I am a firm believer in giving local businesses priority when visiting a new place, but I also am in favor of checking out the "local" franchises/chains. It was a cold morning, the wind blowing down streets and through alleyways like ghosts seeking only to stir the trash atop the sidewalks and flip the collars on jackets of passersby. Having already consumed pastries, a bagel sandwich, a hot coffee, and Americano (basically, something from each spot I entered) I needed a restroom and water. Seeing the sign and peering through the window, I knew this was exactly what I needed. But I soon discovered that this was no ordinary convenience store.
The food bar was my first clue. Mac n cheese, chicken salad, fried rice, orange chicken, various desserts. There's a deli slicing up the meats, making sandwiches and trays to order. The bakery has cakes (whole and by the slice), doughnuts, and a few cronuts. And if caffeine is needed; they have hot coffee, espresso, Vietnamese iced coffee, teas, and much more. Bottled, canned, etc. Of course when it's time to wind down you can return here as well. Wine, beer, and Japanese whiskey are available room temp or chilled.
It truly is a bodega taken to a whole new level. I came to this location a few times during my visit and everything I had (from lunch to Matcha latte) was of superior quality. You can hop onto their website or app to select pickup or delivery (time for each provided) or, per my suggestion, visit in person and just walk around wondering if you need a grocery bag to hold everything you're about to purchase. I know I almost did.
