"Located just west of downtown, Foundry is a winery with roots in fine art — its owners are world-renowned sculpture fabricators, and the tasting room includes a gallery, a sculpture garden, and a design shop. If there were no wine here, Foundry would still be a Walla Walla highlight for its innovative exhibitions, but the wine has a creative streak too. Highlights include a crisp un-oaked chardonnay, and the “Pét Project” — three types of sparkling wine done in the pétillant-naturel style (an old method of bottling wine that is only partially fermented). On Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings you can work out the kinks with yoga classes in the beautiful gallery." - Matthew Lombardi

Google
I really struggled with the rating for this winery. The facility was top notch: a really clean and slick design with lovely art and really cool displays. The staff is very professional and friendly, no complaints at all about them. The wine, though, was just not to my taste at all. We were told the winemaker's approach was to add as little as possible to the wine, which I assume includes traditional agents like isenglass. While that would probably make the organic or health food loving section of the market segment blissfully happy, I personally see 'healthy' as a bit of an odd bedfellow for alcohol. The taste was just not for me, no insult intended to the winemaker. The facility does have less traffic than others in the area though and is lovely, so I don't regret taking a chance on it.

The staff here are incredibly friendly. The patio was great. It started to rain a little while we were there, but each table had a large umbrella so we didn't get wet. There were some neat sculptures around the patio and the entrance. I enjoyed the pat nat wine tasting, I've never tried that style of wines before.

Google
Avery fun winery with some astounding art. We enjoyed seeing all the different mediums of their art gallery and can’t wait to go back for one of their wine and art events! The selection of wine is wonderful and it’s very easy to get lost in your favorite glass while viewing through the gallery. The outdoor tasting room is very welcoming in fair weather as well!

Google
Foundry does a lot of things very well, but I recommend exploring their Artisanal Series of reds with some cellaring on them. Many great winemakers have come through Foundry, and this is your opportunity to experience them.

Google
Zoe and staff handled our wedding in a fantastic and professional manner. Very good attention to detail and was extremely communicative throughout the entire process. Would recommend the venue for any event they offer and overall just a great spot to check out and enjoy some fantastic wine!

Google
Fantastic, fruit-forward wine!! I was very impressed with the wine, the modernity of the space, and the friendliness of the staff. They are very dog friendly and even played with my pup while I went to the restroom. The staff is so sweet and we really enjoyed our time. I hope to be back soon!

Google
We are in Walla Walla for 3 days doing wine tastings, and Foundry was by far our favorite wines and experience. Every wine we tried was delicious. I’ve done wine tasting trips before, but had never joined a wine club. All 3 of us joined their wine club. Katie was our server- she was excellent and knowledgeable. The outdoor space is lovely and very large. Beautiful sculptures throughout the patio and winery. They have a lot of locally made goods to buy- jewelry, food items etc. The wine tastings we had after going to Foundry were somewhat disappointing, so maybe save it for last.

Yelp
First time here and were not disappointed. We came in for a tasting and sat down in a cute like gallery setting. We had Danielle, who was fantastic. She too the time to explain the wines and the background of the winery. She so friendly and welcoming. We ended up doing a flight and the. Left with two bottle of wine! The tasting room is electric but cool at the same time. We really enjoyed our time and would come back in the future!

Yelp
My oh my! Hands down one of my favorite wineries in Walla Walla. The combination of an art gallery and wine sets this winery apart from the others. The wines are absolutely yummy and the customer service top notch. Both indoor and outdoor areas for wine tasting, depending on the weather. If you are in the area, do not miss this winery!

Yelp
Excellent wine, service, and venue! Surround yourself with art while you take in the chill vibes between sips.

Yelp
We two visited on a weekday during COVID-19 Phase 2 restrictions. Reservations required, and there were few other customers -- which made it an especially wonderful almost-private experience for us. Definitely worth the visit for the different experience: a combination of art and wine. Two plus two equals five in this case, as the wine by itself--though decent--would not prompt a visit from us. AMBIANCE: 4.5. The presence of amusing art inside and outside creates a fun experience. We brought lunch and had it with our tasting outside on a nicely-shaded table. Gentle misters can be turned on to help keep one cool if needed. Toward the end of our tasting we met one of the winery owners, so were able to learn first-hand how decades earlier the family had established a foundry that cast pieces for artists from around the world, and had later expanded into wine-making. SERVICE: 5.0. Very attentive and considerate. Though we ended up not bringing our dog, they remembered that I had inquired (weeks earlier) if dogs were allowed and so had a doggy bowl of cold water waiting near our table. Thoughtful. WINE: 3.0. Good value for the $10 tasting fee, which is modest compared to the other places we visited. The Artisan blend was fun.

Yelp
We stopped by the tasting room at the suggestion of The Walls just down the street. We were not disappointed. Wonderful staff that were knowledgeable and personable but not pushy. We did the "bubbles" tasting- three bubbly varieties. We loved the first option (took home two bottles) and while the other two weren't really our thing, many people seemed to be enjoying them. We also did the five tasting option and were surprised by the depth of choices. You can enjoy a tasting or a glass while looking at the rotating art exhibits throughout the venue. A little outside of downtown but well worth the 5 minute drive. We'll be back on our next trip out east.

Yelp
Visited a week ago and had a lovely time! Their space is enormous, which made me feel mush safer during a pandemic than the in-town tasting spaces. Staff were informative and friendly. I love the artwork and the gift shop featuring locally-made items. The wines were interesting. I purchased a couple of bottles to give as gifts to friend who will appreciate their eco-conscious ethos. Love that they have a downtown Seattle location as well! Overall, an interesting, family-owned business and a great space (wonderful for rental events). Don't miss it if you're in town.

Yelp
beautiful winery in an up and coming neighborhood. kind of surprising to turn the corner and see this place there. it looks like it belongs in napa. we tried 4 wines for $15 each. the pours were generous and all the selections they made were delicious. they are working on going full organic on their wines, which I found interesting. the property had art all over from various local artists. they had a pamphlet that explained each one and the materials used and the artist info. the patio was spacious and relaxing as well. our server, danielle, was so knowledgeable on all the wines she presented as well as the whole walla walla valley. she really impressed us and we had a nice experience with her. I enjoyed this winery a lot and highly recommend you stop by and visit if you're in walla walla!

Yelp
By far my favorite tasting room during my visit to Walla Walla. I called ahead to make sure there wasn't a wedding because this place can be used for such events. When we arrived they had already prepared a space for us and the person I called (Ryan) was ready to give us some great tastings. While tasting we walked through the gallery, there were many fun pieces to see while sipping on wine. Another person also helped us (Heather) and she continued the trend of fantastic and friendly service. We ended up really enjoying the wines there and signed up for a membership. Natalie was super helpful with this process and made sure we got everything just right. Fantastic place, great wine and good people.

Yelp
We went here two different days and had two totally different experiences. 1st time, they said they had a party coming in but we could drink at the bar. So we drank at the bar. After a few minutes the host said the for-mentioned party was super late, so she seated us and we had a great time! Everyone's as really nice! We had such a great time we all agreed to go back the next day. When we arrived it was different people working and they also said there was a party reservation today as well. So we thought "let's just by a few bottles and head to the next place" when we go back to the counter the lady says the bottle we want is sold out and walks away. No offer of different options or even polite response, pretty rude. So our whole group went from it being our favorite experience to walking out saying WTF. Maybe she was just having a bad day but damn.

Yelp
Art & wine with amazing people!! This place is fantastic. Everything from wine to their stand alone glass building to variety to art, paintings, statues, skulls is well planned and well placed. Walla walla Summers are quite hot. Current temperatures are in the 110- 115 degrees daily. Unless it's air conditioned or have a massive patio, it's hard to stay in and taste the wine. This place does not have a shaded balcony but rather have a court yard. Perfect for sunbathing but impossible to sit and enjoy in this heat! That being said, I'm so glad I stopped by. First of all~ $5 tasting fees!! I still can't wrap my head around it. As an obsessive foodie, I go to Napa several times a year just for wine. Love the wine, love the taste, love the vineyards. But nothing is ever $35 or under for a tasting. I have no complaints about it either. Ok back to wine! We got to taste a total of seven to eight wine while conversing with the coolest guy ever! He was so nice, knowledgeable and knows everything about their wine, region and so on. I tasted a few whites and several reds. Heavy pours too. Even brought home some white and red back. No Rose though. They only have a limited number of bottles they release and they were sold out. Overall, I battled the 115 degrees weather the best way possible in this tasting room. Love the wine! Love the decor!! Friendly staffs definitely made this experience better. And that extremely reasonable $5 tasting fee can be waived with a bottle purchase!!! Can I move here? I'm packing my bags as we speak! :D

Yelp
One of our favorite stops. What makes it special: a very cool indoor art gallery and outdoor sculpture garden. The building has a clean, modern, desert aesthetic. The other thing, of course, the wines, which were consistently very good. It sounds like they are slowly converting to organic sourcing as it becomes possible, as well. Tasting pours are generous, and servers were reasonably knowledgeable. We were offered choices of three flights (sounds like there are not always these choices, but in addition to the standard flight there was a choice of all whites/roses and a flight of all sparkling. I think the August heat played a role in that.) The COVID-era seating was socially distanced and comfortable - plus we were outside, with the benefit of a mister and awning to keep it cool. We bought a couple of our favorite bottles ($20-$40 range and well-priced there for the quality) and the tasting fee was waived. They also had a delicious, generous serving of castelveltrano green olives for $7. We enjoyed it - stopped up some of the wine at the end of an afternoon of tasting, and really cut through the tannins building up in my mouth, allowing us to really taste and enjoy the different flavor of each wine. (But if you don't like olives, you're out of luck for food, that's all them they have.)

Yelp
Foundry Vineyards is well-known for its wine, art gallery and sculpture garden. Less well-known is that they have yoga classes in the art gallery every Saturday morning and Tuesday night. I am mainly reviewing the Saturday morning class, as I am more familiar with it. I have heard Tuesday nights with Chrissy are amazing, so do give her a try. For two years, I have been taking Saturday morning classes with Rob Robinson. (He also gives lessons through Quest at Walla Walla Community College, Walla Walla Parks and Rec, and the YMCA, and I have taken his classes in some of those places as well). Rob is a patient and knowledgeable instructor, who leads us through one hour of an intermediate level vinyasa flow. He explains our practice well, and we have had beginners join in with no problem. We get an interesting mix of locals and visitors. Doing yoga in an art gallery is a totally new and unique experience, and is a terrific way to start the weekend. In my two years here, I have taken many yoga classes, and Rob is one of the best instructors in Walla Walla. If you like a classic flow class, in a unique and inspiring setting, you can do yourself a favor and drop in. Classes are $10 each. The folks at the Foundry Vineyard are so nice to deal with, I ended up becoming a member before a even tasted the wine (and when I did, it was GOOD). Rob and his wife Jeana, and the Foundry family are my yoga community, and a big part of why I love living in Walla Walla.

Yelp
My friend held her rehearsal dinner here, last weekend and I must say, this place is lovely! Really good wine, and such a beautiful and tasteful location. I loved the art and the sculptures, and don't miss the Osprey nest, just outside the outdoor area!

Kerry W.

Yelp
Beautiful space! Great wines and wonderful art exhibit. Knowledgeable staff of wines and the foundry history. Large outside patio. Definitely add to your list when visiting Walla Walla.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Great art. Friendly people. Nice wine. A good stop to make in Walla Walla.

Yelp
Just had a beautiful afternoon tasting at the Foundry. We love visiting because, of course, the wine (today the Rose was my favorite but they are all delicious), but also the art and the people. Reed and Natalie both were so fun to talk to and constantly checked in to see how we were doing. We even ended up joining the wine club because it is such a great place to bring visitors. If you are visiting Walla Walla, you can't go wrong with the Foundry.

STEPHANIE B.

Yelp
Such a great way to start off our day...on the patio at Foundry enjoying some bubbles! Thank you so much for a great experience. Will definitely visit again real soon!

Yelp
We used this place as our wedding reception venue (pre-COVID). The reception could not have gone better. The venue was beautiful, the staff were helpful, and the price was lower than all other venues we found that were of similar quality. We loved having our reception here and we highly recommend them!

Yelp
My favorite tasting room in Walla Walla! The wines were amazing. The tasting menu had 5 wines, but we tasted 7, all of which were great. My favorites were the Syrah Rosé, the 2015 Cabernet Franc, and the 2014 Artisan Blend. During the tasting our hostess Natalie gave us a tour of the gallery and the sculpture garden. They have a collection of sculptures made at the Walla Walla Art Foundry outside on the beautiful patio, and they had an art show in the gallery space. I would love to attend an event there. The service was phenomenal, everyone was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. It was great wines, an interesting space, and a fun experience. Thanks Foundry Vineyards!

Annemie W.

Yelp
Our hostess Natalie was amazing! The wine was good, the art was fantastic. Natalie made our experience wonderful. They were closing for a wedding but they still accommodated our group of six at the last minute and Natalie was so concerned that we had to wait for five minutes to get our tasting she bent over backwards to make our experience great!!

Amy L.

Yelp
Had such an amazing time at Foundry Vineyards! It's a bit of hidden gem, but when you find it, it's worth the effort! We tasted their new line of sparkling wines called Pet Project which were DELICIOUS, a great price point, and I have never tasted wines like that. Natalie and Heather were tons of fun, we were there for an hour! The art show was an beautiful Japanese print show. Love the art, love the vibe, and a great tasting room crew! Definitely a unique wine tasting experience.

Yelp
Over New Years weekend, a friend and I were treated to an amazing experience and great hospitality at the Foundry. After discovering this great wine the prior night at Whitehouse-Crawford, we were motivated to visit. We called to inquire if the Foundry was open, but were informed upon calling that it wasn't. As luck would have it though, the gentleman on the phone said since maintenance was being done on the building, we could drop in! Little did we know what kind of a treat we were in for. The "gentleman" on the phone just happened to be Squire Broel, co-owner and resident artist! We were provided a private tasting and tour of the sculpture park, with extensive information on the wine, the sculptures, and the art. We learned that pieces of Whitman College past were part of the installation, and in an unhurried manner we learned as much as one can about the philosophy and culture of a company that is dedicated to quality and creating something unique and amazing. Suffice it to say it was a peak experience in a busy weekend of great experiences. If you get the chance, please take the time to visit this unique business. You will have a great time and experience great art and great wine. You will get a chance to connect to people who are passionate about everything they are doing and creating. And of course, you are likely to leave with a few bottles of great wine to enjoy and to help you remember your visit. What can be better than that?!!!

Emily L.

Yelp
A wonderful experience completely encompassing Art +Wine. A beautiful marriage between the delicate art of winemaking and the beautiful fine arts. The Foundry is a combination tasting room and art gallery. Their wines are delicious. Whilst you are tasting you are free to stroll about the art gallery and sculpture garden. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and down to earth! A must see on any trip in Walla Walla.

John R.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the wines and hospitality at this place. We sat outside on the patio, which was very relaxing. There is kinetic sculpture that moves in a way is really unique (with a little wind). Inside, there is a gallery area with other fantastic art.

gary H.

Yelp
WOW! White On White Party at Foundry Vineyards was so much fun! This was our third year attending and it just gets better and better. Enjoying an evening under the stars, listening to wonderful music, eating fabulous food and sipping exceptional wines, and catching up with friends- perfect event! Thank-you Anderson Family! And the Tasting Room staff is awesome. A winery to visit often!

Christie R.

Yelp
Lovely wines and personable employees. We loved the white blend and Syrah. Interesting textile display in huge indoor old Foundry space. Great outdoor space which sees lots of events in the summer months. Located in a non-descript area east of downtown , but well worth a visit.

Jean S.

Yelp
Delicious wines. Liked the 2014 Cab and 2014 Malbec the best. Beautiful art to view while tasting. Friendly tasting room staff.

Craig W.

Yelp
Great wine and great art. This is a unique tasting experience surrounded by some of the best art in the world!

Afton O.

Yelp
My husband and I held a welcome dinner here at the beginning of our destination wedding weekend. Everything about the venue and the evening was absolutely perfect! Lisa was wonderful to work with while planning the event -- she was always very responsive via email, she had great recommendations/ideas, and she and the Foundry staff did an incredible job setting up all of the furniture and decor. All of the Foundry staff was so friendly and they were a great help in selecting our wine for the event. Foundry Vineyards has a great selection of wine! We really enjoyed visiting Foundry for wine tastings whenever we were in town. The venue itself is so unique and beautiful, from the art gallery indoors to the patio with incredible sculptures. We had a taco truck for our dinner that parked right inside the patio, as well as a band that played under the patio's awning. We are very grateful to Lisa and the other Foundry staff for a memorable evening!
