"As the argument goes, the neighborhood's historic Chinese banquet halls have shuttered and been replaced, one by one, by a new wave of upscale restaurants that cater to customers who don't live in the neighborhood. So, Four Seas was replaced by Mister Jiu's." - Luke Tsai

"The atmosphere of the new Four Seasons Restaurant is compared to a haunting scene from 'The Shining'. The visit is described as dark and sad, with a reminder of one of the owner's past legal issues. The food is still expensive and not very good, though the classic cotton candy served on a silver platter was well-received." - Carla Vianna

You're stumbling through Chinatown, looking for some Dim Sum, and the Four Seas signage probably jumps right in your face. What-effa, let's walk up the stairs since the tummy won't stop rumbling and give it a try. Decor - outdated. Hmm, carpet is not the cleanest and overall the interior reminded me of some 80's movies. Large dining area with photos in the hallway, nice window front with an impressive view of Downtown and Chinatown. Service - attentive. They came around with Dim Sum to choose from every once in a while, and took the order pretty quickly. Food - nothing special. Relatively huge portions. Tried the Shrimp Fried Rice ($7, a bit plain), and a couple of Dim Sum ($3-5 each). They were not too big and came both steamed and fried. The shrimp dim sum tasted like pork though, not sure if it was me or if they just used a shrimp/pork mix. I'd recommend this place for larger groups as they have tons of space upstairs but the food quality was just average.

Having eaten in hundreds of restaurants all over the world, this is the first time I've ever been compelled to run home from a dinner out with my family and write a review. This place used to be a pretty decent dim sum restaurant and I've eaten there many times with family and friends, but now (tonight, July 5th '14) it is terrible. I can overlook the inconvenient parking, the indifference of the staff, even the generally run-down and unclean conditions.. if the food was at least decent, but the food was so bad that I feel a sense of duty to warn anyone who's even considering eating here. DON"T! We started with three little plates of dim sum: pork steamed buns (bland, and too sweet, but Ok) Pork, shrimp, and peanut dumplings were inedible, fishy and rotten tasting, we quickly shoved this gelatinous mass aside. Pork Dumplings were actually not bad but one was filled with pure cartilage and no meat. We had also ordered the Guangzhou family dinner for three. We hoped things would improve with these common, high volume dishes, but no. Here's the run-down: egg-rolls; greasy and bland, but edible. Won ton soup was actually pretty good. But the Chicken and shrimp stir fry: it's not that the shrimp were unfresh, they were almost putrefied. The smell was way off, texture was mushy, and the taste was of fishy ammonia which I had to spit out and then warn everyone. Really gross. The Spare-ribs we're sickeningly sweet. no discernible flavor other than sugar. Also grisly and tough. My daughter gave up trying to cut it with the knife they provided. Beef w/oyster sauce: this didn't seem rotten, it was just bland and grisly. Pork fried rice (how can anyone mess this up) was very bland, but with a big dollop of soy sauce, was edible, but by that point we had no appetite left. the waiter came to the table and, noticing that almost nothing was eaten from any dish, asked if we were done.. "Yes" Do you want to-go boxes? "NO".. they brought a check for $70.00 and we got the hell out of there. Needless to say, we'll never return. my stomach is still churning and I fear for tomorrow. In fact I don't think I'll ever eat at any other place in Chinatown either. It'll be quite a while before I can eat Chinese food anywhere again.. No wonder the place was empty on a Saturday night. I should have taken note of that when we walked in, and walked right back out. So gross. <shudder>

Decent DimSum. Cheap...($3 per choice)....left full, but didn't experience the "service and gourmet choices to the Hollywood Stars" that they boasted. More touristy than we were wishing for, but a good first stop in Chinatown.

This was barely OK food and HORRIBLE service. My wife and two children visited on Saturday for lunch. Not very crowded, lots of staff, but they were all very rushed and very annoyed. The treatment we had was without a doubt the worst I have ever experienced. The music was Christmas-like and sappy in JUNE and the wallpaper looked like something out of a bad disco - yellow/gold tinfoil looking. We will never go back to this place and you should avoid it as well.

Very old Chinese restaurant with not a high quality food. Dim sums were not very good, and seems not very fresh. I didn't finish my half Pekin duck. Service is OK, prices somehow low. There's probably a better Chinese restaurant in Chinatown!

This is what people in the backwoods of Texas would imagine Chinese food to be. Literally the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Microwaving frozen scallops at home with no flavor and save yourself a trip here.
