Went back here a couple of months ago because a friend who's a Nashville native insisted that my first visit was 100% an anomaly. I was hesitant because all I could think about was the fact that I'd gotten three donuts that all went into the trash on my last visit.
But I'm so glad I gave it another chance, because my friend was absolutely right! I went back one evening on a lark (after a T-Mobile appointment on the next block), and wow, am I glad I did.
First of all, I shared my previous experience with the young woman behind the counter and she was so lovely about wanting to make it right and ensure I had a good experience this go-round. She speculated a bit regarding what may have happened (a) I came super late at night the first time, which may have had some baring on the freshness of the batch from which my order came, and b) there's a possibility that the teenager who served me at that time was very new and inexperienced), and then she comped my two doughnuts--which turned out to be absolutely delicious.
In short, I am now a fan. I really hate giving bad reviews and when I realized I'd forgotten to update my old review, I wanted to be sure to give Fox's their flowers. I love that they're totally straightforward; there's no $7 overdecorated pastry play here. These are good old finger-licking, traditional doughnuts, and as a doughnut lover I'm super glad I didn't live in my [apparently random] first impression. Go and enjoy!
