Great little restaurant in the heart of Mercer University. Definitely a great game day restaurant. My kids and I all had the wing combos a nd were full and happy. Great service and cool atmosphere. We will be back.

As good as ever! Best pickle chips anywhere! I'm a graduate of Mercer, so this was always the go to spot in College (10+ years ago!) Haven't been able to visit since 2019. I live across the country now... nowhere I've ever gone has as good of pickle chips: actually crispy, served with the best sauce. And I have dreams about the sauces - so many options, all of them delicious! So glad this place is still open and still serving the best!

Got there around 8:30PM on Friday to eat in, but they only had takeout. The atmosphere is collegial and great for the Mercer students who were ordering as well. The staff were great and the food was ready in short order. I ordered wings and artichoke bites, both were very tasty and prices are decent.

Staff is friendly and engaging. The wings are top tier. I love going here. Ive recently discovered this place. I need to go back soon. They have really spicy options and I love spicy.

I came back to Francars after more than 10 years ago when I was a Mercer student. The food is amazing, love the wing flavors and fried pickles. I appreciate that they kept the prices reasonable when I was a student and they continue to do so. Mr and Mrs Frambro thank you so much!

100% hands down the best wings in Macon, if not the best wings in Georgia! there are loads of different sauces to choose from as well, ranked by spice level. you literally cannot go wrong with any of the sauces but i highly recommend Amazon and lemon pepper with a kick if you’re into spicy things, or tangy peach if you like something more mild. there’s other options here too if you don’t like wings. the service is great too! i have been coming here for years and will definitely continue! Grabbed a to go order, but I will be back to try more. I had the tilapia and fries. Fish was cooked perfectly, but smaller fries were cooked a little too long. I did see others with wing orders, and I can't wait to try them.

If I could give this place zero I would. Sharon had a nasty attitude. What is her problem? She is absolutely rude and it doesn’t make any sense. I want be eating here anymore!

This restaurant has the best wings in Macon. So many different flavors from mild to really hot some sweet and spicy but always delicious. I also love the Philly cheesesteak. If you have never been go try you don't know what you are missing!!

Ordered online through their website and got wings and fried okra, both amazing. Macon heat and Mercer gold were the flavors that we arrived upon. Highly recommend. We ordered close to closing time and they gave us a ring to let us know. Can't wait to try their other sauces.

Excellent wings. Have to be the best in Macon. So many flavors and they taste amazing. I ordered a few 2 oz. cups n some fries to sample before I ate and let me tell you... it was well worth it. My wife gas the ten piece. Half boomerang and half tangy peach... and I didn't get to sample a single one although she said she only wanted a 5 piece when we got there. I had the 10 piece combo with fried okra and we shared. I got honey with a kick and Macon heat. Altogether we spent right about $35. Staff is friendly enough...just "don't pour no" ice in their trash lol. Oh and that pink and yellow lemonade mix is IMMACULATE!!

I've called to compliment them on how good their wings, tenders, and curly fries are. THAT is how good this place is. Our go-to order: 10 hot & honey 10 Mercer gold Small order of curly fries (YOU MUST DO CURLY FRIES) 3 tenders (we get them plain, you can get them dipped.) Service is always fast and they are kind. I'm so happy this place is within walking distance, albeit- probably NOT so great for my waistline. HA! I've seen several comments about the wing size- and this is because this is good, quality meat. The oil is always fresh, and everything comes out piping hot. About to head over and pick up our order right now. Enjoy!

Fran cars are the best wings anywhere and I have eaten my share. The sweet peach is fabulous. Love the ladies that work there, so friendly and sweet. Even during COVID you could eat outside. When our grandkids come, this is their go to place.

I was holding on a phone call when I walked in and was not speaking on the phone. The lady working the counter did not greet me. I said hello to her, but she still not respond. After awkwardly waiting at the counter for appx 6 mins, I told the cashier that I was ready to order. She yelled at me and said "I cannot take your order because you are on the phone!" I was baffled. The whole time other than me walking in, my phone was on the counter and not to my ear. What are we in Kindergarten? I left without ordering and told her I would patronize some other business. Very rude and acted as if me order there was an annoyance to her. I'll take my hard earned money elsewhere. She was a bully and I would not stand for it.

Loved it, small wong done perfectly . Wide array of flavors. I love akin gold. Sign me up for another order next week. All I need is a cold beer and a box of wings . Happy man !!!!!

Food is still good, and service has improved. Hope it continues to. Service used be awful. Soup nazi style service is what they had. It has improved tremendously and ai really like the food. Is this long enough to post now?

The wings were small which I like! I hate ginormous wings, so if you like the big one this place isn't for you. The taste of these were really good and it was the perfect amount for a little snack!

The owner is a crook and rude. He made the mistake of not assuring that his rule about subbing fries require a different price on the Waitr app and snatched my food out of my hand. He also charged my card more money without my consent. Waitr is kind enough to issue a refund. Before any of this, I attempted to remove an item from my order but he refused to do so, but as mentioned above he snatched my food out my hand. That means he was willing to throw the whole order out. So, why not remove that item so that I could stay in my budget? This is why black people don't support black-owned businesses. No customer service or home training. White folks would have tried to make the issue right. I should have gone to chick fil a like I first thought. Don't get robbed like I did and they will rob you. Let this be your last resort for eating out. And the food was not all that good.

Francar's is delicious! I've never had anything but good experiences here. Lots of food for low prices! The wings are the way to go--any style!

I love this place and I'm headed there now...driving from Savannah to Atlanta...I saw all the comments about the "bad service" man stop it. That's part of the experience plus you can't lemon pepper wings like that anywhere else in America!! Love this establishment, the mean employee and the best wings in the whole dang south!

Not very nice people working there. Felt like we were bothering them. They a "system" for checking out etc but didn't tell us about it and made us feel like idiots. Not sure what the problem is. Food is only ok

Waste of time. Servers acted like they were doing us a favor. We had asked permission three times to get a paper plate "a paper plate. "!!!!Tea was not fresh did not offer to make new just a blank stare. price was too high bad bad bad Gave this restaurant 2 tries same result

I returned to this location today and I must say the customer service was a whole lot better. I got the same thing I did last time, the Macon Heat wings combo. It wasn't as good as I remembered but the improvement in customer service made up for it.

Mr. Carl, owner of Francars, is one of the hardest working men I know. He always goes the extra mile for his restaurant and customers. Francars is known for their sauces. The most popular one is Mercer Gold. It's the best of its kind in Macon, GA. While similar to Zaxby's Hot Honey Mustard, Mr. Carl's sauce is way better. Order the chicken strips!

They got too many damn rules....the food is good but not good enough to make up for the Nazi like rules. You HAVE to sit or stand where they tell you. If im spending my money i feel like i should be able to pick my seat if the place is empty

Great food. Typical wing joint food. Service was a bit off the day we went but Francar'd is a great asset to Macon and Mercer Village.

Worst service I have ever had. No joke or over exaggeration. Not sure about the wings cause I just had some nuggets (which were ok) but the people are incredibly rude and don't realize they work in the SERVICE INDUSTRY. If the mercer students without a car had some more restaurants to their disposal then this place would be bankrupt.

It feels good to find a new favorite restaurant upon moving to an unfamiliar place. Relocating from Chicago I haven't found many good restaurants in Macon as of yet, but Francar's Buffalo Wings offers a breath of fresh air. It has a young vibrant atmosphere filled with college students from Mercer University chatting with their buddies while munching on their wings. The walls are painted bright orange, matching the color of the university, and are covered with sports jerseys, sports memorabilia, sports news, fraternity/sorority shirts and signs, and other fun things. Needless to say, this is a college hang-out spot. Being a law student, I had some disconnect from the undergraduate crowd but I still enjoyed the energetic atmosphere. The prices are reasonable, you can have a meal for around $5. Their menu ranges from sandwiches and wraps to deep fried chicken/seafood to burgers. I had the Philly Cheesesteak which came with fries. The fries were absolutely delicious, crunchy and hot, right out of the deep fryer. I'm not sure if "fresh" is an appropriate word to use to describe fries, but if you can, then it would definitely be appropriate here! I couldn't stop eating em. The cheese on the Philly Cheesesteak was warm and gooey and they did not skimp on the steak. The peppers, onions, and mushrooms were not overcooked which is a problem with many Philly Cheesesteaks. The bread was soft and fresh out of the oven. The people working there were down to earth and friendly. It is also a small family owned restaurant so that's an extra plus for those who are "go local" like me.

I have been eating Francars since they were located on the West side of town. I commend them for building such a big following in Macon and expanding! Their wings are always cooked to perfection and they have sauces for all palates. I believe I have tried them all. For Macon locals this place is kinda like the bar on Cheers LOL. Carl always greeted me, asked me about school (through high school, college, and grad school) and encouraged me to keep going - but believe me there is no bias! Devoid of all the family atmosphere, the food is fantastic!

I have never been to a restaurant where the staff/owner was just plain mean and rude. I heard rumors before I went but I'd thought I would try it for myself. They have a "how dare you ask me to work" type attitude. Idk how they remain open in a customer service field. Wow is all I can say!

The wings are okay, but the service is pretty terrible. It seems as though they don't trust college students and feel as though they need to treat students like little kids.

The food was decent. The staff was incredibly rude. I felt so uncomfortable I just wanted to leave. I feel like the atmosphere and staff took away anything good about this place. I will never go back

Worst wings I've ever had! I ate one bite of my wings and they were so bad that I went immediately from starving to disgusted. I told the cashier that I couldn't eat them because I didn't like how they tasted and she made me pay for them and said "that's your opinion." Making a customer pay for food they don't eat, that makes them have to wash their mouths out after tasting, is terrible business. They are rude and their food tastes horrible. Even the fries and ketchup were nasty! How do you even do that?! AVOID THIS PLACE!

The service is the worst in Macon I was with a few co workers its 745 and the little sever told us we couldnt sit near the TV because the closed at 9 and he didn't wanna clean it again we left with out ordering anything so I tried it again during lunch hours and I see why I was the only person eating their over priced wings that are not even good as any other wing place in macon and the service isn't worth my hard earn dollars I would not advise any one to eat their

Just ordered the 15 Piece Wings with Sweet Peach & Tangy Peach as my 2 sauces. For $12.99, I think it's kind of a rip off due to the Wings being sooooooo TINY! Damn they're small! lol! Good, but small! I'd rather buy some Francar Sauces and head over to McDonald's for their "Mighty Wing"s and smother them in that! Boy have this place changed! In a good way! Moved from the "Urban Area" to the "Suburban Area"...good job! Been eating Francar's since I was in Middle School...

Their wings are ok. , their service is not good and their prices are too high. For 5 hot wings it's $5.29 b/f tax that's over a dollar per wing. I can't put this down as a favorite place to go and will look for a place with good wings and better prices

The boyfriend and i have been here before and ordered a few level 4 (the hottest) sauces and while they were hot, they were not what I expected. This time we ordered their Macon Bears sauce, one of two sauces that are marked "no refunds for being too hot." I completely understand that now. He made it through all 8 of his wings; I broke down after 6 and a half. We had to order more fried and used most of a bottle of ketchup. Even now my face is on fire. And I love it. Even if you don't like it so hot they have a litany of flavorful sauces and they aren't shy with the sauce! The wings are well done and juicy. And the staff is very friendly. The 2 ladies working were very helpful, often refilling my tea that did nothing to put out the fire in my mouth. Think I'll stick with the Mercer Gold sauce from now on... ;)

Worst service I have experienced in Macon and that's raising the bar. First of all, we could not sit by the window. Woman came up with a lame excuse that the window tables were for last resort??? Whole reason I wanted to go to this place was to eye the Mercer University scenery. Only about 7 tables in the place and no one else was there. I got the lemon/pepper wings, a big disappointment. If you are looking for eclectic, superior wings, this isn't the place. Just stick with the chains, you will be better off. Reminder, "The customer is always right"!

Best wing restaurant I've ever been to. I've tried many of their flavors and I've yet to find one that disappoints. Their staff is friendly with a fun attitude. I highly recommend checking it out if you enjoy great wings.

They are amazing! They make their sauces in house and a lot of them are sauces you can't find anywhere else. You can even get your Philly dipped with any of the wing sauce and it is really great that way. I would have never thought to do that. I also really love that place because they were kind enough to remember my dietary restrictions when I walk in there. Also, everything is freshly made and tastes better at Francar's than at any other Wings restaurant I've been to. Please note, they really don't like you leaning against the wall (they have a lot of memorabilia ) and they don't like your feet in their seats.

Best hot wings I've ever eaten bar none. Every time I'm back in Macon I make sure to stop in and gorge myself on their deliciousness.

Horrible Service!! I called to complain because my order was wrong and the cashier decided to tell me I wasn't going to be happy with anything. I will not be eating at thos crap of a place anymore. I was a loyal customer for many years. You will not be disrespectful and I am paying you. I do not care what your cook said she did, it wasn't right and you cheated me out of food.

I am rating Francar's 2 stars because of their customer service. Their wings ARE good, so if you're doing a take-out order, you'll be fine, but the service received while dining-in can be extremely dissatisfying. My co-worker and I were seated at a 6 person table. We sat down in the middle as there were people within close proximity..... This gave us space....every customer wants to feel comfortable in their environment. The waitress took our drink order then came back with a message from Sharon to move to the end of the table because they get busy around lunch time. I was frustrated and highly disappointed with the request because it was close to 2pm, the lunch crowd had already came and gone, and there were still tables available as well as the bar. Why not ask if we would mind moving IF they became busy to allow room for additional patrons?? My coworker and I decided to sit outside as to not cause a scene. Through observation, not one person entered the building the entire time we ate our food. There was also an occasion where I visited alone. I wanted to sit at a table but they were adamant in making me sit at the bar. Again, the restaurant was NOT busy. I'm not sure why they are like this. They're also very selective with who they're friendly to. My desire is to see their customer service improve and that they be mindful of how their "militant" like rules can ruin what they have obviously worked hard for. After my experience as well as other experiences I have been made aware of, I will not be patronizing this establishment again.

Absolutely horrible service! The staff was very belittling to us at our table when they informed us of their 1 cup policy. Yes, you read that correctly. If you want a coke and a water, you must first finish your water before they will give you a coke in the same styrofoam cup. What if your hands are too dirty from, I don't know, sauce and your cup happens to have sauce on it? The waiter will ask you to first clean your cup before you get a refill. Very slow to pay also, as you have to wait in the entry way in front of the door to the kitchen (so you'll have to dodge trays of food leaving). I won't return to a business that can't spare an extra dime to make their customers happy.

Very good wings! Got the Georgia scorcher. Waitress should have informed me before checkout that the curly fries would void the lunch special discount, I was disappointed by her $3 overcharge.

Just had lunch at Francar's and was quite pleased! I had delicious fried tenders in Mercer Gold sauce. Sharon was very helpful and suggested a couple of sauces for me and let me try a small taste before committing. The tenders were perfectly cooked as were the fries, service was fast and they checked in often. Looking forward to cooking at home with the sauce I got to take home! Met both the owners and found them to be pleasant and helpful. I'm going to need to find a reason to return to Macon for some more delicious food!

WORST customer service I've ever had at a restaurant! Should have read reviews before we went...everyone else is absolutely right!! They gave us a hard time about a 1 cent plastic fork. Yes, my daughter needs a fork to eat her Mac & Cheese. And don't go too close to closing time...we saw them turn two groups away because they were going to close in a half hour! Why say you're open until 7:00 if you're not going to serve people past 6:30?!? I don't know how this place is even still in business. They will certainly never be receiving any more of ours!

Highly disappointed in this place. The wings were decent, nothing spectacular. The customer service at this place is repulsive. The employee behind the counter was sitting down talking on her cell phone while customers were coming in. She demands you to sit in a certain spot, probably to cut down on work for her lazy self. There were literally 2 customers in the place when I went in, I ordered my food, and it STILL came out wrong. I can completely understand if you are slammed you might mess up one order. But there was nobody there! How on earth can you not get 15 piece wing and a fry order right? Come on. I felt like I was inconvenience the worker for a refill on my drink. Literally raising my hand and saying sorry for interrupting your cell conversation but can I please have a refill? But with this horrible experience I am really excited. I have been planning to open a fantastic wing spot and that area is looking really promising because only Francar's is over there and they are no competition at all, they get by solely on their location, not the product they provide. If you're craving wings save yourself the trouble and pick another spot.

So I am familiar with this business from where they were located at prior to the current location near Mercer. Smart move but even located so close to Mercer you can still be as empty as you were both each time that I have been there recently. The food is good but customer service was not on the menu and from the thousands of rules posted everywhere it is not gonna be in the future. I was shocked because being an event planner I was trying to test the waters before placing future orders. Well tonight shall I say was the last supper there for me. She had to be in the top three of rudest people that I have ever met in my life Just extremely nasty... Shocked to see that type of behavior in a location where you could have lines going out of the door at all times..Not with the nastiness served here. I placed an order for fried wings, upon receiving my order I looked and saw very tiny flats which I did not special order, so I went back to let them know for that price I want to get what I ordered. She explained that I get what is in the bucket . Still smiling I said that's not what I paid for . So they decided to cook me 3 fresh wings and give me 3 from the prior order that were now cold... So what did I learn today sometimes I give people too much credit... Maybe she needs a day or month to take maybe a how to be nice to people that put money in your register dot com class.
