I've wanted to visit for a feed for a while so we decided to drive up and head in on a whim just as the kitchen opened on Saturday evening. Served with fresh ale and sat immediately, we were. What a treat. The pork chop and steak were delectable, as were the sides of tenderstem and carrots. Managed to squeeze in a wedge of the spiced plum tart, which, I reckon, I could eat endlessly. The service, too, was excellent, and the atmosphere relaxed. I could have sat and sipped and nibbled all night, but we had to get home to the mutt.
What a beautiful pub and dinner. I look forward to returning.
