WOW this is an amazing brewery. They do all the brewing on site. The outdoors seating is so nice with great views. If you like sports they have plenty of televisions to watch your favorite team. You definitely have to make a trip here to see how beautiful this place is. The brussel sprouts were amazing. We had a great time and a great server.

Google
Founders Brewing Co. has a very nice taproom. The menu is fairly broad and includes salads, bowls, skillets, burgers, and platters. For those with celiac, they have gluten free options highlighted on the menu. Mentioned this to Hannah our waitress and she found the recipe had changed and made an alteration to our order. Also vegetarian options highlighted on menu. The beer selection is good as you would expect. Music a bit loud and not to my taste, but not a huge problem. Waitstaff very attentive. Great place for a meal.

Google
Breweries are not my go to thing but I tagged along because my husband and dad wanted to go. Everything got the “I want to return” ratings… the beers, the food (looks simple but flavorful) , the service, and the atmosphere. Highly recommend, especially if it’s your first day in the city visiting.

Google
When in Grand Rapids it is a must to go to Founders. This is large restaurant with good service and beer. Lots of merchandise if you want to buy something. Parking is a little weird with having to drive by the place and down another street. I really liked the beer flights to try all of different beers.

Google
This is one of the best Brew Pubs I have visited. The Dirty Bastard Scottish Ale is excellent. The building is huge and has a wide selection of seating indoors and outdoors. There are 3 bars. I enjoyed the fried cheese curds.

Google
Very nice place, it is a little higher in price, but it is all craft beers so it's to be expected!! The people were very kind and even offered a sample of what I was looking at to drink before I actually ordered it so that was really nice!! You can sit inside or outside, but can still be out of the direct sunlight which was super nice!! The place is done up very nicely!! I look forward to going back and would definitely recommend it to others!!

Google
Went for my bday lunch as a surprise. I was really excited to try it..although we are not beer drinker. We ordered wings, nacho fries bowl, Dirty Shirley and I'm lemonade. Drinks were ok nothing exciting, lemonade was good. The nachos were messy and kind of gross looking but ok. Wings were ok not as expected: disappointed..I expected more taste and sauce but they were small wings. The place is absolutely beautiful and huge. Plenty of seating in and outdoors. Great for big families and crowds. Got there in the afternoon so it wasn't too busy. Our server was amazing and polite. But I personally wouldn't return for drinks or food. I expected more than I thought. Sad disappointment after all the bday excitement but Overall a nice place and location downtown in front of the bus station. No place to paid street parking.

Google
Validated parking! INCREDIBLE food. Friendly staff! We always love going to Founders when family comes into town. Heres a picture of their Buddha Bowl with Chicken and Tofu. Somehow tastes better than it looks.

Yelp
Grand Rapids in knows for their beer so it was on our list to try a few local places. Every person that lived in the area suggested Founders and I can see what the hype is about. The building is massive. It has numerous bars and an outdoor patio. We opted to sit inside because we spent a few hours outside previously. The wait staff were great. Everyone was very friendly and knew their stuff. Very informative and attentive. Their selection of beer is massive so there is something for everyone. I went with the grapefruit beer and it was fantastic. Their food is also good. We had the kids sized Mac and cheese which was perfect. I see why Founders is at the top of everyone's list. It was worth venturing to it

Yelp
I recently got my wisdom teeth out so I've been on a mac and cheese kick lately... but this mac and cheese from Founders was imMACulate! I got their porky mac which had pulled pork, green onions and scallions drizzled with BBQ sauce. My friend got their special feature today: Tex Mex mac and cheese. This bowl was seasoned with ground beef, pickled jalepeño, fried onions, scallions and chipotle crema. We both agreed that their house cheese sauce is the best we've ever had! If you ever crave mac and cheese, this is the place to go! Honestly I wasn't a big fan of their menu before, but since they revamped their menu, I've definitely enjoyed the food more! I did a take out order and it only took 10 minutes for them to make it. I also enjoy how friendly the staff are and will be coming back soon!

Yelp
Founders brewery has always been a place I enjoyed stopping inn while visiting the west side of the state. Unfortunately the state of the service has slowly deteriorated. The first time I visited Founders was 5 years ago. That first visit was wonderful. Great food, service and beer selection. The wait was only 5 minutes and it was packed. This last visited 50% of the tables were empty and they were really short staffed as well. They told us a 15 to 20 minute wait and they only had 2 people ahead of us. 45 minutes later we got seated. I like renovations and design changes plus the beer selections to be honest but the service and menu items disappointed. I believe that Founders just got to big to quick and lost that local love and charm putting the customer first. I'm hoping for Founders Brewery comeback going forward.

Yelp
Great brewery located in Downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Founders Brewing Company was founded in Michigan since 1997 and ranks as one of the top breweries in the country. Awesome. They have a great selection of all types of beer, wine and cocktails. I ordered the refreshing lemonade spritzer cocktail. Yum. The Whipped Feta appetizer is FIRE! Order this! I also ordered the Unwedged Salad...yummy! The building is beautiful inside and out with parking in the garage or along the side street. If you park in the lot, they will stamp your ticket for free parking. Although I went when it was snowing, I noticed they have a nice outdoor seating area. The indoor areas are large and spacious with a bar in each area. Our server was friendly and helpful, offering their recommendation on certain drinks and main courses. I really enjoyed myself and hope to make it back next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
Stopped at Founders for dinner last night and tried out their newer food menu- I was super intrigued by the parmesan chicken, since Founders has never struck me as a chicken parm kinda place, but I ended up opting for the porky mac, and lord help me, it was so delicious! I loved the sweet barbecue sauce and the green onions and the bacon, OH MY. It was fantastic. I had two stouts for beers- the Stroopwaffel and the Pecan Pie. They were amazing- I love sweeter stouts, but don't like the barrel aged taste, and neither of these were barrel aged, or had the bourbony taste some stouts do. Also shoutout to our server last night, she was probably the quickest service I've ever had there!

Yelp
We were in town, so of course we had to come to Founders. We came in on a Sunday for lunch and a flight each. I got to select my dark beers and my husband went for the pales and IPAs. For lunch, I ordered the KBS Burger. A wonderful combination of a 1/3 pound burger with KBS onion bacon jam, lettuce, tomato, garlic mayo, smoked gouda on a brioche bun. OMG the flavor! I chose wisely. It came with seasoned fries which were a tasty accompaniment to my burger and beer. Side note, that onion bacon jam made with their KBS (Kentucky Bourbon Stout) is so delicious! My husband went for the Southwest Salad. It included greens, tomato, black beans, corn salsa, Colby Jack, avocado, and red onion. He opted to add some chicken in there and said it went well with the cilantro lime dressing. Sunday is free street parking, so that was a bonus. We had a great server who chatted with us about the beers and other topics.

Yelp
Walked in here on a random Saturday and found out that there was a wait unless you had some type of a reservation. Therefore, you could not get to a table, but you could sit at the bar at the other room if there were seats available. Luckily there were seats available for a group of six. Pretty standard a little bit limited, considering that it is. Meaning that I expected to see multiple options of fries beyond just poutine fries. I also expected to see more options for the sandwiches, the handheld and entrées as well, considering that I looked around the room it wasn't just meant for partying as there were lots of families and children there Pretty impressive as far as the scale, the building the ambience, the indoor outdoor seating as well. So this is definitely a must stop. I'm not sure about the parking here as we walked here and there is a bus station directly across the street OK, however I probably probably expected more considering that Grand Rapids seems to be a burgeoning tourist town

Yelp
I hadn't been to Founders in over two years, which is really wild because I used to go there biweekly with my old coworkers and have seen lots of live music there over the past decade+. A friend wanted to meet there for lunch, so I was interested to see how things are now. They have changed things up in the past few years and now they have a host that seats you for table service. I personally prefer this model, as I can't count how many times we'd have to awkwardly hover around a table that looked like they were getting ready to cash out. They've also changed their menu quite a bit, and got rid of my favorite items (RIP, Godfather, Detroit ham and cheese, French bread pizzas, blushing monk salad, etc.). New menu additions include larger plate entrees (like a honey glazed salmon for $28) and a few dessert options. I wasn't super blown away by any of the options so I went with the BLAT with a side salad instead of fries. Our server was really nice and paid attention to refills etc. and knew the menu pretty well. The sandwich was fine, certainly not the best I've had, but the bacon was thick. Overall, my impression of the "new" Founders was good, but nothing really made the visit stand out so much that I want to go back right away.

Yelp
Brewery #261 Founder's is one of those mega craft brewers that you can get almost anywhere in the country. They specialize in stouts but they brew all kinds of stuff. Their facility in Grand Rapids is huge and that includes their ginormous taproom/restaurant. We had just had lunch so we went up to the very nice long bar and each got a flight. The place was super busy but the beertenders were friendly and efficient. There are no flight boards so you just order the number of samples you want. I got 4, oddly none of which were stouts. I got 3 IPA's and a wheat beer. All of them were solid. Founders is cool but it's not like visiting a small local brewery, this place is on the scale of damn near Miller or Coors. Keep that in mind when you visit.
google avatar

Yelp
A classic stop while in Grand Rapids! My mom and I came in just for a pre-dinner beer, and both got flights which were a fun way to each try 4 5oz pours at $2.50 each (regardless of selection)! I enjoyed trying two taproom exclusives, which is probably the best part of visiting. It's just kind of fun to be able to try beers that I'm not going to find on shelves back home. My pours: - All Day Twist (exclusive); All Day with citrus forward hops and a kiss of lemon and lime - Centennial IPA - Azacca (exclusive); IPA with a touch of caramel malt with intense tropical fruit notes - Nitro Oatmeal Stout I enjoyed my whole flight! Got a couple that I know I love and of the exclusives, really enjoyed the All Day Twist. Merch store on site as well, with decent options. My mom ended up getting a nice zip up hoodie.
google avatar

Jana L.

Yelp
Food was alright. Standard pub fare and nothing especially noteworthy... pretty good fries if I remember correctly though. It's a brewery though - so you come for the beer!! I came for the Oatmeal Breakfast Stout on nitro which was absolutely fantastic and still one of my favorite beers! Soooo much better freshly pulled than in the bottle (which so still love). We are from VA so there were a few beers on tap that I had never heard of or found locally which were great to try: I really enjoyed the MI Pilsner and the Red's Rye IPA - I think those might only be available in Michigan so definitely give them a try!

Yelp
I'm an alcoholic from California. Loved Founders when I still drank, so on a random visit to Grand Rapids I was stoked to come here with friends. The bar tenders were all super kind and on it with a large crew of Phish fans in town. They also make a mean Arnold Palmer. Thank you for just giving it to me
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
If you find yourself in Grand Rapids and don't go to Founders, I think you're doing Michigan wrong. Their All Day IPA is my go-to beer down here in Illinois, but I enjoy the opportunity to check out some of their other brews that aren't so readily available in my local market. I feel like Founders is a gold standard for brewing, but that's not to discount their food. Holy cow. Anything I have ever ordered there has been absolutely amazing. Just go with whatever your server tells you is good that day, or their favorite thing on the menu and get it. You won't be disappointed. The restaurant can get busy, so just be patient. I promise they are doing their best to get you your food and drinks. Sit and chill, people watch, whatever your jam is. You're going to have a great time. If it's super busy, just like anywhere else, if you're in a hurry, maybe just come back another time.
google avatar

Shannon W.

Yelp
I knew the old Founders Brewery and I loved it. The new Founder's isnt a bad place to be. I still love the ambiance. The sad thing is the food choices were not my favorite. I'm glad they still kept the beer cheese dip. Besides that, most of the meals just look okay. Personally the price doesn't reflect quality. I miss the salads and sandwiches that they used to have. Service is still great when i was there. If I come back to Founders, it's for the amazing beers that they brew!
google avatar

Mark H.

Yelp
Founders has a really big and very nice taproom. Great selection of beer. Food menu looked good but we only were there for drinks. Nice friendly service. This is a good goto spot when friends visit from out of town.
google avatar

Yelp
Hundreds of Hops Stop #13 on our zself-guided Hop Passport Tour. Beer 5, Service 5, Atmosphere 4 Founders is always going to put out a solid 5 star brew, no need to worry about quality when heading here. They do get busy, and I mean BUSY - so, arrive early to avoid the overcrowding. Be sure to check their website. They are also on reduced hours, with the kitchen being remodeled & will soon close temporarily for the remodel completion. Meanwhile, they do have food trucks, and it smelled of smoky bbq as we walked up. Servers are efficient and work as a team if you belly up to the bar. They interacted well with each other and patrons. I'm thrilled we had the opportunity to come in before they closed up temporarily.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
The beer was good, but the food was fairly average. Although the place is spacious with many open tables, we were seated outside despite the cool weather, and the heaters were not functioning. Our server was preoccupied with sweeping and not very attentive, so it took a while to get another drink.
google avatar

Zayda I.

Yelp
new menu delicious and different. Vegan choices and seasonal too. Will love to see more live music.
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
The food is always good here, I miss the pizza but everything here is good that I have tried. The tables are always clean and ready for the next customer. I cannot wait to try more beer there oat stout is smooth and perfect will try their other beers next time.
google avatar

Charles M.

Yelp
Excellent Beer. Decent good. Good ambience. Legendary in brewing. Don't mind the servers whispering about the coworkers they hate.
google avatar

Jeff G.

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance, and location were excellent. We had a short visit and ordered a flight and their chili. Loved the chili and the stout beer. Founders has a huge selection of beers and the food is good quality. I also felt I received a lot of food for the price.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
It has been a while since I have felt compelled to review a place. I had very high expectations with its 4 stars with 1K+ reviews. And typically, a brew house will make some serious good food in their own brewery. Today was a lesson in that not being true. Very, very average food and drink. I made a mistake with the Parmesan Chicken, for it had the flavor profile and food quality of a TV dinner. The chicken looked like a too small hat on the head of a portion of pasta. Chicken was a hair away from being rubbery and the sauce was equal to what ya find in a HS cafeteria. I mean, other than it being presented on a plate, you would have been fooled into thinking you where back in HS or college heating up a frozen meal ya got for $3.99 in the frozen dinner aisle. No idea what the rest of the offerings where, as I was a solo playing on this trip. Founders was one of the great early craft brewers, but, like a lot of early greats, they rested upon their lore and history, but don't create any liquid that is truly moving. It is very average, so it that is your palette, it will be a bulls eye. But this visit only confirmed that this brewery will be my go to when my only other option is a Bud or Hams. Everything that I tried, accept for the KBS, was only available at the tap room and that is why I went. All of the 7 beers I had in my flights, not now could break the 3.75 out of 5. The space is nice and huge. Plus side, Jake was a good bartender. Though he did not hook me up with the happy hour deal ($2 off) on full pints of some reason.
google avatar

Megan H.

Yelp
Huge patio for summer that also has a fire pit so great for the fall too. Many beers to choose from that are all delicious and the food is always fresh and delish.
google avatar

Kristin H.

Yelp
A great brewery in the Grand Rapids area. Good selection of beer, most everyone should be able to find something they enjoy. This stop was a quick lunch stop and although the menu is a challenge for someone with dietary restrictions, enjoyed our meals.
google avatar

Leslie L.

Yelp
I'm so glad to be here. What a wonderful taproom and restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere We ate the big pretzel and added the beer cheese sidecar. Delicious!!! My hubby and I shared it. I was so happy they had my favorite founders beer on tap. It's not that great in a bottle. Service was friendly and we were served quickly.
google avatar

Claire M.

Yelp
You can't visit Grand Rapids without going to Founders Brewing, so obviously this was our first stop upon reaching the city. We were seated out on the expansive patio immediately - I love the outdoor space! Our servers were friendly and quick to get us our beer. I got the porter and my husband got an IPA - both good, as expected! We sat out on the patio for a while, just enjoying the outdoor space and chatting. The food also looked really good here, but we weren't quite ready for dinner yet. Happy that Founders lived up to the hype!
google avatar

Kamran S.

Yelp
Great service. Beer was OK. Food was very poor. Devil Dancer sandwich was dry, lacked much flavor. Crispy chicken sandwich on spongy dry bin with heavy dosing of an overly bitter, poor honey mustard. The soft pretzel with beer cheese dip was good. Ambiance feels like an Applebee's.
google avatar

Michaela B.

Yelp
Matt (our server) was great with knowledge and recommendations, down to the order of which beer to drink first in each of our flights! The pretzel was great and the beer cheese worth the small extra charge. Sitting on the patio was perfect in fall, with enough coverage to not have the sun beat down, but open enough that the breeze was just perfect! Plus the fresh hopps all around, it was fantastic.
google avatar

Nick T.

Yelp
One of the best breweries around. Food it great and outside seating is great year round...Fire places. Dog friendly outside.
google avatar

Luayy A.

Yelp
I have to say wow that founders really changed the expanded their facility and taproom they expand the menu. I was blown away by the fact that they had the kitchen and more seating area when I used to go to founders it was just the taproom and it was very limited food and now that I visit again, I am born away by the service and they really try to work hard to get everything right. I am glad to say that founders is the best brewing company and also they have amazing food and Grand Rapids is looking for a jolly good time. Well you found it
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
We came in at 11:00 AM on Sunday morning for some brunch and brew. I was so excited to try Founders as I have known them by reputation for awhile as a hotspot for beer. I also had the opportunity to try their Rubeus beer before coming here, and was impressed. I had to order a flight and try more. In order of my preference: Green Zebra, Jambassador, All Day Vacay, Barrel Aged Blueberry Braggot. All of these were great, and they were easy to distinguish from one another. I also ordered a Blackened Chicken Caesar Wrap. This was very refreshing-their grilled chicken with the greens was the right way to start the day. We owe a shoutout to our waitress Kate- she was knowledgeable about specific Founder's beers and we enjoyed talking beer with her. We even got to sample something new. We both left very impressed with Founder's-their beers cover a lot of range and flavor profiles. We will be on the hunt for them in our home state. When you come to the Founder's tap house, don't forget to stop at their gift shop! I got myself a few things, and I would have left with a couple of beers if we didn't have a flight to catch. Outstanding beer, service and experience. This is a must do, especially for anyone who is new to Michigan!
google avatar

Owen R.

Yelp
this place is awesome massive spot tons of great beer and food downtown Grand Rapids was great
google avatar

Kurt G.

Yelp
Love the vibe of the neighborhood and all the transformations. Still hard to find parking but you can some if you are lucky. The bus station is across the street so can take the bus to your home. I like to take the bus so I can sample different beers. The servers now come to your table. Lots of food options.
google avatar

Tommy B.

Yelp
Wings was flavored good and with good buffalo sauce , cake wasn't dry considering it came out of fridge. Waitress was slow on attending to our table , but she was nice.
google avatar

Kristina D.

Yelp
Love the indoor/outdoor seating options! The beer menu has a lot of nice options also. I also ordered whipped feta and it was delicious!! Perfect amount of kristinis for the whipped feta! A couple of thick slices but good thing my friend Tommy likes them thick ! Lol Our waitress is super attentive and caters to our needs!! The canopy outside is amaquing thank uiu
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
The food is great and so is the beer. Plenty of seating inside and out. The service is usually pretty good and the waitresses are attentive. Although there are some great ones, Founders remains one of my favorites in GR.
google avatar

Summer F.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience here. The food has evolved quite a bit over the past year, and I think it is getting worse with each menu change. The prices are going up, but the ingredients seem cheaper and have less flavor than before. We tried the poutine which was super salty and bland. My friend had the burger and found it to be overcooked and the fries were room temperature at best. I had the Parmesan chicken and regret this choice because it was just ok and definitely needed seasoning. I can see what they are doing with the new look, but I miss the warm and friendly feel this location originally had. The beers were good as always, but service here is hit or miss and has definitely been a "miss" for us the last few times we stopped in. This was a place we enjoyed, but I think our time here is done and we won't be back.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
We went to Founder's on a Saturday and it was pretty busy! It was very open, like a large food hall. Almost every table was filled up. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere. We were seated right away and our server was very knowledgeable of the beers/menu. I ordered the Jambassador and it was great! It was a slightly sweet blueberry beer with a hint of ginger. For my entree, I got the devil dancer sandwich add tomato. We got the whole sandwich and split it. It was more than enough! The sandwich was very tasty, slightly spicy (because of the jalapeños), and the spicy mayo was great! We added Mac and cheese as the side, and it was very underwhelming. It wasn't cheesy enough. There were crunchy onions on top and I really liked that flavor with the Mac and cheese.
google avatar

Nick G.

Yelp
4/5 only bc I'm comparing it to others In the city & its solely preference. The place is HUGE, with 2 bars and ample seating areas plus nice outdoor area. This is solely a BEER PLACE, so if you love beer come Here.. the vibes inside are brewery and like German beer hall! Not new and modern! From Stouts, IPA, LAGER to sours. They have them all and a lot of options are actually brewed here!! They have a good happy hour and a 3.00 draft beer (rotates to what it is, ask your server)! Service is average but they were busy! Indoors isn't too loud and the main bar has like 50 seats! What we ordered: - 1 vanilla stout - 1 Solid gold Both tasted great, we didn't order the food but the selection was very small! I'd recommend eating elsewhere! Large gift shop inside too, If you are looking for a souvenir to take home!

Yelp
Consuming an entire city block near downtown Grand Rapids... is the one and only Founders Brewing. As you approach the steps of the restaurant and bar portion... there is eclectic street art and murals everywhere. The area and around the brewery itself seems very clean considering their closeness to downtown. Overall we all really enjoyed our experience. I got the garden salad and added chicken to stay on the low carb side of things... it was nice to wander in and find drinks on tap and food that accommodates my keto diet! The service was great, ambiance was great, place was clean, company was good and the drinks were even better. If you're in the GR area, add founders to your list! They're worth a stop for lunch or dinner.
google avatar

Leila R.

Yelp
Enjoyed my visit to the largest brewery in MI (surpassing Bell's in 2018). This behemoth is a presence in Grand Rapids, and a must visit if you're looking to try some of their lesser available brews. They even have special only available in the taproom pours and bottles! The space has that old timey watering hole feel, but while the decor is rustic, it's modern where it counts. They have a great little cheatsheet for the aspiring beer novice that is an educational and navigational tool when perusing their offerings. The menu was expansive, curated, and perfect for someone who enjoys sampling their heftier abv selections. The entire experience was great from the bar, to the beers, to the staff. An institution in and of itself! Beers Had: 4 Giants IPA 9.2% Barrel Runner IIPA 11.1% Brandankulous DIPA 11.7% Dankwood Imperial Red 12.2%
google avatar

Curt H.

Yelp
This was my first stop at Founders and surely will not be my last. I've had their beers all over the country fir years but hadn't yet been to the Mothership... Huge beer selection for nearly ever type from big to little IPA's, Stouts, Ales and even Gose. It was open mic night and the talent was off-the-charts. Add in some very good smoked wings and I was all set! Oh also $2 off crowler night, so some of what I liked came home with me.
google avatar

Jennie L.

Yelp
A favorite of ours! I love the beer flights! The appetizers are amazing as is all the food! Matt, our server was amazing, I wanted to take him home!
google avatar

Norm C.

Yelp
This is a flagship beer at home so it was a treat to visit the brewery and it did not disappoint. Loads if seating and a huge main bar with another bar on the patio. Service was great. Fast and friendly. Of course the beers were great. The food was amazing. I had the pastrami sandwich and mac n cheese. So tasty. This is a must stop if in GR.

Yelp
TL;DR If you can't find a beer here you like, you're the problem. Everyone in our group got a different beer, with me opting for a the French Toast Bastard. Bourbon barrel-aged ale with maple syrup, cinnamon and sweet vanilla. Oh my was this incredibly good. If it wasn't for the 11 ABV and me being the D.D., I would have had a couple. To offset the buzz we order appetizers of chips and guacamole and chicken wings. Both were excellent. If I lived in Grand Rapids, I would frequent here. The server was very attentive and helpful.

Yelp
Downhill! This place is no longer recommended by me. It's really too bad. I used to come here weekly. I'm done. The menu has not changed for the better. (So you have fries now. Ok. Not impressed.) The staff used to be happy and friendly and now they are short with you and seem miserable. Maybe because they don't have enough staff. They are so understaffed that it took 45 minutes to get cold fries , our appetizer, so we didn't order the rest of our meal. The parking lot has a two-hour limit which we almost missed due to the slow service. I complained but was told "hopefully it will be better next time."The beer line seemed to never move. (I watched from a seat at the bar.) I'm not sure if they have been bought-out by a new corporation or what, but it's just not the cool place it used be. Buy their beer in the grocery store and miss this, hateful place.

Yelp
I have been going to Founders regularly for years. I have been there twice since the reopen, and it has been at best mediocre. The first time I had the burger, which was adequate, but nothing above that. The buffalo chicken dip was a nice addition to the menu. I went again tonight and it was a sad day. The beer cheese, which was close to the platonic form of beer cheese, was a definite downgrade from a month ago. Instead of being served with delicious hunks of toasted bread, it was served with premade crostini from a bag. It was one of the saddest moments of my life. The chicken sandwich was overdone. The food at this time is a noticeable downgrade from before the renovation. It's still the same great beer, but they need to figure out the food, and bring back the old beer cheese platter. To the new executive chef, In the immortal words of Billy Madison, "YOU BLEW IT!!!"

Yelp
Today, 16 July 2023, my family and I ate lunch at Founders Brewing at Gerald Ford International Airport, Grand Rapids, MI. What a great choice!! Madonna was our waiter and bartender--was terrific! I asked about the raspberry ale, and Madonna let me sample it and another ale. Both ales were tasty. The service just kept getting better and better! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries (it's originally served with chips, my sister ordered the chicken strips, and my niece order the chicken barbecue flatbread. We also ordered a margarita on the rocks with salt and a tequila sunrise to drink. If you happen to be traveling through the Gerald Ford airport, stop by Founders Brewing Restaurant for bite to eat and a drink!!

Yelp
Founders x Gordon Food Service: Applebees Rising REVIEW AFTER REOPEN I'm all for changing up menus. I'm all for renovations. I love new flavors. They promised new flavors that would impress. Instead we have standard fair, straight from the kitchen at Gordon Food Service. Flavors are bland and completely uninspired. Whereas the wide selection of sandwiches before had flair and personality, now we have pot roast masquerading as "cheesesteak." We have new choices: chicken and avocado, chicken and bacon, or bacon and avocado. There are also expensive entrees, including what looks to be braised pot roast, glazed salmon (I'm at a brewery, folks), and a few others. The beer cheese dropped so drastically in bread quality that my partner and I laughed. Crostini? Yes, from a plastic bag labeled "Gordon Food Services's Big Bag of Crostini." As for atmosphere, we now have a giant host stand splitting the building. That's fine- they needed a host stand. But it feels corporate and cold. I think they were aiming for upscale, but instead hit "boring with no character." The life force of this place is bleeding out. I'm sad.
