The Best Coffee Shops in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"Old Town Scottsdale may be known for its nightclubs and high end boutiques, but Four-Till Four is making the case for an Old Town coffee scene. Established by Nico Samaras in 2015, with a sister location in Encinitas, this coffee haven blends his passion for specialty coffee with his love for automobiles. When it comes to their menu, there are no wrong choices, but a standout is the refreshing Matcha Bergamot Lemonade." - McConnell Quinn

If you are a coffee connoisseur, this is a must-stop! This coffee is so flavorful and not bitter at all! There are some unique syrups (I had a bergamot and fig mocha on ice) and you can customize your drinks. The only reason the atmosphere is 4 instead of 5 stars is there is no place to sit inside and it was so hot out on the patio; otherwise, the decor was cute.

Fourtillfour Coffee in Scottsdale is a small but iconic shop that blends specialty coffee with car culture. I first discovered it through Instagram, I visited one cars and coffee morning and it quickly became one of my favorite local spots. For me, its value comes from more than just the coffee but also the atmosphere, the community, and the unique connection between cars and coffee that makes it memorable. The Coffee is smooth and very tasteful, crafting your own drink to your own preference, And the community is amazing, its always a great time, seeing all sorts of very cool cars, I highly recommend if you are and even if your not into cars. Seating may be a little limited, but why would you want to sit when you have so many amazing cars to go and look at. Now as for wait time, you may have to wait on the more busy mornings, but its certainly worth it. And dont worry there is not shortage of parking, its a 3 minute walk from old town scottsdale with plenty of street parking, and even a valet parking just across the street if you really want. Overall an A+, very kind staff, an amazing atmosphere, I highly recommend coming on a cars and coffee almost every Saturday morning from 8 am - 10 am, and I recommend checking them out on instagram as well. Google
Fourtillfour Café in Old Town Scottsdale is my go-to spot! Their in-house roasted beans power up excellent espresso, pour‑overs, and seasonal drinks, consistently praised for great flavor. The stylish yet cozy interior, spiced with vintage car decor, feels modern and inviting. The patio is perfect for coffee dates, work sessions, or chill weekend mornings under the shade. I appreciate the friendly, efficient team and the community vibe, especially during Cars & Coffee events. A true local gem!

Google
I went for a cars and coffee and instantly fell in love with the staff and the atmosphere. Good coffee and baked goods. Decent prices

Google
This is a nice little cafe. They host different types of car shows every Saturday morning. Great place to meet people in the community.

Google
Smooth and subtle coffee with really wonderful notes. Two thumbs up! Very kind and friendly staff. Great weather today for the open door/outside line vibe. I got a vanilla oat milk latte, which is my standard when trying a new place, and it was very good!

Google
I honestly think this cafe is the best coffee shop in Scottsdale. They have house made syrups and my favorite is the Caramel Rosemary. This is truly the best. I always order it. They only have one size (16 oz) so I always get one or two extra. Forgot to mention, they are the kindest baristas ever. They will always greet you with a big smile.

Google
I was in Arizona just for a week but visited this place almost every day, it is very cool concept and friendly people who work there. Also, every Saturday they invite different people with interesting cars to show their cars for others. Coffee and snacks here are very tasty, recommend to visit this guys and find new friends while waiting for your coffee, cause there a lot of customers there!

Yelp
First time at Fourtillfour cafe in Scottsdale, AZ, and if I was a local, this spot would definitely be in my regular rotation! The cafe was situated in a very cute area with a line out the door. They don't have any indoor seating, but the weather was beautiful, so outside seating was perfect. The cashier/barista was so sweet and personable. I asked some questions about the latte flavors and asked her opinion on the choices I was deciding between. I landed on the Date Latte because it was a little less sweet than the other flavors, and I was drawn to its simplicity. This was a beautifully crafted latte. The steamed milk was the perfect consistency, and flavor was delicate and pleasant. The most exciting aspect of my visit was the unexpected latte art I received. It was an adorable kitty! That totally made my day, as I love cats so much! How did they know?! Fourtillfour is absolutely worth visiting. Whether you live nearby or are visiting from afar, I would highly recommend starting your day at this cafe.

Yelp
Really great spot for coffee and to enjoy the nice weather. The coffee shop overall is small but what ties it together is the seating it has outside. Coffee is great and the menu is simple and easy to order. Having some coffee and sitting outside early morning sets a really good mood for the day.
google avatar

Sarin P.

Yelp
Ok latte. There were four people behind the bar but it took about 15 minutes to get drinks out. A nice socialization spot with plenty of outdoor space. We also walked past them on Saturday and the car culture was fun to observe.
google avatar

Jessa K.

Yelp
Finally got the chance to try Fourtillfour coffee, and it definitely lived up to the hype! The staff were friendly, and my French Toast latte with oat milk was absolutely delicious. I love that all of their syrups are handmade. I'm already looking forward to coming back to reorder and explore more of the menu. Its location in Old Town with plenty of outdoor seating available. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Was in the area for a Saturday morning car meet and decided to wait in the long line for some caffeine. From another reviewer, they said the line went by quickly, but unfortunately I found it to be really slow. When we finally got to the front, I asked the ladies at the counter which latte they recommended. They were super friendly, and both said French Toast latte, so I went with the iced version. It didn't really taste much of French toast, so I was a little disappointed especially after waiting in line for so long. The vibe was really cute and I enjoyed the outdoor patio area. It was bustling with people and families enjoying a weekend morning.
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
Loved the French toast iced coffee, pumpkin spice, and that their syrups are all homemade. I don't get drinks with syrups otherwise and you can so taste the difference! Love the cinnamon, honey of it all and an adorable spot. 5 stars!!!!

Yelp
Fourtillfour has a lot of hype and hosts a great car meet as well. I went on a Saturday morning and it was super busy with a line wrapped out and around the building. It did move pretty quickly. Service was so friendly and I went with a caramel oatmilk latte and a cinnamon toast. Prices are on par and the wait wasn't long. The cinnamon toast was toasted a bit long and LOTS of cinnamon. I would try a bagel next time. The coffee had a good brew and no bitterness and plenty of flavor. Overall, it was a nice stop and I would definitely stop in again on a quieter morning.
google avatar

Bridget B.

Yelp
My local friend let me know this place always has a line - and it seems to be for good reason! The line took about 20 minutes to get through on a Saturday morning but we got our drinks quickly. The iced pumpkin lattes were absolutely delicious - not too overpowering and the coffee was still smooth. Definitely some of the best coffee i've had in the area. There is a decent amount of seating outside but the inside is small and not designed for loitering. Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Francis C.

Yelp
Absolutely love the bergamot latte and seasonal french toast latte here. I would probably pass on the black cherry latte. The coffee itself is super smooth, and the drinks are balanced. Every drink is delicious but not too sweet. Also, all their syrups are made in house which I honestly think should be the standard for coffee of this price, so I was happy to see it. Love this place, would go back again.
google avatar

Emily N.

Yelp
Cute place! Right next to the Scottsdale art district, which is a great place to walk around when the weather is a bit nicer! I came here with my friend, and the service and drinks were great! As a matcha connoisseur I would give it a 6.95/10 just because I chose the date syrup to be fun and it wasn't my fav lol. The ambience is cute though loved the vibes! One thing about this place is that there is only outdoor seating... so don't go when the weather is ridiculous otherwise cute place!
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
Being a coffee nerd/snob, I'm kinda particular when it comes to coffee...I know a good coffee when I taste it. This place is good. Had a great cappuccino. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was chill even though it was busy. Love the connection to the car community. I'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
This was my first stop of my one day of vacation prior to my three day long class in Scottsdale. After beating cancer I started rewarding myself prior to hard and difficult things because life is too short to delay your well deserved gratifications. I found this shop on Scottsdale Reddit under cool coffee shops to check out. I loved the concept of this shop and also loved the clever meaning behind the name. I wanted to buy a shirt but didn't want to be a phony since I don't own a unique luxury car. Maybe in the future I can come back with a Porsche 356? Hehe a girl can certainly dream.
google avatar

Riley B.

Yelp
I love this shop!! I would go all the time if it was closer. I highly recommend an iced cinnamon vanilla latte there :) their staff is very friendly and they have moved quickly every time I've gone!
google avatar

Annie A.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and cute/trendy place. My first time being in Scottsdale and we had our coffees each morning here. It was highly recommended by my sister and went 2 days in a row for our morning coffee and each day it was amazing. Had plain iced latte and vanilla ice latte and the last day we got pastries and bagels for our drive home and it was great.
google avatar

Todd J.

Yelp
The best coffee metro Phoenix. Homemade syrups.. This is in downtown old-town Scottsdale. Check out the weekend car gatherings. Porsche car weekend, VW weekends, and true super car weekends. Service is amazing. Relaxing outdoor patio vibe.

Yelp
As a Cali native, I try my hardest not to relate everything to my California experiences, but as a homesick Cali native, this coffee shop 100% reminds me of all my favorite Cali spots. First, I have to give a round of applause to the staff... they are truly the kindest and sweetest people ever, and they started off my experience in a phenomenal way. I also tend to judge a coffee shop based on how good their chai tea is lol and THIS COFFEE SHOP EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! This is now my favorite coffee spot in Scottsdale, and every time I'm in town, I'll make it my mission to visit. I'll be recommending this place to everyone I know!
google avatar

Yelp
It's a busy spot and caught our attention when we were walking around on Sunday, so we decided to come the next day. Very cute coffee shop with delicious brews! I got the bergamot oat latte and my husband got a cold brew. We each ordered the cinnamon toast and took some beans to bring home with us too. Nice space outside to sit and enjoy their coffee and treats.
google avatar

Kassey T.

Yelp
I had no idea this place was so popular!! The line was out the door and spilling across the sidewalk. I'm not going to lie, I felt a little out of place with my husband, toddler, and 2 month old. The crowd was definitely a young 20s crowd and everyone was wearing leggings and sports bras or some for athletic wear. The line did move very quickly and they had several baristas making drinks. My toddler loved the cars on all the shelves! I loved my rosemary caramel latte, which I ordered because it was so unique, and my husband loved his orange cold brew. My toddler liked the strawberry scone, although it didn't taste much like strawberry in my opinion. There was minimal seating, so we sat on the steps of the business next door. Overall, the coffee was great, but the street parking, lack of seating, and long line weren't my favorite.
google avatar

Katelyn W.

Yelp
Such a cute little coffee spot in Scottsdale. The menu was simple but still offered a variety of syrups for flavored lattes. They also had a small case muffins and pastries that looked homemade. The ordering process was fast, the barista was nice and drink was done quickly. I took mine to go but there was a number of outdoor seating spots for dine in. I'd return when I'm in town again!
google avatar

Masti L.

Yelp
I know we're spoiled in California with amazing coffee shops, so when I'm on the road, it's hard not to chase that same quality. We stopped here on our way to Sedona, and it didn't disappoint. It had a really cozy coffee shop vibe (not quite California, but still really inviting), and the coffee itself was great -- smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. We'll definitely be going back. Highly recommend if you're looking for good quality, well-crafted coffee drinks on the road.
google avatar

Yelp
Shop itself is cute and also a car club. Matcha wasnt that strong and just tasted like milk so the balance wasn't there
google avatar

Sharon H.

Yelp
An alright matcha latte, really good vanilla latte with almond milk. When I came in near closing, there was a semi-long line. Lots of merchandise and cutely decorated. Solid spot with seating outside of this small location.
google avatar

Meagan E.

Yelp
Warm staff. Cute patio on and off a small deck for hanging around. No indoor seating FYI. Lots of housemade syrup options. Best blueberry (/lemon) muffin Ive had in many years. Latte was solid. Got caramel and I coulda had a lil extra but I left happy both times. Almond, oat, & half & half for alt milk.
google avatar

Aubrey A.

Yelp
I absolutely love coming here. The staff is always so friendly and willing to share their favorite latte flavor combo, the space is perfect this time of year to just sit out and enjoy your cup of Joe, and the drinks are all phenomenal. I love the most that they make their own syrups in house (trust me you can TASTE the difference). I have ordered so many different flavor combos and each becomes my new favorite ( vanilla cinnamon, bergamot, spicy honey, spicy mocha, lavender vanilla, etc). The only thing I wish they had are different sizes for drinks. All their drinks come in one size only. Truthfully though? I would drink a gallon of this stuff if they'd let me. (:
google avatar

Anna R.

Yelp
5 starts for the ambience! Really cute little place. Had a lovely grassy area to drink coffee and a little inside area where you order. Was almost trailer like? Everyone drinking their coffees was in active wear like they were up early and were treating themselves afterward. It made for a nice ambience. I got one of the speciality drinks and it was pretty good! Would definitely return.

Yelp
I come to old town every weekend to workout and always have coffee in the same coffee shop. Today we decided to try a new one and I'm so glad it was fourtillfour. I loved my latte. I got it hot with almond milk and Chile honey syrup. Prop to them as they roast specialty coffee in house and they also make all their syrups in house. They also a good deal going on: buy a tin of coffee and get a free drip/drip. The place was packed and despite the long line the wait wasn't bad. I guess I know have 2 new fave coffee shops in old town.
google avatar

Ziad S.

Yelp
Small coffee joint tucked in the middle of main st old town. This is not the place to go if you're looking to sit and do work or come for an exceptional cup of coffee. The place is very small with only a couple outdoor seats and the prices are high for what you get. Their main attraction is the cars group they get but probably not somewhere to grab a cup as a regular.
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
The quality of the coffee and matcha is very high, friendly service but slow and long waits

Amy H.

Yelp
Visiting Scottsdale for the week. Seems like Scottsdale is does not have a huge coffee seen ( I am from Seattle). This place however did catch my attention! I had to stop by quite a few times during my week. They make their own syrups and in my opinion the french toast is the best. The barista's are really friendly and the ambience of the place and the events seem pretty cool. Would've loved to attend one.
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
This place deserves the hype. They have a classic offering of coffees, but with really great festive options each season. Super cute outdoor seating and very friendly staff. Dog friendly too, so who could ask for more? I got the seasonal spicy orange cold brew and wow, so good! No indoor seating so take advantage when we have gorgeous weather in the valley. Parking can be dicey since it's in old town Scottsdale, but it's worth the navigating.
google avatar

Lacy K.

Yelp
After grabbing a few books at The Poisoned Pen bookstore, I strolled over coffee. Spring in Scottsdale is beautiful, and Old Town is lively with spring training tourists all around. It was a gorgeous morning to hang in Old Town. The shop is in a small old converted garage attached to a building with multiple independent businesses in one room shops. Each weekend it's a hang out for car enthusiasts. It's such a cute little spot with trees and grass and room to move for little ones and furry ones. I wanted cold caffeine, and the baristas suggested a chili & maple iced latte. It was a perfect blend of slightly sweet with a little bite. I sat and read while I listened to the conversations around me from all of the out of towners. I really do love Arizona in the spring.
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
A little spot with great coffee and charm. The service was great as they answered all our questions. They have cars and coffee Saturday mornings too!
google avatar

Monique G.

Yelp
A friend and I came pretty late so there was no line or crowd. The service workers were kind and knowledgeable when I asked questions. We ordered the date vanilla coffee and the cinnamon vanilla coffee. The coffee was good and smooth with no bitterness, but I have had better. It wasn't amazing or anything, and they don't really offer baked goods or food items. The weird thing was that our coffees were different temperatures even though they came out at different times. Hers came out first, then mine second. Hers was lukewarm and mine was piping hot. I would come try this place if it is close by, but I wouldn't drive 20 minutes for it.
google avatar

Yelp
im visiting arizona for a week and tried my first matcha latte at this cafe. im from the bay area so i came in with high expectations and was severely disappointed. service: i ordered a matcha latte and a cinnamon vanilla latte. i didn't hear my name get called so i kept looking back to see if my drinks were done. even though it did not look like my drinks on the counter, i came after waiting like 10 minutes to check. the two drinks sitting on the counter were mine but they were both beige in color (indicating they were both coffee drinks). i grabbed them and walked away thinking "is this really what their matcha latte looks like?" so i turned back and asked if this was their matcha latte. the worker "oh this is supposed to be matcha?" even though the cashier wrote it on the cup... regardless, mistakes are okay and they were very quick to fix it by saying they would remake my drink. so i waited for my matcha latte, but when i finally got it i was severely disappointed. drinks: in my opinion, the matcha latte did not taste like it had any brown sugar syrup. it had no flavor or sweetness in this aspect. however, the matcha flavor itself was strong and i could tell it was good quality. the thing that really threw me off though was the aftertaste. it was like after every sip i was left with a sour taste on my tongue. not bitter, but sour, which makes me wonder if it was the milk? because of this i couldn't even finish the drink. the cinnamon vanilla one was much better, and that's coming from someone who doesn't even like coffee that much. they directly sprinkle cinnamon in there, quite a bit as well but i really like cinnamon so i did not mind this. still, it was a mediocre drink. price: the price is reasonable for what it is, but not for what you get. i wish it tasted better. atmosphere: the line was pretty long out the door since the cafe itself is very small, they have limited outdoor seating so i would suggest to grab and go if you plan to get a drink here. overall, the cinnamon vanilla latte is passable but the matcha is skippable. hopefully you find this helpful and you can try different drinks here.

Patty H.

Yelp
Wow....that is an amazing coffee shop. Simple offerings, house made syrups, and friendly staff. But honestly the coffee is crazy good. Seriously you gotta go!
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
I stopped by Fourtillfour after Cars & Coffee and was not disappointed! Everyone was friendly and my iced americano was perfect. I've had some pretty bland americanos but Fourtillfour's espresso really came through. Looking forward to trying their seasonal lattes!
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
Don't let the line deter you- it moves quick and is so worth it. I love the vibe on Fourtillfour! It is well decorated and designed in my opinion. The barista was so personable even on a busy morning. Coffee was quick to be made and was DELICIOUS. I had the cinnamon vanilla latte with oatmilk (a special I think?) and it tasted like cinnamon toast in a drink. It is something I am now on the hunt for from other shops. I will be back to try other drinks here whenever I'm nearby.
google avatar

Rudy C.

Yelp
Sometimes there's a line but there's good reason for it. My go-to spot for a red-eye every time I'm in town.
google avatar

Morgan Z.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick midday pick-me-up and we absolutely loved our drinks! We ordered a latte with rosemary syrup and a matcha latte with lavender syrup. They had house-made syrups that were delicious in both of our drinks! They also have bagels with either plain or dill, feta and cucumber cream cheese. We had already eaten otherwise I would have tried one of those too. The barista was friendly and our drinks came out pretty quick after ordering. I would definitely recommend stopping by to grab a drink to go or to enjoy it on their shaded patios!
google avatar

Gina D.

Yelp
My nephew told me about this cafe. He took me there this past weekend. The coffee and service were great! I had the orange spice cold brew, which I highly recommend!
google avatar

Joseph C.

Yelp
Stopped by Fourtillfour and it's definitely a vibe forward café. A lot of younger folks hanging out, taking pics, especially by the vintage Land Rover parked out front, very IG friendly setup. The space itself is clean and well designed, but honestly, the coffee was mid. Nothing bad, just nothing memorable. Worth a visit for the aesthetic and crowd, but not for the caffeine fix.
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
Yes, yes and absolutely YES! I went twice in a week. First I went to try it for the first time, then I went because I was invited to a cars & coffee event! So fun! I had a delicious iced latte. Customer service was so great. Both times! The event was packed out. The Porsche show was like a dream come true. That's my favorite/dream car. Waking up at 6:45 on a Saturday morning, to take photos of a 9-11 while drinking an iced latte, at 8:30 in the morning is my type of vibe. Met so many great people! Definitely coming back again! Enjoyed my experiences thus far!

CC S.

Yelp
Got an iced vanilla cinnamon latte after reading the reviews and glad I did. Great smooth, full bodied flavor without being overpowering or too sweet. Cute location and inside as well, will be coming back to try more items!
google avatar

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
Great Espresso and Service:) Love the maple lattes and outdoor seating they have. It is a small spot and is usually busy, but it's worth the wait
google avatar

Yesenia V.

Yelp
In the midst of shopping and restaurants. Super quaint corner coffee shop. Service was great and quick. Tried the iced cinnamon vanilla latte, coffee latte and mocha. All were really well made and delicious. Highly recommend if you are in the area!
google avatar

Melany M.

Yelp
This place is a cute little hole in the wall. I ordered a regular Matcha over ice and almond milk with a little dash of maple syrup. My Matcha was pretty good and seemed to be of high-quality. I appreciated the quiet scenery in the morning to be able to sit down, enjoy and relax.
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday around noon with our group of 14 girls. Street parking was easy to find. The coffee shop space is tiny, so there easily was a line out the door, but it moved pretty quickly. Other reviews had indicated the cinnamon vanilla latte was a favorite, so I decided on that. I appreciated the quick service - all of us in our group had our drinks within 10 minutes or so. As far as the coffee goes, I understand the increasing costs of ingredients and labor, but it's hard to justify a coffee greater than $8 (including tip), especially when 75% of the cup was ice. Very underwhelming for the price point. Other ladies in my group did express liking the matcha, so maybe it was just my drink of choice that was a miss.
google avatar

Jack S.

Yelp
Mother's Day, slightly busy but moved quick. Get to the counter where I'm greeted with a very happy (not Dutch happy thank god) but truly just joyful person. Helped my party of 5 get our drinks and received them surprisingly quick. Have to say, my iced mocha was the best I've had in some time. Everyone loved their drinks. Will be back. Again. And again. And probably again.
google avatar

Shane S.

Yelp
Great coffee and very personable service. The building is small and all seating is outside which really stinks during the summer months.
