Hotel Loss My Belonglings and Gave My Room Away. Racist, Rude.
For anyone who want to stay in LA safely, you must know what this hotel did to their customer:
My company booked a month-long stay for me at this hotel as part of my relocation, and I paid the full amount in advance before checking in. During the third week of my stay, I fell ill and decided to stay with a friend for a few days to recover. Before leaving, I specifically informed the front desk to not check me out early and to not touch my belongings. The front desk assured me that there was no problem and even noted it in their system. However, when I returned in the fourth week, I discovered that all of my personal belongings had been lost and that my room had been sold to someone else.
During the days I sicked, neither I nor the person who made the reservation received any confirmation or notice of a check-out, even though we had already paid for the entire month!
I have clear booking information and proof of full payment for the month's stay. Despite this, the hotel lost my personal belongings and sold my room without confirming with me or the reservation holder, and of course, there was no refund.
As a girl who had just relocated to Los Angeles alone, I felt terrified and violated. To make matters worse, when the hotel manager, Kristen Allen, and another male manager came to speak with me, I expected an apology and assistance. Instead, when they saw me crying from fear and distress, they actually LAUGHED. I was absolutely stunned and confused as to why they would treat an Asian woman this way.
I reported the incident to the police and obtained a report ID. My company's relevant department also attempted to contact the hotel, but during this process, the hotel resorted to delaying tactics and evasion, severely hindering communication between the company and the hotel.
What is even more shocking is that on the very day I reported the incident, the hotel secretly charged my credit card over $1,300! Not only did they fail to compensate me for my losses, but they also attempted to charge me additional fees without my knowledge.
I cannot understand how Marriott's higher management can tolerate such criminal behavior. To this day, I am still suffering from severe emotional trauma and worsening physical illness. I am now pursuing legal action.
To anyone reading this before booking a hotel here, please take this incident seriously. For the sake of your personal safety, property, and mental health, do everything you can to avoid this hotel.
To this day, the hotel is still evading responsibility. I have not received any apology or compensation.
