one of seven rooms to sit in and then turn your attention north to the Strip. The myriad rooms inside the bar take on surprising theming with vaguely Eastern India-inspired design with Persian carpets, hand-carved statues, chandeliers, accented ceilings, and go-go dancers. But the balcony is where to go to take pictures, level with the Mandalay Bay marquee." - Janna Karel

"Whether it’s pre-dinner drinks or late-night debauchery, Foundation Room delivers with style, sophistication, and stunning views of the Strip from the 63rd floor. Dine inside the restaurant or out on the patio beneath the glittering “Mandalay Bay” sign, or enter the lounge for drinks while peering out over Las Vegas Boulevard and the Sphere. When visitors tear their eyes away from the landscape, they can explore Foundation Room’s vaguely Medieval, Asian-inflected, and very cool interior design." - Janna Karel

"The famous Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay Resort is bringing both a festive dinner and bottle packages for an all-inclusive New Year’s Eve celebration. All seatings receive a complimentary glass of Champagne and a 50 percent discount on an optional open bar package for a wild afterparty. The rooftop terrace will gaze out over the Las Vegas Strip for primo views of midnight fireworks." - Jennifer Smith

"Just like the views, the vibes at Jingle Bar inside the Foundation Room come out on top. The cocktail series is full of cheeky names and inventive recipes. Go for the You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out, Kid coconut coquito made with Captain Morgan rum, three types of milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon, or even a warm 5:30, Jazzercize mulled wine made of red wine, brandy, honey, fresh orange slices, cloves, cinnamon, and star anise. Each cocktail is available for $22 and is available through December 28, with closures on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day." - Jennifer Smith

"After a two-week pause, I'm noting that the 81-year-old La Jolla institution is reopening on Wednesday, October 5 with a Studio UNLTD–designed 30-seat lounge at the center of the restaurant meant to attract a younger clientele; the new Lounge at the Marine Room will have its own exclusive food and drink offerings, a separate reservation system and a $100-per-person minimum for a two-hour dining experience. Executive chef Mike Minor, who took over the kitchen in 2021 and also oversees culinary operations at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club and the Shores Restaurant, brings more than 25 years of experience from Las Vegas (including work with Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken at Border Grill in Mandalay Bay) and is injecting a slice of Vegas nightlife and indulgence into the oceanfront restaurant. His dedicated lounge menu features caviar service, dry-aged bluefin tuna carpaccio with black winter truffles, beef tenderloin tartare with bone marrow butter, and a caviar-topped surf-and-turf of Hokkaido scallop and kurobuta pork belly, while new cocktails include an Old Fashioned with wagyu-infused whiskey and the Sunset View (Plantation Pineapple rum, coconut syrup, lime, and strawberry). The Marine Room will continue serving its existing menu—updated with specials from Minor—in the traditional dining areas Wednesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., with the lounge open the same days from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and its unequaled beachfront setting has for decades drawn restaurantgoers to La Jolla." - Candice Woo
