"Fowl + Fare is an Oakland-based pop-up that’s making a fantastic fried chicken sandwich. Their version includes a nicely fried chicken thigh, creamy pear slaw, pickles, chipotle aioli, and a brioche bun (if you want an extra kick, order the citric hot). You can also have your fried chicken in loaded fries form, or with charred lemon pepper sauce—check their Instagram for menu updates. Fowl + Fare currently operates out of The Lodge on Piedmont Avenue." - julia chen 1, lani conway

"There’s only one thing on Fowl + Fare’s festival menu: a fried chicken sandwich, regular or hot. Inhaling the entire thing is the smart way to spend a precious 15-minute break in between sets. And if you’re still thinking about the sandwich during your post-OSL come-down, know that you can visit them at their regular location in Alameda for more fried chicken, plus burgers, biscuit sandwiches, and more. " - julia chen 1

"If you’re always on the lookout for the newest fried chicken sandwich, check out Fowl + Fare in Oakland. Their sandwiches change occasionally, but one they always have is the classic with chipotle aioli, pear slaw, and a fried chicken thigh. Others include a Mediterranean fried chicken sandwich with feta tzatziki, za’atar, and tomato mint jam, and one with bacon black garlic ranch. Fowl + Fare is usually at Port Kitchens Marketplace on weekends, but check their Instagram for pop-up days and location." - Julia Chen 1

Sitting out front STARVING on this cold Sunday night. Wanting a good fried chicken sandwich at 6:30pm and to find out they are closed. 30 minutes before their time. But we will be back Update this place was open and they had a great playlist playing. The food was sooo good glad I made the trip back! Citric Hot was personal my favorite. Unique flavors! Light and spicy!

Hey, have you ever found a place so good you can’t stop going back? That’s Fowl and Fare for me. Since they set up shop in Alameda, I’ve tried everything they’ve got. The man behind it all, Will, is not just awesome at making food; he’s also a big deal in making the community better through what he cooks. Let’s dive into the good stuff. The Jamaican Jerk has just the right kick of spice, while the Charred Lemon Pepper is something special, with its zingy sauce and super juicy chicken tucked into the softest bun you can imagine. And the pear slaw? It’s a game changer, trust me. Now, about where you’ll eat this amazing food. Inside, Fowl and Fare shares space with other cool food spots, so there’s always something for everyone. Prefer the fresh air? Grab a seat at one of the two tables on the patio and enjoy your meal outside. Don’t even get me started on the fries – they come with this unique spice blend that’s a little sweet and totally addictive. In short, if you haven’t been to Fowl and Fare, you’re missing out. It’s easily the best fried chicken sandwich place around here. So here’s what you need to do: Go to Fowl and Fare. Try these favorites. Sit inside or grab a patio spot. And enjoy one of the best meals you’ll have in the Bay Area. Seriously, go. You’ll thank yourself later.

Google
In fear of the long lines I got there early, it was a Friday and I didn’t wanna risk wasting my time. Quick tip: the earlier the better when they done they done. From order to finish it only took about 10min. I got the Original with a side of fries. Next time I think I’ll go for the spicy option but I wanted to be safe on the first try. Original Chicken Sandwich: Brioche Bun, fresh slaw, crispy juicy fried piece of chicken and a house sauce. Fries: well seasoned and crispy fresh

Google
The greatest fried chicken sandwiches in the Bay Area, maybe the entire state. The citric hot is the greatest but they’re all outstanding. And the proprietor is a really nice guy too. He really cares about your experience

Google
Super delish. My first time here. Remember it’s a Bar, bring ID and good vibes! Old Timey bar feeling with a crazy good chicken sando and fries to boot. This ain’t drunk food, it’s up there with the best the bay area has to offer. Come support these hard working people!

Google
Amazing fried chicken sandos, personally really like the jerk chicken and the citric hot. Also don't skip the fries, super well seasoned.

Love Me

Google
My daughter and I just dropped in on the 4th of July. Pleasently suprised. Jerk chicken sandwich has great flavor, just enough heat and not a messy sandwich. As a lover of a good roll, this hit the spot.

Google
I recently visited Fowl + Fare with high expectations due to the glowing reviews, and they did not disappoint! The spicy chicken sandwich and seasoned fries were some of the best I’ve had in the Bay Area. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with just the right amount of heat. The fries were seasoned to perfection. The atmosphere was stylish yet cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The attention to detail in both the food and service really sets Fowl + Fare apart. Highly recommend this place – it’s a must-try for anyone in the area! I left completely satisfied and can’t wait to return.

Yelp
Fowl + Fare is perched @Flavor Island after roosting at The Lodge for a time. 2 tables inside & 2 tables outside for dining . Soul music in background. Order at counter. Pay. Eats cooked to order. Ready in 5ish minutes. Offerings: Chicken sandwiches, fries, soft drinks. Bites: Jamaican Jerk Fried Chicken Sandwich (17) -large piece of thigh meat fried perfecto with thin, light crunchy crust. Brioche bun pillowy melt in mouth quality. Meat semi-moist, semi juicy. Not dry. -seasoned with house made jerk sauce, mayo, balanced with pear slaw, cabbage, & charred scallion aioli. -each bite had a complex nuanced layering of flavas. Jerk flava not overpowering. yum! Deliz! 5 stars Worthy! May repeat with other sandwiches.

Yelp
Tried Fowl + Fare for the first time and it was pretty solid! I got the jerk chicken sandwich, and I'd rate the taste a strong 8.5/10. The flavors were great, and the sandwich was well-made. The only downside is the lack of indoor dining--just two benches out front if you want to eat on-site. Overall, it's a good spot for a quick and flavorful bite if you're in the mood for a chicken sandwich!

Aaron B.

Yelp
Had the classic chicken sandwich today. The bun, veggies, and sauce were very good. Pickles were fresh, and crunchy. The drawback was the chicken patty. It was not what I was expecting, as it was chewy, stringy, and maybe could have been cooked a bit longer. Definitely was not as crispy as i was expecting. Could have been just poor luck with the draw, but we will see. Fries were excellent. Seasoned well, and just the right amount of crispy. The dipping sauce was excellent too. Same as on my sandwich. Service was really good, and very friendly. Need to stock up on the drinks! They were very limited today, and I'm sure the drink delivery guy was just very late. Outside seating area was comfortable, although windy. It was difficult to keep items from wanting to fly away during the meal. I'll update this review later after another visit.

Yelp
So this place was very what can I say interesting. Truth me told it's so in the cut with not much signage that we drove right past it. Then we parked and ended up walking right past it. Sad to say the food was not top notch. The fries tasted old like they fried them earlier in the day and then refried them once we ordered them. We sat outside because it was scorching inside. They didn't have what I wanted which was the box so I settled for the chicken sandwich which was meh. Didn't taste as seasoned as I expected it would. They also had no drink options. If you don't drink Coke or you expect a variety don't even think about it. Plus they brought our food outside and just set it in the table. My fries were falling out onto the nasty outside table where we had to lay down napkins to keep them from being wasted. They need to use trays or baskets or something. I feel bad giving them such a hard time but in all truth I am just hoping they make the necessary changes because if not I don't see this place lasting much longer. We more than likely won't be back.

Briana V.

Yelp
Fowl + Fare was pretty good. They make a great lemon pepper chicken sandwich and they have great sauces that you could either put on the sandwich or use them as dipping sauces. The fries were just okay, I prefer them to be a bit fresher along. The chicken could be a little bit more moist but overall a good sandwich for lunch time. Really great personable customer service which is always a plus,

Sanna A.

Yelp
Halal chicken spot! First time here. Only down side was they ran out of sides 3 hours before they closed. Sandwich was solid.

Wing L.

Yelp
Small unassuming shop with one person taking orders and one person preparing the food. There's a water station and a fridge if you're interesting in purchasing drinks. Two small tables inside, so not the best for large groups. When we sat inside to eat, we did notice small bugs on the floor...might be because the doors opened and they do have an indoor planter by the wall. Citric hot - 4.5/5 good amount of heat which is nice since I usually find things to not be spicy enough. I didn't love the lemon flavor, wish there was an option to not have that but my bf enjoyed it. The chicken was not dry at all which I really appreciate. They use dark meat which was a nice touch. I would prob order this one again when I come back Black Garlic - 4/5 good crispy sandwich, not enough garlic though. I personally didn't taste much garlic when I tried it. Fries - 3/5 I asked for this to be extra crispy and the person at the counter said they already do their fries extra crispy. It was not extra crispy...came out soft and I didn't really care for them. They're sweet and comes with an aioli for dipping. Costed $6 which is a lil hefty price tag for fries.

Dan V.

Yelp
Wow! Really good fried chicken sandwiches. Chicken came out crispy and juicy and the flavor combinations were great. The Jamaican jerk had a subtle heat to it (not that spicy) and the jerk sauce was really flavorful but eats a little too salty for me. The charred scallion aioli also added a nice smokiness to it. Would like some acidity to balance out the saltiness like pickles or something. Citric hot is SPICY, nice heat and good flavor throughout. The pickles in this helped provide some acidity which was nice. Fries are great too. Very small shop, so dine in is limited. Come support this business!!

Yelp
Fowl+Fare wasn't our original destination, but it definitely will be in the future. The spot we were going to was on vacation and this popped up and I knew we had to go. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by two men who clearly love the food here. The cashier was really helpful in breaking down the menu for us. The chef in the back was so helpful and you could tell he really loved what he was making and wanted to make sure it was good for his customers. My boyfriend wanted light spice so the cashier recommended the lemon pepper with some mild spice added. It was the perfect recommendation and had just enough heat for him. I was intrigued by the pear slaw on the citric hot and I really enjoyed the balance between the refreshing was of the slaw and the heat of the burger. The chicken was fried perfectly and I was crunching the whole way through. There are just two tables inside (also two bigger tables outside) and we happened to sit next to a regular who calls this the best spot in alameda. He put us onto the banana pudding, which is a MUST order. The flavors are yummy and the texture is perfect. The portion size is also great because the burger will fill you up so you'll have more banana pudding for later

Cindy D.

Yelp
Small spot next to an Indian grocery store, only street parking available. There's not a lot of seating inside but there are two picnic benches outside. No frills. Chicken sandwiches and fries. The chicken is well seasoned, perfectly crispy, and pairs beautifully with the slaw and brioche buns. The fries were nice and the seasoning was delicious. Note: if you can't handle spice, probably not the place for you because there's a hint of heat in every bite.

Sarah A.

Yelp
If you're craving some tongue-tingling tangy flavors, this is the place for you! Just when I thought the fried chicken craze was slowing down, I saw this spot pop up in their new location on Alameda's main island just off of Park Street. Hubs and I decided to try it when our Saturday errands ran into lunchtime. The flavors at Fowl + Fare make a classic crispy chicken and dill pickle or even a Nashville hot chicken sandwich seem bland and boring. We ordered the classic chicken sandwich (which is actually mildly spicy itself), and the citric hot. The citrus flavor was unlike anything I've ever tried, making every bite intriguing. The pear slaw and unique seasoning blend elevate the flavors and set this chicken sandwich apart from the next. Even the fries come with a zesty flair that tastes like a sweetened jerk spice blend. Chef knows what he's doing. The dining room is rather small, so consider grabbing your order to go. While you're waiting, you can buy a craft beer or two from next door to enjoy with your gourmet meal at home like we did.

Yelp
Ordered the jerk chicken and lemon pepper an and fries. I rather enjoyed my meal and found the jerk chicken to have the right amount of heat. It was a lil on the salty side for me though. The slaw was good, wouldn't mind having that as a side dish or more in the sammich. The lemon pepper seasoning tastes fresh, like real lemon zest was involved so I'll probably get that next time. All and all, it's a good small lil spot for a quick thigh meat fried chicken sandwich.

Winnie V.

Yelp
Just tried Fowl and Fare for the first time today! I LOVE fried chicken sandwiches and never knew there was a good chicken sandwich spot in Alameda, so I was super excited to check it out. I got the citric hot chicken sandwich cause we like some spice around here, and girlll it was spicyy! I feel like I have a pretty good spice tolerance and this wasn't unbearable, but the spice overshadowed the flavor of the chicken. It was a mix of a dry spice rub and a spicy oil and spicy aoli with a hint of tang. The pickles and slaw were a nice balance for the chicken and the brioche bun was good, but I just wish I could taste more of the flavor! The fries were good. They had a nice Cajun seasoning similar to Popeyes fries. Overall, I'd come back again, maybe to try some of their other sandwiches, but it's not the best chicken sandwich I've ever had.

Daniel S.

Yelp
Fowl Fare is located in front of Kaiser , it's probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I've i had . And I went in and had two because of hype on social . I got the charred lemon pepper sandwich. I had never seen this kinda option offered , everyone everywhere else does the hot chicken ones and those are cool but it's so much better that this one is different in that regard. The chicken was well seasoned , juicy and crunchy . I washed it down with a modelo lol . The classic was awesome and honestly had the most original taste of a chicken sandwich I've had in such a long time . You can tell the chef put a lot of care in the recipe for this one and I hope y'all keep frequenting this business so they can open longer. They typically open at 5 pm and go on till 10 . They are only accepting Venmo at the moment .

Lani N.

Yelp
We came here for lunch the other day. The chicken sandwiches are amazing. My Dad got the Citric, I got the Jamaican, and kiddo got the Classic. We also got an order of fries and drinks. The Citric is spicy hot and delicious, everyone's idea of spicy is different... this one was flavorful, spicy, and also had my nose running. The Jamaican was delicious too. And the Classic was great too. The fries were seasoned, hot, and crispy. Kiddo loved them. Their chicken Sammie's are very generously portioned with a huge piece of chicken. Super friendly owner. I love when a restaurant does one thing really well, and Fowl + Fare has it down. I do secretly wish they had tenders or nuggies, but I'll take the chicken sammie any day, it's DELISH!

Perry W.

Yelp
I love fried chicken sandwiches, especially hot ones, so I was stoked to try this place out. Ordered a couple of the citric hot, a couple classics, and an order of fries for the family. Fowl + Fare is run by a super nice dude, and I'm happy to see new businesses on this side of the island. Their style of hot chicken sandwich isn't really my cup of tea though. It was just too sour tasting for me, but I did think their seasoning worked well on the fries. The buttermilk was decent, but nothing special. Would probably give these guys another try if they offered a more traditional Louisiana hot chicken sandwich. If Yelp allowed half stars, I'd definitely give this place a 3.5

Lanny B.

Yelp
Ordered for delivery and it was great!! I had the Classic Chicken sando and, as others have said, it was juicy, flavorful and has me thinking of all the friends and family I want to recommend Fowl + Fare to!! Even after the delivery ride, the batter was crunchy and the sandwich hot. The bun was delish and the aioli and garnishes were tasty!! I'm going to go back (or go in for the first time, actually) and have the Lemon Pepper version and more!

Kevin H.

Yelp
NGL this is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. Got the citric hot sandwich per their recommendation and it changed my life.

Richard E.

Yelp
I've been catapulted out of Yelp retirement by the sublime perfection of the chicken sandwiches at Fowl + Fare. The chicken is tender and rich, the breading feels perfect and carries so much of their well-crafted flavors. The sauce and slaw gives variation and balance, and the bun is pillowy. The vibes are so good whenever I pick up a takeout order, and I always leave with a smile on my face. I'm taking everyone I know to the shop, and I'm going to be an absolute fixture.

The Greasy G.

Yelp
The owner Will not only makes a hella of a sandwich but knows how to make his customers actually feel like CUSTOMERS. Thank you Will, I will be frequenting your establishment from here on out. Great food, great business ethic, great attitudes all around.

Mike E.

Yelp
2 stars as in everything was edible, though disappointing. Would not recommend, will not be going back. I got the classic chicken sandwich. I don't know what the hype is about - these are not fresh chicken sandwiches. I'm pretty sure what I got was a frozen chicken patty refried to order. Chicken wasn't crispy and tasted low-quality. As for the rest of the sandwich, the slaw and sauce saved the day and at least made it able to finish for lunch. Though I wouldn't pay money for this again. Service friendly enough. Location easy to miss.

Karla G.

Yelp
Crispy. Juicy. Full of flavor! I loved it! I yelped this place and instantly was sold by the Charred Lemon Pepper Chicken Sandwich - it did not disappoint! I will be back!!!

Rose H.

Yelp
This was the first place at outside lands where I was like okay yes the food here is good. I got the citric and the slaw with the heat was soooo good. For the sandwich, it was chicken thigh and super juicy!! 10/10

Allyson U.

Yelp
This shop is located inside The Lodge and operates out of the kitchen, just beyond the bar. We ordered via QR code, which was an easy process. I ordered fries and a black garlic fried chicken sandwich. The food took about 10 minutes to arrive and it looked great! apologize for the terrible photos of the fries--it does not so then justice. The chicken sandwich was so flippin' tenderrrrrr! My friend had the lemon pepper and I think I preferred the flavor over the black garlic. I think the little kick of acid was something I was missing in the black garlic sammie. The fries were crispy and delicious! I can't wait for my next trip!

Tony G.

Yelp
Heard about this spot for a while and finally had a chance to try it. Legit! Super juicy plump chicken breast super flavorful and good portion. Somewhat spicy. Just the way I like it. Fries were okay but the chick-sandwich was super legit. I would definitely come back for another on

Leo M.

Yelp
I decided to try their citric hot chicken and Jamaican jerk chicken sandwiches. Both sandwiches tasted great! However, the Jamaican jerk sauce didn't actually taste like jerk chicken. The chicken was very juicy and moist, but was much smaller in size than pictured on the website and the batter wasn't very substantial in terms of texture or taste. Overall, $15-18 for a sandwich is a bit expensive, but overall a pretty tasty sandwich that's worth a try.

Anita W.

Yelp
Delicious fried chicken sandwiches. Nice variety. Meat is tender and moist, not dry, which a lot of fried chicken sandwiches are. Can be a bit messy with sauce for my taste, but most people like that. Sauce has a kick but not too much.

Alex D.

Yelp
Best fried chicken sandwich in the game!! 1st time going to their new Alameda location, and wow lemme tell ya, the best. Today, I got their Fowl Biscuit sandwich, a preorder only weekend special, came with a beautifully buttered biscuit, topped with gravy and an absolutely crispy n juicy chicken in between those biscuits (the cetric hot flavor to be exact, too good, also sorry I was too hyped to take a pic)! Their regular menu is exceptional as well, I've previously ordered the original chicken sandwich, and the quesabirria fried chicken sandwich, both were mind blowing!! Dope new location near Park St. and great customer service! You'll be seeing me here often, the food is too good not to come back.

Donald H.

Yelp
Super great spot in an off the normal area kind of location. It's a cute little walkable area you may have forgotten about (I did). Ordered online and as I was walking up the guy who was supposed to give the food/take orders was walking out for a sec to do something but saw a customer coming in and immediately turned around to make sure I was taken care of. This is the mentality I wish I saw more of these days. Take pride in what you do people. Then there's the food, totally bomb. Loved it. The fries and that aoli are great so make sure to get extra, they are not stingy. Then the sandwiches were so flavorful and tender, there's just nothing bad to say about it. Although I can't edit to get back and try the Citrix sandwich. Oh and they are very responsive on their IG too. Make sure you go here ASAP!! https://www.instagram.com/fowlfare?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Sheila J.

Yelp
My foodie friend Bri took me here one night after saying I NEEDed to eat these chicken sandwiches. Ordering was seamless and we ended up dining in. The chef was so nice which made it an even better experience. We were able to get our hands on the coveted fried chicken sandwiches and fries. Everything was SO delicious and flavorful. Truly top tier. I'll be back again and again. The chicken sandwich was definitely one of the best I have eaten in Oakland .

Asia H.

Yelp
This chicken sandwich was phenomenal and very high quality, the fries were even top tier, super crispy and everything. I ordered through DoorDash so I figured the quality would go down because of that but Nooooo, it was absolutely perfect!! As if I dined in. Keep killin it, chicken sandwiches are easy to find but GOOD chicken sandwiches are not. Thank you for restoring my faith

Lauryn L.

Yelp
Wow, I inhaled my sandwich so fast I forgot to take a picture - if you're in Alameda, PLEASE get a chicken sandwich from this man! I tried the Citric Hot, Lemon Pepper and Pineapple Habanero. None of the sandwiches have disappointed me so far. Honestly this place ruined chicken sandwiches for me...because I know no other place can do it like Fowl + Fare. I feel like I would be cheating on this place if I got a chicken sandwich elsewhere.

Kelly C.

Yelp
The best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. Don't know how this place doesn't have a line around the block at all times. The Citric Hot is where it's at

Evelyn S.

Yelp
Had the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich today and am still thinking about it 6 hours later. My God it was good. Friendly customer service as well from Dave and the chef, Will. You can tell this guy loves what he does and we're all happier customers for it. Thanks for bringing your business to Alameda, Will. We will be coming back soon. Also, I would have taken a picture of my delicious sandwich but there was no time to. It was in my belly stat. Super delicious. I know this place won't be a secret for long. Tell your friends. This place deserves all the customers.

Ngao A.

Yelp
I'm so glad to finally get to enjoy the sandwiches from here again. Once again - Delicious. Quality did not disappoint, and in comparison to when fowlfare was in oakland, I'm soooo glad the parking is so much more convenient now. Thank you guys for a delicious late afternoon lunch. Every bite was savored. Fries were perfection. We will be back. Service was great. Friendly. Welcoming, patient when I did not know what I wanted originally. Ambiance, nice small dining area, can only seat a few customers.

Jette A.

Yelp
Headed to the airport with limited time ,we decide to check this place out. I'm so glad we did. My partner loves fried chicken sandwiches more than I do, but after trying the classic sandwich, I'm hooked. Well balanced with the slaw, pickles and chipotle aioli. Shoe string fries with the best seasonings. I couldn't get enough of it. I may have to stop by again when I'm back in town.

Jillian N.

Yelp
I came here to try the chicken sandwiches. I got the classic chicken sandwich and the lemon pepper chicken sandwich. We also got the fowl fries. I'm pretty impressed with the sandwiches. They are a little pricey in my opinion to not come with sides but it was still good. The chicken was seasoned nicely and juicy, the slaw makes it have a little tang in my opinion, and the aioli was good too! It is a bar so I was carded upon entry but I ran in and grabbed my food and left. The ambiance was busy and bar like.

Jared M.

Yelp
Best chicken sandwich of my life. You will not regret it! Believe me! No really, Believe me!

Mike G.

Yelp
"Read the sign and just walk away" That's what whoever was working in there snarked at me as I came up to the door on a day they're advertised as being open. Didn't even give me time to read the sign that said they were closed until Saturday (totally understandable by the way). Crazy way to greet a new potential customer though. If that was the owner I'm happy not to come back. If that was an employee, I'd be mindful of who I had shouting out the door at potential customers. Maybe this place is just too cool for that. Or maybe this place is just the exception to the difficulties small businesses are having to stay open these days. Oh well...guess I'll go get an overpriced chicken sandwich somewhere else. Thanks

Kimberly V.

Yelp
Ok this has to be one of the best hot chicken sandwiches in the Bay Area, and I am a huge hot boys fan. The seasoning to this hot chicken is perfection, solid spiciness with a hint of citric which makes it stand out compared to other hot chicken sandos I've had. The location is in a up and coming area of Alameda, just off of Park Street and next to other cute restaurant/bars. The place is small but has a table inside and one outside if you'd like to enjoy your meal right away. I liked the small thin fries, but the sandwich was the star of the show. Ask for the aoili sauce and the spicy oil sauce on the side to dip with your fries. No line on a Sunday at 2pm. Service was great as the owners (I assume) asked us how we enjoyed our food. I will definitely be back!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Pretty sure I died and went to burger heaven after the first bite. It was like a mashup of In-N-Out and and a gourmet burger. The caramelized onions, aioli sauce, house made pickles, beautiful beef patties and brioche bun made music in my mouth. Ughh, ridiculously good. On to the chicken sandwich. Holy smoke Fowl + Fare nailed it! The breading is perfectly seasoned, and crispy, and it actually adheres to the chicken after each bite! The chicken sandwich is fire, and the citric hot sauce is well balanced (we asked for it on the side :-). Lastly, and not to be underestimated, are the French fries. Imagine elevated McDonalds fries. Same shape but a bit crispier and with a meticulously blended season. Damn, they were good! Fowl + Fare nails it! Plus, the cook/owner seems to have a passion for dishing up amazing food. Thank you Fowl + Fare!

Yelp
This place serves really juicy and delicious fried chicken sandwich. The owner Will runs the kitchen himself and takes the time to speak to his customers - super friendly guy! We came here on a Wednesday night and was able to get a table. Wasn't crowded but most of the tables were filled up. It's located at a bar called The Lodge and they had a $7 beer + shot special which we took advantage of. Located across from Oakland Kaiser, parking is mostly street parking. Lots of food establishments nearby as well. The first bite into the sandwich was amazing - juicy chicken that complimented the slaw and pickles, plus the aioli sauce. Everything except the buns are made from scratch which is quite impressive. A lot of work and effort goes into making each sandwich, which explains the high price but it's worth it. I also loved the fries, its seasoned well and was addicting. I got the citric hot and others in my group had the lemon pepper. Citric hot had a slightly more kick, but it wasn't more than a mild medium spice (I eat a lot of spice). The lemon pepper is much milder and has a lemon kick to it. I forecast this place will gets its own restaurant/shop in the near future! There are other items in the menu that I'd come back to try. Will come back here soon!

Yelp
We got a butter chicken & a classic chicken & an order of fries. All were mediocre. There are really good chicken sandwiches a couple blocks away & that's where we'll go next time. Meh.

Yelp
The Charred Lemon Pepper was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The outside was nice and crispy even with the slaw, and extremely juicy well-cooked chicken. I don't even like slaw usually on my sandwiches, but this pear slaw, I wanted an extra side of it. I only wish you could order sides of individual sauces. But this is absolutely a new favorite restaurant and absolutely love supporting a black-owned delicious place! So glad to have this place right across the green bridge

Yelp
Chicken was pink and raw as well as thick and chewy. Took 2 bites and went into the garbage. 0-10

Yelp
We're thrilled to have discovered this gem in Alameda. We indulged in two of their special biscuit chicken sandwiches, and they were a delight. The chicken had just the right amount of spiciness, paired perfectly with the ideal ratio of gravy to biscuit, resulting in an outstanding fried chicken sandwich experience. The biscuit itself was flawless. Even the kids enjoyed splitting a non-spicy chicken sandwich and raved about it. We'll definitely be returning for more

Yelp
Finally checked this place out and it did not disappoint. We had the classic chicken sandwich, jerk chicken sandwich and fries. Easily the best fried chicken sandwich we've had. The bread was soft, the chicken was big and flavorful, and the sauces were perfect. The seasoning on the fries was also great and its even better with the aioli dipping sauce. Will be coming again for sure!

Yelp
Tried this spot for the first time and will definitely be back. The Citric Hot Chicken Sando is where it's at. So good. Also, online ordering was seamless.
