Restaurant Closings in the San Francisco Bay Area | Eater SF

"A small-batch Portola District craft brewery that also sold home-brewing kits and offered classes to DIYers, FDR Brewery confirmed via Instagram that it will close for good on December 31; the owners put remaining homebrew supplies at deep discounts and said beers would be available for pickup until 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve." - Eve Batey

Google
I stopped by Four Day Ray for dinner on my way through the area and was happy with my experience. I ordered two tasters of their beer and a dill pickle hot chicken sandwich. The beers were very clean and flavorful, and the quality was clear. The sandwich was spicy and bold with a unique flavor. Service was quick, and the place had a modern, sort of industrial-lite feel. I’m glad I gave them a try.

Google
We tried as much as we could! The sweet potato fries were delicious and the boneless Jamaican jerk wings were amazing. And I’m not a big wings person. I especially loved the blueberry blonde it was perfect! Definitely hope to be back.

Google
Good service and good food. I recommend their baller tots for a delicious house made appetizer and my husband would recommend their El Presidente’ burger with sweet potatoe fries. Fun atmosphere and plenty of seating options for different party sizes.

Google
Customer recommended a visit. We were seated on the second floor. The staff were good and helpful with ideas for food. Ordered some tacos and they were very good. Good views of the TVs and not too loud so you could have a conversation. Food came hot and ready to eat.

Google
It seems that reservations are recommended for dinner. We ended up sitting at the bar, good service, hot honey chicken tenders/fries were good and served with one of (if not) the best ranch dressings I've ever had. The menu offers variety and prices are in line for location and restaurant type.

Google
Unique drink selection, great food and outdoor seating. There are a lot of places like this in the suburbs of northern Indy so the concept isn’t unique, but this is one of the best.

Google
My family of four stopped in for a supper ahead of a concert at the Nickel Plate Amphitheater. We made reservations, which we were 15 minutes late for, but I called ahead and told them I'd be late...and the table was held and ready! Noisy place for an intimate conversation, but the restaurant was at capacity. Food was great. Service was decent. Looking forward to coming back and having more time to enjoy other beers on the menu.

Google
My new favorite with SK. Their blood orange blond is amazing, I could drink it all day! The food was just as good with a big selection. The tots are a must have! Bartender was very helpful and patient, even though we were there late on a Sunday. They also have a large second room for parties or overflow. I will definitely be back soon. 2nd visit just as good as the first! Tuna nachos are really good!

Yelp
We enjoy the fun vibes of this place. It's a great spot to come watch a game at. Good for date night, solo date, or a family meal. We really like the food here. Always tasty!

Yelp
I don't like leaving negative reviews for local businesses, but my experience today was frustrating enough that I felt it was important to share. I'm a big fan of this restaurant's mac & cheese, I buy it often at the Kindle Market and was genuinely looking forward to having it all day. As a vegetarian who also doesn't enjoy spicy foods, it's one of the few dishes I can reliably enjoy. When I arrived, I noticed the regular mac & cheese was only listed on the kids' menu, while the main menu offered it only with chiles. Since both versions were listed at the exact same price, I asked if I could order the plain version. I was repeatedly told no. I completely understand that the kids' menu is designed for children, but it was disappointing that an identical item at the same price wasn't allowed to be ordered by an adult, especially considering it's something I've purchased many times at the market and have recommended to others to try out when they go in. I work about a block away and have always recommended this place to my customers, but this experience left me genuinely disappointed. It may seem like a small issue, but it was something I had really been looking forward to, and the refusal felt unnecessarily rigid and harsh. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I'll no longer be recommending this location to others.

Yelp
Stopped in after a walk on the Nickle Plate trail. Casual atmosphere with a variety of offerings for really any taste you might be looking for. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the salad at a brewery for a fresh veggie packed option!

Yelp
We went to celebrate a family birthday at lunchtime. We did have reservations and got seated right away. It was a party of 7 "rowdy" seniors and our server Amber did a fantastic job of serving us and remembered every single order including special requests. Free parking was readily available on two sides of the street including a parking garage across the street. I had a strawberry jalapeño margarita which had just the right amount of kick and was delicious. I had three tacos. Two were the special of the week with chicken and avocado and mango and one pulled pork taco. It came with salsa and tortilla chips. All were quite tasty and fresh. No carryout today. I joined the "clean plate club". I would recommend all of my food today.

Yelp
Everything was so good we all left the restaurant uncomfortably full and I didn't wait to take photos. Because I wanted to try more things on the menu we did a halfsy split with one of the girls. Mushroom duxelles burger (it comes with goat cheese and havarti but I left off the havarti because I don't love cheese like that) and BBQ pork-- of the 2 the pork was my fav. Tried both the truffle fries and regular ..... truffle are worth the extra $3. We shared fried pickles which were deliciously abundant and even had left overs. Great place to go and sit and enjoy yummy food. Make sure to go hungry because you will leave full!

Yelp
This place is so good. I love how consistent the quality of food, and great beer options, too. They even promote local artists whose artwork is for sale. The service has always been terrific. Love going there and sitting in the patio area. It's amazing how many of my friends have commented about their love for Four Day Ray which I affectionately call 4DR.
google avatar

Danielle W.

Yelp
This is such a cute spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. I stopped by for happy hour and sat outside on the patio and it was absolutely gorgeous. They have a couple of happy hour specials for food and drink. I have to say the sweet potato fries were absolutely amazing! I would've never thought to sprinkle cinnamon sugar on them, but it is a total game changer. The server was new, but she was extremely helpful, and offered me a sample of two different beers before I decided on one of them. It is a great place to relax and people watch through the big windows or outside patio. There were loads of other tasty looking items on the menu that I will need to go back and try for sure.

Yelp
I ordered "The Goat" which was very yummy and "Hot Pink" - strawberry and jalapeño ale. It was a nice day outside, so we got to sit out on the patio, which surprisingly wasn't super buggy! Nice day out, good service, and good food.
google avatar

Yelp
This brewery is such a great spot, especially in the summer. The patio is fully covered and stays surprisingly cool even on a hot day, making it the perfect place to hang out with a pint. They use Resy for reservations, which makes planning ahead easy, and if you have an American Express card, you can snag $10 off every month dining here--definitely a nice perk. Great beer, great atmosphere, and a solid spot to spend an afternoon.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Four Day Ray is a fun spot for some typical brewery fare and some tasty beers. They have lots of different seating are arrangements, so you can definitely accommodate any size group! My husband and our friends popped in for some beers after we had dinner and hung out for a bit to catch up. It was a lovely time and our server was really nice and had the cutest jewelry. Overall a great time and its location is so convenient next to the interstate, Target, and even several restaurants if their menu isn't what you're looking for food and you just want to stop in for drinks like we did.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service on an uber-busy Friday nite. The pretzel bite app is awesome with a perfect cheese dip. My Southwest Salad with Blackened Shrimp was nicely presented with ample shrimp. It could use a punchier dressing to accent the fresh greens, tomatoes & avocado. As always, great beer selection made on site.
google avatar

Yelp
Beer is great. Burger and chips were great. The hot honey chicken sandwich was great. Our waitress was fantastic. The house fries were terrible. Mushy, old and cold. Not enough ketchup given. Quality control is needed. Those fries should have never gone out. But that wouldn't stop me from coming back. They have a great experience here.
google avatar

Bruce K.

Yelp
Super busy on a Friday night, parking was a major challenge and I could only manage to get a seat at the bar where I enjoyed a tasty brew. I was unable to properly set up my laptop or plug in my phone. I get it, this isn't a hangout but I did want to sip beers and write reviews tonight. Service was good considering that the place was slammed. Beer was tasty. Food was spendy. After the one beer, I closed out the tab and departed. [Review 1306 of 2024 - 183 in Indiana - 22329 overall]

Yelp
Can't say enough AMAZING things about Four Day Ray! We've visited twice in the past month. They have great happy hour deals and delicious food. Their outdoor and indoor seating are all lovely and the servers are upbeat and friendly. Eating a gluten free, bunless burger isn't necessarily the most fun thing, but this burger was outstanding. I'm already thinking through how I can replicate bacon, fig, and goat cheese on a burger at home this weekend. We'll be back anytime we are in Fishers!

Yelp
This evening, we were seated in the upper room - cozy and comfortable. The server was excellent, just the right amount of attentiveness. We received our drinks and food very quickly! The blood orange blonde was delicious and fresh tasting. The patty melt was a good attempt but simply too greasy. The caramelized onions, patty, and cheese were greasy enough but the rye toast was also soaked and you could visually see a sheen of oil/butter on it. Combined with the sweet potato waffle fries, it was just too much fried and greasiness. Normally, we love the food here. I would have preferred the dry rubbed wings, tacos, or regular cheese burger. Still giving a high rating because we do love this place and will be back for something not the patty melt!

Kimberly F.

Yelp
I went here for a friend's birthday and the service was great! Our server came by often and gave a free dessert for my friend's birthday. The place was huge and had a lot of seating. Even though it's a brewery, it's family friendly. The food was good, especially the sweet potato waffle fries. I wouldn't recommend the baller tots appetizer since it was way too salty. There's a lot of free street and lot parking nearby, which was nice.
google avatar

Yelp
As usual, a perfect experience & great food! Ya'all should make plans to visit this brewery. The food is outstanding. The servers are all knowledgeable & capable of answering your questions.

Yelp
I dream of their sweet potato fries. I ordered some sweet potato fries from door dash so I can't speak to service or ambiance but if you go do yourself a favor and order them. Even delivered they were hot out of the fryer and perfectly crunchy with the best sauce. 10/10 recommend

Yelp

Yelp
We stopped at Four Day Ray to watch the Purdue game and have lunch. They have plenty of TVs and the environment is not too loud. We started off with cheese curds as our appetizer. They were good, and I liked the dipping sauces that came with them. As we kept eating, the bottom of the basket was filled with grease, making those almost inedible. I decided to order the nachos as my entree. The portion size of the nachos is massive. They are a bit hard to eat because they use shredded cheese then bake that over the top of the chips. You can't easily grab a loaded chip. The nachos were okay, I didn't think they had a ton of flavor and wouldn't order them again. Our waiter was attentive and the atmosphere is nice. In the summer they have a patio too!

Yelp
Figured I'd update my review with additional thoughts. FDR has a cool building, better than average beer, and a convenient location. The service is friendly. The food is a bit overpriced, but what isn't nowadays. Quality menu items include the salads, burgers, chicken sandwiches. Average items include wings and dips. Below average includes buffalo wrap. FDR has better food than park place pub, but is not the place to watch sports, that's the pub, but FDR does have a decent amount of tvs.
google avatar

Kerry K.

Yelp
I stopped in for lunch & to try their brews. I have never tried them. I sat at the bar since I was alone- my server was attentive and offered suggestions. I got a flight with 4 beers and liked all of them (surprising for me). I also got 2 tacos after my server recommended them. They were so tasty! I got the special of the week & the Hawaiian one. It comes with Chips & Salsa which I love! The salsa was good too. It was a good experience, I could tell people stop in for work lunch or meetings. Service was quick & it was a good atmosphere. I would recommend stopping in if you're in Fishers.

Yelp
Appetizers were delicious...who doesn't love fried pickles? Ordered a salad and it was easily enough for two meals. Server was great! Ambiance on the patio with our dog was worth it. Love how pet friendly and accommodating staff was. Next time I am in town I will stop by for dinner for sure.

Yelp
Beautiful outdoor area which we enjoyed for a late lunch on our drive south to Indy. We enjoyed a couple IPAs, the ahi tuna and pork tacos, and the spicy dill pickle sandwich, all were very good. The tuna tacos were very small, just a heads up if you're looking for something to fill you up these aren't it. Great beer and service was attentive and friendly. I recommend stopping by.
google avatar

Carolene M.

Yelp
Love the food and the service at FDR! The last 2 times, I got the nachos which was enough for 4 people! They were really good. I've had their salads too.

Yelp
Went for a girls night out on a weeknight. Shared many appetizers and dessert along with a variety of beers and cocktails. Great place to meet up with friends for a drink and tasty food.
google avatar

Yelp
The food and staff were amazing. This was the best tenderloin I've had in a very long time. The ambiance was nice and relaxing. The building looked fresh.

Yelp
What a great overall experience! This inviting gastropub/brewery is definitely worth a visit. A perfect fit for a trendy Indy suburb. We were sat immediately regardless of how busy it was. Everyone was very warm and welcoming. We sat at the bar and were still well taken care of. The service was timely and we rarely had to wait for something. Food times were good even though it was very busy. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The flavors were on point and the tots were to die for! One weak point was their on-hand inventory. They only carry a very limited number of their beers for carry out. We had a great time and hopefully you can too! I do recommend this establishment. And I would return myself.

Yelp
Four Day Ray is the perfect spot in Fishers to meet up with a friend for lunch! It's quiet, but modern. This time, when we went in for dinner, it was crowded and feels more like a bustling restaurant than the laid back casual place it is for lunch! We had a few of their beers (blueberry blonde is my favorite seasonal, but blood orange blonde rocks their taps year round!) We had the loaded tots which were great! They were really crispy and had all the toppings inside! Make sure you order them with the Mayo on the side if you don't want it on top! We also got a grilled chicken salad. T family was laughing at me for CLEARING my plate. Chicken was perfectly fried (not as crispy as the tots, but in a good way). It was also the perfect ratio of meat to salad. We will continue to come back for the rotating beers and good food!

Yelp
Four Day Ray is a hopping place! I was here with a group of 6 and we got in at the right time, as tables were filling up quickly on this Saturday afternoon. And for good reason! There is a great range of foods to pick from and it was nearly impossible for me to pick. However, I did notice that there were other tables seated after us who got much faster service than we did. I ordered... The Baller Tots ($11.50): their homemade tater tots filled with bacon and cheese, topped with chives, sriracha ranch, and sour cream. This dish is marked as an appetizer on the menu, but I was anticipating it to be a little larger of a portion, as I myself only wanted a lighter meal at the moment, so this dish was smaller than what I wanted. While I perhaps did not get the right dish for this trip, I certainly look forward to the next time I can come and try something from the menu selection next time!

Makaelah S.

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience at Four Day Ray. We had a large group and were seated quickly and often attended to. I got my favorite Blueberry Blonde beverage and wings for dinner. We were celebrating my recent engagement and our waitress went above and beyond to bring a dessert and make me feel special!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by Four Day Ray! The outdoor patio and interior were both cute. The service was great, and I really enjoyed the southwest chopped salad and sweet potato fries.

Anthony K.

Yelp
Service was great the food was exceptional. I had the FDR Fishwich it was perfectly golden brown, the homemade tartar sauce delicious. The house made chips were nicely browned and crispy.

Yelp
Simply the best wings and service, dollar for dollar a no brainer, Bryans team rocks

Yelp
I haven't been here since Covid hit. The menu has changed several times, I'm told. The current menu has many options that sound delicious and made for a hard choice. Each of us enjoyed what we selected for our meal and would order again. 4 of us met for an early dinner or late lunch today that lasted from 3:30 - 6:30. Lunch runs from 11:00a - 3:00p. We had a great time visiting, and all 4 of us had other appointments, so we had to leave. Otherwise, who knows how long we'd have talked. Three of us had the tasty French Onion Soup as our appetizer, and it was loaded with small, diced onions, a rich stout broth, and topped with a nice amount of Swiss and parm cheese. Our entrees tonight included a Southwest Chopped Shrimp Salad, 2 Tacos with salsa and chips, a small Wedge Salad, and a BBQ Chicken Flatbread. Whether you select an appetizer, tacos, soup, salad, smoked brisket, pulled pork, tenderloin, Fettuccine Alfredo, or Seared Salmon I think you'll most likely enjoy your meal. I hope to get back here much sooner than the Covid allowed for.

Yelp
FDR is always a favorite. The service is always good, the beers are good. The patio is great on a nice day. My all time favorite is the Nashville hot chicken tenders- best in town! The cheese curds are great too. Pair with beer flight and you're golden.

David C.

Yelp
Kinda hard to recommend a business who has me waiting around and intentionally held off on even giving me a menu cause I looked different from the other clientele. Needless to say I ended up leaving with an empty stomach as I don't want to be at a place that mistreats me.
google avatar

Brittney R.

Yelp
My group of 4 went in on a weekday at 11:30a and was sat right away. We had quick service and were done in an hour. Our group ordered two flatbreads, a burger and tacos. I had the Mahi Mahi tacos with chips and salsa. Everything was delicious. The salsa was just a little spicy, the chips were fresh, and the tacos were loaded. The tacos were a bit too spicy for me, but still tasted great. It was just enough food to fill me up. The flatbreads looked amazing. They didn't come with anything else. The burger came with homemade potato chips, that looked so good!
google avatar

Ashley E.

Yelp
Beautiful patio area, delicious drinks, service was a little slow, and the wings were probably a 7/10! the outdoor area is all ages, so be mindful of that if you don't want to risk screaming children. i'd likely return to try other menus items in hopes my next experience is 5 stars.
google avatar

Storm R.

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed a late lunch on a date day. We ordered a flight and loved 2 of the 4 beers. The Indiana Flyer and Fake Profit were so good. We ordered a cheeseburger and boneless wings. The wings were not as crispy as we thought they would be and the burger could have used more seasonings. The flavors were overall good. Our waiter did a great job during our time there. We are excited to come back and try other things next time.
google avatar

Sheree W.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch around 1:30 PM. There was plenty of free parking all around. Was able to walk right in without a reservation. There are just a couple tv's not huge ones but decent sizes. They had college football playing and music as well. Our server was very friendly and offered a few different suggestions. I landed with the grilled chicken sandwhich. It came with kettle chips ore you can buy up for fries or a side salad. The chicken sandwich was very good. It had swiss cheese and a egg. I've seen eggs on hamburgers but never chicken and it actually worked well. Pricing seems fair, I think my sandwich was about $14 (but remember it comes with chips not fries, they are extra ) for the area. I'll go back for sure.

Yelp
Great lunch today at FDR! Excellent server, Logan, provided quick and friendly service and we had very good food! We were seated right away even though it was a busy lunch rush. Food came fast and as always this was a great visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice environment. The staff was friendly and attentive to my allergy, the chef even came out to assure me I would be ok- I appreciate that. In all the food was ok.

Will And Barbie P.

Yelp
"Great place to eat! The portions were generous, and the service was just as impressive. We were visiting from Florida and had never been here before--so glad we gave it a try. We left completely satisfied and will definitely be back the next time we're in town.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
It's rare I get to venture into Fishers, but when I do, FDR is one of my staples. Good beer, good vibes, solid food, great atmosphere. What more do you need in a solid community brewery. Only wish they had something closer to downtown or out west, but definitely worth a visit if you're in the area shopping or pre-concert-ing.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was not a good what so ever. She took a very long time just to take our food order because she was to distracted doing that was not work related, then she started to bring our food and the person with me got tacos and she said that she forgot to grab a slaw for the tacos and she even told us that she forgot it. Then after that the food took forever to come (which wasn't her fault) and then when it came, the fries were cold, but otherwise the food was good. then we asked for a check and she started walking towards us with the check and then she started talking to another worker and then turned into the bar and then finally came back and gave us a check. Besides the service the food was good.

Annette R.

Yelp
So I went to Four Day Ray before attending a Fishers concert. I wanted a little snack..... oh my goodness, the Pulled Pork Nachos were so large and delicious! I needed two carryout boxes to take the leftovers home! Also, the red sangria was refreshing and tasty. Service was excellent and I'm pleased with this place! Hurrah for free parking too.
google avatar

Anthony T.

Yelp
Four Day Ray Brewing is a really good spot for the family it have a good atmosphere and a patio main level and 2nd level we came and ordered food it was a medium wait the food was amazing but the table had no condiments like ketchup and salt and the water was tap witch is basic and I can't complain about the water tho

Yelp
Great food and the vibe was chill. We sat in the bar. Food was reasonably priced. The Pilsner was good and the mules were limey but a little sweet. Very good overall.
