I’ve been going to foxtrot since they opened this location, was so sad when they closed, and so excited when they reopened. I come here with my dog at least 3 times a week. Unfortunately, they have just changed management. It’s become so apparent how much Heather, the previous manager, contributed to the success of this location. The first day she was gone I walked in and it felt empty and cold and I didn’t even know why until an employee told me there was new management and they had gotten rid of all the great ideas that had been Heather’s - basically all the ideas that had made it feel more warm and personal than any random coffee shop. The flowers all around, the water station that was always filled, the candle that would be lit at the end of the bar. I’ve bought 2 of their candles just because she did that. The flowers made an impact I didn’t even realize until they were gone. And the sweetest thing of all - her wall of pets that were regulars. My dog got her picture up there and it made us feel so special. After my dog had her hip replacement, during her recovery we worked our way up to making it all the way back to Foxtrot. It was a big day when she could finally do it. And in the meantime, when I went in alone, Heather always asked about her and so would other employees because Heather fostered that kind of environment. I could make coffee at home, but I spend money to go here for the experience. It’s the little details that make me choose this place over making coffee at home and especially over the multiple other coffee shops that are on the same block. I’m giving a 2 star review in the hopes that this is seen, because there’s still a chance for them to bring back the changes Heather had made. If you didn’t initially see the value, I understand but I’m telling you there was value. I’d be so happy to change this to the five star review I would’ve given any day before they changed management this week.
