"From hand-carved wooden doors to rustic ceiling beams, elementsrescued fromdemolishedcolonial-era convents were incorporated into the architecture of this luxury property when it was built in 1946. A designated historic landmark, it reopened in 2015 as a Four Seasons Hotel in the restaurant-filled Zona G, named for its impressive gastronomy offerings. Though some of the city’s best eateries are within walking distance, the hotel prepares hearty fare like baked suckling pig with polenta tortilla at the on-site restaurant and bar. Decor feels similarly comforting: Guest rooms are individually designed, but all have distinctive elements such as hand-carved wooden dressers, leather furniture, and thermoacoustic windows for a cocoon-like experience; upgrade to a suite with a fireplace for extra warmth on Bogotá’s chilly nights, or retreat to the spa, whichpampers with Colombian-inspired treatments like coffee-infused body wraps."

I feel compelled to write a review here because this is the ultimate hotel example of "two things can be true at once". Other reviewers are absolutely correct that this is not your "typical Four Seasons experience". However, the reviewers who comment on the awesome service and atmosphere are also correct. I stayed here four nights this past weekend and would do it again gladly. ||Pros:| - Great location in a neighborhood filled with great bars and restaurants and a bit more authentic feeling than Zona T or Zona Rosa| - Service is spectacular. Everyone with whom I interacted was awesome. | - Historic mansion feel| - Breakfast was great every day| - I thought the whole experience was a good value but I will admit I am not an expert on Bogota's tourist economy| - Dear God do not know where they get their mattresses or pillows but WOW!| - New speakeasy very cool with amazing cocktails. ||Cons:| - The downside of being historic and "old" is creaky floors, less than perfect HVAC, trickle showers, and small elevators. That is a "to each his own" trade-off.| - The wine list was an after thought at best. I am not looking for Paris but even a couple of Chilean or Argentine selections from the higher end. Maybe there are supply chain issues here about which I do not know.| - Road noise is material. If you are super sensitive to this you might want to consider another option.||Bottom line is that if I was in Bogota this coming weekend again I would not even look for an alternative lodging location.

Outstanding hotel. The attention to detail is really something to be admired and appreciated in particular the traditional dark wood and art. I love how the botanical garden is implemented in such a stylish way it really is luxurious. We upgraded to the penthouse and were not disappointed, its grand design with the wooden beams and fireplace is just beautiful. The staff are very warm and welcoming, always providing a smile and eager to help with suggestions and travel arrangements. Every part of the hotel is impeccably cleaned and the twice daily housekeeping service is a great touch. We was also provided with oxygen whilst adjusting to the altitude which was very helpful and made such a difference. I would recommend anyone to stay here, it really is an outstanding hotel.

We were kindly upgraded to executive suite and the room came with a fireplace. Enjoyed the room a lot as it was spacious. Staffs were friendly as well and service was great. Lovely breakfast place with lots of fruits. Coffee and savory food options could be better. They also have gym but it’s really small.

My stay here was just OK- which is kind of a let down for a FS location. The welcome was lovely and the staff were friendly. The room itself was noisy - both with street noise and noise from the hallway/lobby that carried up the stairwell. My friend required a change of rooms due to an overwhelming mold/damp smell in her room. The restaurant was fine but nothing exciting. Breakfast was great. The speakeasy concept is well intentioned but poorly executed. The drinks are nice but the service was comically slow. When the bartender was making a drink and we questioned the ingredients due to an allergen, the bartender dismissed our concerns despite us finding an ingredient list that showed the concerning ingredient and then he insisted that we pay for the drink anyway.

This is the best hotel in Bogota - I've worked here for over 30 years, and stayed at the Marriott, the Sofitel, the Four Seasons Bogota.||Casa Medina is first rate all the way. Beautiful, spacious and comfortable rooms. The best imaginable staff. Great location in Rosales in the Gastronomic District. Really nice steam room. Fabulous food.||Avoid a noisy room on Septima and you'll love it

Expectations always run high when it concerns a stay at a Four Seasons hotel, but this property disappoints in multiple respects:|1. the property was built as a private residence in what was an extraordinary mansion-filled street, but most of those homes are gone, and the street is no longer all that nice, even though it is near a lot of good restaurants.|2. Because the property required reworking to make it into a hotel, there are steps everywhere, and they can be treacherous because they are all rather dark wood.|3. The staff tried to help us make tour reservations, but they were not all that competent; and all the tours they arranged were *very* expensive. Much better to book directly with Viator, in our personal experience after doing it each way twice this week.|4. The rooms are fine but nothing special. Compared to the hotel in Cartagena where we stayed right before flying to Bogota, the FS rooms are little better than average other than the bathrooms which are very nicely appointed albeit with only one sink. |5. Because it is on a busy street, there is a lot of street noise that repeatedly woke us at night. ||That said, the bed, pillows and linens were excellent. Lunch in the bar was good - we had multiple courses of local specialties and the service was top notch. I particularly like Hanz, an energetic young bartender. And some of the best restaurants in Bogota are within a mile of the property.

I had a wonderful stay at Casa Medina – Four Seasons Bogotá. The room was beautiful and the bed was incredibly comfortable perfect after a day exploring the city. The service was outstanding throughout my stay, with a special shoutout to Lady and Daniel at the front desk, who were warm, helpful, and always made me feel welcome, thank you both! The breakfast was absolutely delicious, easily one of the best I’ve had in a hotel. The variety of fresh fruit was amazing, and everything was prepared to perfection. I also have to confess: I became totally addicted to the little cookies at the front desk… I couldn’t stop eating them! The gym is excellent, well-equipped, bright, and comfortable to use. I also really appreciated the time taken by Sebastián, the Director of Sales, who gave me a warm and professional tour of the property. His insights and passion for the hotel made the experience even more special. All in all, this is a fantastic hotel and I’d be happy to return any time. Thank you to the entire team for such a great experience! Vincent

Hotel was lovely - had a boutique hotel feel with great service. Situated in a lovely area - very safe and great to have so many exceptional restaurants on your doorstep. Also walkable to both Parque93 and Chapinero, which we did several times. Enjoyed an evening in Boulevardier - really charming service and great drinks. The only negative for me was the breakfast - so incredibly expensive, when there are such amazing and considerably cheaper options.
