Foxtrot and Dom’s Fallout Continues as Liquidation Looms | Eater Chicago

"A 35-location retail chain abruptly shut stores across Chicago, the D.C. area, and Texas, leaving many storefronts still stocked with food and employees, vendors, and community groups scrambling for answers. Rumors of a Chapter 7 liquidation and an upcoming asset auction circulate but remain unconfirmed, while storefronts in multiple neighborhoods still display signage—some even advertising 'coming soon'—and former employees have posted Cash App and Venmo handles in affected windows. The sudden closures have left vendors unpaid and without communication from the parent company, creating urgent inventory-rescue and worker-support challenges." - Ashok Selvam

Me and my friend were excited to try this spot. We heard a lot of good things about it through social media. The ambiance was nice from outside to inside. Nice and quiet. We came to try the new cookie top latte, however they were out of the ingredients to make it and offered to still try to make it another way but told us it wouldn’t taste the same. My friend decided to still try it, however I changed my mind and wanted to try the Toasted coconut matcha latte. They said they were out of caramel (used to make the coconut matcha latte) and that it would still taste the same without it. I disagreed, caramel is a distinct flavor and does make a different especially when it was caramel drizzle around the cup. So, with hesitation, I decided I didn’t even want coffee anymore… I ordered a hibiscus iced tea lemonade. We were also looking at the refrigerated food items before coming to the register but nothing looked freshly made. Especially the sushi, it looked dried up and old, even tho the date said it was still good til tomorrow. We had decided to only get drinks. Fast forward, when our drinks were ready. They forgot the cookie on top of my friends drink (you can get it without it also but she told them she wanted it and already had paid for this - without the cookie it’s $4 less). Also, my lemonade tasted like water. We left highly disappointed and probably will not return.

I mean for 6 dollars getting a 2/3rds full cup with half of it being foam isn’t great. Go to la columbe if you can Nice outdoor area though
