"A trip to the beach isn’t complete without a visit to Fractured Prune, a casual micro-chain and coastal Delaware staple that’s been around since the ‘70s. Pillowy cake donuts are fried to order and coated with your choice of glazes and toppings, from mocha and marshmallow to crumbled bacon and cookie crumbs. We recommend them all, but maybe not all on one donut. Fractured Prune claims that there are 155,648 different combinations of toppings, but for those who feel overwhelmed by that decision, they have a menu of set flavor pairings for you to choose from. Don’t leave town without getting one of their classics, like the OC Sand that’s topped with honey glaze and cinnamon sugar. " - nicole schumann

Google
Amazing warm donuts!! The grandkids loved getting to each pick their own glaze and toppings, and they were all delicious! The service was great and very friendly. We will be back!!

Emily Finch

Google
Best place to get fresh hot out the fryer customized donuts!!!! So many flavors to choose from. They even have a great coffee selection. They have a few locations. Even the one in ocean city Maryland on the boardwalk. The staff is super friendly and the donuts are always piping hot fresh out of the Fryer. Don't forget to stock up on you're merch and support a local business!!!

Google
Awesome place, great people, & Fantastic Doughnuts!! Yummy

Google
Its not often I immediately have to rush to google to make a review but after having the peanut butter cup donut and the smores donut I have to let people know they are some of the best donuts I have ever had. The fractured prune staff are also very nice and look like they take a lot of pride in their work.

Google
Delicious fresh donuts with a decadent array of flavors such as Strawberry Shortcake, Sandy Beach, and Apple Pie. My faves are the apple pie and the strawberry shortcake. The plain donuts and donut base remind me of funnel cake taste. Off the coastal highway.. coming from Rehoboth beach it’s a U-turn to, then on the right. Yummy!

Google
The Fractured Pune is unique. The prepare the donut once you order it. Basically, you give them the topping and then they add it. My donut was still hot and was very good and tasty. I had the coconut which really melted right into the donut. The maple bacon well also quite good. There was not a wait as they made my donut.

Google
The owners are so kind and accommodating. We always plan a stop every time we visit Dewey. The fresh, made to order donuts are a highlight. Make a point to go here. You will be glad you did.

Yelp
I visited this donut shop while on a recent trip to Delaware. When searching for coffee and donut shops that are in the area, I can across this place on a list of Eater's best donut shops in America. Needless to say, I was excited to try it and just happen to be traveling to a place that was so highly regarded. While I liked this donut shop a lot, I can't say it's one of America's best. Don't get me wrong, they have very good donuts and it's a must visit. They have a wide variety of interesting flavors. The principle thing they do that makes their donuts yummy is they are all fresh made. The donuts are made in front of your eyes with a donut machine, then dipped into a sauce that gives the donut its flavor. This makes the donuts warm, something that is usually found at a donut shop. The down side of this is that service is slow. When I went, there was only staff member for entire the donut shop, and took him painfully long to make and bag all of the orders. I went during the off season in the winter, so it's possible they have more workers during the high season, so service might be faster then. Also, be warned the donuts are super sweet. The ambiance is perfect for the beach town that it is in. One weird aspect is there is a lot of Dale Earnhardt memorabilia in the donut shop. In sum, the donuts here are hot fresh and delicious.

Yelp
Fractured Prune is hands down the friendliest donut shop I've ever visited! The donuts are made on the spot, ensuring they're fresh and warm when you get them. They offer a large variety of flavors and toppings, so there's something for everyone to enjoy. The service was exceptional--staff members were welcoming and eager to help you choose the perfect donut. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're a donut lover; it's an experience you won't want to miss!

Yelp
I couldn't sleep the night before. I was so excited to get my donuts in the morning. I went there at 8 AM as soon as they open the doors I was the first one in. The staff were so friendly and the donuts do not disappoint. I ordered six flavors and they were amazing, also the store is very cute. It has a coffee section and a donut section and it sells clothing if you want. I love this place and it's sad We don't have any locations at home.

Hannah H.

Yelp
THESE WERE SO GOOD UGH! I love you fractured prune. While they are sweet, they have so much flavor. They are what a donut should taste like. The service was very good and is given to you in about 5-10 minutes!

Julian B.

Yelp
Great base donut, super light and yummy. My criticism is that everything was piping hot so any frosting or topping melted. Still yummy and pairs well w some coffee.

Lynne B.

Yelp
I thought the donuts were awful. They were greasy and no taste whatsoever. The people who worked there were very nice . The ambiance is nothing but it is a donut store. If this is supposed to be a takeoff of the Duck Donuts in the Carolinas, then you need to go back and take a few lessons. I am totally surprised at the ratings this shop has......we won't be returning.

Angelique M.

Yelp
Always one of our first stops when we visit Rehoboth or Ocean City. It's an absolute must at least once during your stay. Lots of great varieties!

Ian P.

Yelp
This place has the best customer service. They really make you feel at home here and it's genuine. They take care with making the donuts and are great with kids too.

Alisa W.

Yelp
Visited on a Sunday morning and must have lucked out because there was not the wait other people have mentioned. Actually, we had to let people ahead of us because there was so much on the menu to read and look at. We finally settled on a half dozen and brought home the warm, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, delightfully flavorful donuts. Check out the offerings in the photos. I recommend you pick a few to prepare for the quick-pace ordering. Enjoy!

Eastie T.

Yelp
One of the best-fresh donut place, sad we are missing this in NoVA. There was huge line when I got there, the staff was patient and efficient.

Melissa F.

Yelp
best thing to ever happen to me by far. i might have to go to fractured prune anonymous soon because i am addicted

Kayla G.

Yelp
Best donuts!!! I always make sure to stop here at least once or twice while in the area. Amazing donuts with a wide variety of toppings and great coffee too!

Mark G.

Yelp
It's a weird place, and you should embrace it because of that. The donuts are all over the place with regards to flavors and textures - in a very good way. There's peanut and mint and margarita and oh so many sprinkles. There's so many options it'll make your head spin. These are not dainty artisanal pastries from Williamsburg or West Hollywood. These are sugary bombs of fried unhealthiness. That's what you're there for. They have a tacky, caricatured, garish colored motif, both the food and the decor. This place is consistent. It does not back down. Minor gripe- the coffee's pretty meh. Good to wash down your donut though. However, overall, 9.5/10, highly recommended. Worth checking out. Also - there's a review down below that the wait is too long. You know how you know a restaurant is good? You have to wait really long. You don't have to wait at Dunkin' Donuts or for the 16-hour-old gas station donuts. There's a reason for that.

Doug P.

Yelp
It was nice to stop in for something different while we were on vacation. The donuts are cake donuts and made as you order so prepare to wait a bit. There are lots of different pre-made donut ideas to choose from or you can design your own. We ate at the picnic tables outside and divided up the donuts into fourths so we could try them all. Some flavors were definitely stronger contenders than others (Rolo, Lemonade, & Death By Chocolate) while some seemed a little flat (Cookies and Cream & Banana Pudding).

Gabe P.

Yelp
Visited for a weekend and ate the donuts here for breakfast Sunday morning. These were probably one of the best donuts I've tasted. Donuts were warm, good texture crisp texture on outside and fluffy on the inside. The service was also 10/10. They were fast, attentive and so very friendly. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area again!

Sean M.

Yelp
More like "Fractured Operations" Expect to wait 30-50 mins for your doughnuts. Mediocre donuts Wish they had a Krispy Kreme here in Rehoboth

Susan M.

Yelp
The service was OUTSTANDING! Super friendly staff and happy to guide you through their selection to ensure you got what you wanted! The donuts were fantastic! Warm and perfect! Definitely go there!!

Courtney K.

Yelp
Bottom Line: Friendly employees and cake donuts made to order. Today was my first trip to Fractured Prune ever. I'd heard good things about it and I was curious. After studying the menu for a bit I decided on a chocolate coated donut with rainbow sprinkles and my husband had the French Toast donut. Both were good and had a delicate crunch on the outside which I really enjoyed. I found these made to order cake donuts to be similar to Duck Donuts or Sandy Pony Donuts but a tad greasier. The staff was welcoming and energetic - overall a nice experience on a Sunday morning.

Ebonie R.

Yelp
I visited this store on a Monday, but they was closed, (guess that's the universe way of teaching me patience)so I came back on one of the open days( felt like the morning of the 1st day of school, up early, dressed, can't wait)to purchase some donuts, it's so many to pick from, (I was way to excited and probably should have picked before I arrived) so I winged it. Now if you're like me(anything sweet makes me happy) you want to place your order with someone pleasant, and Jody was just that, so with pleasant service and the best donuts around, that day was a good day, I mean I only made it to the car before I Wolverined the box open and was graced with rays of sunshine, anyway put it in your GPS system, tell'em I sent you, (I only been there once so far), I'm pretty sure we're best friends now so, yea!

Martin G.

Yelp
Warm donuts and really good flavors. I will say that the ordering was a bit overwhelming. We had a group of 5 and were trying to figure out what to order. Between the social distancing and the order takers being a little overly anxious to take your order, we felt stressed. Like we needed a vacation from the experience to unwind. The donuts were good ... they weren't "hot" when we got them but figured it was due to everything being a bit "off" from COVID. Plenty of flavors - they even have breakfast sandwiches, which we had no idea before arriving.

Adam C.

Yelp
You know how sometimes you just crave something? This was not just donuts but made to order donuts lathered with any sugar coated delight you can imagine. I had the coconut so delicious but the maple bacon was a close second. Between the fries at Reho and these donuts I am glad to be entering into the fall.

C M.

Yelp
If you want fresh hot donuts, fractured prune never disappoint! But they're good when they are only hot though.

Jose M.

Yelp
Recommend. Got us some breakfast from here. The Apple and Bacon donuts were both really good, but I'll give some extra love to the bacon one because BACON. Their sandwiches are nothing fancy, literally sandwiches, but they're well done and hit the spot. The pumpkin latte was tasty if slightly watery. Their menu is limited but I enjoyed the food.

Robert V.

Yelp
Donut heaven, freshly made, hand dipped, worth the wait. We got a a dozen which hit the spot perfectly for morning breakfast. Highly recommended!

Chris M.

Yelp
Well color me FECKED. Grandpa picked up a box after walking by it for the last week. It was nice and warm and GEEZUS... delicious. This is NO BUENO for my diet. But of course I had a sample of most of them. And forgot to take a photo until we were halfway done devouring. Good thing we leave tomorrow! I would NOT be in a good place if we had these everyday while we were here!!

Kim B.

Yelp
This location became our new favorite last year. They make things super easy and safe, you place your order then go to your car and they bring it out to you. The donuts are cooked to order which makes it extremely difficult to exercise any level of self control but calories don't count at the beach right?! My favorite will always be O.C. Sand but with so many flavor/toppings combinations you can't lose. Counting the days till we're back at the beach in May.

Kyle L.

Yelp
Fractured Prune has THE BEST donuts I've ever had. They've been a beach staple way before Duck Donuts became a thing. I love their homey-vibe and their customer service is always amazing.

Matt G.

Yelp
Incredible. We get a bunch, but then eat half of each to share, so it's not as sinful as eating them all by yourself lol. -- Plus the donuts are smaller, which I prefer. The line can get long, but it moves quickly. We got there for around 8:15AM every day we went and maybe waited 10-15 minutes tops for us to be served. Sometimes I feel like beach restaurants are over-hyped or overrated... The Fractured Prune is not one of them.

Andrew V.

Yelp
I'll keep my review as short and sweet as possible. Doughnuts are really good. It ends there. This place is in desperate need of new management. Mama and crew are simply doing this place injustice. Lines of people mean you have a demand, but your poorly trained staff(who also look miserable) aren't getting it done. They have about 30 rubermaids of different toppings for doughnuts behind the counter; looks cheap and god knows how long it's been there. Coffee tasted like water and served in a plain styrofoam cup? Really? Walk in and you are greeted by cheesy T-shirt's and no staff until you make it to the counter after waiting an eternity. Wow, what potential this place has of operated properly... Good doughnuts but everything else is so bad I won't be back unfortunately.

Orkie B.

Yelp
There is not a bad doughnut in this store! The fresh yeasted doughnuts are a mouthwatering must try, the OC sand are my personal favorite!

Emily G.

Yelp
Donuts are FRESH and made to order, kind of pricey ($1.95 for one), and not exactly like the big "fluffy" kind of donuts I'm used to (more cakey), but delicious nonetheless Got blueberry hill, morning buzz, and carnival. Honestly from reading reviews I was expecting the flavors to be stronger, but I don't like it when it's too sweet so it was good for me. Regardless of the toppings/glaze flavor, the donut itself was my favorite part.

Adam K.

Yelp
As far as doughnuts go, no one beats Fractured Prune. My wife and I miss the location near our house and happened to be in Rehoboth, so we of course had to get some! There are so many flavors you will probably want to try them all, but my absolute fav is the OC Sand, which has a few similar variations which are all good. The folks behind the counter were happy to give recommendations and didn't rush us; they simply asked how many we wanted so they could start frying them. That's right - fried fresh to order. No cold or soggy doughnuts here. Everything was amazing and we devoured our half dozen right in the store (there's a bunch of tables and a TV setup so you can relax). Just make sure you've got some napkins; they're not the neatest food to eat. 100% recommended.

Julia F.

Yelp
Amazing customer service, cute atmosphere, and good food. It was my first time there and a donut broke, so they gave it to me for free to try.

Kathy T.

Yelp
Pretty good donuts! These are more like cake donuts and they have multiple varieties of flavor. When you order, these donuts always come out hot and fresh. I have tried various flavors and I think the one that sticks out to me is lemonade and key lime pie.

David C.

Yelp
The wait times here are insane (30 minutes for 6 donuts). The donuts range from average to good in quality; considering the wait times I would've expected the donuts to be much better. The parking lot is also a disaster.

Christopher M.

Yelp
Can you get good donuts for cheaper elsewhere, yes. Are these the best donuts I've ever had, probably not. They are pretty good though. And most of the time, any variety of donut I've ordered has been really tasty, hot and fresh. Depending on the day, you might be waiting a bit for your order but not always. This last trip was relatively quick even though it was getting busy. That said, whenever I'm in the area, I always stop by fractured prune. It's definitely a must for me.

Hannah B.

Yelp
Donuts were good. Much better than store bought and they make them fresh, which is obvious. However the coffee is nothing special. They add heavy cream and sugar without asking as well, so make sure you direct them not to if you don't want that. It was $20 before tip for just two coffees and two regular donuts, so I don't know if we were overcharged or not but that seems expensive to me, even for the beach.

Kyle R.

Yelp
I've read a lot about Fractured Prune so my wife and I finally had to try them. We were not disappointed. Staff was extremely friendly and made the process very easy, it could have easily gotten overwhelming given the amount of choices and combinations you can make. They even let us try one for free which was nice. Granted, we came during what is considered the area's off session, so that made the experience better. We tried a while bunch of their signature flavors, and while some of them were not our favorite, most of them were very good. My wife and I would definitely come back!

Che D.

Yelp
My friend found this place from a Til Tok video she saw. The staff was super friendly and helped us with our selection. The donuts where fresh and tasted pretty good. All of their donuts are cake donuts but not the usual dry boring cake donuts. They're moist and was still tasty hours later.

Ca A.

Yelp
Donuts are amazingly delicious! They make them fresh and hot on premises. Staff is very nice! We will be stopping by again!

Aika L.

Yelp
This is hands down the greatest donut shop around. Pros: Fractured Prune's hot, gooey donuts made to order just can't be beat! There is a menu full of unique combinations if you can't decide. (A few suggestions would be the OC Sand, French Toast, Blueberry Hill, and Carnival!) They offer by the donut, half a dozen, and a dozen. Good luck leaving without a whole box! I have friends from all over the East coast who insist on coming to Fractured Prune every summer. Best donut they've ever had. Cons: 1 dozen donuts = $15 The hours can change without notice and the lines can be long in the summer. Worth it? Yes.

Jay D.

Yelp
Absolutely adore this place. This is the first stop my family and I make on our yearly trips to DE. My kids look forward to going back the second we pull out of the parking lot to come home, and talk about it until we make our way back down again. My family love all of the different flavors, but I don't have a problem just sticking to the plain. While the options they give are creative, even just the plain ol' doughnut by itself ranks as one of the best i've had. The fact that they are hot and fresh per order makes a world of difference. For those of you who enjoy a cream filled or jelly doughnut, please realize what you are coming here for. It is one type of homemade doughnut, with different flavored glazes and toppings. However, I promise you... you should not pass this place up!

Becca R.

Yelp
The doughnuts here are good but I found it hard to differentiate between the flavors. They all tasted relatively the same with small subtle differences. The texture was good, nice chewy dough. The size is also good for sampling multiple flavors.

Mike S.

Yelp
If you are down the Beach, you need to start your morning off with a hot dipped donut from the Fractured Prune. I have been to the locations at the Jersey Shore and when I found out there was one down the Beach i knew I was in for a treat. Many flavors for all your taste buds. I prefer most kinds with coconut and chocolate chips as you can see in my pictures. If you are in the area please give them a try you will be thanking me later. Plus you can walk off the calories later by taking a walk down the Boards.

Spammy D.

Yelp
BewAre- closed on Tuesday and Thursday due to staffing issues. Not sure if that is this week only or not , but when you leave the house telling a group of hungry kids you will be back with best donuts they've ever had , it sucks to come home empty handed. However based on the past 15 years or so I can say their donuts deserve 5 stars. I guess I have to plan one more rehoboth beach trip this summer!!!

Laura P.

Yelp
The staff at F.P. are so friendly and patient with customers! We ordered a dozen at the counter and waited in the merch room until they were ready, in order to give other customers space to order. Texture-wise, the donuts are uniformly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside without being super dense and crumby like most cake donuts. I think it's because they are made fresh to order. The pineapple cake donut was a real treat with a scoop of pie filling on top!

Gracie D.

Yelp
YALL. These donuts are out of this world. They are cake donuts and you can make your own donut (toppings of your choice) or go with their list. Either way, you cannot go wrong. GO GO GO if you are near bc it will not disappoint. Parking available right outside the door, masks required, no indoor seating, and the employees were super friendly!

Nancy R.

Yelp
Why can possibly be bad about donuts made to order. The donuts are amazing and the management makes you feel like a long lost friend. A go to during the summer when company is in town.

Aaron Z.

Yelp
My wife and I came here for breakfast. The inside is pretty colorful, just like the donuts here. We decided to split the maple bacon and I ordered the death by chocolate for myself. It took a few mintes for the donuts to come out, but when they did they were nice and warm. At $2 a donut this is a fairly steep price. However the plethora of options, freshness, and taste make this a worthwhile stop. Maple bacon was one of the better ones I've had.
