Foxtail

We enjoyed our time at Foxtail and I am curious to see how it develops after its opening. The atmosphere is moody but fun and the service was very well run. As for the drinks, they were good but could maybe use a bit more development. I really enjoyed the vixen (a mezcal, campari, passionfruit drink), but the Saint Berry (a vodka, st germain drink) was a bit sweet/ unbalanced for us. Additionally, I think the space could be improved by either a reservation system or a hostess to help ease the seating system as it ends up crowding the entrance a bit as people stand and wait for tables to open up. We didn't have to wait long for a table, but the system was a bit awkward.

I was ready to see nothing but $20 cocktails given the way Austin has been trending so it was refreshing that virtually everything was $14 to $15 and there's a happy hour with really good deals. We had 4 different cocktails and honestly loved each one. One of the better espresso martinis I've ever had and the mezcal cocktail my gf had was very well balanced, to the point that I would have ordered it and I really dislike mezcal. Our bartender Maggie was excellent and made some great recommendations. We also got to chat with their manager who was very friendly. Decor is also nice and they have a cool projection system cycling through shots of Austin made to look vintage. We're pretty excited to have a proper cocktail bar in the neighborhood as most of our options before this were just sitting at a bar at a nicer restaurant.

We live nearby and took advantage of family in town to pop out for a drink. We missed the recent addition of reservations but Joshua and team were incredibly welcoming and put in the effort to make our night happen. Everyone in our party loved their drinks, the atmosphere was great, and the bartending team showed their experience. We’ll be back for Thursday’s neighborhood (jazz!) night, and look forward to making this a regular haunt.

First of all, Connor and Zach were our bartenders and they were excellent. Made great drinks and took good care of us. I got a daiquiri and my wife got a St Berry. They were both excellent. She also got some wine (not my thing but she loved it). I got some kind of whiskey/honey drink that Zach recommended. Good stuff. We also got some snacks: the cake balls (very rich. Very good but be ready for that!) and the raviolis which were HEAVENLY. Atmosphere was great. Perfect for date night. 10/10 will come back. A new neighborhood haunt.

Great bar with a creative selection of drinks with unique bases (Siete Misterios Mezcal, Planteray Dark Rum, Weber Ranch Vodka, etc), attentive service, and fair price points. Recommend if you want an approachable place to have great drinks with friends. Music is also just right and not too loud. My bartenders were Autumn and Maggie.

Foxtail was sexy. Let me try to explain: The vibes were giving warm, dim, intimate without being cramped. The space mixes art deco with a little bit of Spanish flair, tucked beside/adjacent to Mama Betty's. It's big, but arranged in a way that still feels cozy and social. The crowd? Late 20s to early 40s. Grown and attractive. Lively but not chaotic. Vibrant without being loud. Perfect for dressing up a little, socializing and lingering a little. We Ubered there, so I didn't get a full picture of the parking, but it seems like there may be a little parking garage or validated parking area? Maybe a pay for parking? I would read other reviews. Most of the staff? Fantastic. Professional, warm, funny. Our assigned waitress, however, gave off overwhelmed and low-energy. She was short with communication and it sort of dulled our sparkle for a moment, but the drinks and vibes quickly brought it back. Had we had another waitress, this place would have been a 10 out of 10. On to the drinks: Round one: espresso martinis (made with Tito's). Slightly sweet, bold, smooth, and very sippable. No coffee bean decorations on top, but full of flavor. No cream inside...sort of reminding you of a Black Russian. Served in a ribbed coupe glass. Round two: French 75s with Hendrick's. Punchy lemon flavor, a tad sweet, lower champagne notes but still giving French 75. Garnished with a dried lime slice instead of a lemon. Served elegant in those ribbed coupe glasses (which fit the aesthetic perfectly). The cocktails are well-crafted and intentional. They aren't overly boozy, but they are balanced, smooth and polished. Bathrooms? Immaculate. Unisex. Private stall rooms with their own individual doors. Efficient and modern. No long lines. Opportunity to mingle with the opposite sex in the bathroom if that suits your fancy. Foxtail feels like a good place to start a new chapter. We had good conversations and we enjoyed staying out just a little longer than we planned. Their Happy Hour (4:30-6pm weekdays) is officially on my radar for the future. I'll be back. I want this place to be routine. 9 out of 10.

One of my favorite parts of this bar was the decor - the color scheme goes well with each other, and I can tell every furniture piece was bought with good intentions. The drinks were good and fairly priced. However, we were left with a bad taste from our bartender who did not seem pleased to see a big group enter the establishment, 2 hours before closing. It seemed that handling 10 people was “a lot” for her, describing us as “so many of you” (her words). And based on prior reviews from a month ago, this seems like a common reoccurrence that has yet to be addressed from the manager. We did not feel welcomed, and her responses felt very unprofessional. Despite this, we continued to respect her as a service worker as we understand the stress she may be under during busy weekends. However, I would not return as it seems that the staff do not like being called inconvenienced. Getting annoyed is different than showing it, which made us uncomfortable during our entire stay. Although her demeanor changed near closing, we still felt that the overall experience was negative for simply being a bigger group.

Super cute cocktail bar! The bar itself is stunning and there is a good amount of seating inside! Service is great, plenty of servers taking orders and you can order from the bar! I tried the strawberry sting and loved it - delicious! Parking garage available for this place and the Tex Mex next door!

This is a really nice small cocktail bar. The decor is like a '70's vibe with the mirrors, the lights, the velvet seats with booth seating. The drinks were amazing and the atmosphere was perfect for drinks with an old friend. The bartenders were on top of it. There were no "servers" so we had to order from the bar. *tip to patrons. The volume and language should be less loud with fewer "F" bombs. Takes away the class of the space.

I discovered Foxtail today while eating at Mama Betty's. They literally share the same restrooms. Foxtail gives off this cool, modern and sophisticated vibe. The dim lighting gives Foxtail romantic persona. So, I decided to come to foxtail for happy hour with one of my girlfriends. We had the Saint Berry and espresso martini. Both were very refreshing. Foxtail opened on Thursday, 11/14/2025. It appears to be a great venue for an intimate conversation, friend meetup or family gathering. I met Joshua the bar manager and he was very warm and friendly. Foxtail is full bar with a limited food menu. We also had some Parmesan fries which were quite tasty. We had two amazing servers - Madelyn and Makaysia. Both were super friendly and attentive.

Foxtail is a cute new cocktail lounge that's connected to Mama Betty's. It's a dimly lit, intimate space that would be a cute date night option. All of the bartenders were personable and the drinks they served us were great! I'm looking forward to visiting again.

Love this brand new cocktail bar!!! It's very swanky inside, but still casual and laid back. Service was very attentive and kind. They have two mocktails on the menu (appreciated as I am currently pregnant) - the Humo Fashion was quite tasty! My husband tried two cocktails in the Modern Intrigue section and enjoyed both. The bathroom sharing situation with Mama Betty's next door isn't ideal as there are just 4 co-ed stalls and we noticed quite a line, but it wasn't too bad. So happy for this fun cocktail bar option so close to home!
