The 19 Best Restaurants in Glendale

"It doesn’t look like much has changed at Foxy’s since it opened in 1964. The inside looks more like a vintage cabin than a restaurant with tall slanted ceilings covered in dark wood slats. The menu at Foxy’s features a bit of everything like French toast, steak, and spaghetti, plus beer, wine, and cocktails. Go here mainly for the vibes, though the all-American fare does not disappoint." - Rebecca Roland, Matthew Kang

My chicken fried steak sandwich was DELICIOUS along with the tater tots and fries! Friendly and exceptional service! Even though you have to wait a little bit for your food, it is WORTH IT! Such a cute 70s vibe too!

Google
This place is still a great place to eat. My stepmother used to come here since the early 70s,and her favorite things were the hamburgers and malts. Now it my turn my wife and I just had the catfish plate with French fries and coleslaw. To top it off, a strawberry malt. What great service and fantastic food.

Google
The food is good. Service is good depending on time of day take out as recommended. I really don’t like to eat in this place. It’s a little older and the cleanliness could be a little bit better. There’s been quite a few times. I went in there to eat and sat on the left side Near the restroom and most of the time the tables smell like they’ve been right wiped with a dirty rag and that side of the restaurant, kind of smells like toilet water other than that, everything else is good and maybe not wearing aprons outside when going to grab things or smoking

Google
Fantastic little gem in Clovis! We enjoyed all of our food and the waitress was so friendly and attentive! She made us smile!

Google
I ordered the beef Taquitas, but I'll never order them again!!! They were overcooked to begin with, fairly greasy, and lacked any real flavor. I also asked for their cheese dip, and it tasted like something out of a can that had been on the shelf for awhile. It had a few very small pieces of some kind of green pepper, but also had no real flavor. I stopped eating after 3, and still made my stomach upset. Service was exceptional, but the food was a joke, and a bad one at that!

Google

Google
Love this place but every single time i order a mexican pizza i pay for extra meat never ever ever do i get it even tho i remind whoever takes my order to double check. And lately every time i order pizzas they look and taste old and stale. $40 for 2 small pizzas and 2 drinks. Do better!!!

Yelp
Yeah. This crap was a waste of money. 8 bucks and some change for this hot as mess of a "breakfast"

Yelp
Always love coming to Foxy Drive-In amazing food and great service. The inside is always clean and I can't wait to come back for more.

Yelp
This cute little drive in/ diner is a gem. The service was fairly fast even with all of the outside stalls being filled and the inside being completely packed. The lady that brought our food out to the truck was such a doll! The price is great for what you get but the food was so bland.

Yelp
Foxys may be the best place to eat if you ask me. Food is always fresh and good! And the icecream is too die for! The people that work there are alwaya kind-hearted and always helpfull! Now, for the looks! You will fill like your in an old movie! The set up and scenory are so cute! Foxys is truly a place not to miss.

Yelp
The best steak fingers you will ever eat and part of a Clovis tradition you can't go wrong with Foxy's

Paige B.

Yelp
Cute stop but don't fooled. The burger is a frozen patty, worse than school cafeteria. Took one bite and threw it away. Chicken was also gross and the fries were deep fried. Keep driving.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Drive Inn, Taquitos are to die for, ask for the green salsa. Good Menudo also. Don't forget to tip the Car Hops.

Yelp
Local Clovis residents kept telling me I needed to try Foxy's. I tried it and hated it. I got steak fries that smelled of garbage and made me vomit in my mouth a little. I dipped a steak fry in gravy and it was just as bad as it smelled. I had to throw it out to keep the smell out of the car. I'm not sure if this will make sense... the burger was dry and tasted like the color gray. Fries and toast were OK. Dessert was a pumpkin pie a la mode. It was raw dough. Lots of rudeness from the clerk. I dont want to give up on a Clovis establishment that so many people raved to me about so I may try breakfast. Perhaps the morning crew and food redeem this for me?

Yelp
We placed an order over the phone and we went to go pick it up as we are sitting in the parking space and we pushed the red button no one was answering so my brother in law was like hello and someone answered back very rudely and said "are you going to order or not" and he said no one was answering i just have an order to pick up and they said "if your not going to order you're going to have to leave" they said it very rude so we left without our food we love foxys and we are very surprised with this interaction

Yelp
It's a drive-in, so I'm not rating based on a restaurant, plus I used to come here as a kid and might be full of nostalgia. The steak fingers are my go-to (wish the country gravy had more flavor) with tots (crispy, but soft inside). Service was stellar, with the nicest server on the planet who was helpful and accommodating. The food came quickly, but not too quick because it's cooked fresh. When I come to town, I always stop by Foxy's and Taco Box!

Tori M.

Yelp
Passing through town and sounded good. I got a cheeseburger and French fries. Needless to say this food came straight out of the freezer. not worth $
google avatar

Karal G.

Yelp
The food was average. Steak fingers were okay, but the breading wasn't as crispy as the chicken fingers. The cheese balls were cold, the breading was barely fried, and they were the size of kidney beans. So small, and not worth it. It was a carry out order, and we only got one set of utensils. Won't be returning.

Yelp
This place is a time warp gem. Good ground beef tacquitos. don't miss the experience.
google avatar

Charlie H.

Yelp
Taquitos. That is all. I'm sure other things are fabulous but do not miss the taquitos. Perfect snack to grab on the way out of town for a road trip... because it basically takes 3.5 hours to get anywhere in New Mexico.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was good, service was great... Mexican plate was very good rice was a little salty & beans were good... Green salsa was amazing... Taquitos are out of this world order a dozen you can eat that as an entree or take leftovers home after getting something else. Steak fingers were very good home made... gravy need a little bit of milk or water to thin it out but it was very good and hot. The best part was the ice cream... chocolate and strawberry shakes were incredible... I found my new stop on my way to Albuquerque or back to Lubbock if you're in the area looking for some good home cooking stop being worth it. Restaurant is a little dated but that's part of its charm because they want you to feel like you're in a 50s diner or drive up.
google avatar

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Stopped on a work trip and had a cheeseburger and onion rings. So delicious! Also added the cheese balls-not what I had expected but they were yummy! I will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
I like foxy's. It's an old-fashioned Drive-In with burgers Mexican food and breakfast. You can also go in and eat in booth style, 50's diner fashion. Nothing fancy, greasy spoon type food at a reasonable price. A local favorite. The reason for the 4-star rating is sometimes iffy service and I like the cokes at another local drive-In better. However, the ice cream and banana splits are better here.
google avatar

Sam O.

Yelp
This is our favorite drive in in Clovis. The food has a much more homestyle feel compared to Sonic. The ranch burger is my favorite option. They cook everything fresh, so you might want to call ahead to minimize your wait time.
google avatar

Yelp
Foxy's fit the bill for a decent lunch on the road through Clovis. It's not a fancy place and had more than the usual number of flies, due to the waitresses constantly going in and out to service drive-ups. But the waitresses were all very friendly. We weren't super hungry so we all ordered off the kids' menu - cheeseburger, chicken strips (2 good sized strips) and steak strips (also 2 good sized strips). All the food was fine, good basic diner fare. The best part was the fries, included with all the meals. They were fresh, hot and crisp; the way fries should be. Also, the strips dinners came with a very tasty white gravy. It was plenty of food for a good lunch. With 3 drinks, the whole meal was $15 plus tip. This will be our normal stopping point in Clovis from now on. No more bad fast food on the highway!

Yelp
This place is a time warp gem. Good ground beef tacquitos, don't miss the experience!

Yelp
Local drive-in joint, not the most elaborate place but you can count on some tasty food. In town for a business meeting, ordered 3 Taquitas, not taquitos...they're the same thing. Kids order of steak fingers & fries & a bacon cheeseburger. Didn't eat all of it. The taquitos were hot & crisp, decent flavor. Steak fingers definitely needed more seasoning & breading actually. The cheeseburger was legit, seasoned well, cooked right, slice of cheese was melted. A great diner burger. The staff was very friendly & helpful. Definitely a place to stop in if you're in town.

Steven M.

Yelp
Chicken: dry and completely lacking in flavor Pizza: looked like red Barron's- little to no flavor Onion rings: taste like military dining facility quality. I give it 2 stars because the lemonade and burger were actually good.
google avatar

Sean T.

Yelp
Didn't knock my socks off. Staff didn't seem enthusiastic, at least they made an effort. It's better than most of Sonics food. I will say that my experience at the sonic in town was more pleasurable. I never mind eating at a hole in the wall when the food is exceptional and/or it's clean. Neither of those prerequisites were met this visit. They were a little busy but I feel the management on this particular day could've made a better effort.

Yelp
On our road trip back from Colorado, we WERE going to Chipotle. At the last minute, we saw the intriguing allure of Foxy Drive In. After mulling over their tempting menu choices, two of us ordered the steak fingers basket. The food came shortly after, and let me gather my thoughts about the first bite. I believe a deep fried burnt garden hose is how I would describe what I ordered. I could only eat one bite and that was it. The worst steak fingers on the planet! Two others with me ordered hamburgers and they enjoyed them. I guess I just ordered the wrong thing. Shame on me. Take my advice, DO NOT order the steak fingers. Less than 1 Star most definitely.

Sherrie Z.

Yelp
Best steak fingers in the world I was lived here back in the early 60s and 70s and I remembered I was 6 to 8 years old we go to Fox News and eat steak fingers love them and some kind of rolled up tacos Deep fat fried I don't remember what they're called a trial
google avatar

Yelp
I am so sad to see that Alan did not enjoy his meal at the Foxy. Maybe it was a bad night. I use to go to the Foxy as a kid and still stop in when I am back in Clovis. I now take my husband and kids and we all love it. Taqitos are the bomb, think they have a special one night of the week on them. I know we use to do that when I was little. The Hamburger rocks AND FRIED BURRITO!! Fried Burrito, you never see these anymore, it did not disappoint. I give Foxy 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. Really fun place if you are with the family.

Addison S.

Yelp
I can't seem to get enough of this place! We always enjoy pulling in and getting some freshly fried food...it's the good stuff. My favorite is the catfish- so tender and buttery! The steak fries are also a good go to.

Yelp
Have dined here since I was as child visiting my Grand in the summers some 50 + years ago . Mexican pizza would compete my visit . All I can say is yummy, now I'm older a d retired here I make it my business to pick up a pizza once a month .

Yelp
A really cool retro-style drive in with a large variety of food options. They have tacos, burgers, tamales, fries, onion rings, shakes, etc. The staff works extremely hard and when they are busy they get it done! The beef taco was great and the shell was deliciously crunchy. The taquitas are really good also. This is a fun and tasty place for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Elley S.

Yelp
Chili cheese burger was ok but my husband and daughter both had a bone in theirs. Way too much mustard to taste the green chili. No catsup for the fries. Half of it went in the trashToo bad because it was great a few years ago when we drove thru.
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
Breakfast burritos are awesome!! We call order in when we go out of town. Always good

Steven S.

Yelp
Went to Foxys to pick up one order of menudo. When I got home I realized I was given the wrong order so I called them and they asked me to take it back right away because the one who ordered it was there to pick it up. When I got there and gave it to the car hop she took it right away to another car. That is not right, and it's down right unsafe! I will never again order from there if this is the way they handle things. I know I wouldn't want something someone else had picked up, taken home and brought back!!
google avatar

J T.

Yelp
This hole-in-the-wall place is a local landmark. Yes, it is not nice and pretty like your Taco Bell-type of restaurants. If you want fake Mexican food, by all means...go there. The staff was nice enough but I think they are probably nicer to the locals, which is completely understandable. We had the Taquitos. They were delicious. Totally greasy and bad for you but we loved it. Try this place but keep an open mind!

Yelp
I stopped at the Foxy hoping to get one last green chile fix before leaving New Mexico. What a terrible mistake! First, I expected a drive-in to be relatively quick. Not necessarily fast-food quick, mind you; but it took over 20 minutes from ordering to receive my food--and the place was well less than half full. The "Mexican" food was neither that nor anything resembling traditional New Mexican; rather, it was a piss-poor imitation of Tex-Mex. The enchilada sauce was a rusty brown, the tortillas a soggy gray, and the ground beef looked as though it came out of a can. All of it was incredibly bland, tasting like nothing so much as wet cardboard. The whole thing came in a tiny little tinfoil tray like a 1950s TV dinner, with no rice or beans, just a little pile of shredded iceberg lettuce on one end. I'd sooner eat Taco Bell than repeat that meal. After choking it down because I'd already lost too much time to go somewhere else, I ordered a chocolate malt, hoping to wash the previous non-flavors out of my mouth and memory. Alas, what I got contained no trace of malt powder; rather, it had the flavor and consistency of cheap vanilla soft-serve mixed with Hershey's syrup. Yuck! Somehow this place has stayed open since 1956. I hope and pray that it has sharply declined in the recent past, and that people in Clovis don't actually LIKE its current fare!
google avatar

Lavonna L.

Yelp
We have ate here several times. Food is always hot and fresh. Hands down best fried chicken in this area! Servers are friendly and check on you several times as you eat.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Wow the history behind it, I think this place is da bomb. Did you know Buddy Holly and the Crickets frequented this place back during their Clovis recordings? Taquitos are good, and the Banana split was best this side of the Mississippi. Keep going strong Foxy! P.S. To Alan, this is New Mexican everything aint Tex-Mex.
google avatar

Erica S.

Yelp
I tried the taquitoes here (they call them taquitas here, not so sure why) and they were not as great as many people in town said they were. They were super super dry & over cooked. The red sauce that comes with them tasted like a watered down ketchup.
google avatar

Kathryn D.

Yelp
This place is great! Super clean, efficient staff, good food and famously fabulous authentic 50's Americano feel. Take your family on a field trip here! If you are headed west on a road trip.. Hit this gem..great bucket list place!!!!!

Albert F.

Yelp
Driving thru Clovis NM and we saw this drive-in, looked ok, lots of cars and people. We like these little hole in the wall places. Got waited on right away. Ordered waters, milkshakes (strawberry and a pineapple) both were good. I ordered the shrimp basket, 21 shrimp and fries. Shrimp were small but that's normal and cooked well done. Now for the fries, they were not cooked all the way and were limp and soggy. Same with my wife's fries. Could not eat them. Wife also got chicken fingers and they were ok but could have been cooked longer. They only came plain, wish they had some hot sauce on them. I know this is a small town but our waitress had her family eating there with husband but he was on his phone the whole time and when the waitress (mom) would go to a table the kids would follow. Not a good thing. She spend most it time watching them then the customers. Don't know about the rest of the food on menu but I would not recommend this place other then for the shakes
google avatar

Gail H.

Yelp
Great food done the old fashioned way. Took a little while but worth it. Will definitely go back when we travel trough Clovis.
google avatar

Patricia D.

Yelp
Cool old-school atmosphere and food. You can drive in or dine inside to telephone a waitress from your tables very own decor. We always get taquitas, pizza, or cheeseburgers.
google avatar

Peter F.

Yelp
I've enjoyed the food each time I've stopped in. Friendly waitstaff, variety of food and quick service. I ordered the chicken fried steak which was pretty good but the "salad" left something to be desired. I also ordered the banana split for dessert and hit the jackpot! It was huge and tasted amazing!
google avatar

LonerSurfer ..

Yelp
Anyone can make a great breakfast burrito (Foxy's is exceptional!). It's the green sauce that makes it. HOT and delicious!

Angeleena G.

Yelp
Good food just one problem if you are eating outside in your car they will not give free refills and they pit so much ice in it I think I got 10 oz of soda in a 32 oz cup

David M.

Yelp
This place will remind you of an old fashioned burger and malt look, because it is. The old fashioned booths, retro wall designs and decorations were nice. Unfortunately, the waitress didnt bring the "welcome" feel. In addition, while the food wasnt bad, it didnt make me want to come back.
google avatar

Shaun W.

Yelp
This place was a total disappointment. Very slow service....The waitress tried to be smart and instead of writing our order down she tried to memorize it. That didnt work since she completely forgot my steak fingers. My wife specifically said she didn't want a double patty on her burger but it came to her as a double anyway. The pizza which claims to be 9 inches is barely 6 inches and was the worst pizza ever. We didnt even know we could get refills until I heard the waitress offer another table. We were never offered a refill the entire hour. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of the shake...it was pretty great. If you're going for the food don't waste your time.
google avatar

Cassandra D.

Yelp
Hot fresh fries. Cold, creamy milkshakes and good cheese burgers. I would recommend going there any day over Mc Donald's. They have a wide range of food from breakfast to mexican and hamburgers, fries and yummy onion rings.
