As we get older, our body tends to sometimes break down (OK, maybe just mine), so it needs to get pampered every once in a while to keep it running at its peak. Well for my birthday, I decided to spend the weekend at the Four Seasons. Besides, I needed a reason to give it an updated review! Before I get into my review, I would like to note this is the only AAA 5 Diamond, Mobil 5-star hotel in Atlanta, and after my review, it should be clear why. Except for the next sentence, you will think I am nuts..
Getting here at times can be an absolute nightmare. With its prime location, you may be 2 blocks away, and it may take you 10 minutes to go those 2 blocks. That is literally the ONLY thing bad I have to say about this place. You can tell it upset me enough to keep it at 5 stars.
After being welcomed by valet, coming into the lobby is always a pleasant site. This time, I was able to see the place with its holiday decorations (I might have taken a few pics) and beautiful red flowers they have on the grand staircase. Not to mention the chandeliers... Check in is a breeze and a pleasure as well. As I was checking in, the lady at the concierge desk overhead the reason I was staying for the weekend was that it was my birthday. Hold those thoughts for a few...
I love how when I checked in, not only I got a room upgrade (hell yea), but I love how I literally got escorted to the elevator. This is the ONLY hotel I have been to, where they will walk you all the way to the elevator! Maybe it has happened else where, but not in my sober memory!
I got a room on the 10th floor, with a great view facing Downtown (as the hotel sits in Midtown). I just got the basic room, with a view. The room was spacious, and everything about it was wonderful. And even that bed- I should have brought it home with me! Overall, the room is just a great place to relax.
I remember going out for the evening on the first night, and coming back to my room with chocolate covered strawberries. That was an awesome surprise! I then went to bed, knowing the next day would be busy, as the SEC championship game was in town (I was told I could have possibly been the only guest there not there for the game). I took advantage of that, heading right for the spa/pool. Because yes, they have a wonderful heated pool and spa there, I highly suggest you check out!
Later on Saturday night, I was going to a friends party in Uptown(Buckhead), and the same concierge (which I found out her name to be Rebecca- remember that name!!!) asked me what my dinner plans were. So I wouldn't have to drive, she arranged for me to get picked up by the hotel's car, the Jag (http://www.jaguarusa.com/models/xj/luxury-sedans/). Never been in a Jag before, that ride was niiice :) I had a friend nice enough to bring me home (felt bad for having him drive, but I guess that is what he is there for!!!).
So when I got back from that dinner Sat night, I saw two things- a birthday cake for me, and a tray/recipe for a rose petal bath. So you better believe I enjoyed them both! And yes, that was my first ever rose petal bath. I guess I did it right? It helped me go to bed :).
The worst part about the trip was having to leave. Thanks to Rebecca, she helped me have a more than memorable birthday, one of the best yet! Even when my dumbass left my camera charger in the room, she made sure I got it back. Check out every once in a while, they have some great rates, I highly suggest coming here at least once, if not to stay, then to eat! If you ever feel like you are out of place, just remember that if a fatty wearing camo can get a room with arms wide open, than I am positive you can too- it's worth it, I promise!
