"The plans for Four Seasons’s return to Bangkok (a prior location closed in 2015) predate the body blow that travel took during the pandemic, but the Jean-Michel Gathy–designed reincarnation on the banks of the Chao Phraya feels tailored to Bangkok residents anyway. For visitors who have already ticked off the city’s sightseeing hits, it offers serious staying-put appeal: a multitiered swimming pool with thick-cushioned loungers for all-day lingering; vast suites and bedrooms with deep soaking bathtubs; and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame knockout river views. The four restaurants are set for lazy lunches, while the bossa nova–humming BKK Social Club is helmed by Philip Bischoff, formerly of the glitzy bar Manhattan at the Regent Singapore. The contemporary art collection has an urban edge: Towering works depicting the curves of the Chao Phraya or the folds of a monk’s robe hang from the lobby’s marble walls, while a rotating exhibition puts the spotlight on local talent. Over the years, indie galleries and artsy boutiques have turned this corner of Bangkok into the city’s de facto design district, a transformation that is complete now that the Four Seasons is back." - Jenny Adams
"Bangkok is renowned for its opulent hotels, and the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River stands out among them. Architect Jean-Michel Gathy deliberately chose a mid-rise design, surrounded by lush gardens and pools, preserving the scenic riverside setting. The hotel's interior design embodies contemporary elegance, adorned with Thai art in public spaces. Rooms, starting at 50 square meters, boast minimalist luxury, with upgraded options offering stunning river views. This lavish experience extends with diverse dining options, including a fabulous Cantonese restaurant, ensuring a complete luxury hotel experience." - Pruepat 'Maprang' Songtieng
"The view from the terrace is of the Chao Phraya, but inside, this modern Italian restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel feels more like Lake Como with its Euro vibes, open kitchen and wood oven. At the helm is an Italian chef who worked at several famed restaurants in Europe. Here he deftly cooks favourites like his pizza and home-made pasta with quality ingredients imported from Italy. Adding to the experience is the high level of service of the team." - Michelin Inspector
"It has four in Thailand: a sleek, riverside retreat in Bangkok; a hotel set amongst the rice fields of Chiang Mai; palatial tented camps in the forests of northern Thailand; and a spectacular resort on the island of Koh Samui."
"A 299-room luxury hotel on the Chao Phraya River offering multiple notable dining options—including a Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant—plus wellness and cultural programming such as an Urban Wellness Centre that features SUP Muay Thai and an ART Space run with MOCA Bangkok for exhibitions of emerging Thai artists." - Kathryn Romeyn
