Was it crispy? Well, yes! I have high standards when it comes to donuts, and this place delivers. I was genuinely surprised by how fresh was — just that timeless flavor you hope for and rarely get.

Google
The donuts were soft, light, and delicious! The glazed donut was buttery and fresh, better than classic chain donuts. The chocolate cake donut was incredibly moist and my favorite of the bunch. The shop is super charming and nostalgic!

I popped in a little earlier today with a friend (we are visiting from the UK). We had just finished a large meal so didn't have much room left in our stomachs. We decided to try and some of the small donuts. The owner gave them to us for free. He was super friendly and told us about his store. He went above and beyond. The donuts tasted amazing. I would definitely recommend their donuts.

Google
Stopped here on a whim when visiting from out of town. Very friendly staff and tons of awesome flavor options. Ended up trying their apple fritter, old fashion and the chocolate version, a glazed and a cherry batter donut. All were awesome! Can’t imagine a single of their other flavors being anything less. Would definitely return

Google
The best donuts in Nashville…and probably the best apple fritters I’ve EVER eaten! (And I’ve eaten my fair share all over the U.S.) They offer a wonderful variety of fresh cake, raised and specialty donuts, plus muffins, fritters, etc. and they are priced very reasonably as well! The service is excellent, courteous and very helpful. I generally get a couple dozen donuts when I visit and freeze the majority so I can enjoy them when the cravings are overwhelming…which is frequently. :-)

Google
Nothing beats a Fox's Donut...stop reading reviews and just GO! And just maybe you will get a chance to meet the nicest, most humble owner. No doubt it's not just the baked goods that keep people coming back.

Google
I'm picky about my donuts. I know this place has been here for years so my hopes weren't dashed. I'm a simple girl so I just got a plain glazed and a bear claw....but I tell you what it was so good I didn't feel basic at all. The plain glaze was so light fluffy and delicious. And I haven't had many bear claws in my life so I don't know but when I grabbed it it had a little wight to it. It was delicious and very filling. Glad I made the stop!

Google
There are many new donuts shops in Nashville these days but I think this one is older. There are many choices and their donuts are lighter than other donuts. The atmosphere was so cute and nostalgic and stuff was kind.

Yelp
Found this spot on a list of best state donuts. I got an apple fritter which did not disappoint!

Yelp
Located conveniently across from the Green Hills Mall in Nashville, this charming little donut shop offers a delightful selection of freshly made treats in a variety of flavors. As a self-proclaimed glazed donut aficionado, I must say that their version holds up. If you find yourself in the area, I'd recommend stopping by this shop and check out their offerings.

Yelp
Not super impressed. It's a very cool authentic donut shop and I love the fact that they are open later than most other donut shops. Has a very staple like feeling for the area, very classic. But a very average donut. Definitely does the job and they have some great stuff there but for the vibes it gave off I thought I would be a little more impressed by the quality of the pastries/donuts.

Yelp
Donut Den was super cute and cozy! They had a huge selection of donuts to choose from. So, get ready to be coming home with 2-3 donuts. I of course went with the maple donut. It was light and airy with a crisp outer layer. The glaze was sweet and delicious! I couldn't get enough of it. I can't wait to stop by to try something new next time I'm in town. I loved all of the photo opportunities with donuts. So, get ready for some amazing fun pictures. I also, enjoyed shopping for cute gifts to take home with me. From shirts to key chains they have it all. Everyone was kind, helpful, and efficient. So, even if the line is long. It won't take long.

Yelp
Great prices, huge selection, and very fresh donuts! I've ordered from them for many years and it has been the highest quality. Norm is the man! Super friendly and he even helped me carry the boxes to my car. I catered the donuts for an event and everyone loved it. I pre-ordered a couple dozens and they even made pumpkin donuts just for the order. If you're craving a classic donut, this is the place for you. My favorites were the cake types. The pumpkin, blueberry, and chocolate cake ones were good. For classics, the vanilla and strawberry sprinkles was delicious. If you go there, you'll see a wide variety of flavors. Can't go wrong with any!

Yelp
I love that this classic still exists in the heart of green hills. The service is always so friendly. And the doughnuts are divine. This is a great place to order a birthday cake too! I've had much success with those through the years. The hours may shock you. 5/6 am to 9/10 pm depending on the night. That is doughnut dedication!! I tend to reach for the classics. Glazed. Frosted glazed. Frosted glazed with sprinkles. Takes me back to childhood in the best way. Every holiday you can count on fun varieties that are impressive for parties!!

Yelp
As a Lipscomb alumni, I always look for other places to support. I had heard the owners were Lipscomb alumni and stopped in to get some donuts for a study group. These donuts were incredible! Super fresh, soft, and not too sweet. They had a wide variety of flavors as well. I definitely recommend when in the area!

Yelp
Fresh donuts, good selection, friendly employee, and the donuts were light, tasty, and not overly fancy!

Yelp
Best donuts in nashville! The apple fritters cannot be beat. You can call the day before and ask for an Apple fritter loaf! You won't regret it

Yelp
The best donuts in Nashville....plus a wonderful supporter of the community!!!! Love the neon sign too

Yelp
SOO GOOD!! The best glazed donut i've ever had. I have a list of doughnut places i like and they are at the top. the rest of the flavors are good also, but none super exceptional the way the glazed is. Every time i've gone in they are super nice and always have a full stock of donuts, they've never been out of anything. So many treats here including little cakes and slurpe. LOVE!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The best glazed donut! Do not skip out on this place, donuts are fresh and so so good! Even they are slightly warm they just melt in your mouth, such a treat! Service is always quick and friendly. Prices are completely reasonable for quality of product. Just your simple neighborhood donut shop that delivers excellent in their product! Parking is easy.

Yelp
If you're looking for a tasty treat then stop in for a donut. As you walk up, they have a huge donut to take a picture with. Which, makes for a fun memory! They also have lots of souvenirs and treats to take home. Everyone is unbelievably sweet and kind! If you have any questions about anything. They'll happily answer them for you with that southern hospitality. Their menu is diverse and full of endless options to choose from. They also have a big coffee menu if you need that boost of caffeine. We tried the Cherry fritter and the old fashion donut. The cherry fritter was light and airy on the inside with a crisp crunchy outside. It tasted like a cinnamon bun. Unfortunately, I didn't get much cherry. So, that was disappointing. The old fashion donut was dense and rich. With a thin crunchy glaze. Unfortunately, it was baked. So, you don't get that crunchy outside that I love so much. But, if you like a lighter option. Then, you'll love it. Everything was fabulous and fresh! I look forward to coming back.

Yelp
The best donuts. One of selection with that retro vibe. The hours are great. Most the times they have a full case

Yelp
The donuts are wonderful and the customer service is too. This is such a neat shop - fun for everyone who loves something different in a donut. It's clean too. The apple fritters are amazing and HUGE (definitely one you'll want to share).

McLain W.

Yelp
Good doughnuts. Airy and fluffy glazed donuts, wonderful donut holes and apple fritters, great cinnamon roll too

Susan B.

Yelp
So yummy! So affordable. Great variety. I don't mind standing in line for food this good!!

Yelp
Easily the best donut shop in America! It's like going back to your childhood. The moment you approach can you smell the goodness wafting out of the doors. Amazing tasting donuts and the variety is dazzling. The staff and the owner, Norman Fox, are incredibly generous and a joy to encounter. If you're lucky you might just spot Tom Hanks! Enjoy!

Yelp
It's been too long since I've visited the best traditional donuts in Nashville at Fox's Donuts Den in Green Hills but while in the area I needed to get their great apple and cherry fritters, along with glazed old fashioned and donut holes. A Nashville institution, plan to visit soon and let them know that Lonny @donutduster sent you!

Yelp
Can't go wrong with a Donut anytime of the day. This Nashville gem is an AMAZING place to visit. The customer service always great! The Donuts are DELICIOUS! It's small but very Family Friendly!
google avatar

Parker S.

Yelp
A classic mom & pop type donut shop. They have a lot of different donut options (classic, old fashioned, cake, eclair, donut holes) and some legendary fritters. Came on a Saturday morning and picked up a dozen for ~$15 which nowadays is pretty cheap! The old fashioned and red velvet cake donuts I just had were 10/10. I'd highly recommend picking up a box and taking them to a group of people or your family. Not a lot of room on the inside to sit... It's more of a order the donuts and take them home type of a place. We will be back soon :)

Yelp
Went back here a couple of months ago because a friend who's a Nashville native insisted that my first visit was 100% an anomaly. I was hesitant because all I could think about was the fact that I'd gotten three donuts that all went into the trash on my last visit. But I'm so glad I gave it another chance, because my friend was absolutely right! I went back one evening on a lark (after a T-Mobile appointment on the next block), and wow, am I glad I did. First of all, I shared my previous experience with the young woman behind the counter and she was so lovely about wanting to make it right and ensure I had a good experience this go-round. She speculated a bit regarding what may have happened (a) I came super late at night the first time, which may have had some baring on the freshness of the batch from which my order came, and b) there's a possibility that the teenager who served me at that time was very new and inexperienced), and then she comped my two doughnuts--which turned out to be absolutely delicious. In short, I am now a fan. I really hate giving bad reviews and when I realized I'd forgotten to update my old review, I wanted to be sure to give Fox's their flowers. I love that they're totally straightforward; there's no $7 overdecorated pastry play here. These are good old finger-licking, traditional doughnuts, and as a doughnut lover I'm super glad I didn't live in my [apparently random] first impression. Go and enjoy!

Yelp
Fox's Donut Den serves up the best-glazed donuts in the area. A must-try for any old-school donut lover! The service is always good, and the line moves quickly!

Yelp
The Donut Den Is Absolutely Fantastic. I came in late night on a Tuesday about 30/45 before they were closing. I did not expect much due to the time of night , I know donuts are made before opening but decided to give it a shot because.. why not ? As I Walked in I was greeted by a sweet lady ( could've even been the owner) who was wiping down the counter tops and appeared to be having a " Long Day " due to her energy. She kindly walked me through some of her flavors and put together a dozen for around $15. She even threw in a few extras because she said someone had complained the powdered donuts were dry so I tried them in front of her and informed her they were very actually surprisingly good for 8:00 at night . So basically.. if you're in the area , Definitely give them a try! MY FAVORITE WERE THE BLUEBERRY DONUT HOLES !!!

Reese C.

Yelp
How do I start? I absolutely love this establishment! I have tried countless donut places in the Nashville area and Donut Den is by far the best. The staff is as sweet as the donuts! The donuts themselves, oh boy, they are a mouthwatering delicacy. I ordered a holiday sprinkle iced vanilla star. I absolutely adore the star shape! I would definitely recommend Donut Den to anyone I meet!

Yelp
I have been looking for a "basic" donut shop in nashville for a long time and Fox's is perfect! They served us right away because they had four employees working, and the donuts were fresh! The employees were also very nice and you were geeeted right away. They were well priced for Nashville too. For three old fashions and two fritters it came to $11! The donuts were flavorful and just the right amount of frosting. The parking can be a little bit of an issue here, but it is worth it! Will be coming back!

Yelp
I'm only hear to brag about one thing and that is their apple fritters. or any of their fritters for that matter. i always considered these delectables as "something my dad would eat" and now that i'm maturing into that demographic, i totally get the joy of these things. but fox's makes the BEST one i've ever had. they're crunchy and pull apart almost like monkey bread does but inside, they are soft and buttery. when i want a treat, this is now become my weakness. they are consistent in how they make them and have so many loaded up in their case so i know for sure, it's a signature of theirs. i know that they've had peach fritters also so i'm intrigued by what other flavors they will make. but one time, i got them just as they came out of the fryer and that was an experience on its own. i've been a shipley (texas donut shop) donut fan my whole life and nothing was able to ever compare but i now know my nashville staple specifically when it comes to an apple fritter.

Yelp
Cool little donut shop with amazing donuts! Friendly staff and decent pricing. Would come again

Yelp
We stopped at Fox's Donut Den on our way out of Nashville to continue on our road trip. We arrived at 7:30 and they were doing a booming business. They had plenty of friendly staff to take your order. After reading other reviews my husband choose the Maple Old Fashion and an Apple Fritter. I had a bite of his apple fritter and it was great. I got and old fashioned and some blueberry donut holes.

Chuck I.

Yelp
WOW! The donuts are delicious and apple fritters are amazing! The staff is very friendly.
google avatar

Jeanne M.

Yelp
Every donut in this case has a sugar glaze. Nothing is labeled. We ordered 4 donuts and they gave us 2 incorrect ones even after correcting him twice. They were dry and dense. We trashed them.
google avatar

Rommel C.

Yelp
They had a great variety of donuts, which includes donut holes. I got the pink sprinkles frosted and glazed donut holes for my daughters. They loved them.
google avatar

Erin J.

Yelp
A true Nashville staple. Love this place. Get there early for the best selection but don't be surprised if there's a bit of a line. Don't worry - it moves quickly: I'm a sucker for a good plain glazed donut but honestly you really can't go wrong with anything here. Support your local donut shops!
google avatar

Jack B.

Yelp
Fresh tasty doughnuts. Far far better than the garbage sold at Dunkin. The coffee is not terrible, but if there was an area worth improving the coffee would be it. I do recommend this spot.
google avatar

Kendall R.

Yelp
This place will always have a very special place in my heart. I went to elementary school in green hills and on special occasions my parents would bring me here to get a donut. Many years later and I am still a loyal costumer! This place is about as local as you can get for donuts. As other reviews mentioned, they don't chase trends here-- pretty much because they don't have to. Their donuts (and other goodies) speak for themselves. They have delicious breakfast sandwiches, but my favorite to get is the maple crueler. Seriously it is one of my all time favorite donuts it is so dang good!
google avatar

Bridget M.

Yelp
Great place for donuts, especially if you can get the Groupon! Stopped by at 6AM on a Sunday and was met by the nicest gentleman. Even gave me a couple of free donuts! Definitely a must if you're a donut fan.
google avatar

Abhi G.

Yelp
Best donuts in town. Open daily longer than most donut places. The glazed donut is fluffy and soft.

Madelyn D.

Yelp
Hayden is the best worker there. He is super sweet and understanding!!!! Yummy donuts and fritters
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
Apple Fritter! Fox's is a great little donut shop. Located in the small tight corner of a strip mall. Parking in this area was super tight and small. Has a old school feel but also a modern touch. Super popular in the mornings. Line was at least 10 deep at 10 am. Apple Fritter - $2.69 - A friend told me it was one of the best and it was good. You can see and taste the apples. Old Fashioned - $1.33 Sprinkles - $1.33
google avatar

Lorri G.

Yelp
This review is for Norman the owner. I am visiting from out of town and stupidly left my purse sitting in front of the bookstore near by. I didn't realize until we were back at the air bnb. I called here while we waited for a car to drive back, and Norman walked over to the bookstore and found my purse with another neighboring business. I thanked him and said I would come by to buy donuts from his business, and all he could say was how great the hibachi grill where my purse was. He was promoting the business over his, just a genuinely nice guy. Thank you!!!
google avatar

Ashleyrae H.

Yelp
Went there at 8pm and there was still quite a few donuts to choose from. Both the glazed and maple were great. Would go there again.

Clint B.

Yelp
Hands down the best Apple fritter I have ever eaten. We had an assortment of decadent goodies that were ALL top shelf delicious. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere is definitely "back shop" bakery but definitely the place to go donuts, etc.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
The energy from Dani and Liz was off the charts! We were in town on vacation from Chicago and popped into this spot on the way back to the airport. If you don't go for the donuts (I'd recommend the maple and original old-fashioned) go for the vibe. Only giving five stars because I can't give fifteen. Also, ask Dani about her Açai bowl business - it's about to blow up.

Sarah C.

Yelp
Our experience wasn't great. A few didn't seem to be fully cooked. Maybe just a bad day. The glazed was a solid option and the employees were really nice.
google avatar

Jen R.

Yelp
Theeeeee BEST apple fritters EVER!!! LOVE this classic shop in the middle of fancy pants Green Hills. Everyone is always so nice. Try the apple fritters!

Hylton J.

Yelp
Foxs mother fking donut den. Where do I begin? First off, great service, the employees are very nice. Second, their donuts are actually FRESH (looking at you, dunkin'). And third, their pink frosted sprinkeled donuts are to die for. I've been getting donuts here for as long as I can remember and I haven't found a donut shop better than donut den. Donut den is so underrated and needs more recognition.

Thomas M.

Yelp
I ordered a dozen and got a chicken biscuit and everything was amazing. Elijah was so nice and made me feel at home.

Yelp
This is a great place to visit! The donuts are tasty, the staff are helpful, and there are lots of amazing choices. The apple fritter is especially delicious!

Yelp
Totally unremarkable donuts, to be quite honest. Really excited for the kolaches as a Houstonian, but they were sold out. Might revise my review when I get a chance to try their kolaches.
