Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park

Beautiful things can exist in a neighborhood, and the ones living near it never enjoy it. Have you seen a lake view of Mt. Baldy? This is a Regional Park. Yet it has parts (water ways etc.) owned by the State due to it surrounding the Puddingstone Dam/Lake (reservoir). It's huge (250 acres could mean, it may take multiple visits to try and see everything). Nature abounds, and the views on any given day are varied beautiful. It is well maintained. It is family friendly, great for walking, or just relaxing taking on the sights. It offers numerous places with covering (gazebos) for shaded gatherings. On weekends, there is a swim park, boat rentals etc. You can fish on the lake. There is an RV area. You can launch your boat, kayak etc. from the designated piers. There are a variety of styles of playgrounds for children. Look at pictures when you search Bonneli Park. It's dog friendly and there are lovely trails to walk etc. There are public restrooms and many parking areas. Be natured prepared (have what you need) for mosquitoes and possible native wildlife (coyotes etc.)There are seasonal pass offerings with special pricing for Seniors that eliminate the parking per visit entry fee. It also provides additional perks at other state parks. Go visit...it is a beautiful park and the perfect place for a picnic or birthday celebration.

Entry fee is now $18. Please keep in mind that recreation parks close Monday and Tuesday. I love going for air at the park. My son loves and enjiys feeding peanuts to the squirrels. The ducks are there and my son loves to see when they fly away when they see a dog. Restrooms are always clean and the grass looks beautiful. I recommend going anytime of the day. Hace a nice walk and enjoy the view.

This is a nice park for a bbq picnic or fishing or small beach crafting. Also it’s good place to take a walk with your kids and pets. One negative is that they charge $15 Parking for your car.

Frank G. Bonelli Park is a fantastic spot for outdoor fun and relaxation! The park is beautifully maintained, with plenty of green space for picnics, hiking trails, and areas for fishing or boating on the lake. It’s perfect for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to escape the city for a bit. The playgrounds and picnic areas are clean and well-equipped, and there’s always something happening, from fishing derbies to outdoor concerts. Plus, the views are gorgeous, especially at sunset. Parking is ample, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for a day out in nature!

Really nice family friendly park, came on the weekend with family to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. We had fun swimming, eating, and playing games. However in the bathroom only one of the three sinks worked, so you will have to be patient. Other than that we had a good time.

A beautiful park and lake with amazing surroundings perfect for family and friend gatherings. So peaceful and delightful for all. Great walking paths for our furry members too 🐶. Your kitties will love it too. (Take crates and their harness and leash) Memorable place ...BBQ, Kyacking, boat peddling, horseback riding, bikes, fishing, friendly ducks, make sure to take your hammocks and mini tents. Lovely place with many many beautiful trees. Take a drive around the park and you'll find a nice beach with life guards too! I love this place!!

Family friendly. You can rent kayak and family pedal bikes. The swim beach closes early. Great for young kids. Has trails, allows boats and jet skis.

Biked around the lake from Suzanne Park Sunday morning. Little bit chill but beautiful views. You can take a bird view of California’s biggest water park down the hill. Lots of people fishing in the huge lake. And lots of activities you can do here. Will spend more time here to explore next time.

First time here with my church friends, it a cloudy day but we really enjoyed this spacious park. Lots of picnic tables and trash cans nearby, it's convenient and keeping our natural environment clean. After food, we walked around the lake and had so much fun with the ducks and stunning views. Highly recommended for family time and friends if you love nature.

This park has so many amenities, you can experience them on multiple trips. There are 3 entrances, the main one is off Via Verde Avenue, or by the Fairplex or the North Shore (off Puddingstone Drive). Even though there is an RV park with overnight camping, that is a separate entrance fee and reservations are required. Some amenities are hiking trails, picnic areas, fishing (everyday), kayaking, swimming, and paddleboarding. During Summer months, jet skis are allowed on odd days, speedboats on even days. Bring your family, friends and pets to enjoy a leisure and scenic day in beautiful surroundings. Beginning April 1st is a $12 entrance fee for vehicles, discount for senior citizens, which is in effect til Winter. The Winter months (Oct 1st through March 31st) is free Monday through Friday, pay on weekends and Holidays (like this Monday is Veteran's Day). Bonelli is open everyday, except Christmas day. Most locals know this patk was formerly known as Puddingstone Dam, but was renamed as Frank G. Bonelli Park (Board of Supervisor, 5th District) after his retirement in 1990. Southern California has so many great regional parks, and Bonelli in San Dimas is one of them. We visited on a random Tuesday, when school was in session and people were at work, so we pretty much had the park to ourselves. We stopped at the first parking lot near the entrance and played at the playgrounds there (there were three playgrounds!), and also hiked a little ways into the canyons. The hikes here are gorgeous, and the one we did had an overlook that looked out onto the park. The hiking trail that we did -- I think it was the Bonelli Trail -- didn't have much shade, so you might want to bring a hat if you hike around here. This park is very peaceful, with lots of wildlife to observe, like squirrels and birds and things. There was also a steady stream of police cars that either sat and parked in the parking lot or cruised by. So this area is well looked-after.

It was my first time here and it's safe to say I'm coming back. The entrance/parking fee is $15 and a launch pass for paddle boards and kayaks is $9 unless you have a motorized vehicle then it's $12. I would say that's pretty reasonable for a good time. I'm not sure if we went on a slow day but it was empty and very relaxing. We noticed more people were getting there in the late afternoon (around 5/6) so if you like peace and quiet go earlier!

Bonelli is a great park to come to for hiking, walking, running, cycling, etc.! I've been coming here since I was a kid and even ran here in high school for my cross country practices and races. There's honestly so much bonelli has to offer including multiple playgrounds, a trailer park campsite, and the swim beach that's open during the summer. I personally love running here since there are so many different trails. There's honestly other parts of the park that I have yet to explore so im always just coming back!

The perfect place to visit to get fresh air, to go for a bike ride, a hike, a walk, have a picnic, fish, camp, just enjoy some peaceful time by the lake, and more depending on the season. I have been coming here pretty much all my life. But even more so the past few years. There is a fee for parking during the summer season May 1 - September 30. And only on the weekends and holidays during the winter season October 1st- April 30th. During the summer, when I go, I will sometimes park at the Park and Ride instead and walk into the park. It is very peaceful to be there, I either go to bike, hike on the trails, or walk around by the lake. There are a few bathrooms around the park, and are usually pretty clean and maintained. Plenty of parking in the park. Definitely more crowded during the summer and weekends. But, I tend to go in the off season during weekdays! I love bringing my camera to take pictures here, whether it's while I'm on the trail or by the lake. Plenty of birds to take photos of, flowers and trees depending on the seasons. Often people are there having their family photos taken as well.

While the park was nice, the $15 parking fee was steep considering the beach was closed off completely. There were also a lot of dog and geese poo.

I throughly enjoy this park. Has a beautiful 3 mile loop and multiple playgrounds along the way, followed by a beautiful view of the water. Perfect for families on an evening stroll w the dogs or even on a quiet run. However once the sun goes down, there's not much light and I believe it closes at 8pm, you got to start making your way back to the car. There's a dog living there, and I've seen many people try to lure her to come back home with them. Seems like this pup is living her best life outside, and being fed by everyone around. However, they're "trapping her so she can go to her new family" sounds pretty heartbreaking to me. If you want to save a dog, go to the shelter, please! We aren't playing Pokémon over here with Miss Freesia. She has a good temperament, I don't think she needs a savior. Free-sia, bc let that dog be free!

We rang in the New Year in chill mode by staying a few nights at Bonelli Park. Prices are reasonable with full hook ups for electricity and plumbing. The park is small and straightforward - you check in, park, plug in, and relax. It's set up in loops so you can go on easy meandering bike rides through different sections of the park and not get lost. Me and the kids took a sunset ride and got to see the sun set over the lake. I was envious of those who had lakeside view - super serene! There's a little market with barebones amenities: water, light snacks, NO alcohol (until further notice - I wonder what happened there?), and souvenirs. There's a small playground with two swing sets and a slide to help pass the time. If you're looking for chill, easy vibes, and to feel like you're far from home (but still freeway close), this is the spot.

This park has it all. Great picnic areas, fantastic hikes, and even a lake to launch your boat or kayak. My experience with this park was mostly for the hikes. Some fantastic trails here, a little bit for everyone. I was fortunate enough to launch a raft into the water with friends. The whole process was quite straight forward, just pay for parking at the staging area. Launch your vessel, make sure you have life jackets, and half fun. Brought some food to picnic after some fun in the waters. Overall a great place for all sorts of recreation activities. Perhaps I'll try the camping.

As an avid birder, I can't believe it's taken me so long to visit Bonelli but I finally did and the amount of species I saw on my brief morning walk was astounding!! I've had so many birder friends hounding me to visit and I'm so glad I finally did - definitely a fantastic spot for birding, but also for fishing, kayaking and boating, or even just for relaxing by the reservoir! The lake in the heart of the park is 250-acre Puddingstone Reservoir and is a very important habitat for the birds and other wildlife in the area. The park is very well maintained and has tons of picnic tables and other areas to relax and enjoy the fresh air. The picnic tables by the lake are out in the open but the ones by the main parking lot are covered. The numerous trees provide some shade but I recommend sunscreen. There's a nice pier that gets you a little closer to the birds further out in the water - this is a fantastic place to watch the many Grebes that visit during their migrations - their mating dances are quite a splendid sight to see! There are lots of ground squirrels here as well and I saw a woman going around throwing lots of peanuts while I was there - it's cute to watch them eat but I'm not entirely sure this is good for them bc they become dependent :/ The park is very large with campgrounds and lots of different recreational areas. I visited the main part of the park by the nice beach but it seemed closed, perhaps for the winter? There were many people fishing by the parking area. It also has a large playground and there are plenty of clean bathrooms everywhere. Theres also a visitor center but it was closed when I arrived. During my visit I walked as much of the lake perimeter as I could and it was an easy stroll with so many birding opportunities! I saw 26 species in less than 2 hours - a fantastic morning! I'll definitely be back again in spring to try and catch some shots of the Grebes spectacular mating dance in all its glory!

Went here to try our luck at fishing with my niece. Plenty of parking. We should've arrived early in the morning when fish usually that's when they bite. We went to the Puddingstone Reservoir side near the swim beach. We continued walking to fish at the pier towards the left after you park. It was a lovely view of the reservoir. The park recently stocked up fish, but unfortunately, we didn't catch any. Even other people fishing, whom we chatted with didn't catch any fish. Nevertheless, it was the adventure and time spent with my niece that was memorable. Beautiful park to take your family with to enjoy your day.

This RV park is absolutely gorgeous. Every employee is friendly, kind, courteous and helpful... I'm part of a group and once or twice a year I'm in charge of making reservations for usually 10 - 12 rigs.... Shane Vasse is absolutely wonderful to work with.. I've had to make changes several times.... No problem.. he's there if I needed him, and never makes me feel like I'm being a pest. And always such a pleasure to work with. Bonelli is absolutely gorgeous.... The grounds so well kept. Maintenance is available within minutes if you need them. Every employee is friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to come back again

The park is big, with many activities, and close to, in the way inside there is a water park. Excellent for paddling, canoeing and fishing. There are tables for picnic and restrooms. You can take your dog. The place is so peaceful! It is worth to go there to spend a day with your family. My grandson loved fishing there.

Always a great LA county park, Hubby at work kids at school, what to do... what to do ... TRAILS, beautiful trails for walking for mountain bikes... Today, perfect weather ... no sun, cloudy light drizzle why not mountain bike, if you love nature and getting muddy, good location for that!

It was my gratitude to always run through here in my old cross country team. Shout-out to Chaffey College Cross Country and former Coach Lander and to the panthers and pantheresses of 2022-2024. It is beautiful, well maintained, and used for many recreational purposes by various visitors. Very lovely place. May your next outdoor adventure take you here? I could have sworn I have previously written a review for this place... Occasionally, I think yelp eats a review or two. But considering how much we all eat around here, I guess it's only fair that she gets a serving from time to time... Anyway, Frank G Bonelli, regional Park, known to those of us who grew up as children of the 80s, as simply "Puddingstone," is a relatively large man-made reservoir, nestled in the hills above San Dimas. For decades, my family and friends have joined me there for various purposes: kayaking, fishing, park barbecues, the occasional mud, run, or organized, race, and most frequently, for various trail walks, hiking, and hill running. The lake has a pretty well defined path that circumnavigate it, as well as miles and miles of horse trails that Chris cross the hillside in the general area around Bonelli Park. There are horse stables, a private, RV camp, and while I'm not sure if they are still open, they used to have hot tubs at the top of the hill with a pretty incredible view. In the spring and summer seasons, there is an admission charge at the gate, but from approximately November through April, or so, weekdays are free to enter with a vehicle. Most of the time, I parked outside somewhere, and walk or bike in. Speaking of bikes, there are many cyclists to use this area to train, particularly on some of the hills, which can be quite steep. There are grassy areas on the east and north shores, a dedicated, boat ramp, picnic facilities, and even a small fishing pier. There used to be two fishing piers, but some idiot did not realize that you cannot build a campfire on a wooden pier surface... Too bad, it used to be a cool spot to fish. Speaking of fish, there are signs posted all over the place that suggest you do not eat anything out of here, but there are quite a few subsistence fisherman who ostensibly fly the lake's waters for a little extra protein. There are seasonal bites on the usual, so CAL lake, fish, and shhh... don't tell anyone, OK? But there are actually a few nice bass probably still swimming around in there. Especially if the same 15 of us who know how to catch them continue to release them healthy. More of a sure thing is boating on the lake, although be advised: they are absolutely hysterically over the top nuts about making sure quagga mussels don't get into the lake, so if you have even the suggestion of water in your boat from anywhere else... Including a puddle that you drove through on the way in... They're not going to let you watch. Seriously. A puddle. Um, not that that happened to me or anything. At certain times of the year, the hill, sides, green up, with all sorts of beautiful plants blooming with sprays of wildflowers here in there. Most of the remainder of the year, it's Tinder dry brush... So be extra cautious with your coals, and for God sakes, quit smoking already. Speaking of getting healthy, most days see plenty of folks and families walking, cycling, running, or hiking on the paths and trails. The fastest path around the lake takes about 5 1/2 miles, but if you're creative with some of the trails, you can easily turn a trip around putting stone into a half marathon if you want to. Whatever you do out there, please pick up your trash, and be respectful of one another. This is one of the last community lakes in the area that is enjoyed by so many different people, and it would be a shame if it were restricted to all due to a couple of idiots.

For as much as they charge, you would expect the entire park to be maintained. They only maintain one small section. Not worth the high entrance fee.

Great beautiful park for a day out at the lake and/or picnic with friends and family. Went primarily for fishing and chilling, and it's a beautiful place to do so! Well kept and fairly clean, but the water was a bit filthy last time I went but it may be just due to excessive parties visiting and/or the heat. Overall for just $12 entry, I highly recommend visiting!

This is a huge park! First off, admission is $12.50 per car, but $5 if you come with a senior. There are plenty of parking spots at various sections. Parking areas are usually near a restroom so that's always a plus! This is a beautiful regional park. Everywhere it's clean and paths are easy to walk. If you opt to hike higher up, there are also plenty of hiking trails. There's a lake and the trail along the lake that provides such a calm and delightful sight with the mountains in the background. If you go around during winter you'll be able to see the snow capped Mt. Baldy in the background. I love that it's dog friendly so you can bring your fur babies along. Plenty of people jog and bike, so that's another option for some exercise. The air is clean and fresh as it's a little distance away from the smog-filled LA. Highly recommend!

It is a nice place to visit and to connect with nature. The parking lot: They have different areas for parking. In the front of the main entrance if the day is not a busy one! Or at different designated areas all around the park. The park itself: It's the Heaven of San Dimas . You can enjoy the lake level horizon which give joy and tranquility. In addition to the green color every where around. It is indescribable beauty! Activities: Various types of activities from walking to biking to jogging to running and more Or if you want to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature with a book! Tips: - Grab some snacks specially if you have kids with you - Bring chairs or a picnic blanket just in case if the park is busy - Bring water of course - Take sweater if you are planning to stay late Also, you can bring your pet with you. It's a pet friendly park. The admission ticket now is $12 and they prefer cash. The fee for an annual pass it's $150 although it excludes holidays It is a great place to hang out with friends and family and to enjoy nature

The park is great. The restrooms are a disaster! Since the park is charging to enjoy the park and facilities it all should be cleaned regularly and attended by staff. I am giving 2 stars because several of the restroom stalls had no toilet paper, the toilet seats were dirty and the floor was filthy with trash and toilet paper absolutely disgusting.

Beautiful and HUGE park. It is a $12 entrance fee per car, but free during weekdays during winter season. I counted 4 separate playgrounds as we drove by. People were biking, fishing, having picnics, and playing on playgrounds. There was also a gorgeous lake with tons of ducks! We also saw some cool rock formations that kids were climbing, but we didn't have time to go there today. Honestly, this park had so much you could do here! The park is huge and a lot of much maintenance, so the fee is understandable. We'll definitely come back often!

Visited on Saturday, 05/21/22 for the very first time (I probably visited years ago when I was just a kiddo but do not recall). $12 entrance fee per vehicle. VERY HUMONGOUS park! Fresh air, remarkable scenery, and a great place to truly relax and spend time with family while being in a "remote area. The wildlife here is wonderful - we got to see amazing, unique bird species. You can fish, kayak, bike, hike, party, the list goes on! We hiked very far and would recommend bringing water. It was our first time hiking so we really did not know where we were going; we ended up hiking back to where we started since it will take HOURS to hike in FULL circle. There is POOP everywhere (doggo and duck poop) so be careful and wash your shoes after! Truly love this place - overall 5/5!

It was a long trail - the Puddingstone trail from Alltralls app, so prepare snacks, water and wear hiking shoes. We took a short cut by the make, walked for one Lapp around this huge make was about 5 miles, but if you following the trail from the AllTrails app it would be 8 miles. Love my hike on Easter weekend 2021, Very beautiful view in the hills, stunning sunset view, beautiful camp grounds, bathrooms convenience, blooming flowers everywhere, found in sections making on flower branches haha! Well you now, it's spring time! TIP= $12 entry on weekend! I think it's free in weekend? But perfect spot for BBQ picnic and camping!

Drove over an hour to get here and test out my boat. All fees paid for the vessel, and completely California compliant but we were turned away for a little water coming from inside my motor when it was ran at home on a garden hose. Wasted our time coming here and were told we have a "quarantine" period before my vessel is allowed there again as well. I'm fairly sure that's why I pay a Mussel fee when I register my vessel but also an easy way to piss people off who are coming to enjoy a day on the water. Not gonna be returning here, and I recommend you do the same.

We live close to Bonelli, so often walk over to the lake. Our dogs enjoy the walk and seen the ducks and geese and squirrels. Occasionally we in front across the coyote as long as you leave them alone, they will leave you alone. I've seen many people fishing, barbecuing, playing in the playground. This is a great place for a small gathering. Very large corporate gathering. They have many different areas of the park. I would highly recommend looking online and becoming familiar with the park set up. I would caution not to walk alone as we have encountered not so friendly folks on the trail.

It's a great location but not maintained very well especially since they charge an entry fee for parking. Every time I have come there is trash everywhere including playground and picnic areas. I noticed many of the complaints here were of how strict they are about motor vessels at the lake. I personally think this lake is too small for boats with motors. I would like to see a cleaner park with more tree planting. Years ago they removed many trees because they were dying due to disease. Since the 2028 Olympic Mountain Bike Event is planned I suspect they will do a better job cleaning up the trash at least for the event. I also agree with one review that the camper area is definitely too close to the mobile park. Takes away from the serenity of the park. The camper spaces are small and too close together so no privacy when busy. There are many great hiking / biking trails. No alcohol allowed but apparently not enforced as i see beer cans and bottles trashed sometimes about twenty five feet from trash cans. Also dogs must be on leashes. Every once in a while people try to sleep/ camp or live in the non camping area of the park. Thankfully there are police and park employees that will immediately remove them.

It's nice but crowded sometimes. Mother nature really at its best here. You can feel them more than feel them.

Free on the weekdays, $12 entrance fee on the weekends, but you're supporting a local park, no issues from me here! I'm honestly surprised that such a nice park is located so close to me (yeah, yeah I know Schabaurum is there too), but having a lake really does hit different you know? I thought it was really cool how there was such a large body of water and people were fishing and rowing boats on the water. Lots of ducks, pelicans, cormorants, and other water fowl to take a gander at. We went farther up into the park and found a spot that had no people near us and we got to see all the cormorants fishing. There was an elote man hustling and his food was pretty good. A nice way to spend a morning/afternoon. I definitely want to come back and to a Yuru Camp photoshoot here.

Awesome park! This place is HUGE and clean. Sooo many activities which individuals, families and groups can do here such as walks, hiking, swimming, boating, picnics, BBQ's, biking, running trails etc., Hosted a recent picnic here for over 500 guests and we had a BLAST!! Employees are professional and truly care about the park. Great place to visit

Grew up in San Dimas and moved to Diamond Bar when I was in elementary school. Surprisingly after so many years, I still haven't checked out this park! Parking is $12 or free if there are no cashiers at the booth. I walked a 2 mile hike called Bonelli Park Loop. Half of the loop was a typical park environment with tables and a few playgrounds. The other half was a walk by the south side of the Puddingstone Reservoir. Overall, it was a nice place to just relax!

Great campground with amazing staff . Recommend for all others. Each site is big and fully serviced

My parents took me here as a kid when they got off of work. My dad loved to fish so he'd let my brother and sister and me run around, my mom would BBQ and he would fish. Fast forward to me having kids of my own and I rediscovered Bonelli Regional Park. Back in the day it was just called Puddingstone Lake. I didn't remember much about how to get around from when I was a kid. But we soon became familiar with swim beach, the east shore and north shore. We've been here now more than a dozen times during various times of the year. During the summer months after the algae bloom has subsided, swim beach is open. It's a decent sized sandy beach with life guards and a buoyed off section. Parking can get really tight so you might have to drop off your gear and then park and then set up. It's best if you have friends or family to help. Remember to start packing up around 4:30 pm because they lock the gate at 5 pm and your stuff will be locked up, too. The rest of the lake has many miles of shoreline that aren't as nice or pretty as the sand at swim beach, but offer nice shaded and grassy areas for a cook out or just a place to chill. Fishing is allowed outside of swim beach so you can find that perfect spot to cast off. The north shore is our favorite, but you can't wade or swim. It's more remote but the parking is easy and the grassy area surrounds a rough sandy area mostly covered in small rocks and old shells. It's primarily for jet skiers but we put up our canopy and my kids played in the sand just fine. The nice thing about this location is that there's a large playground overlooking the lake, so they can burn some energy there, too. We've launched our inflatable canoe many times from anywhere on the shoreline except swim beach. There's a $10.00 inspection/launch fee and you have to have enough PFD's for every passenger (they check). If you happen to be behind a guy towing a boat at the kiosk, go to another lane. The boat inspection takes time and you'll be stuck for a good 5 minutes. Tent camping is offered once a month during the summer months but I recommend paying a little extra and going to Bonelli Bluffs up on the hill for a better camping experience. This close-in park and lake to most of LA is a great reprieve from city life and the daily grind. If you don't want to haul it to the beach, but want some water fun, Bonelli Regional Park is a great alternative... As long as you can find parking...

First time here in the afternoon Eve of Christmas Eve and then went again one day the following week. This park is huge and very pleasant! It was clean and I felt safe walking there. I walked 1.5 - 2 hours on each day I was here, looked out on the lake in a few places, and took lots of pictures. The only area I didn't walk was on the other side of the lake where the lifeguard towers are. It wasn't crowded at all, so everyone was spaced out, just like I love it. There are a lot of picnic tables all nicely spaced out and there are several restrooms pretty evenly spaced out. There were some areas in which I wish there was a concrete walking path, but overall, this park's pretty hard to beat. There are different paths one can choose from to walk on, which I really like. I also love the scenery!

How often do you find a park that has pretty much everything in it? It has a lake, sand beach, fishing pier, boat loading and unloading dock, rolling hills, biking and hiking trails, BBQ grills, bench seating, and children's playgrounds. Daily parking fee is $10 and up (depending on the size of the vehicle). Bonelli Park offers a wide variety of recreational activities, including boating, jet skiing, fishing, swimming, family and group picnicking, nature walks, hiking, jogging, and biking. There are also concessionaires offering RV Camping, Hot Tubs, Wedding Facilities, and Horse Back Riding.

I have been coming to this park for years with my loved ones. It is definitely a hidden gem if you are not a local in this 626/909 area. The walk is about about 45 minutes if you do it leisurely and approximately 3 miles when you loop around the whole entire park. Try to walk clockwise (so start with the mountain side) because it is mostly uphill and you get to warm up quickly that way. Then as you start to feel sweaty and a bit dry mouth, you will see a giant lake with ducks and swans floating around and birds chirping on the trees. I find that scenery so therapeutic and wonderful, so I recommend you to try it at least once, maybe you will find it enjoyable as well! The park also has a lot of bike trails. I think the park hosts some sort of a bike competition once a year and a lot of people would ride their bikes up and down the hills for practice on the weekends. Lastly, if you are looking for a place for picnic or barbecue, this is definitely the place to come! I have seen so many birthday parties here when I used to my afternoon walk at the park.

What a great park! Seeing the foothills overlooking the reservoir is so lovely. We spent most of our time near the east shore area where the boat/kayak rental stand was. There was plenty of shade trees to set up a picnic area, and the restrooms were not far away. Plenty of parking spaces too. The women's restroom stalls didn't really have working locks on them, so you'll need to be quick or find a way to hold it closed while using the restroom. But there was plenty of soap. I noticed not everyone was complying with wearing masks and were still putting up shelters and gathering in big groups. There did not seem to be much enforcement of those park rules. But the park is large enough and spacious enough that you can stay 6 ft away from folks and wear a mask yourself. $10 for a vehicle to enter.

Nice park to visit if your in the Pomona / San Dimas area. Easy access from the freeway. We arrived early 7:30ish on a Sunday and parked at the Park and Ride lot across the freeway to avoid paying for parking. Walking into the park is a short walk. I didnt notice any park rangers that morning so you might be able to park within the park without paying but we didnt want to chance it. The park has a lake, paths and hills to walk / run. It seems that the park was pretty well kept up.

Neat surprise in this part of town. Came here for a walk on the trail around the reservoir, which has nice views at certain points. $12 for the day use fee, with lots of different areas to park in. Saw plenty of people fishing, running, hanging out by the picnic tables etc. And it never feels crowded cause this place is surprisingly pretty big. For the trail around the reservoir, it's not exactly a straight path, with a change of scenery at every corner. Some of it feels more like a forest while others will leave you on a paved road. If it's your first time, you'll likely be checking the map often like us to make sure you're not take the wrong road to stay on the loop near the reservoir. There's shade at some parts of the road and overall not difficult but it is about 5-6 miles around the lake. Took us about 2 hours at a leisurely pace (including some parts where we got lost and missed a turn).

I didn't have to pay for parking which was odd. This park gets packed and it's not even summer yet. I parked near the parking lot near the lake and walked one of the walking trails around the lake. The runners and bicyclists were so friendly greeting me! This is a beautiful park to photograph the lake. Next time I will see if I can come in the morning.

**$10 ENTRANCE FEE** Many park outside and walk in or ride their bikes in for free Fishing, walking, picnic... normal park activities open and plenty of space for your distancing proclivities. Clean bathrooms and plenty of tables scattered all around. There's a lot of duck poop around the lake maybe you don't wanna set your picnic blanket there, just a suggestion. And unfortunately dog poop too, watch the kids and for goodness sake pick up your dog's poop !!! And please clean up after yourselves, there are lots of trash cans everywhere there's no excuse!

I made a trip here today. It's an amazing park. I love the mix of scenery. I saw a lot of wildlife, including ospreys, hawks, vultures, a lizard, and ground squirrels. There are some good dirt trails to hike. I like that there are a variety of activities one can do at the park.

Beautiful, well kept regional park with super easy access from the 57 freeway. I believe it's about $10 to park, unless you visit during off peak times, such as late afternoons. There is tons of parking, play areas, picnic spots, tables, restroom facilities, etc. scattered around the scenic Puddingstone Lake. I especially liked the trails and walking paths to get outdoors and take in the scenery - you almost forget you're in the middle of Southern California with the nature, birds, and beautiful lake. I visited in the afternoon on a weekend and it was busy but felt spacious and didn't feel crowded or uncomfortable.

Super super nice park! Large AND it has a lake open for those hot summer days! The park is huge and you can do many things from hiking to picnicking to swimming at the lake. They have the lake area where you can set up for your picnic and they also have the large playground area. There isn't just one playground... there's four. So depending on what playground you want your kids to use... you set up there. Saturdays and Sundays get packed so go early. We happened to come last minute but ended up finding a really secluded shaded area across from the last playground at the park. As you can see, it's still really nice. Def recommend!

We came by midweek on a Tuesday and we parked for free on McKinley Ave in Norm's Hanger Coffee Shop parking lot. This was in the afternoon when the restaurant was closed and many other hikers and bikers were parking there too. Parking is $12 if you choose the regular parking lot. We walked an eight mile loop around the park, lake, and next to Raging Waters.
