Haven Farm-to-Table Restaurant Opens at Fox Point Farms in Encinitas - Eater San Diego

"Fox Point Farms Brewing Co. is an organic brewery that incorporates hops and other homegrown ingredients into its beer lineup. It is helmed by Brian Carl, who is also overseeing a roastery that will eventually use beans from the farm's own coffee plants." - Candice Woo

Fox Point Farms is such a beautiful place and very kid-friendly, which is great for families. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. Still worth a visit for the atmosphere!

It was a lovely setting, well-executed - the restaurant was somewhat disappointing, the food was average, and it lacked creativity. Pricing was fair, yet the evening missed the excitement. The organic grocery shop and organic tap beers are upgrading the stop.

We hosted our son’s Wedding Rehearsal Dinner at Fox Point Farms Haven out on the Nest Patio, and it was perfect! The food, drinks, service and atmosphere was on point. Our party of 33 people were able to get up and socialize as well as make a long table for a sit down dinner. Not a single complaint-everyone raved over the event.

My wife and I visited Haven this last Friday night as we had never been tho we live so close in the area. While the seating arrangement was odd as we walked up the steps, they said we’d wait in the lounge area for drinks only, as they weren’t serving food there. We were in no hurry, but weren’t that hungry either and could’ve easily noshed on something. But we let that go. As we had toured the surroundings previously, we were eager to see what the restaurant would be like, and we were not disappointed. The ambience was relaxing, the stone fireplace and greenery everywhere with high glass ceilings was really impressive. Tho we waited for quite some time for our drinks as the server was busy, when they did come she said they’d be comped which surprised and pleased us. Later we moved to the bar and were more surprised to feel a warmth of atmosphere and clientele around us. The staff, bartenders and servers ingratiated themselves with us as such that we felt very welcomed. To our amazement, we found out that the chef was from the Caribbean and that the food was inspired with the Caribbean flair. Having spent time in the Caribbean, this was particularly heartwarming. Their special hummus with farm to table, tomatoes and herbs were especially delectable. The hummus was served with a side of huge fried plantains. This was a delicious treat. Our main course was the roasted chicken Caribbean style, which was moist and tender and seasoned to perfection. What seemed like an off night had turned into a special occasion made more memorable as we were honored to meet the head Chef Kelsten, who came out to greet us personally and present us with a Caribbean pastry that was just divine. One could not ask for a better dining experience, much less locally. Special shout out to our waitress Jess, bartenders Max and Anthony and the whole crew at Haven, who made an ordinary Friday night feel quite unforgettable.

I recently visited Fox Point Farm with my family and had a good time, but I left feeling a bit underwhelmed for the price. We paid nearly $115 for 3 adults and 2 children, but the experience lasted less than 50 minutes. The animal meet and greet was about 20 minutes, and the tractor ride wasn't much longer. It just didn’t feel like enough activity for the cost. That said, the atmosphere is great, and it’s a wonderful place for kids to run around and play—especially with the large log playground, which made hanging out afterward more enjoyable. The food and drinks were decent but a bit pricey, so I’m glad we brought snacks from home. The staff was incredibly polite and accommodating, which I really appreciated. Still, despite the positive environment and friendly service, I just can't justify the high cost for what you get. If they offered a bit more in terms of activities or extended the duration of the attractions, it might feel more worth it.

Nice place for kids and families but a bit overpriced for coffee and pastries. Kids petting area is nice, you can feed the farm animals. A brewery is opening soon and would be worth a visit.

The selling tactics used by Shea are shameful. Many homebuyers joined the Fox Point Farms priority list years ago, only to later be told the list was discontinued because it had “too many people.” Fast forward a few years, and now we’re seeing those same homes hitting the market at nearly double their original prices. I’ve toured several open houses, and every time the realtor offers some flimsy excuse about why the owners are “suddenly” selling after just a month of living there. The rumor is that Shea gave friends and family first access to purchase at low prices, only for those buyers to flip the homes for massive profits. It’s unethical, it’s exploitative, and Shea should be held accountable. Frankly, there should be laws in place to prevent this kind of manipulation of homebuyers.

Very popular place to visit. The market has some interesting items, bought quite a bit. There is a farm experience with a guided tour and animals for $15. There is a restaurant upstairs- the food was sooo good! They also have a brewery. Fun place alone or with the kiddos!
