20 Best Hotels in Dallas-Forth Worth

"It’s going to take some time to get used to this Las Colinas outpost under a different resort umbrella after years of the beloved property being a Four Seasons. However, a $55 million transformation project is breathing fresh, luxurious life into the property just outside of Dallas. Don’t worry, TPC Las Colinas is still right outside of your suite’s window, however, now you have the option of club level access to amp your amenities. For locals who fancy themselves foodies, the dining debut of Knife Italian by Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur John Tesar is being met with rave reviews." - Diana Oates

The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas

"Why book? The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas is a beloved blending of burb life and the big city. Set the scene: You'll see just about everyone here—a high end wedding party, a young family headed to the pool, or a group of golfers. The pool is pleasantly packed but not in an annoying way and the lawn is full of loved ones lingering for one last drink because the laughs are coming easy. The 400-acre property gets great sunsets and somehow seems miles away from Dallas Despite being just outside the city limits. The backstory For more than 38 years, this property was known as The Four Seasons Resort at Las Colinas. It is now being managed by the Ritz Carlton after a $55 million transformation that wraps up in Spring 2024. Led by design firms Jeffrey Beers International and Leo A Daly, the 427 guest rooms got a refresh to reflect the property’s new brand and chapter. The major change in the room selection is that club level access is now an option which gets guests a dedicated concierge, gourmet culinary and a gorgeous lounge that has a great view of the resort pool. Food and drink Michelin starred chef John Tesar has finally opened his beloved Knife Italian after teasing it for years to the Dallas foodie faithful. Bar Juniper is also a new addition post renovation and name change. The Outlaw Taproom is still around for those who just can’t bear the thought of not drinking a beer by the firepit. Cheers to great food in a beautiful, new space. The spa: The spa not only has a full typical treatment menu with massages and facials, but also a full hair and nail salon for getting glam from head to toe. Although there are plenty of over the top spa offerings in Dallas, locals come here to get away from it all and relax for a bit. The neighborhood/area - Las Colinas is a 12,000-acre master planned community that is home to a lot of businesses, families and entertainment venues. Step just outside the hotel to hit a luxurious neighborhood with golf views and go a little bit farther and you’ll hit the Irving Arts Center for all your entertainment needs. For families From the pool to the golf course and even the spa, there is something for everyone in the family. Kids are top of mine here with events like movie night on the lawn, s’mores by the fire, and even a meet and greet event with the Dallas Zoo. During the summer, kids can take part in the golf , tennis and swim summer camps. Anything left to mention? This is a very popular place to have a wedding in North Texas. If you’re recently engaged, it is perhaps worth a tour." - Diana Oates

John Tesar Opens Knife Italian and Can’t Get Over His Past | Eater Dallas

"A luxury hotel in Las Colinas that partnered with the chef to house his new Italian concept; the property and the restaurant leadership view the venue as a way to drive additional revenue and on-site energy by offering a restaurant with strong food, atmosphere, and appeal to both guests and regional diners." - Courtney E. "Though technically in Irving, midway betweenDallasand Fort Worth, this Four Seasons outpost has honorary Big D status: Opened in 1986, it was a pioneer in the city’s luxury hotel scene, with Spanish Colonial–style vaulted walkways leading to 12 tennis courts, three pools, and two 18-hole golf courses (the resort’s Hall of Champions displays memorabilia from pro player Byron Nelson’s private collection). The 16-room Well & Being Spa was the first in a Four Seasons hotel and lives up to the honor with standout facilities, including wet and dry saunas, an eight-head Vichy shower, and a thermal area with hot and cold pools. If you’re feeling more active, the 6,000-square-foot gym features indoor–outdoor jogging tracks, AntiGravity yoga, a half-court for basketball, and a schedule of more than 40 fitness classes every week, from barre boot camps to TRX. After all the fun, retire to one of the 431 rooms and suites, which are located in both the main tower and a series of low-rise villas. Each one is outfitted in a residential style and has the perks you’d expect from the brand, but villa options kick it up a notch with fire pits or gas fireplaces, deep-soaking tubs, and views of the pool or golf courses. Come dinner time, savor refined Texas-inspired cuisine at LAW (Land, Air, Water), which highlights the best regional produce, or enjoy drinks and casual fare at OUTLAW Taproom, where you can also play pool on an heirloom 1891 table inlaid with mother-of-pearl."

Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas

"How did it strike you on arrival?Driving up to the property in Las Colinas northwest of Dallas, I'm taken by the Spanish colonial-style architecture and the beautiful grounds. When you're in Dallas proper, it is easy to forget how lovely large stretches of impeccably maintained grass can be. Here that grass is part of two 18-hole golf courses—TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas and Cottonwood Valley. What’s the crowd like?Despite the Four Seasons label, this hotel feel laid back, so you'll find a great mix of people. While sitting in the lobby for any extended amount of time you are likely to see a guys golfing group, a wedding party, and a young family headed to the pool. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.I stayed in a premiere villa suite, which has quite a bit more going on than the entry level rooms, and it was well worth it. There was a lovely living area complete with a fireplace that was perfect for entertaining. There was a full bathroom in addition to a powder room and the large dining table was perfect for enjoying meals as a family. My favorite area was the wraparound terrace and its views of the TPC course. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that worth a mention?Don't underrate a good turndown service. Here it helped to keep the room clean and zen. What do they have for food?Lovers of locally sourced meats will go nuts for LAW, which stands for "Land, Air and Water." Executive chef Christof Syré serves up Akaushi beef from Beeman Ranch in Harwood and scrumptious redfish from Copper Shoals Farms in Port O’Connor. The quail and chicken are also locally sourced. LAW's master sommelier, James Tidwell, will help you select the perfect pairing for your dish of choice. In-room dining here is also an absolute luxury. My meal of choice? Breakfast! Start with a large pot of La Colombe coffee and ease into things with a Texas pecan twist or a piece of banana bread. For your main meal, I would suggest Huevos Las Colinas, with two eggs, tortilla, avocado, black beans, queso fresco, and ranchero sauce. So good (and so Texas). Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?The driver of the mini shuttle who transported us from check-in at the main resort to our villa suite was helpful, personable, and offered us some tips and tricks to score the best seats at the two outdoor pools. Anything we forgot to ask about? Those who enjoy staying active on vacation will love this resort and its fitness facilities. Think jogging tracks, an indoor lap pool, group exercise studio (more than 40 classes a week), 12 tennis courts, and two golf courses. My favorite class? AntiGravity aerial yoga for the win. What's the bottom line? The Four Seasons feels like home, and to me, that is priceless. This hotel is warm and welcoming to the entire family. And the golf alone is enough to make it worth it for the athlete in your life." - Diana Oates

Stayed last night with my husband for a little get away. The hotel is beautiful, LOVED and have a small obsession with the hot chocolate bar at the entrance. Literally the best hot cocoa I’ve ever had. Love the assortment of chocolate chip cookies and macarons were great. Our suite had a beautiful view with our balcony overlooking the pool area. Beds were very comfortable. There were no personal touches though, I was underwhelmed quite honestly. We did not have a great experience at the restaurant. The server seemed uninterested. I assumed because we did not order a ton of food and drinks, as we are not really huge eaters. We were really there for a nice intimate, romantic dinner. We were not impressed with the food either, apart from the raw oysters which were very good. It’s a lovely hotel, but I think it was a one timer for us.

I used to go to the Ritz Carlton downtown but I heard about a new one in Los Colinas, Irving. I decided to enjoy going into the New Years at this specific Ritz Carlton. I must say from check in to check out was simply AMAZING! We had Megan at front desk check us in with a beautiful room with outside balcony over the pool area. A truly remarkable scene to enjoy going into the New Year. Our bellman, Nicolas, was efficient and on time with our luggage. He gave us a detailed tour of room and explained everything from room service to the upcoming champagne toast that night and the club lounge location and hours. I enjoyed the New Years eve toast that night with great music and free mask for masquerade party. Before the masquerade party we enjoyed fine dining at Italian knife restaurant, a Michelin chef restaurant. Truly great service and exemplary food. The next day, Megan informed me of an upgrade and had Hector assist us with our luggage and a free ride on the golf cart towards our upgraded Villa. Hector was very pleasant and escorted us to our room giving a grand tour of the layout and explained the mini bar, room service and offered us a mini fridge if needed. During our stay we enjoyed walking the area and decided to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the club lounge. We were greeted by Addison, (Clayton), who gave us a explanation of the lounge and took our drink orders. He offered to go boxes for our leftovers as well. In his place, Anna, was there with a graceful smile making us feel at home and assisting us when needed. While walking the hotel in the front lobby, we were greeted by Luka, who offered free glass of Presecco that delighted our souls and lipids. He had a graceful smile and explained the purpose of "Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen." In all this Ritz Carlton has offered full engagement, peace and relaxation. I will now stay at this particular property instead of the downtown dallas one when I need a local getaway. I have visited Ritz Carltons around the world as a member of the National Press Club and Black Card member. I thoroughly enjoyed this property and truly appreciate the Marriott acquired The Ritz Carlton fully in 1998. There's truly nothing like staying at the Ritz Carlton. I enjoy this property better than my stays at the St. Regis. That says something! If you are a businessman or someone seeking true relaxation with energy to get your mind going while enjoying golf then here is your spot. Thank you to everyone who engaged me and my wife while staying there. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy a place of relaxation, energetic ambiance, satisfying food and drinks and a staff of Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen. ENJOY!

Chose to stay because of Amex FHR checked in at 930pm after landing from MCO. We stayed for about 12 hours and had room service for dinner and breakfast. It was a nice trip for a double room. Service was speedy and attentive and it was a nice resort. It was more of a lowkey stay in resort. I’m not sure of other amenities but may try it out next time. The kids meal was a little sad like the cheese quesadilla or the pasta as I think I will get another option for them because it was plain. Overall had a wonderful stay. They do have self parking or valet parking. Front desk gave the kids yummy cookies and the welcome treat was a nice touch. Thank you again!

Very friendly staff. Take it from the porter to reception to bar to cleaning staff. I have stayed at this place more than couple of times and it has been a great experience always. I stayed at a Villa this time and it had a really good space. They take you in golf cart and it was closer to Nelson gym. Great experience and would live to visit again. There is a lot to do here.

The entire experience at the Ritz-Carlton Las Colinas was disappointing and far below what you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the property is poorly managed and not operating at true Ritz-Carlton standards. At check-in, there was only one staff member working the desk, and despite just one person ahead of us, it still took 15 minutes to check in. There was no apology for the wait, no acknowledgment of Marriott status, and none of the amenities or courtesies that typically accompany status, such as a simple offer of late checkout. The lack of dining options was also unacceptable for a luxury property. Only one restaurant was open for lunch, and we had dinner plans there for later so naturally we didn’t want to dine at the same place twice on the same day. The lobby bar was closed for afternoon tea, even though the bar itself was completely empty and all the tea guests were seated at tables. This was on a Saturday, when full operations should be expected. We ultimately had to walk across to a sports grille because the hotel could not provide a single on-site dining alternative besides room service. To make matters worse, when we tried to adjust our reservation at Knife Italian at 2:30 PM, no one was available to even answer the phone or make changes. It is unbelievable that a signature restaurant at a Ritz-Carlton has no staff present in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. And topping it all off, the spa prices listed on the website did not match what we were actually charged, with no fine print indicating that prices might change. Instead of acknowledging the issue, the staff gave excuses and took no ownership. Don’t let the Ritz branding fool you. The service, operations, and overall guest experience here were completely unacceptable. This property is not meeting the standards guests expect and pay for, under the Ritz-Carlton name.

We had the most wonderful experience thanks to Blake, the Events Coordinator. She went above and beyond to make a little girl’s day truly magical with a special visit from Santa, showing thoughtfulness and care in every detail. Her professionalism was unmatched—she anticipated needs before we even voiced them and made us feel completely at ease. It’s rare to encounter someone who combines such genuine warmth with impeccable professionalism, but Blake did just that. The Ritz is fortunate to have her, and we are so grateful for the memories she helped create.

My parents got married here back in 2001 when it was still called The Four Seasons, and they always said it was the best experience and wedding they ever had. I stayed here again with my parents in 2011, and even now, with the rebranding to The Ritz, the essence of The Four Seasons' culture is still very much alive. On my most recent visit, the staff were extremely nice and cool, especially when they valet parked our car. The check-in staff were super friendly and accommodating, even allowing our dog to stay with us. The room was super clean and modern, though it didn't have cable, which my old-school parents missed. However, it was manageable since we only stayed for a day. What holds this place back from true greatness is the overwhelming number of children during our stay, which made it feel like a giant, expensive daycare. The pool, in particular, was a disappointment--it was so nasty you could practically smell the pee from a mile away. Despite this, everything else about this hotel is excellent, and without the pool issue, it would definitely be five stars.

Google
While the valet and front desk staff are extreme friendly, efficient and helpful, and the lobby is elegantly beautiful, I was hugely disappointed by the hotel. My three-star rating is generous. First, the service is horrible if you are trying to enjoy lunch at the pool cafe. It was so bad, the second time after waiting 15 min without even a “hello, we will be right with you,” we walked out. Second, while the fine dining restaurant, Knife, had much better service and the bread was delicious, the rest of the menu was uninspiring. I expect much better from someone the hotel touts as their star chef. Third, the rooms are cheaply built (in an IKEA-like Formica manner) that simply were, using the same word again, uninspiring. Finally, the hotel’s rates are outrageous for what you get. I don’t mind paying $1200 per night, but I expect commensurate service, food & beverage levels, and hotel appointments. Yeah, none of this at this address. A real shame given that I had expected so much more from a Ritz Carlton.

Yelp
Phenomenal is the one word I would use to describe this place. Stayed here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and from the moment I booked it, the customer service was above and beyond my expectations. I called ahead of time to see if they could help me surprise my husband for our anniversary and Aaron was so helpful in getting something to the room before we arrived. Our Villa was spectacular and spacious. Upon arrival, we were greeted promptly and cheerfully by both the valet attendants and the front desk staff. When we arrived to our room, it was clean, beautifully decorated, and fully stocked. The property grounds were gorgeous with an on-site golf course and Sports club (with membership). They have slight renovations happening as Marriott took over this property (previously Four Seasons). Guests have the option to valet or self-park, but it's a bit of a walk for self-parking. However, shuttle carts are available. We had two drivers that were very pleasant during our stay, Nahim & Alex. They were helpful and told us a bit about the property. We also enjoyed a delicious meal at Knife Italian and Victoria, the greeter, was kind enough to take a picture of us. Our server, Bruce, was friendly, attentive, and had great recommendations. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be treated like royalty. Wonderful job by the management!

Yelp
The rooms are fine but this is a hotel in obvious decline. I am staying for two nights and the hotel gym is unavailable. something about staffing problems. staff are pleasant but this is obviously not a four seasons or even close.

Yelp
Attended for a conference and very impressed with the staff, service, and quality of food. From breakfast, snacks, lunch, and dinner it was all very fresh, tasty, and good quality. Definitely a step above the usual conference food. Comfortable lecture room and extremely comfortable chairs made all day sessions much more pleasant. Definitely a quality location for business and pleasure.

Yelp
Sunday afternoon of Dec 22nd and the absolute rudest bartender at the juniper bar at the lobby. Complained about everything and made ordering the over expensive drinks absolutely miserable. It is like this bartender was out to make your entire experience miserable. Also not up to ritz Carlton standards or Marriott - staff is poorly trained and doesn't care and when checking in Marriott/ritz status means nothing in terms of an upgrade or anything for that matter - whereas the ritz downtown is the epitome of status and service honored. This hotel could learn a LOT by another Rtiz Carlton that Is within 15 miles.

Yelp
We stayed here for Hub's seminar. I stayed in the room or walked the grounds. Tip: Upon arriving ask for a map of the grounds for facilities and paths. A beautiful athletic facility has all kinds of exercise machines, classes and indoor tennis courts. I walked the indoor track above all of these. Outside are tennis and pickleball courts. The tournament golf course is amazing. Hubs enjoyed playing it. The pro shop has a lot of merchandise. Everyone is kind and helpful. The rooms are very nice. The espresso machine was my favorite. The housekeeping staff was thorough, since I saw them every day. The food was delicious. Valet and free parking available.

Yelp
This is not even up to Marriott standards let alone a Ritz Carlton. The only thing worse than the facade of the building is the service in each of the restaurants. Arrive and order your dinner by 5:00pm if you hope to eat your disappointing, poorly cooked, prison quality meal by 8:00pm. The flourless chocolate cake taste like a dirty sponge and extracted all of the moisture from my body. Ordered the chicken from room service only to find it had been mummified and dated back to the Regan administration. The only thing moving with earnest anywhere near their restaurants or the pool were the roaches. Yes, there were roaches. The rooms are slightly below average at best. I stayed in one of their "villas". It was nice to be away from the main building that resembles an insane asylum from an horror movie. Unfortunately, they resembled the foyer of building that housed my Dentist, Chiropractor and Therapist (who I will now need to see after this painful visit). Please do yourself and the Ritz Carlton brand a favor and avoid this place with everything you have. You would be doing them a favor by expediting the removal of this property from their storied brand. The only positive was the team that checked us in. I hope they find new employment soon.

Laura P.

Yelp
They are still finishing their renovations. Plus, we arrived the day that a HUGE storm had blown through in the morning. Lots of limbs down, debris, etc. All that is understandable. We definitely had some glitches, and the staff was overwhelmed. But when we expressed our disappointed, the staff went above and beyond to make it up to us. This is exactly what we expect and appreciate from the Ritz. As they are still recovering from the renovations, I recommend you wait until they are fully functional. And then this should be fantastic resort.

Yelp
I was here last week for a conference. I have also stayed here when it was the Four Seasons so I'm able to compare the two. The property looks much the same as before - the beds are very comfy, showers are great (good flow, hot hot water - though some of my cohort in the villas said they may not have gotten water as hot as they liked) and well appointed roomy rooms. The catering services were pretty good - I'm vegan so there were some things I was pleased with and some things not so much. For example: quinoa isn't a great choice in my opinion because it so easily gets stuck in your teeth which is not something I want at a business function, they surprised at breakfast with an omelette using some kind of vegan egg (didn't taste like a Just Egg but maybe something made in house which was a nice touch), they even had a delicious vegan dessert one night (though just the one night). Overall the meals were hit or miss so I think there's room for improvement there. Service, though, was great - anytime I had to find someone to ask about a vegan option, they were very helpful. Service in the lobby bar is very good as well. The Outlaw bar is also a fun place. I don't know how they make their French fries but they're clearly sprinkled in fairy magic because they're the best damn fries I've ever had in my life. The pool is still under construction so the view from my window wasn't great (though the night skyline view is nice) but hopefully they have it finished by summer. I think the spa is also closed right now.

Lezlee L.

Yelp
On hold for 10 minutes with a resort-seriously? I just had one question. Is your spa open? Called from a different phone. "Can I put you on a brief hold?" No! A brief hold is not 10 minutes and then he was rude to me for being bothered that I want to book three nights and spa but he is tooooo busy with people checking in. I have a $250 spa gift card. Are you going to even honor it? I cant ask the reservation desk because bless their hearts too busy and not enough help and they probably are not sure any way. I get being understaffed and overwhelmed but rude and poor attitude is not the Ritz Carlton way Or maybe it is now. So sad!
