On the Grid : The Fox Theatre

"The Fox Theatre, a world-renowned event venue on Peachtree Street, began its story in a most unusual way. In 1928, the Fox was originally conceived as a home for Atlanta’s Shriners organization. The Shriners looked to the ancient temples of the Far East to inspire a mosque-style structure. Ultimately, the design became more of a financial burden than the Shriners could bear. Shortly before its completion, the Shriners leased their beautiful auditorium to William Fox. With his backing — the project cost more than $3 million, the equivalent of nearly $40 million today — the 250,000 square foot theatre was completed. It opened on Christmas Day in 1929 to a sold-out crowd, premiering Steamboat Willie, Disney’s first cartoon starring Mickey Mouse. Today, its unique architecture continues to dazzle crowds and draw top entertainment. Next time you catch a show, make sure to look up and enjoy the star-speckled ceiling." - Son&Sons

Haunted Restaurants, Bars, and Hotels in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"It’s a well-established fact in Atlanta that the Fox is haunted. There are even ghost tours at the 90-plus-year old Midtown theater around Halloween. Over the years, staff and theater patrons claim to have seen apparitions of women and a Confederate soldier walking throughout the building and doors shutting suddenly and experienced unexplained cool breezes. One story involves the backstage elevator, which automatically stops at the fourth floor. Many believe it’s the ghost of a woman who lived and died in the apartment there. Don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a shadowy figure or feel a sudden chill while sipping champagne in the lobby during intermission or headed to the concessions stand or restroom." - Beth McKibben

Art and Culture in Atlanta

"Built in the late 1920s, the Fox Theatre’s ornate design was inspired in part by the Alhambra in Spain, making for an awe-inspiring and unique interior. Today the theater hosts musicals, concerts, comedy acts, and more, and it recently added a Marquee Club that gives ticketed visitors access to several chic bar areas and a rooftop lounge with a view of the Beaux Arts-style hotel, The Georgian Terrace." - MATADOR_NETWORK

I absolutely love the Fox! It is classy, and people know how to act! I like to go where people know how to act! I have been here many times and seen plays from Tyler Perry to The Color Purple! Comedy shows ranging from Chris Tucker to Kountry Wayne! I always have a great time at the Fox! I started taking my oldest son and now I take my youngest. They are 12 years apart. The Fox has never disappointed me.

First time visiting here & seeing Joe Bonamassa front row! The Fox Theatre has been on my bucket list to see for a long time & I was in awe of the place! We finally got to see Bonamassa & he didn’t disappoint!!!! They played their a*es off. What a tight band! He was phenomenal & our hope is he’ll come back in the future. I would love to be there! Don’t pass up a chance to see this artist if you can, you will not be disappointed. Thank you to my best friend for taking me here & to see Bonamassa!! I absolutely loved it! Such an amazing, great experience!

4-6-25: Ive always been a huge fan of the Fox Theater . When you walk up you see the flashing lights from the signs; the esthetic draws you in. Make sure to get your pictures in front of the signs and posters. The food is still very expensive but if u want popvorn you gotta buy it. Oh and they gave a new rule about your purse size. I went to the matinee show of parade and let me tell you it was moving. I really enjoyed act two the most. I was concerned because I didn't know how they were gonna make a musical out of the Leo Frank story of the murder at the pencil factory in Atlanta, but It was wonderful, and I highly recommend it. *The only thing that I hate the most is when it's intermission, and you have to use the bathroom and you're like a herd of cows going down the stairs, there's got to be another way for them to figure out how to filter people down to the restroom.

Google
I've been several times, and never had a bad experience. Although crowded, the staff is great at getting people where they need to go, and through concession and security lines quickly (and everyone I've interacted with has been friendly). There's not a bad seat, even as far away as we were for this show, I still felt like I could see everything! The venue itself is so beautiful and unique. I just love the Fox!

Google
I have seen many shows here over the last year, maybe 10 or so. There's a lways plenty of parking although not cheap! If you mind a short walk you can definitely find parking in the street for free. The venue itself is pretty nice, sometimes better than others but that may depend on the seats. Some shows are harder to hear but I've noticed in different locations I have a better experience. The balcony seems to be good every time. The seats aren't at any type onf incline so there's always someone's head in the way, again, unless you're in the balcony. Take it from me, it's a learning experience so trust me choose seats wisely. The popcorn is 6 and 8 bucks, a water is 5. Not too expensive but just make sure you get a fresh bucket of popcorn...you'll thank me. Enjoy your show!

My daughter and I attended the DWTS Live Tour last night at the Fox. It was our first experience there. What a fabulous place. We had an amazing time. Everything was very streamlined and organized. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the building itself is beautiful.

Google
Wow, what an experience! The venue is breathtaking and architecturally stunning! Just looking up at the ceiling was incredible! Very crowded but staff doing an excellent job directing people to their seats. I saw mamma Mia and let’s just say this millennial now has abba stuck in her head! The voice of Sophie’s mother…I got chills up and down my body. Fantastic show! Great mix of music, dancing, comedy and emotions. Should be appreciated by all!

Google
Absolute gem that takes you back to the nostalgic past of beautiful, ornate, classic theatres. If you're a fan of old architecture that's well preserved, don't miss the FOX

Yelp
The iconic Fox Theater Peachtree Blvd Atlanta, GA. Attending the historic Alvin Ailey dance theater. Food: To take advantage of the "free" you must purchase admission to the "Marquee Club" you'll receive an wristband and once in, you'll have your choice of multiple dishes from chicken, shrimp, stuffed truffle mushroom, meat and cheese boards also a full bar Service: I was pleasantly surprised that service, beginning from security outside to the box office attendant, ushers were so helpful and friendly. Ensure when you book your ticket that you request parking in the "blue lot" if this isn't available request parking in the "blue lot" the difference is a short walk to the theater from the blue lot. Ambiance: One of two most beautiful theaters I've attended the other was in Spain. The architecture and decor is awesome. I really appreciated the separate venue for Marquee Club attendees however food and wet bars were in every lobby. Heads up beer and liquor is very expensive.

Yelp
The Fox Theater is located at 660 Peachtree Street NE Atlanta, GA 30308. My Nephew and I attended the 2024 Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and the overall process was pretty eventful. I had problems getting my tickets to download to my phone and so did a lot of other people. We had to go to Will Call to have them printed and get back in line. The ambiance is crowded and noisy especially since the house was sold out. We didn't try any food or drinks so I can't speak on that. Nevertheless, I'll return for more events and I'll recommend this Venue to my family and friends. It was the experience for me.

Yelp
Attending the Trevor Noah show at this venue was an absolute delight - a great performance in a laid-back atmosphere with minimal hassle. Upon arrival, the venue greeted us with a unique hall featuring lined-up cars, possibly a promotional setup. The security check was swift, and after a quick ticket scan, we were inside. The venue offers both upstairs and downstairs bars, and here's a pro tip: head to the top bar for a more relaxed experience, avoiding unnecessary crowds. While the show itself was fantastic, the post-show bathroom lines were quite lengthy, especially upstairs. Planning for this congestion is advisable. It's worth noting that the venue, being a historical building, lacks cup holders on the seats, a minor inconvenience given the limited space between seats. The only hiccup in an otherwise stellar experience was the latecomers. Their arrival disrupted a whole row, necessitating a move to accommodate them. This slight disturbance was the only drawback to an otherwise flawless evening. As for post-show traffic, it's chaotic outside, so opting for Uber a block or two away is a wise choice to avoid the frenzy. In conclusion, the Trevor Noah show was a highlight, and the venue's easygoing vibe contributed to the overall enjoyment. With a bit of pre-planning for post-show activities, it's a five-star experience waiting to happen.

Yelp
I would definitely recommend this venue for concerts. I attended a concert here and it was great. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. Dim lighting and great architecture accents. It really feels like a nice theatre. The bathrooms are clean and plentiful. The parking was relatively uncomplicated for Atlanta. I just purchased a parking ticket for the event in advance and was able to park there right by the venue. The sound was great and view was good too. There were limited food and drink options, but that wasn't an issue for me. I think this is one of the coolest venues I've been to. Would return for a concert.

Yelp
Just saw Les Miserables here. Wonderful theater........wonderful experience. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
My husband and I are in Atlanta for the weekend and he got us tickets to the theater tour. Our guide, Alex, was kind and informative. He talked about the Shriners, who built the theater and how it opened just before the stock market crashed (how unfortunate). He took our group of 10 or so to multiple locations -- we got to walk on stage and backstage, take a manual elevator up to the balcony where we sat for a few minutes, and saw the upstairs rooms that are now event spaces. I was surprised to learn most of the furniture is original (from 1929!) and available to sit on. Definitely worth a trip - one of the most unique theaters I've been to with the night sky and twinkle lights that look like stars.

Liju L.

Yelp
Always love watching shows here. We always grab a drink at one of the bars next door. The theatre feels like it's just the right size. Not too big and not too small. We've attended a few shows over the years. I'd recommend sitting on the floor or the first balcony if possible. The last few rows at the very top can diminish the experience since the height from the stage is too much.

Yelp
Originally designed as the Yaarab Shrine Temple, a headquarters for the then 5,000-member Shriners organization, financial difficulties led to this auditorium ultimately opening as a lavish movie theater in the Fox Theaters chain in 1929. Today, The Fox is an Atlanta landmark and a popular venue for concerts, musicals, plays, and comedy as well as corporate and special events. With three levels of seating and a 4,665 seating capacity, this venue has clear sight lines and good views of the stage from most every seat in the house. Refreshments including a limited menu of snacks as well as water, soda, beer, wine, and liquor during most performances. The theater's Marquee Club is also available to patrons for an additional annual membership fee providing access to a private lounge offering a free buffet menu, cocktails for purchase, and access to a roof top terrace two hours before each performance and during intermission. As with similar venues of this era, washroom accommodations are limited and routinely overcrowded during large performances. As a season ticket holder here and several other theaters over the years, Atlanta's Fox isn't my favorite venue of its type in the U.S. I'm not a fan of its Moorish design though my main gripes have to do with frequent overcrowding during large productions and poor staffing during smaller shows. I'm also discouraged by the highly varied production quality from show to show. Still, this is a solid venue and frequent destination for New York productions during their pre-Broadway runs or for their first touring production. For those who don't attend shows here, it should be noted that the historic theater district that now surrounds the venue is also exceptionally overcrowded before and after performances and should be avoided during these times due to heavy traffic congestion.

Yelp
The Fabulous FOX! Very much reminds me of the Tampa Theatre! I don't know the FOX's history but I feel like they were built around the same time. They have a very similar look and feel inside and out. I think I must have been to the FOX 20 years or more ago when I lived there, but this time I was in town specifically to see Moulin Rouge and I have to say - I LOVED the show, the orchestra sounded amazing in that pit... I was able to get in and out of the bathroom twice without any wait...(you have to know to go to the additional stalls). I will say concessions, just like anywhere, is ridiculous. 2 wines/2 waters $35? Other than that - this place is great...make sure you take MARTA (cuz it's SMARTA) otherwise you have to deal with downtown/parking.

Yelp
I've been to the Fox for plays and for holiday parties. It's such a great and classic Atlanta venue! The staff is always amazing! If you're going for a show, give yourself enough time! They don't mess around with starting on time and they won't let you in until the first song is over. For intermission, if you have to go to the bathroom, hurry out because they don't play about starting the second act on time. For parking on show days, there will be lots of people holding signs for parking. Before you pay, make sure you can see the lot or ask them where the parking is. We paid for parking and then the guy told us we had to drive a little more ways away, which was frustrating because we later found a garage that was even closer to the Fox for cheaper. Highly recommend going to a show at the Fox! Give yourself enough time to get there and park!

Yelp
Seeing Theo Von for the first time was already exciting but seeing him in the fox theatre made it 100x better awesome place!

Yelp
Wonderful place to see great shows and experience great customer service from employees. Concession prices are pretty standard and reasonable. One tip, get into the women's bathroom line early before or right when intermission starts. Long wait if not!

Yelp
Now don't get me wrong, I love The Fox. I've been many times and have had a wonderful time. But for one of the most expensive tickets in Atlanta last weekend was horrendous. Our best friends, Hubby and I went to see Hamilton on a Saturday matinee. I can honestly say, thank goodness I knew what was happening. The sound was awful. There were people around us that kept looking at each other and looking bewildered. It never got better, even after intermission. I tried contacting the Fox but did not see a customer service number other than the box office. I hope this is not an ongoing problem. Like I said, I love the Fox.

Matthew S.

Yelp
We had a great day, and a great time watching the Wild Kratts Live at the Fox Theatre. The theatre is beautiful, courteous and (mostly) efficient staff and ticketing. Snacks were a bit pricey, but hey, it is a theatre. The only downside to our entire visit was the Red Parking Lot. The garage keeps the elevator lobby locked down and you have to use a doorbell intercom if you're a wheelchair user. The problem comes when nobody answers said bell for 20 minutes and the lot staff are unhelpful and rude. Highly recommend the Theatre, do not recommend the Red Lot or trying to deal with Lanier Parking's Staff or Allied Security...

Yelp
Was there for Trevor Noah show!!! Wohooo it was a great show the venue was really easy going not too much crazy walking on our end. When you walk in to the venue, we came to a hall with like cars line up( think it was like a promotional thing ) and security check. Security check was really quick and they scan your ticket after and you are in. There is an upstairs and downstairs bar selling drinks Pro tip : Not sure why everyone was crowding at the bottom one but the top one was pretty chill so get it from the top one it's just one flight of stairs nothing crazy . Bathrooms are upstairs crazy lines after the show so I would say plan for it It is a historical building so the seats does not come with cup holders. Wish they did because it's small space between the front seat and you and no place to place a drink even just for a second Would be five star but the people coming in late . We had to move like a whole seated row of people because the late come sits in the middle and they can't go in without us coming out. Post show traffic outside is crazy so I do recommend Ubering a block or two a way

Yelp
Had a fabulous time on Saturday we went to see the one and only Alvin Ailey performance I missed them last year and promised myself there would not be a repeat this year. The decor was stunning, the theater was clean and the staff were very professional. The concession stand had limited options but good and affordable nonetheless. The ladies room was clean and though the line was a bit intimidating we were in and out in time to catch the next half of the performance. I do wish the audience would respect the policy and NOT USE THEIR PHONES. It is not only distracting to the performers it's also distracting to the other audience members. Would definitely recommend though I need to purchase the marquee pass oh and $60 dollars for parking was a bit much but since we went to the 7:30pm show it was worth it.

Yelp
I've visited The Fox Theatre for a few occasions -- I went once on a 3rd grade field trip for the tour about 15 years ago. The second time was to watch Charlie and The Chocolate Factory the musical, and the third time was for a K-POP concert (ITZY). This theatre has a lot of history, culture and tradition and it's truly a beautiful theatre. Great for musicals and plays and it's been with us for quite a while -- you can definitely notice the aging in the theatre. I will say -- I worked the ITZY concert and it's not really the best for concerts, unless it's like an instrument concert. The sound is not good for pop concerts because there's a balcony and because it's an old theater -- adjusting the sound may be difficult. The Fox is promarily the place where they do musicals -- you can think of it as the Mini Broadway of Atlanta. It's a great place and it's also a landmark so it's definitely worth checking out. They also have daytime tours if you just want to see how the theatre is so it's a great historic tourist attraction as well!

Yelp
I finally came to the Fox for the first time this past winter to see Anastasia and it's so magical! You walk in and feel like you're in a different world, totally different from the reality of Midtown Atlanta just outside the doors. I love the faux sky with stars on the upper ceiling and all of the older architecture and styling. We sat in the balcony for Anastasia and in the orchestra for Riverdance and both spots offered a great view. Lighting and sound are awesome in both spots so especially for musicals you can't go wrong with picking seats. All of the employees are so nice and deal well with the amount of visitors that the Fox gets, because it gets BUSY. There's lots of great places to eat around that area so I recommend making a night out of it and doing dinner and a show! The prices for the food and drink available at concessions are pretty standard for theatre/event venues so as long as you expect to spend more than you normally would for popcorn/candy/soda/etc then you won't be surprised! I can't wait to see more shows in the coming months!!

Yelp
I've lived here for years and I've been to the Fox many times. We were there today for a performance of Hadestown, which is now one of my all-time favorite plays. It was incredible . . . From the staging and choreography to the beautiful music and talented performers, it was one to be remembered. No wonder it won a Tony for best musical. The Fox itself never disappoints. I love to sit in the balcony where you can see the gorgeous faux sky and twinkling stars, and the view is spectacular from above. Get there early to hear "The Mighty Mo" organ and be sure to check out the restrooms on the Egyptian Ballroom level. It is always a magical experience, even if you only go for one of the summer movie performances, and be sure to read the history of the Fox and our very own "Phantom."

Yelp
We went to see the musical Hairspray at the Fox on Wednesday May31st. The performance was good with the exception of the father who gave an almost high school quality performance. The real villain was the sound engineer who must have gotten his credentials from a CrackerJack box. All the bass and Tenor singers were properly amplified, however anyone above a Tenor was severely clipped to the point that words were being lost. All in all I give the performance a C- with the leads a solid B. Also, when did screaming by the audience become a thing?
google avatar

Yelp
Saw the Hip Hop Nutcracker last night at the Fox. So fun! This is a very beautiful theater with ornate ceilings and even bathrooms that are quite classy. Will definitely be back for more shows because it was very smooth to get inside with the help of the ushers at the doors and on the aisles. Tip: I used ParkWhiz to find a parking lot near the theater before hand. It was so nice to know where to park and not stress it before the show. I parked in a lot 3 blocks away and paid $10. Otherwise you could be paying $40+ for nearby parking.

Yelp
Never have I ever left The Fox Theatre not beaming with joy. Tonight pre game happened at the Marquee Club, which is a private dining area for season ticket holders and guest who purchase access accompanied with a show ticket. There are 3 levels, once inside. Main floor contains food action stations, an hors d'oeurvres table, restrooms and bar. 2nd floor offers a dessert station, coffee/ tea station and bar. Third floor gives rooftop access and anothe bar! Treat your self to this! The staff is always friendly and helpful, The environment is always clean ( even the restrooms are spotless)! Can't wait to visit again

Yelp
A marvelous venue to catch a production at! This theater is what the word theater was intended for! A decadent structure with an opulent beauty that wows you from the second your eyes lay sight on the wonderful architecture. I can't say enough about the look of this structure.. inside and out! Our family caught a showing of Blue Man group here. What complete fun for my kids and all of us. It was a good show and we all had a great time. However we were all astounded at the theater. Great seats everywhere. Lots of options for drinks and food. The bathrooms were like something out of the 50s. Huge sitting area out side of restroom and then like something out of a movie inside. The whole theater was like it was taken out of another time and dropped here. A time of pure elegance. I can't wait to see a broadway production here! I truly wonderful location. One that I hope to frequent often!

Yelp
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL VENUE!!! I've been here a couple times for stand up comedy shows and oh my god it's such a fantastic experience. The staff are always super prompt and handle large crowds so well. The FAMOUS fox sign outside is so worth the hype and amazing to get a picture with. It's such an electrifying experience before and after shows because everyone is watching the sign and trying to take pictures as it lights up. The lights definitely make you feel so excited and I LOOOVE the sign for this reason. From when you step in you're transported to this middle eastern old theatre. Even the bathrooms are SO well decorated. The walk to our seats was so long because I kept admiring the decor. I think any musical or play would be so fun here because there are many tiny stages near the stage and lots of trap door looking things. I've never eaten any of the food here but like all venues the food is on the more expensive side.

Yelp
The Fox Theater always provides excellent top tier entertainment for us locals and everyone in between! This time, I saw Stephanie Mills and Patti La Belle and it was a great show. The musicians were amazing and the artists were PERFECTION. At age 65, Stephanie Mills sounds just as she did when I was a child listening on the radio. And at age 78, Miss Patti still has great energy and sounds just like her albums. She even still does costume changes. I enjoyed myself immensely, however my only complaint is the HIGH HIGH priced snacks offered at concessions. I paid $19 for a mini bottle of wine and a small regular bag of Dorito chips. Still mad about that lol.

Yelp
So I took my daughter to her first concert but our seats was right behind the projector And we could not see I asked if anything could be done and they moved me So I was happy about that we ended up having a great time and beautiful theater

Yelp
I've been to the Fox Theater a few times throughout the years for various events (concerts, plays and movie premiers). The Fox is always a good time and theres no bad seat in the house. I love the ambiance and how walkable the location is to other restaurants.

Yelp
Ok, so this is one of the most beautiful theaters in the world, and I love the experience of sitting amongst so many people enjoying a show. I recently went to see Ailey Dance Theatre. The low rating is because of the ushers, who decided to sit late strivers two minutes before the piece was over, resulting in me missing the last moments of a piece I was very much enjoying. I was also never given a playbill. In general, there needs to be more Theatre etiquette education because between people using their phones during the show and the late comers, it wasn't as enjoyable of an experience as it should have been.
google avatar

Mina O.

Yelp
Hands down a great place to watch an exceptional show. The snacks are inexpensive and the ushers are extremely friendly and helpful when locating your seat. Take a date, take yourself or take a group, never disappointed.
google avatar

Haley T.

Yelp
Absolutely stunning theater. The staff at the merchandise booths and the bar were kind and very speedy. I didn't try any food, but the other concert goers seemed to enjoy the typical bar fare that was offered. I bought my ticket last minute, and was pleasantly surprised by the "obstructed view" seat. It was essentially front row, so I got a great view of the concert and the performers (ITZY)!!! I will most certainly return for a concert or a play in the future.

Yelp
Definitely the nicest theater I've been in. It was breathtaking inside. From the photos, I actually thought the theater had a section that was outdoors but that was an illusion! The whole place is gorgeous and reminded me of Arabian Nights. The Ladies Lounge - holy cow, it's huge and you can host a party in there. The bathroom itself was not that big but the lounge before it was quite comfortable and fancy. Seats were comfortable and good leg room which is rare. Good view all around even at the top. Such a magnificent theater!

Yelp
Amazing staff! Quick and efficient processes! The line NEVERRRRR stopped moving and it was so long (wrapped around the block) but it went by so quick.

Yelp
We were here in November '22 originally to see The B-52's, but they rescheduled, so instead we took the Architecture and History tour. Our hotel was right across the street, so it was nice to still enjoy the Fox Theatre during that time. We did come back for The B-52's rescheduled show in January '23 and we had a blast from our front row orchestra seats. With that said, I highly recommend taking any of the theatre's tours if you appreciate local history and architecture (we learned so much, and the decor and fixtures are gorgeous). Great venue for seeing a show, especially knowing how special this theatre is. Wonderful acoustics and ambience! Also, look for the tiny door somewhere along the entrance. Cute.

Yelp
Food poor, drinks worse than poor, way overpriced. Service once you got to the counter and they gave you a list of things that wasn't available or wasn't working. Service was OK ambiance second to none. Went to see little big town, what a joke, drums and bass were so loud they Drowned it out everything else

John H.

Yelp
The staff was amazing and very helpful. The food was pretty good. I could've been a little better. The whole atmosphere, and the staff were wonderful. I would recommend this place for a special event.

Yelp
What a wonderful evening at the Fox Theatre! My friend and I went to see WICKED and it was an amazing show. The ushers were friendly and very helpful. I enjoy the Fox so much, it is such a beautiful venue. If you are looking for a wonderful evening in Atlanta, You must visit the Fox Theatre.

Yelp
Beautiful venue with that old school glam feel that makes you feel luxurious and red carpet ready! Security and staff were all extremely friendly and the crowd was neither pushy nor rude (or overly drunk). Giant bar in the front with popcorn and other snacks. Stage lighting is nice and seats are spacious enough. The ceilings are SO beautiful! Restrooms are also nice and spacious. I had a wonderful time here. Only thing to note is that you'll be paying $20 or more for parking, but that's pretty normal for areas like these. A bonus is that there are a lot of walkable restaurants and bars around for an after-event get together!

Yelp
This place is beyond fabulous! The interior is representative a fine quality theater of yester year. One can tell that they work hard to maintain a level of elegance. From the types of shows, the staff, even the concessions are all apart of the Fox Theater charm. Every time I attend a performance there I am in awe when I walk into the lobby, then again in awe when I walk into the theater.

Yelp
I have been to the Fox Theatre several years ago to see a couple of musicals and I remember walking in for the first time and being in awe of how beautiful it is. I got the same feeling on my most recent visit to the Fox, which was to see Hamilton! A friend and I went to see it and our seats were in the balcony. I'm amazed at how large this theater is (over 4000 seats), yet how it feels like every seat has a relatively good view. The only issue that I had with our seat was that I couldn't see over the head of the person sitting in front of me, so I had to lean over to my friend the entire time. The Egyptian style and decoration of the Fox are very ornate and grand. There is a even a painted sky across the ceiling. You step inside and feel transported to another time and place. Our experience with every staff member we encountered was pleasant. Given we were with 4000 other people, I was surprised that we rarely had a wait for a bathroom or concession. It's just well organized. I can't wait to attend another event at the Fox!

Yelp
The Fox Theater was a beautiful venue and the seats I got gave the best view of the stage in the whole theater! This musical was very entertaining! As someone who had never seen the original movie Beetlejuice but lucked into free tickets courtesy of Most Valuable Kids of Greater Atlanta and Vanguard Leadership Academy. This musical was extremely audience dependent and interactive, as the actors constantly used audience members for reference and jokes, which only added to the fun.

Yelp
The Fox Theatre is an Atlanta staple. It features an Arabian nights inspired decor and architecture and beautiful ambiance. I have been to the Fox a countless amount of times to see my favorite show around Christmas: The Nutcracker. Beautiful. Entertaining. An absolute delight. The theatre is decorated so nicely for Christmas. I have also seen many other shows here over the years including: Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Kylie Minogue concert (best concert ever), etc. They have a concession stand offering popcorn and snacks. I wish they would bring back the glazed and roasted pralines, pecans, walnuts because those were heavenly and that aroma reminds me of the Fox from earlier years.

Yelp
I LOVE visiting the Fox! I'm very into theatre so it's always amazing to see Broadway national tours at the Fox. I've seen numerous productions here, and sat in many different sections. My favorite sections to sit in are "DRA" on the balcony, or Orchestra Left, Right, or Center but towards the front. You pretty much have a fine view anywhere! The restroom situation here is kind of a mess, being that there are only 2, but this is really the case with most theaters. Plan to go before the show because the intermission lines could cause you to miss some of Act 2!

Yelp
Went to go see pretty woman and had a great time. Theatre was nice clean, food was overpriced. The staff was great and super friendly.

Yelp
I love the Fox, it's such a nice layout for musical plays and Broadway shows. I love taking my daughter here. We always grab dinner before the show. Tickets are priced fairly but you want to get them early especially the well known shows because all the better seating sell quickly.

Yelp
Always a pleasant experience at Fox Theatre. Came to see Moulin Rouge and loved it. The majority of the staff was very helpful. Ordered popcorn and some drinks and the concession attendants were so pleasant. The only reason for the 4 star is when we got to the level where our seats were, there seemed to be some confusion with the ushers. The usher at the top of the stairs, pointed us in the direction of our seats and advised that an usher who was standing half way up a set of steps would come down to assist us. We walked to the bottom of the steps and she never came down, so we walked up to her which was half way up the section, only for her to point us down to the first row of the section, so we had to walk back down the stairs. Again, great show and majority of great experience, with just a minor point of confusion. Super easy to get out at the end of the show and make our way back to the parking garage. Coming back in July for Wicked!

Yelp
I think Fox Theatre Atlanta is simply amazing and breathtaking! This is my first review of Fox even though I've been coming here since the first week that I moved to Atlanta in 2015. We came here to see Fiddler On The Roof in mid-November. I've parked one of the parking lots only once, and it sure wasn't fun trying to leave the parking lot and the area because everyone else is trying to leave at the same time after a performance at Fox Theatre. Since then, we've only taken MARTA trains, and North Station is so located so close to the theater. We got to Fox Theatre Atlanta early, and were able to walk around without a lot of people also walking around. The outside/entrance of the theater, inspired by Islamic architecture, provides just a hint of what is inside the venue, of which sections were inspired by Egyptian architecture. The marquee lights up, providing a preview of upcoming events. A box office right under the marquee is no longer used, but there are other windows that have been used for almost 100 years. Entrances are staffed by security employees, and everyone entering must pass through metal detectors, then present their ticket. Just about everything in the building is either original or restored to look like it did when the theater was built. The carpeting is deep red with gold, and very detailed patterns, throughout much of the theater. Although most theater goers use the stairs, an old working elevator, complete with an elevator attendant who actually operates the elevator, is available. We took the elevator upstairs, and were able to enjoy the views of the theater from the upper level of the main hall. The stage looked small from up there, and the keyboardist was playing songs on the huge "Mighty Mo" pipe organ. The entire areas from the stage and upward, including the ceiling, were renovated to look like everything was outside in the open air, with blue lighting and projected moving white clouds on the ceiling, and the front face of the stage looking like it was part of the outside of a building, and this look carried throughout the other upper sides of the auditorium. Fox Theatre Atlanta has almost 5,000 seats, and just about all of the seats have a great view. The seats are comfortable. The only things that I could complain about are that the aisles are a little cramped, making it a tight squeeze when someone needs to get past your seat, and the theater's process of attempting to route everyone trying to get to the lowest level restrooms during intermission is a big fail. During this visit, R and I found a long wall, that was just about full of pictures of and signed by celebrities who have performed at Fox Theatre throughout the years, near the upper level restrooms. Oh, and everything at the concessions stands are expensive, so just be prepared to pay high prices. I loved coming here in mid-November 2021. This is a great venue, and Fiddler On The Roof was a great musical.

Yelp
Fox Theater, one of the best venues is Georgia for the arts. We came tonight for Alvin Ailey American Dance show..Parking was a bit of a challenge but manageable. My advise would he to purchase your parking in advance along with your ticket. Covid protocols are strictly enforced. You must also show proof of vaccination before you enter the venue. The Fox is timeless. Productions and concerts are enhanced by the ambiance..
