Great atmosphere with Sunday afternoon acoustic music trio. Seating inside or outside is comfortable. Mimosas and bloody Mary $5. The steak salad is good but very heavy on the horse radish. It overpowers the salad. So if not a big fan of the horse radish, take it off. The southwest salmon salad was great... If you try the side Brussels Sprouts, they have hints of pecans and slices of beats that are all slightly fried. This place is worth a try. You will pay $80 for lunch with tip for two people.

Went for mothers day and it was awesome. Our server was Ashley, she was awesome. Attentive, good customer service. Food was good, ambience is nice and just a good place to eat. We will definitely come back. Give Ashley a raise!!!

Came for a quick dinner stop while on a 36 hour visit in town. Krista D. was our server and did an awesome job taking care of us on the patio. We enjoyed the Texas Trio, Cajun crawfish Mac and cheese, Southwestern Cobb Salad, and a frozen lemonade cocktail.

The food is actually pretty good here. Service was amazing, and the atmosphere was pretty cool. You should probably be aware that they’re only serving brunch and breakfast type items until 3 PM. As long as you’re cool with that, then you’ll really enjoy it. If you want more dinner type items, come after 3 PM. The restaurant area is a little dark, there is also another outdoor-ish area that’s a little better lit.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! I've been twice, and both times were consistently great in the points above. My favorite was the pretzel bites & cheese. Steak is a little pricey, but very good for the price. The cheese gnocchi that accompanied the steak was fantastic, too!

Came in for brunch, and so happy we did. Atmosphere and ambiance was incredible. Cello and keyboard players were amazing. Have to try the biscuits and gravy! I had the BLET and husband had the steak and eggs. All was delicious and had so much flavor. Our waitress, Isabela was ON IT! Will definitely return again!

The first time we ever came here we loved it! Couldn’t wait to come back and try the different specials they have to offer. This time we were so disappointed at our bar service! We got served half full cocktails that mind you- cost $14 a piece! I did mention it to the bartender at the time that I was unsatisfied with the pour amount considering Not only the price, but I am an avid martini drinker- and I have NEVER had my glass this empty. He responded that it was the correct pour and if I wanted to be satisfied I would need to buy another martini to make up for the other half of space in my glass…. Wow! If this is the correct “pour” for $13- count me out! Will not be bank unfortunately. Prices in this economy are through the roof, but I am not opposed to spending good money on a GOOD cocktail- however his reaction was very passive aggressive and if this is how the restaurant wants him to serve and service their drinks- I will happily take my money elsewhere. I had been wanting to try Foxhole for years and finally did and was blown away by my experience. Everything was fantastic!! I got an El Camino drink, tuna and steak tartare, and the lamb and meatloaf. I will absolutely be back.

My wife and I came here once before, right after it opened. We just sat at the bar to check it out and had a few drinks as it was new. Her drink turned out to be too spicy for her, not their fault but on top of everything else it soured us. At the time the vibe was different, the bartender we had then was stand offish and we got the feel we were not the clientele they were looking for or wanted so we never came back. The drinks for the price at the time were also nothing special. I say this to preface that my first return since that time went leagues better. Shana came back once before with a friend. She picked this place on a whim to eat before a comedy show we were seeing later, and I admit on a return visit YEARS later the whole thing went much better. We were seated quickly, the server was friendly and checked in regularly without being overbearing. The choosing each others drinks thing we do seem to amuse her. SHANA SAYS: Foxhole Tavern was a 5 star experience. All around. The ambiance there is always great. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, genuinely delighted in our choices, and just warm and fun. My dish (tomato wild flatbread) was absolutely top notch and a lot of food for the price! Both my cocktails were attractive and delicious. The banana foster cold brewtini could honestly be a dessert The Texas Trio takes a common appetizer: (chips and a variety of dips) and elevates it with top-tier made-in-house quality I had the burger with fries, I get a basic Cheeseburger with bacon. The bacon was a large helping and very good. The burger was on the high end. Not Soul burger level but close. The fries were hot and good, I was much more impressed on this visit then the previous one. Also the price for the food and how good it was was lower then I was expecting. It is on the high end but not as bad I was thinking it was going to. We can recommend this place and will be back.

These guys can make a burger and fries! Interesting menu but I was really hungry. Cool dark classic tavern with a great bar full of happy people. I ordered the house burger and subbed fries for the kettle chips. The house burger features ground beef AND chopped up brisket. Cooked to a perfect medium rare. Juicy as h***. Crunchy onions and pickles are a perfect compliment. And yes. Pay extra for the fries. Thick, crispy and perfectly seasoned. Not a budget item for a family of 4 but definitely worth the price.

The atmosphere of this location is try nice, deemed lights, soft music playing and just very laid back and relax. What we ordered: Bearcat drink - my mom and i really liked this drink however it was heavy on ice. Texas trio - this is a good appetizer for the table. The guac is good & flavorful, the jalapeño popper is alright & salsa is more homemade style than chunky. Seared ahi tuna - i have been to foxhole few times and this seared ahi tuna salad is always spot on. Just the right amount of dressing and great combination of vegetables & greens. Kobe burger - the Kobe burger is flavorful however the caramelized onion is more on the sweeter side- 7/10 Wood fired airline chicken - The sofrito rice is very flavorful and has aromatic, the airline chicken was very juicy and well done. Service was great however our out of town guests chicken did arrive way later than the salad and burger.

The food was creative and delicious. Great drinks too. The bartender gave us great service

Hostess was very welcoming and quick to seat us. The foxhole frose and tuna tartar are out of this world!! My husband got the burger and enjoyed it as well. Our server was very attentive despite being busy and very kind with our kids. The restaurant is cool with a nice patio, I love the wood accents. Would absolutely recommend.

Come here for brunch often and everything is always good from service to food. I love that they have several different Bloody Mary options too!

This place is a regular for us. The menu is small and the food is good. The service is always good. The drinks are nice and well mixed. The deviled eggs are amazing like their bloody Mary's

Came here for dinner with my grandparents and we had a great time! The service here was great and the interior of the restaurant was very beautiful and well decorated. I liked how the place was dimly lit and the outside patio also looked lovely. I got the jumbo bacon wrapped shrimp on a bed of cheesy grits. It was really great! My one critique is that I wish this place had a larger menu. I had a really difficult time deciding what I wanted to order because of the smaller menu size. This restaurant is on the slightly more expensive side just fyi but it's a great local spot in the lakeline are!

I would have not found this place if I wasn't shopping at the Sam's club and was hungry and it was nice to discover the it. Ambience wise, this place is past its prime for 10 years or so but that has never stopped me from appreciate good food and drinks. I got a rum based cocktail and Kung-pao Shrimp and both were nice. The kung pao was spicy and I asked for some rice on the side which went really well with the dish. I might go back if I am in the area

I am in Austin for a long weekend. My son's friends suggested we go here. What amazing and creative dishes. I had the steak salad which doesn't sound original but the horseradish mustard vinaigrette combined with wood fired steak really had amazing flavors. My son had the lamb which was falling off the bone and had an amazing flavor. In addition the craft cocktails were well done. Service was outstanding. Ambience was on point with nice bluesy music playing at right volume where we could still easily talk. Highly recommend!

Came here for Valentine's Day food and had such a great time! The food and drinks were amazing, although I'd skip the dessert next time as the cake seemed a bit dry for me. Great place to unwind with a drink, catch up with friends or watch the game at the bar. Can't wait to try their brunch. Kelly our server was awesome! Highly recommend the shrimp fra diavolo. It was on their special menu, but it needs to make it to their regular menu. So good! Looking forward to coming back.

Reserved a table for an anniversary dinner, and was thorouggly disappointed with the table they placed as at in the middle of the floor- was very loud and despite filling out the "special requests" section, there was no flower for my lady. THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC and it was all reasonably priced, and we were ready to come back next tuesday for more of the Pork Belly Tacos. Unfortunately, upon review of the check, our server had not discounted a single item. The special was supposed to take a dollar off of four or five diffrent things we got, but instead the server charged full price, and was left a mediocre tip as a result. Food was great, service was ehh, we'll probably still be back but not for anything special.

Stopped in here for quick bite before shopping on Sunday. Pleasantly surprised with small band playing great live music in the corner. Food was great and environment was upbeat. A bit louder than your typical lunch after church but we enjoyed it and will definitely visit again. We had breakfast skillet, appetizer trio and Brussels sprouts. All were tasty!

Terrible. Glass of wine was short poured. I ordered a burger medium rare and the bartender said "I'm sorry did you say rare or medium rare?" I reiterated medium rare but the burger came back rare. I had to send it back. Servie staff is friendly but they total mess things up.

On a date night, we found this tavern using the YELP app! So, glad we stumbled upon it! We had a slight wait as it was Friday evening; if you can, call ahead. They have a happy hour until 630, but we didn't make it in time for that. The waiter we had made delicious recommendations that we were so glad we listened to him. I was torn between the bacon-wrapped shrimp and grits and the venison meatloaf. So happy I went with the shrimp and grits! These are not your mealy gritty grits; they were smooth and flavorful! The shrimp were large, and the bacon was not soggy at all. My husband got the salmon and angel hair pasta; im, not a salmon fan, but the pasta was flawlessly cooked! He says he would get the grits next time. For dessert, we got the upside-down pineapple cake with a side of ice cream. The cake was a little overcooked, but that didn't stop me from not wanting to share it. Overall, the experience was on point, and we will be back; I'll get the meatloaf next time. This is a scratch kitchen, so if you don't like a particular ingredient, they can take it out for you. And they have what looks like a great bar selection.

Brunch breakfast skillet is amazing. But we bought our kids some sliders. They brought them to our table in moldy bread. All the little sandwiches were in molded bread. They apologized and gave us a free slice of cake. This was a year ago. I tried to let it go but apparently I am still peeved about this moment in time.

This place has the most amazing Brussel sprouts ever. Each season, they change it out on the menu. Sometimes, I just come here for the brussels sprouts. But the rest of their entrées are good as well. It helps if you make a reservation.

Only the service was lacking. 15 minute wait after seating before getting a water. But their chili was great and the ahi tuna was top notch. Cocktails were tasty. Prices totally Reasonable. Would definitely go back or recommend.

We stopped in for takeout and waited at the bar. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Very friendly staff, prompt service, and the food was really lovely. This is the second time Devin has steered us to the best drinks! I highly recommend the Gin Ruby. Extremely well balanced!

We had an an incredible meal. We hadn't been back in a while as the menu was stale. We sat and Chris our server ( ask for him) laid out the changes to the menu and made great suggestions. We tried the kung pao shrimp and lobster tots. Over the top, bursting with flavor. Great additions to the menu. He suggested the mashed sweet potatoes with our steak. Loved it. I can't say enough about Chris. He is a an attentive server who got to know us and listened intently to us. Ambiance is always perfect there. Go check out the new menu.

The food here is great, but unfortunately the service is horrible. The past two times I've gone I sat there with my wife with no recognition from any one, no water, nothing for a VERY long time. It's too bad because I love their venison meatloaf, but I have no intentions of returning. The first might be able to be chalked up to a bad night. The second suggests to me the bad service is a feature and not a bug.

What a great place to head to after setting the shopping credit card on fire, y'all! Or anytime at all, really! The vibe here is so delicious! Cool music, gorg ambience, and killer lighting! Very stylish! We really and truly love it here! The wine by the glass list is impressive (I went with the Caymus Conundrum. Highly recommended!), and the hubby dug the draught beer selection! He grabbed a Pearl Snap! As for the food, we started with the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and they were top notch! So interesting and unique! The little cast iron skillet is full of yummy goodies! Definitely not what you'd expect! Get them! You're welcome! LOL! After that, we went with the burgers! I got the House with steak-cut fries, and hubby got the Kobe with parm fries! Both were absolutely sensational burgers. Insanely delish! Full stop and end of story. We fought over the last of my steak fries, though. That good! Choose those! By the way, our server, Mario, was a fabulously cool cat! All in all, Foxhole is a destination worth repeating again and again and AHHHGAIN! They TOTALLY rocked it!

While the restaurant in general is a solid 4 stars, the Happy Hour is easily 5 stars. Lots of good options, good food, at a great place. The One Night in Jaurez flatbread is really good - the steak on it was exceptionally tender, and really well seasoned, and the flatbread was nicely crispy. Personally I prefer the Chauvanist Pig flatbread, which I have gotten in the past, but Jaurez did not disappoint. The gumbo (not on the happy hour menu) was really good, it had a lot of good flavor to it, but was a little too hot for my taste. My husband was not too impressed with his wedge salad, way too much core and really bland tomato. But in the past we've tried several different tacos, which have all been excellent and are only $5/each for Happy Hour. The atmosphere is great - a great looking bar, fun decor, a large communal table if you have a big group, lots of TVs if there is a game you want to watch. Yet even though it has a great buzz, it is not too loud to hear your companions across the table from you. Also plenty of parking, which is always a plus.

I really enjoyed this place. We've driven by thousands of times, and finally made it in. The appetizers were on point. The quail was beyond delicious. The pork belly crostini was also amazing. There's a third I think I'm forgetting. My entree was the bacon wrapped shrimp, atop a bed of bomb ass grits. Fluffy, delicious, corn flavor coming through, just delicious. It was cold inside, so after we ate we got frozen lemonades out on the patio, and it was delightful. Finally, our server, Mario was attentive, knowledgeable,and just cool, and having a positive interaction like that makes an experience better. We'll certainly be back.

I absolutely love brunch here. They generally play live music on Sundays so the atmosphere is great. High quality food. The eggs Benedict is incredible. I would like to see more appetizer options bc they are limited and I don't particularly care for the options, but other than that this place incredible.

Great selection of tasty food at a good price point. We went for brunch and ordered the breakfast burrito and the venison Benedict off the brunch menu and the house made burger from the normal menu. All items were delicious and pretty generous in portion size. The chocolate Godiva cake was rich and decadent.

I used to come here multiple times a week when I bartended for Trulucks. Loved the place. Kelly the bartender is awesome and I met and became friends with so many awesome people. This recent visit was awful. Ordered 6 oysters for my appetizer, a wedge salad and a crab cake. It all came at the same time. She just piled the APPs and the entrees all over the table. My daughter ordered chx strips and FF with ranch. She brought a tiny little cup of ranch, when it was gone, we asked for more and she said "that ranch that you just saw me give that other table, that was the last of the ranch. Does she want ketchup or something?" Meanwhile, the ketchup she initially brought out is still sitting full on the table. Our drinks stayed empty until we asked her for a refill and all the empty plates were just left at the table the entire time. I will also mention, this server, and her name is myranda (I only know because of the check) acted as though we were putting a damper on her Saturday night. I won't be back. Sad but this experience was awful. Update- I had decided to give this place another try because my daughter loves there ranch here. Came on a Sunday and got the same terrible server from the previous review. We should have left, but we didn't. Big mistake. Ordered 6 oysters- 3 gulf, 3 malpeque. One of the gulf was visibly bad. And smelled awful. All three of the malpeque were chopped to pieces by the shucker. She said she would bring me another gulf to replace the bad one. Didn't bring it until after entrees were brought out and then charged me for it , as well as the bad one on the check. The drink I ordered sat on the bar so long it was watered down and pretty gross. I could go on, but I won't. I won't be back. Terrible service and sub-par food- zero kitchen standards

First time eating and having a cocktail at this establishment. I got an old fashioned with Bullett Rye. I'm very picky about my drinks and asked about different whiskeys and pricing. The bartender wasn't really that friendly and maybe he was having an off night. He seemed slightly agitated I was asking so many questions. For first impressions, I wasn't impressed. On the positive side they had a good selection of whiskeys: Blanton's, Four Roses, Knob Creek, Woodford Reserve, etceven Rip Van Winkle!

Brunch is always on point , but I really love the live music on Sundays. My kids think it's so cool and want to get up and dance. Not many places in north Austin that have live music dining experiences on Sunday . Besides the music though this place has come a long way since they opened . I very much enjoy the food and they have a nice beer / mixed drink selection . The staff is pleasant and the the vibe is upscale relaxed. For breakfast I'd say FoxHole has some of the best waffles I've ever had they are crisp light and airy .I'd also say the chicken fried steak is a great go too dish off the brunch menu . As for appetizers I'd recommend the stuffed qual if your adventurous or my second favorite the Texas Trio but both are great for any occasion where sharing is important . These are great to pair with some on tap beers or my favorite mixed drink a Frozen lemonade! For Happy hour with some friends they have some delicious flatbreads and tacos that's they don't usually have on the menu . For dinner my favorite dish is definitely the Berkshire Pork Chop with asian pear succo-hash ,sweet potato shoestring ,hatch green chile-molasses gastrique , or equally as delicious the Bacon-Wrapped Jumbo Shrimp served on top of three pepper colby jack grits ,scallions ,charred corn, pickled red jalapeños ,crispy okra and crawfish blackened butter cream ! Yeah they are as good as they sound so hurry up and get you some ... FoxHole Culinary Tavern is a gem and like I said has come a long way since they opened . It's a Sunday hotspot but also great for girls nite hanging with the boys or just taking your significant other on a nite out for good food and drinks .

Came here for Brunch on a Saturday morning and overall it was a solid meal. The bagels and lox deviled eggs are a must-get if you're a deviled egg fiend like myself. I got the venison birria Benedict and it was original, and tasty. Would order again! Service was attentive but not annoying. My 3 year old loved their flatbread pizza too. It was a bit pricey without cocktails, I believe about $90 with tip in a party of 2.5.

The drinks are craft. I never had a meal but vibes are great . Would recommend to anyone looking for something low key

Service was okay. I was expecting more from this place. Food also okay. Not over the top as I had hope. I heard good things about this place. I'm. Not impressed. Our table was dirty when we sat. And the host saw the floor and didn't care and sat us anyways.

Came in for brunch with friends and was greeted not so kindly by the hotesses. We had to wait like 10 mins but everything was alieviated by our awsome waiter who was very kind and dilligent with our orders. Our foods and the mimosa was excellent. I would reccommend.

Nice surprise near our hood. I had no idea what this was. So glad I found out at brunch w/ friends. It's a great scratch kitchen, awesome menu, fantastic drinks. I can't wait to go back for dinner.

We had some time after dropping off our kid to his class, so stopped by FCT on weekdays and it was HH, we sat outside, it's covered, and there's big fans, so it was pleasant, our server, forgot his name was friendly and helpful, husband wasn't hungry so just ordered beer, I ordered flatbread and frozen boozy lemonade, loved flatbread, flavors were very well balanced, and I really liked the combination of flavors, definitely try it, lemonade was good too, have to try there brunch!!

Great environment. Staff very friendly. Margarita and sangria delicious. Tomato flatbread is really good. Steak flatbread, be careful with the creamy jalapeño, if you are sensitive to spicy, put on the side. Burger very good the whole combination, meat came at the right temperature. Pretzel dip, is ok. Meatballs was good. Chowder was very good. Salad was good.

Thought we would give Foxhole another try since it's been months since we've last visited. Well seems like they are still short staffed. Sunday evening, restaurant half empty. 30-40 minute wait. Only option bar seating which was full. Hostess didn't give a care just relaying wait time. Doubt we will be back.

A friend and I decided to splurge on ourselves after a long, eventful week and we are so glad we chose Foxhole Culinary Tavern! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, soft music was playing as we talked about our week and had a couple of drinks to unwind and relax. Thank you, Isabell, for your suggestions. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our server Chris, everything he recommended was fantastic. We had a white wine with bacon wrapped shrimp and the grits were perfect in it! We also had the birria grilled cheese and kids pepperoni flatbread, our baby loved the flatbread, he is so over only chicken tender options everywhere. Chris asked if it was our first visit by our questions and then informed us of all the specials for each night of the week as well as brunch. We will definitely be returning for half priced bottles wine Wednesday. I do think someone should be doing more on social media to give out that info. Tonight is national tequila day and I checked insta and fb for any info on specials and no recent posts were made at all.

I've only been to Foxhole once or twice since they've been open and after yesterday's brunch I remember why. I ordered the Crazy Cajun because the menu description made it sound so good. The menu said it consisted of Fresh Gulf Shrimp, crawfish, spinach, tomatoes, potatoes, cheese, etc. After waiting for what seemed forever, it came out with my wife's and grandson's entree and their dishes were good but the fresh gulf shrimp were anything but- they were the small canned shrimp that had the fishiest taste and smell that you can imagine. The crawfish were the same. I took about three bites and that's all I could take. I still had the fishy shrimp smell in my nose long after I got home. I did let the server know that the dish was inedible and she was kind enough to take it off the tab. I think this was the third time I've tried Foxhole but I promise I'll never step foot back in the door.

Great happy hour! Easy parking. Not open at lunch weekdays but want to go back for the weekend brunch!

I would highly recommend Foxhole!! Me & my party came in to dine. We decided we wanted to sit outside. Our server had no problem moving us. The drinks were good. The Food was amazing. In particular, the venison meatballs were my absolute favorite!! We had some one order the lamb shank, very tender. The burgers were great as well. I really enjoyed the restaurant. Turned a stressful work trip into a moment of relaxation.

Located right by lakeline mall area right off 183, this place has great happy hour daily and on weekends including $4 taco $1 off drinks etc. The Pretzel is small but really good taste; good for share up to two people. Flatbread is very thin crust. Great for an apprizer for your table. Take advantage of the happy hour you get drinks and taco with some $ off. Venison chili has good amount of heat. A lot of meat in it as well Service is very fast. Really enjoyed the dining experience

Unique food options are delicious. Decent pricing for the quality. Our waitress was excited to tell us her favorite things and was very attentive even with a full section.

When I think fresh...I think Foxhole When I have family or friends in town...I think Foxhole When I crave an amazing fresh salad w/ homemade dressing....Again...Foxhole When its rainy & cold during football season and I want the warmth of comfort food...Foxhole Venison Chili..nothing better! When I crave..Oysters...It's Foxhole When I want an amazing burger for the quality of meat....Foxhole "Foxhole" Culinary Tavern is fresh, homemade, locally sourced, delish food and drinks with a welcoming "come as you are" vibe. I could go on and on about quality and consistency from visit to visit...Oh...and the amazing selection of fun beverages with fresh ingredients....and an excellent bar area with actual tables and TVs for sports! Foxhole will always be a "go to" for so many reasons. My dinner last night started with 6 Oysters (they had three to choose from). The accompanying horseradish, Champagne shallots, and cocktail sauce was exquisite as usual. Yum. Yum. And Yum. They did forget the crackers after they asked if I wanted it. I thought it was odd they asked for something that comes with the dish but I said yes. Didn't get the crackers. I was too hungry to ask and they were busy. I must say, it may have been a higher power intervening, as the crackers probably would have took away from the freshness of it all. I had the house burger sans bun as I figured...I didn't do crackers so might as well "roll" with it....Not a big fan of their Jalapeño buns anyway. I miss the old buns they had when they first opened in 2014. I also had a side salad (their dressings are soooooooo good). As expected with Foxhole...had a lovely Saturday night dinner and watched UFC..Thanks Foxhole for a wonderful evening!!! No Pics this time as I devoured my meal!!!

Stopped in for a leisurely Saturday lunch while kids were shopping. Great atmosphere and bartender was friendly and attentive. Brunch menu has lots of breakfast options (and some decadent ones) and limited lunch items. I enjoyed the wood-fired steak salad, which to my surprise was a serious steak on a smaller bed of salad. Opposite of what you usually see. The salad had some nice, unique flavors (e.g., fried green tomatoes and spicy cherry peppers). I like the spot and will definitely come again when in the area.
