Google
My visit to Four Roses was good. I appreciated that everyone got their own headset so we could hear the tour guide the entire time. I’ll admit I was unsure about it at first, but once the tour began, I loved how easy it made everything. The grounds were beautiful and the tour itself was very informative. I wasn’t able to participate in the tasting, and I’m not sure if they offer a tour option without the tasting. They are very strict about not sharing drinks, so my sample went untouched.

Google
Beautiful location with lots of class. Obviously book tours at least 1.5 months ahead of time. Loved learning about the single barrel whisky types with the mash and yeast types for the 10 combos. I got the OESO because of the proof and fruit notes. Mixed drinks are expertly done at the bar, so order something special. Overall the 45 minute tour was excellent. Morgan did a great job managing the crowd and laughing with us. I'd book this experience again for sure. It goes without saying that the Bourbon is fantastic.

Google
The grounds of Four Roses Distillery were absolutely beautiful. The tour guide did a phenomenal job and the tasting was Top Notch one of the best we have had. I would definitely recommend this Distillery tour while you're in Kentucky. Also their gift shop was very nice very reasonable prices

Google
We visited Four Roses in August of 2025. Our private tasting at Four Roses was a bit of a snooze fest, with the gentleman leading us sounding as if he were reading directly from a script. As if going through the motions because he gets paid to be there. The tasting selection? Pure rocket fuel…with little to no one in the room enjoying the flavors. The best part of the experience was arriving early and enjoying their bar. Now that menu was well-planned and executed beautifully, with flavor combinations that truly impressed. Unfortunately, Four Roses feels like it’s designed for the masses, with a cattle herding approach to guests coming in and out. The gift shop was filled with low-quality products meant for churn and burn, lacking the charm and uniqueness you’d expect from a distillery with such a storied history. Overall, this was the worst stop on the trail, definitely the only disappointment in an otherwise enjoyable bourbon adventure.

Google
I have done tours at both Four Roses locations and have not been disappointed. The tour guides are knowledgeable and interact well with the crowd. Definitely recommend a tour. The facilities have merchandise and bottles for sale and there are also bars on site. All the staff members were friendly and courteous.

Google
We did the Sip’n’stroll Tour and loved it. The grounds of Four Roses is absolutely stunning, well maintained, and very clean. You can tell the employees are proud of their work. Everyone we encountered seemed to know every answer to our questions. Jason was our tour guide, and an absolute pleasure! He was very informative and cracked a lot of jokes to keep spirits light. We loved to learn about how Four Roses has been such a huge part of his life. He truly has a passion for bourbon and an even bigger appreciation for Four Roses Distillery. We would definitely return with our friends and family for our next bourbon trail trip.

Google
Four Roses has always been one of my husband's favorites, so for his 69th birthday, he scheduled a tour and tasting for us. Not being a bourbon drinker, I know very little about the various distilleries. Imagine my surprise when we drove back to the visitor center and I was greeted by beautiful scenery and buildings that reminded me of a California vineyard. The gift shop is a "class act": lighting, displays, and merchandise top notch, but not with outrageous pricing. There is a nice bar to the left of the check-in desk, with seating indoor and outdoor. Tours start behind the doors off the lobby. There was a video, in the gathering room, from the master distiller, which gave us enough time to get our headsets connected and our volumes set before we started the tour. The headsets work wonderfully, as I like to linger behind a bit to get pictures. It allowed me to not miss any of the information while still being able to capture the sights for memories. The tour is fairly easy with some steps. One building is extremely hot but our tour guide warned us ahead, then told us how to cool down near windows or how to exit if necessary. No one needed to leave as we did not remain inside very long. There is a beautiful story tied to the name, and much history tied to the product. The tour was very interesting. The tasting was done in another beautiful part of the visitor center, with four bourbons and a story about each. Even I could appreciate the difference in the flavors, selecting the "best of the four" for my tastes. I must not have done too badly because that's the bourbon that my husband selected for purchase after the tour.

Google
Our guide for the VIP tasting was a sweetheart. A beautiful location with a fantastic visitor center and bar. I highly recommend visiting this distillery — Four Roses is a fantastic bourbon and having it in this setting makes it even better.

Yelp
We had a group of six for the legacy tour, and we all had a fabulous time! Our tour guide, Morgan, gave a thorough overview of the distillery and was an absolute pleasure. She was also more than happy to answer questions. The grounds are well cared for and we got to explore several "behind-the-scenes" areas. We got to sample four bourbons during the tasting portion at the end of our tour. Overall this was an excellent experience, and I would highly recommend this stop on the bourbon trail.
google avatar

Corina M.

Yelp
Morgan provided an excellent tour for our group! We enjoyed learning the details of the bourbon process and were pleased to sample 4 very different bourbons. The tasting included a dropper for reverse osmosis water which could be added to the samples which remarkably altered the flavor of the bourbon! We also enjoyed the Spanish architecture in the middle of Kentucky! After the tour, we were allowed to keep a glass with the Four Roses logo. We were fortunate to visit on 12/18/25 which coincided with a special Holiday event where the Master Distiller was available to answer questions and even sign our bourbon purchase. Extremely pleasant and knowledgable staff for our entire visit.

Yelp
Four Roses was another stop we were excited to check off our Bourbon Trail list, and it did not disappoint. We arrived a bit early and decided to pop into a nearby coffee shop instead of waiting in the car. When we came back at our scheduled time, we walked into a gorgeous, impressive venue. The gift shop was large, inviting, and full of great merchandise. After checking in and getting our tickets for the Taste of History experience, we browsed around while waiting for our tasting to begin. My wife and our travel companions even found a few "must-have" items to take home. When it was time, we were led into the tasting room--spacious, beautifully designed, and perfectly matching the style of the gift shop. We sampled four different bourbon expressions while our excellent host guided us through the history and flavor profiles of each one. Like many tastings I've attended, choosing a favorite was nearly impossible--they were all unique and delicious. By the end, we walked out with a couple of new bottles and plenty of conversation about which pours we loved most. A great stop on the trail and well worth the visit!

Yelp
My friends and I chose to do the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky for our annual get-together, and Four Roses was our final stop of the trip--and it did not disappoint. The grounds were beautifully maintained, creating a great first impression. The tour was very informative, and the tasting was superb. I'm really glad we had the chance to visit and see how one of my favorite bourbons is made. A perfect way to end our Bourbon Trail experience.

Yelp
I looooove the Spanish-inspired architecture since it's so unique for the area! Walking was reasonable and not tiring. The refreshing cocktail (strawberry lemonade?) they provided for the tour was delicious! It was provided in a reusable customized cup, intentionally looking like a solo cup with a sippy-cup lid. *A couple people "dribbled" when trying to sip, though. Cute souvenir! We were provided with a headset to listen to the tour guide as she wore a headset and gave the tour. She recited the script and was gorgeous but the presentation lacked personality. The tasting was fine, but wasn't anything special, imo. Except I love the souvenir glass - that was unique! And it the host even suggested using the bottom as a cookie stamp and I actually do want to try it!

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and plan a trip to Four Roses. From the moment we arrived we knew we made the right decision. The bar was fun and the drinks were delicious. I recommend a Carmel vanilla old fashioned with a roasted marshmallow. Dive into a tasting and enjoy 4 of the best bourbons I have had in a while. Mary Frances gave us an amazing factual description of the brand! She was absolutely the best. We will be back.

Yelp
We have been to the Louisville area many times and never made it to Four Roses. Located in Lawrenceburg, this is a first class operation. We signed up for their 30 minute tasting and overview experience and it was fantastic. As soon as you enter you check in and are given tickets. It is advised you arrive at least 15 minutes prior . You can walk around and look at some of their displays, shop in their gift store or have a drink at their Bar 1888.. Drinks are allowed on the tours. We each ordered a drink..old fashion and a mint julip since it was Derby week. It came with a souvenir glass but it was pricey. After the tour and tasting (4),we shopped a little bit and enjoyed our drinks on the outside patio overlooking the distillery grounds A fantastic way to spend an afternoon in Kentucky.

Yelp
Loved visiting Four Roses Distillery. Driving onto the property I felt like we were on a Southern Plantation. The rolling hills & green grass made me want to sit & relax in the rocking chairs on the big front porch! This was our 1st tour of 3 last Wednesday. Our guide was clear & very knowledgeable. Appreciated the headsets! & our Bourbon sampling was so good too! Loved the gift shop & bought a bottle of Single Barrel and can't wait to open it! (Even bought the large rose ice cube tray! Had to have those!!! ) We had always talked about visiting Kentucky on our way 'Up North' from Phoenix; this year it was going to work! So glad it finally did ! Learned about the various ratios of ingredients and saw the 'yeast' room & got a free facial! Haha! Great job Four Roses!!

Yelp
Wonderful tasting at Four Roses Distillery after KBF! Got to sample the 2024 limited at the bar. They had from 2019-2025, but we were able to pick up a couple signed bottlesby Brent Elliot at the festival. After the tasting experience I can say I have a new found openness to the FR entry bottle which is aged 6-7yrs, but could have much older juice. I've converted to Four Roses from BT.

Yelp
This place is beautiful The buildings look like a place in New Mexico Bright yellow buildings with the four roses over the door Service exceptional and the gift shop has so many beautiful things The glassware so stunning It's a gorgeous spot to enjoy a cocktail and the lush surroundings

Yelp
In all honesty-this was the 5th (and final) distillery that we visited and once you've seen some of the others, Four Roses may feel like a let-down. First- what I really disliked about it you might love. You tour with headphones and a receiver to hear the tour guide. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, but touring the distillery in this way felt oddly isolating. You aren't commenting with your tour companions- wow! or look at that! -you are in your own headphone focused world and I really disliked it. Of our 5 participants only 1 person said they actually liked the headphone tour. The other thing I really didn't like is that they don't do any barreling onsite- so there's no dimly lit cobwebby barrel room to stand in and take in. That's not their fault- it's just a reality and a bummer for a visitor. The gift shop bottles were priced higher than what we can buy product at home- so that's also a bummer. At $22 per person for the Legacy Tour this is one you could skip. Definitely prioritize Maker's Mark and Buffalo Trace before this one.

Yelp
Our first time here so we pre-booked the History tour and tasting which we really enjoyed. Gwen was so informative and funny. The decor was elegant and the atmosphere relaxed for sipping on a cocktail both inside the bar or outside catching a breeze on the porch.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience here as I caught the last tasting tour of the day and was the only one! The tasting included four of their bourbons and a tour of one of their rick houses. It was about 40 minutes or so overall. I learned a great deal about four roses and thoroughly enjoyed all four bourbons. I'm not sure if I ever had four roses before but I am certainly a fan now. I'll be adding them to my bourbon collection.

Yelp
A positive experience. The Welcome Center is huge and very well decorated with a nice Gift Shop. The whole campus is a lovely Spanish motif. We took a tour of the facilities and the guide was very informative. She was a wealth of information! The tastings afterwards were well explained in a very nice tasting room. They also have a great chart explaining the nuances of their various bourbons. Unlike most other distilleries, they offered oyster crackers and water to cleanse the pallet. An eye dropper for water was also provided to open up the bourbon after first tasting w/out the water before drinking it with a few drops of water to taste the difference. Great touches. Finally, a distillery that did not have a restaurant, but provided cheese and pretzels, and cheese and cold cut meats for purchase . These distilleries are far apart and rarely have any restaurants/food to purchase nearby. We found ourselves hungry at a couple of distilleries with no availability of food. This is a wonderful touch! The other distilleries should take note. My only suggestion would be that the bar offer tastings for a fixed price as opposed to having to buy a full glass of bourbon without being able to sample just one type.

Yelp
Four Roses was one of the top Bourbon tours for me in August 2024. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Fairly priced tour loaded with information. I reserved the Sip n Stroll tour for $22. It comes with a beverage while you stroll the grounds, of course. Lol! The cup was cute. Drink was strawberry lemonade with a little bourbon. It was delicious. We were provided headphones to wear during the tour to hear our guide. This was a great ideal. It was a decent sized group. We walked the grounds and learned the history of Four Roses. I know where the name came from now. Do you? Cute story. We ended with a tasting. Our guide did an amazing job explaining how to tell what we were tasting. I went in with a small batch being my fav. I left in love with the single barrel... and a bottle. We did get to keep the glass water glasses. Very nice with roses emblem on the bottom of the glasses. Two nice reusable cups. Definitely stop at Four Roses! I would go again. Worth the money. Amazing experience!

Yelp
Bar Review Only! Stopped by Four Roses to see the grounds, gift shop, and tasting room. There is a Spanish feel to the distillery, visitor center was elegantly designed, and bar offered both cocktails and neat spirits to try. Our experience at the bar was a bit disappointing. The bartender was not overly friendly and didn't allude too much in her answers to questions we had. We ended up ordering the Single Barrel Private Selection & Small Batch Select on the rocks as well as the Chocolate Old Fashioned. All drinks were filled with normal ice cubes over the traditional old fashioned cubes. They also stated they were out of garnishes for the specialty drinks. The Select tastings were ok. Overall, the experience didn't go above and beyond for hospitality purposes. Great if you are passing by but I wouldn't go out of my way to venture back.

Jeremiah K.

Yelp
The grounds and facility were definitely beautiful and perfect location. The tour was planned out very well and very informative. The tasting was definitely one of the better that we have had on the trail. We look forward to coming back here again next time we're in Kentucky and would definitely recommend to anybody else that loves distilleries.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
May favorite distillery tour on the bourbon trail! Beautiful facility that isn't overhyped or touristy like the one with the buffalo lol. Four Roses truly understands their craft and caters to bourbon purists. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of four roses and the nuances of bourbon. I really appreciated the advanced level of the presentation that did more than focus on basic elements of distilling. The gift shop also had 9 of the 10 recipe single barrel, barrel strength master distiller selection bottles. I was completely blown away to see all of those hard to find bottles for sale in the same room. . No other distillery on the bourbon trail had anything close to that!
google avatar

Yelp
The tasting the staff the upbeat cheer all in all is 10 out of 10. I showed up late for a tasting due to a snowstorm and poor road conditions and the staff when I arrived could not have been more accommodating. Every friend I have I will 100% tell them if you're pressed for time can do only 1 bourbon tasting when in bourbon country, make Four Roses your top choice. Thank you for a great time in a short amount of time. Thank you
google avatar

Kristi B.

Yelp
We only did a tasting here, but the location is absolutely stunning. It is off the beaten path in a very quiet area. You're able to sample four with just the tasting and you get a guided facilitation with a history of the company. Their new visitor center also has a bar area where you can try additional versions of their bourbon at a cost as well as cocktails made with their bourbons. They also had bourbon strawberry lemonade popsicles, but we're out of them when we were there. They have a large gift shop as well, so you can find just about anything to represent the brand

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed an afternoon tour at Four Roses distillery. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided an excellent tasting experience!

Yelp
First time to see new visitors center very nice and enjoyed a couple of cocktails at the bar
google avatar

Marcie N.

Yelp
Awesome Tour on Sunday. Grayson was very knowledgeable and very friendly. The tasting experience was great. He was able to guide us thru the 4 glasses. I walked away, way more knowledgeable about bourbon and the Four Roses way.

Sam L.

Yelp
Excellent experience, tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. Really enjoyed learning the process and history.
google avatar

Howard P.

Yelp
Beautiful property and Visitor Center. History-rich distillery that offers Legacy tours that offers a 60 minute tour and bourbon tasting of their 4 main bourbons. Tour guides and staff are super friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Carrieq R.

Yelp
Beautiful! Last minute decision to come due to rain out for the Bourbon Burn Bike trip. Tours sold out but the grounds, and $25 tasting in the bar & craft cocktails was great. everyone super knowledgeable and friendly. Get a $99 select single barrel bottle . Beautiful place delicious bourbon

Derek G.

Yelp
Beautiful architecture , amazing grounds , friendly staff and great bourbon!! Can't ask for much more ...

Yelp
Friendly staff, great bourbon, educational, and cool gift shop & bar. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Did the taste of history tour and it was very informative. Enjoyed the history and tasting and liked the fact we didn't have to walk around.
google avatar

Yelp
Was there 18 months ago. Loved it. Friendly people, great tour, expert tour guide. Learned a lot and bought some beverages to take home and share with friends and family.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
We stopped here to increase our knowledge of bourbon distilling. Overall, the tour was very nice. Our tour guide did a wonderful job, even though they were shut down for their summer break. The sip and stroll tour started off with a short video and a nice cooling adult beverage on. One of the things we learned was they do not have a water source, but rather use reverse osmosis for their water. The other thing we learned is they do not do kegging, aging, or bottling at this facility.
google avatar

Debora D.

Yelp
Took my husband for his 42nd birthday. We went to the small batch flight tasting. Great experience definitely recommend. The flight guide was very informative. Distillery was beautiful.

Stb H.

Yelp
An all around great experience!!! Dusty was a fantastic guide!! The facility was amazing!!
google avatar

Aubrie H.

Yelp
We loved our tasting experience here. The guide was fantastic and we learned a lot about the different mashbills that provide the unique flavors to the different Four Roses offerings. After the tasting we visited the bar which had several drinks as well as Distillery exclusive bourbons. You do not need a tour or tasting to stop by and visit the bar or the gift shop.
google avatar

Rebekah S.

Yelp
On a road trip and kept telling my whiskey loving spouse that we needed to stop in his favorite distilleries. Four Roses is one of them. Really enjoyed the Spanish style architecture, the grounds and the outdoor porch off the bar. It was a beautiful spring day and we got to hang outside because, as I'm constantly reminded in Kentucky and Indiana, no kids in a bar. I did get the sense that we were missing something, like, we didn't sign up for a tour, we didn't know what we were doing, etc., so to the point of feeling welcome, I didn't necessarily get that vibe but glad we made a stop nonetheless.

Randa H.

Yelp
Four Roses was our second stop on the Bourbon Trail and did not disappoint! The buildings are so pretty! They are in the middle of construction and because of the awkward time we arrived, we opted for just the tasting. It was nice out so we got to taste out on the patio. Our host was Kim and she was great! She gave us the history of the company, including information about the company's fall in the US And how they have improved, and insight into which bourbons she likes and things she likes to make with them. She was funny too! We got to taste three and enjoyed most of them. The gift shop and tasting prices were average and everything was very clean. I would definitely recommend stopping here!
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
Great location to take out of towners. The bar was fully stocked for a tasting and had great mixed drinks. The gift shop is excellent, always with a bottle you can't typically find in the wild. The bar was a little slow, but the bartender got slammed all at once (we had 14 people). Lovely setting to try their bourbon. Wish we had the time to do a tour. Next time!

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I loved the fact that we each got a headset and controller to listen, no fighting to be up front near the guide or missing large chunks of the talk. The tasting was great too! I love how our guide, Connie talked us through it all and had example bottles to show us. Connie is SO very knowledgeable! Her facts about the process, the grounds, the history.... truly amazing! and she was funny! Just outstanding all around!! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Have been to Four Roses twice now, well actually 3 times. The first time we came and did a tasting which was great since I got to try a lot of bourbon I had never had. The next time we came back their new gift show had opened up and it's beautiful in their and they seem to really but putting out the good Barrel Proof picks more frequently. I will say if you want to get a tour you really have to to book in advance. We tried 2 and a half months my 3 out and we unable to get in and we here it is beautiful. The 3 time I came was a week after I was their the second time because I had to come back to pick up my 135th Anniversary Limited Edition Bottle that I won in the lottery since it was not in stock yet the week we were their. For sure a stop you have to make when traveling the Bourbon Trail.
google avatar

Debi R.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the tasting and visiting the bar afterwards for an amazing Mint Julep made with Four Roses Select. We didn't do the tour because we visited Four Roses 9 yrs ago when it was small and your could really "tour" the working plant. Jason did the tasting and it was very informative. Different from tastings at other distilleries. The small dropper bottle held oxidized water for you to add to the bourbon to enhance the flavor. Only disappointment was they don't have any single barrel or special bottles of Four Roses for sale.

Emily C.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our tour with Connie. She was informative and engaged. She had a great sense of humor. We would recommend this tour to our friends. We loved getting a glass. What a pleasant surprise.
google avatar

Victoria S.

Yelp
Four Roses was the first stop on our Bourbon Trail adventure. We missed signing up for the tours, so we opted to buy some drinks from the bar and walked around the grounds ourselves while we sipped on our libations. Their grounds are gorgeous - it would be a great location to get some engagement or wedding photos done. There are plaques located at various locations on the property, and each plaque gives a host of information on the history of Four Roses. A great place to relax either inside or out!

Yelp
My friends and I were looking forward to our sipping/walking tour and things seemed great upon arrival. Plenty of parking, the new gift shop was spacious and clean, and check-in was easy. We had a decent sized group and everyone got personal head sets so we could hear the tour guide. It was at this point that everything was just okay. The tour guide didn't have good energy and it felt like she was reading from a script. It wasn't anyone's fault but our own that we were visiting during the off season, but the tour didn't really have any unique aspects when compared to all of the other tours we did that week. The tasting that we had at the end of the tour felt rushed and it was more of just trying the bourbon than really learning about the uniquesness versus their competitors. Overall, it seemed like 4 Roses had the most expensive gift shop outside of the shops/distilleries located on the Bourbon Trail in Louisville. This was easily my group's least favorite tour of the 4/5 we did, not even taking into consideration of the costs. If you were to visit, I would definitely make sure to come while they are actively in production in hopes of making for a more interesting visit (keep in mind half of the others we visited were also not active).
google avatar

Ginger W.

Yelp
Alora was a fantastic tasting tour guide! I highly recommend it! She explained everything we needed to know and the history of Four Roses. We went for my husbands 50th bday and we had a great time.

Al L.

Yelp
Beautiful environment with a lot of knowledge and history thrown in The tour I attended covered the entire history of Four Roses distillery from Grain selections right threw the finished bottled product Then the tasting highlighting the different bourbons they offer
google avatar

Osama S.

Yelp
Great tour Great facilities Had a fun and interesting time Would highly recommend for new and veteran bourbon drinkers
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Tour. We went to 7 different distilleries and Four Roses offered one of the best experiences of the trip. It was nice to have the headsets so you don't have to worry about being able to hear. The one negative of the tour is that their rickhouses are at a different location. So no smelling if the angels share on this tour. Tasting. Tasting was very well done. Nice size pours and a good lead of the tasting. It's also a nice touch that they give you a bourbon glass to take with you for free. Beautiful tasting room. Gift Shop. Very clean and nice. They offer all 4 of their primary bottles. No need to get their early to score any as there was plenty to go around.

Yelp
On my first visit to Kentucky, I visited serval distilleries and this one was my favorite. Between the aesthetic, service and product quality, it was my favorite. The property is very well maintained, the visitor center/tasting room is new and very nice. Do yourself a favor and try they Single Barrel Select. While I didn't do the tour, due to lack of time, I walked the grounds and checked out the bar and shop. I wish I'd had more time to visit.

Jeff B.

Yelp
Four Roses is my go-to, everyday, sipping bourbon. I usually have a supply of the flagship and the small batch varieties in my cabinet. So, it made perfect sense to include the Four Roses distillery (Lawrenceburg, KY) in the bourbon trail tour that we recently enjoyed. We did the Legacy Tour . . . It was a very good tour and tasting experience, but be aware (as you will be forewarned onsite) that the room with the copper distilling tower can be very warm/hot due to the distilling steam temperature. Our tour/tasting guide was a wealth of information and effectively shared it with our group. Loved the expansive gift shop, too. I departed with a few souvenirs. Also, we were invited to take our individual water glasses home from the tasting. Nice touch.
