Yelp
Four Sisters Café, located the Roseville/Rocklin city limit line, opened in October 2012, and has quickly become a favorite breakfast and lunch restaurant of Roseville locals and "foodies all over western Placer County, and the greater Sacramento area. Why you may ask? ... this amazing restaurant offers fantastic "Americana" cuisine, served by friendly staff, along with great value in fine dining.
The dining room is mostly furnished with booths, and it divided by low partitions, to add to the cozy atmosphere the restaurant offers. The kitchen and breakfast counter are located at the rear of the restaurant, and the patio is off the right.
The patio is simply beautiful, as it's clean, well furnished and mostly enclosed. When I'm dining, if the option is available, I almost always choose the patio, as food always tastes better when it's enjoyed outside.
The patio has been mostly enclosed and extensively modified since my last visit back in June, 2016, as then it was shaded, but open to the elements. I confess I kind of missed the openness on this warm June morning, but the patio is now suitable for three season dining, which makes perfect sense.
From the "Eggsactly The Way You Like 'Em" section of the breakfast menu, I went with "Ham It Up" with potatoes as my side, and sourdough as my choice of toast. The menu describes this fine breakfast as, "A thick slice of applewood smoked Niman Ranch ham, grilled just enough to make you smile served with two large AA eggs." I describe the breakfast in simply one word... DELICIOUS!
In reality, it took me a minute or so to even cut into the steak, as I was simply savoring the amazing aroma of the ham steak and potatoes, which was so heavenly, I simply had to savor the moment.
The centerpiece of my breakfast was a thick, tender, juicy Niman Ranch ham steak, grilled just enough to sport attractive grill marks, and completely cook the side of ham to fork-tender goodness. This delicious steak was seasoned, tender, juicy and simply delicious, which was a great way to get my amazing breakfast started the right way.
Come for the ham, but stay for the potatoes! Over the years, Four Sisters Cafe has achieved quite a breakfast reputation among Roseville locals, and their amazing fried potatoes seem to take center stage. The potatoes are cubed to a uniform size, with skin left on, seasoned, and fried to a medium golden brown on one side, and a lighter shade of golden brown on the other sides which makes for a stunning side of potatoes! If that isn't enough, they're sprinkled with dill, and small slices of onion and bell pepper are added for additional flavor, which truly adds to the goodness, yet isn't enough to offend sensitive tastes. The fried potatoes are truly mind shattering!
I ordered my eggs fried over easy and they arrived as per my order, perfectly fried over easy.
I'm a meat lover, but as delicious as the potatoes and eggs were, I could easily pay a visit to this fine restaurant and hold the meat. The menu does sport a meatless selection called "Hold The Meat."
My breakfast included two slices of sourdough toast - my choice of toast - and a side of in-house made berry jelly on the side. The toast was toasted and buttered perfectly, and was great to enjoy with the ham, potatoes and eggs. I really don't have a sweet tooth, especially at breakfast, but since the jam didn't come from a jar, I could not resist sampling a bit of it on a piece of toast. The jam was great!
As an added bonus, a bottle of Cholula Mexican Hot Sauce was brought to my table, which really added a spicy touch to my breakfast, especially for the eggs. Cholula is made for breakfast!
After enjoying this amazing breakfast, I can understand how Four Sisters Cafe has become one of the top breakfast go-to restaurants in western Placer County, as the food, the friendly service and the atmosphere were simply amazing.
Friends and fellow "Yelpers," Four Sisters Cafe is 5-star dining, any way you look at it.
